The folks at Hardwood Elegance did a great job and were very accommodating with our schedule. The refinished floors look beautiful! We definitely want them to come back to do more of our house!

They are very professional and courteous. They were on time. They were very clean and absolutely how you would like any service provider to be. There were no surprises. They explained everything perfectly.

No response at all to my request. Contacted another company for the work.

He was responsive in coming out to see the house for the estimate however when he was there I found him to be a bit condescending regarding the quality of my home and the floors. Figuring that maybe he just rubbed me the wrong way, I was eager to get his quote and move forward due to all the great reports on Angie's List. He did not respond to me, after one email and one phone call, with my quote for 9 days. He said I would have it in 2 days. His price was competitive but after the remarks about how everything in my home was done shoddily and the late quote, I did not hire them.

The whole experience was awesome. I called Jeff and he came out that night to provide me with an estimate. I received the estimate within 24 hours of his visit. I was then able to schedule him that next Monday to begin the project. The team was finished within 5 days which was the length of time quoted. Jeff called me to provide me with updates, answer my questions and returned my calls promptly. The total bill was the amount quoted. He even game me tips on how to care for my floors. Overall, the experience was fantastic. I would recommend Jeff and his team. My house was clean and you couldn't even tell work had been done except for my new beautiful floors!

Jeff Hough came out and surveyed the job and promised an estimate "within two days." After a week, we had not heard from Jeff and called him again. He once again promised an estimate "later today or tomorrow." We never received an estimate nor did Jeff ever call to explain why. He wasted our time! Given his favorable reports on Angie's List we were excited to have him evaluate our job. Jeff disappointed us by not submitting an estimate as promised - twice.

I never received the estimate, even after I followed up with an email. I never heard back from him.

I met with the owner to go over the flooring project. During our meeting I explained to him that my wife and I were only interested in quality work. We did not want a rushed job. The end result is fantastic. We are looking forward to having this company come back and do our downstairs floors in about a year. I am sure Hardwood Elegance has a lot of repeat customers.

Jeff was friendly and professional. He did a great job. More importantly, he was honest and told us that we should not refinish our kitchen as it was too thin and it would not come out well. He took money out of his own pocket while other quotes didn't mention any issues in doing the kitchen.

The job went as described and better than expected. The price was fair.

Jeff's estimate was significantly better than a few other companies. He was upfront with us about the inconvenience associated with the pungent polyurethane. He was able to work us into his busy schedule and start in just a few weeks after the estimate was given. He showed up on time and worked through the entire day. He was not bothered by our two cats - nor us - as we continued to live in the house over the entire course of the work in a portion of our first floor. He used a dustless sanding machine that definitely lived up to the billing. The only real inconvenience was the smell which was the worst in the basement. During the work, the outside temperature was in excess of 90 degrees. This had no effect on the work even though we had to have the air conditioning off for lengthy periods to allow the poly to dry. Both Jeff and his other employee were professional, friendly, and hard working. We highly recommend Hardwood Elegance Flooring.

Jeff was able to get out to our house pretty quickly to do the initial estimate and to explain his preference for oil-based finishes versus water-based. Once we had the start date set, Bob (Jeff's partner) came out promptly on the agreed upon date to begin the work. In fact, he showed up early. I periodically checked in on the progress and I was very satisfied with the care that Bob took in protecting our carpet and the clean-up he did each day when he was finished working. The sanding left so little dust that we did not need to do any real clean-up after the job was done. I looked for areas on the floor that I knew had been damaged by previous carpet installations. All of the scratches and nail holes were almost invisible. One stain in the floor of a guest bedroom had been completely removed, much to our surprise. My wife and I are extremely satisfied with the quality of the work and the price was very reasonable. We would definitely use Hardwood Elegance Flooring again.

They did a wonderful job installing the new floor, and refinishing the old floors. The floors transition seamlessly, and you can't tell the difference between the old part and the new. Unfortunately, they did rip up and break many of the original shoe moldings during removal, requiring replacement of moldings in the whole dining and living rooms, and entryway. They refinished using water based varnish, with significantly lower odor and faster drying time.

Jeff did a spectacular job on our floors, our home looks completely revived. He was tremendously prompt in returning the phone call and setting up an estimate. The estimate was very reasonable and we were impressed with his knowledge and professionalism. We were able to schedule the work while my husband and I were on vacation which greatly limited the disruption to our lives. We removed the furniture from our house and put it in a storage unit in our driveway. We left for vacation and came back 5 days later to our beautiful floors. Dust residue was almost non-existent. I had put off having this work done for a long time because I was nervous about the dirt and disruption. Had I known the process would have been this easy and the outcome this successful, I would have done it a long time ago!

They were on time, very hardworking, cleaned up after they left, and were extremely pleasant and competent.

Our job was not not a small one & so I think he didn't give us an estimate because of my race. I could tell when he was here that he really didn't seem like he wanted to take on our job.

The only thing I regret is that I can only give Bob's work and professional attitude an A rating. Surely he deserves much more! He put a great deal of effort into the little "extras" that make great service, superior service. My wife and I are delighted with the outcome. When we came back home we found the house spotless and the floor exceeded our expections. Bob also took the time to provide some good advice on floor care. The cost of the work that was done was considerably lower than we expected. This is a great company and I cannot recommend them highly enough.

This investment was so worthwhile! Bob came out on a Saturday to give me an estimate. I scheduled the work to take place the week before we moved into the house and everything was done perfectly on time. Bob and Jeff were both very nice and easy to get a hold of on the phone. The floors look absolutely beautiful--it's like a totally different house. What they were able to do with these floors, which Bob suspected had never been refinished in almost 70 years, is amazing. The guys left the floors and house spotlessly clean. No dust anywhere. And Bob even gave us advice about how to clean and preserve the floors. Great job!

Everything went very well. Estimate timely, started work on time had materials delivered, finished on time. Workmanship was excellent.

Jeff Hough, the owner, came in to look at the job and said he thought he knew what to do with the flooring and that he would get back with me. After waiting almost three weeks, I called back and he asked me to refresh his memory of my job. I did and he said he would contact his supplier and get back with me and it has been about a week and I have still heard nothing.

BOB WAS VERY KNOWLEDGEABLE, PATIENT AND I COULD REALLY TELL THAT HE PUTS A LOT OF PRIDE INTO HIS WORK.

Jeff arrived at the promised time for his appointment, and gave an estimate within 24 hours. He promised a "dustless" system to refinish the floors. We arranged a time for the work when we would be out of the house for 7 days. The floors look great and were completed on time. He charged us the agreed-upon amount, with only $20 additional for the cost of materials for an added repair which seemed fair and legitimate. There were many damaged areas in the wood before the work (it's an 87-year old house with a lot of wear) and we thought it likely not all spots and stains would be removed. The result exceeded our expectations, with only one small area of staining remaining. As promised, the work was dustless - we did not notice any residue. Jeff's communication style is a bit gruff, but we were quite pleased with the work.
