Jeff was wonderful to work with. He gave me a very good understanding of the condition of my floors and the work that would be performed. At the last minute I asked Jeff to add my stairs and landing. He performed all of the work while I was out of town and made sure it was completed and dry prior to my return. He even dealt with my inability to get my couch out of any of the rooms and worked around it being stood on end on a slab of tile in my entry way. In addition, Jeff noticed that the feet of my couch had nylon b**** and recommended that I remove those and add felt to the bottom of the legs to protect the floors. I am very pleased with the results and wish I had this done sooner. I will definately use Hardwood Elegance for my 2nd floor later this year.

We got estimates from three companies. We selected Hardwood Elegance because Jeff took the time to explain everything that had to be done and why. We have no complaints whatsoever. Jeff came in and performed a miracle. He arrived on time everyday and explained what he would be doing that day. When he left at the end of the day, he would leave the area clean and orderly. The floors are beautiful. My husband, who is normally the critic, was extremely pleased with the finished job. We are so glad that we chose Hardwood Elegance to do our floors and we would use him again.

While Bob also worked diligently on staining and finishing, we were surprised that we had to point out gouges and some very visible scratches after the work was ?complete?. He did straighten out the gouges but the worst of the scratches we finally just let go because we couldn?t go through more disruption of the household to completely strip it and redo it. We did not realize that the ?satin? finish would turn out quite so dull. We tried to set up a visit to see some of his work prior to beginning, but he were less than helpful on that score and we finally gave up and just trusted our initial read of Jeff at our home and the reviews on Angies List. We regret that we were not more forceful about insisting on seeing Jeff's work as that might have forewarned us about all the perimeter scratches from the sanding machine that are not sanded out and now show. Jeff also had told us that he would work up a sample for us prior to doing the floor and he did not. That would probably have shown us that we would not want the satin finish. We are also disappointed at the apparent sensitivity of the finish used regarding new scratches. We are very careful with the furniture, pads on chairs and such, but new scratches were appearing before Bob even completed his work. Jeff was sent all these issues along with our check at completion and never bothered to respond at all.

Awesome. Jeff and Bob, knew what I was talking about when I said that I had peg flooring. They had scrap to replace the spot where a wall had been removed. It looks fantastic. They fixed all the trim gaps including the ones around the doors and added shoe trim detail. They even fixed the missing trim around the fireplace. They even helped to chase down my dog that my husband happened to let out during the refinishing. (Way above the call of duty.) I will hire them to do the rest of the house when I have the money saved. The cost was slightly higher than estimate becuase I requested additional trim work. The extra cost was totally worth it.

The job went Great form beginning to end. Jeff told us exactly what he was going to do. The floors came out great. His dustless system is the only way to go. No cleanup after he leaves your house.

They were very knowledgeable and explained everything to me. Their pricing was fair as well. The quality of their work was very good and I was satisfied with his service.

He came when he said he would. He worked for hours in our unairconditioned house and spent extra time to make sure that the floor was clean between coats. He left the refrigerator out for two weeks at our request and then made a trip in to move it back. We are very pleased with the work and his helpfulness.

We had a wonderful experience with Bob and Hardwood Elegance flooring. Their estimate was in line with other estimates I received and we knew with Hardwood Elegance we were getting true craftsmen who take a tremendous amount of pride in their excellent work. We had no hesitation letting them refinish our floors while we were out of town and we came back to beautifully finished floors. Bob left our home very clean, considering all the dust and dirt involved in the project. He kept in touch with us by phone and he even came by and opened our windows for several hours after the job was complete, as to air out our home. We are really impressed with his work and we look forward to having him refinish our upstairs when our budget allows!!

Everything went well except the prices: 65% higher than 4 other quotes that we got in parallel. Hardwood Elegance may be great, but the other suppliers were on Angie's List with similar ratings, and had similar scores at the Better Business Bureau. I sent a message explaining the discrepancy and asked if there was a mistake, but no reply a week later. My wife sent a slightly different message and also received no reply. Would not deal with them with this kind of response. Maybe their name should be Hardwood Arrogance?

We had livingroom & diningroom floors sanded & fininished with 3 coats of polyurethane. The machine they used was virtually dustproof. We were amazed. The gentleman who did the job was very polite & a good worker, cleaning up each time he left to return the next day for another coat. We were very pleased with the work & with the price. We have had many compliments on our floors & we would recommend this company again & again.

Can't say enought about this company. The floors are absolutly perfect. Don't go with anyone else utill you get an estimate from this company.

They did an outstanding job. Two gentleman, Jeff & Bob, came that were professional and knew their stuff. They were courteous and prompt. The price was reasonable and better that what had been quoted. They did problem solving and gave limitations of resanding the old floors. He looked at a problem we were having and made recommendations for a problem that would have been costly and complicated to solve. They used a series of sanding machines, the best of which was a product as advertised the lagler trio, it's a random orbital sander. It did a beautiful job. We were told it was dust less not dust free. We were really surprised with the minimal amount of dust. The fumes were heavy and caused us to sleep elsewhere while it dried but the results will be worth it.

They did a wonderful job. The floors turned out gorgeous. He was there right on time and took care of the house (no one was living in it at the time). He was very careful and patient; it took me a long time to decide what color I wanted.

Their work was excellent. I would use them again and recommend them.

We've worked with Jeff before and knew his work is good. This time, we were purchasing a new home. It was built in 1927, and while the second floor was carpeted we were pretty sure there was good hardwood under. Once the carpet was gone, we saw that one whole bedroom had lost it's floor. The others were in rough but fairly intact shape. Jeff and Bob were able to lay a new 3/8" oak floor in the bedroom without a floor. The rest of the rooms were expertly patched. The sanding took about three days. They are extremely careful. The prior owners had done a floor refinishing and whoever did it really didn't understand how to do it. Jeff was very careful to repair the mistakes that had been left behind in the prior job. The actual finishing took another three days. Jeff suggested a very handsome stain that we are very pleased with. The finish is three coats, with two gloss coats under the final satin finish. The affect is to create great depth and beauty in the floors. It is an indication of the very high quality of the work that the new floor matches the 80 year old floors very well. Finally, Bob careful fabricated and installed all of the door transition strips and the shoe mold for all of the refinished rooms.

We had an old, unfinished oak floor that was quite the mess with bad patch jobs, old paint spills, and other questionable deposits. Jeff offered suggestions and options with two quotes depending on the extent we wanted repairs. His work is impeccable and he takes great pride in it. I found him very knowledgeable, careful, and professional. Jeff was never too busy to stop and answer questions about other types of flooring. I was pleased that his dustless sanding is indeed dustless! I didn't think our floor would turn out so well, it's beautiful and far superior to previous refinishing we had done elsewhere in the house. Not only would I recommend him to others, I would insist on it.

The results are unbelievable. The floor was in bad shape before he started. Jeff did all of the work and I would describe him as an artist. He was great to work with, he was always on time, got the job done, and was prompt in responding to all questions I had. He also left me a bottle of floor cleaner. I would highly recommend him.

I had a very good experience. Jeff came out the same day I called him. He really knows so much about hardwood floors. My cat had ruined my dining room carpeting, so it had to go. We didn't know what we would find underneath the carpeting [house built in 1922]. Jeff made the most of the condition my floor was in. He made small repairs in the wood, as needed and he made and installed the wood transition strips for 3 entries into the room. The result looks beautiful! He did his best to minimize the damage from the cat urine. He also knows a lot about older homes, as well as newer ones. I would highly recommend him!

My floors look beautiful! I am very happy with the color. We discussed the color and never looked at a sample, but everything looks beautiful. You cannot tell where the old floor meets the new floor. He told us this would be a dustless process and he was absolutely right! No dust to clean up at all. Sometimes he was hard to get a hold of but definitely worth the wait. He was very flexible with our schedule and he made that a priority for us.

Bob was a nice person and easy to get along with. Very good with customer care and concerns.

I called Jeff, he was competitive price wise with the other people I talked to and he came out the next day and measured everything. I picked Jeff because he could start the job within the week. I had a few different questions about the process and Jeff was able to answer all of them and steered me in the right direction concerning the finish. He showed up when he said he would, we stayed in contact during the process and I am very happy about the end result. He did all the little things right - pulled the doors, got the closet floors, etc. and the floor looks great.

Returned my call quickly and was honest that he would not be able to do it in my time frame. Some of the contractors I called tried to convince me to wait but he was honest and up front about it. He told me when he would be available and said that if I hadn't found anyone I could call him back to schedule that. I appreciated the honesty.

Fabulous experience! Jeff replaced a substantial amount of 12" wide heart pine Victorian flooring in our home. Jeff and his colleague are professional, honest, and a breath of fresh air to what one would typically expect from everyday contractors. This company takes the time to deliver a more than exceptional installation and finish job. Our flooring material was challenging due to the type of wood it was and the installation process. Jeff did an absolutely impeccable job installing, staining, and finishing our wood floors throughout our entire home. You will not be disappointed with this company, but thrilled with the end result! We would use Hardwood elegance again in the future and we would absolutely recommend Jeff to others who are looking for someone to install/refinish their hardwood floors.
