Donley Complete Tree Care

Mr. Donley returns his calls promptly. When he came to do the estimate, we found him to be very knowledgeable and helpful, and he did not try to sell more services than was needed. The pruning and removals occurred a few weeks later (had to work around the weather). He did an excellent job pruning as he was able to get the branches away from the house and still have the trees look natural. His crew did a very good job with clean-up in the yard and on the street; you wouldn't even have known the hawthornes had been there. He pruned another locust tree and removed part of a river birch for my neighbors, and they were also very pleased with Mike's work. He and his crew worked continuously for an entire day to complete the two jobs.

It doesn't come any better than them. They were neat, punctual, easy to work with. We have used them in the past.

They were just super. I couldn't believe how fast they completed the work; everything was done about ten days after the estimate was given. This is the second time I've used them and I will do so again. His prices are very reasonable and his service is excellent.

We were very pleased with the experience of dealing with this company. They were polite and responsive. They even contacted us after the formal estimate was provided to offer a discount. The discount was still as noted above a tad higher than the company used.

As always, Donley did a great job. When they arrived to work, I was contacted to confirm small details of the job. Was able to get my job done on the day I approved their estimate.

I called them on a Monday and they gave me an estimate the same day. They were out a week later and removed the tree. They cleaned up the area and removed some small branches from my neighbors roof. My neighbor and I were impressed with their work.

The shrubs were pruned so drastically, main branches lopped off near the ground, that they lost half or more of their foliage. One shrub was gone entirely, vanished without a trace. I called Donley about the missing shrub before I realized the others were ruined. I called again and got voice mail. No return call. The estimate was for trimming trees and treating pin oaks with iron in the fall. When Donley came in Nov, I told him I had to buy 4 new shrubs and the landscape man remembered where the missing one had been. Donley said he had already apologized to me. Not true. He didn't return my second call. He said he would return half my money but didn't treat the pin oaks. I have had the expense of new shrubs and have someone lined up to treat the pin oaks. The refund will not cover all that. This was the very first time i had felt obliged to submit a negative report on an Angie's List company.

I contacted Mr. Donley via email and the reply came the next morning. An associate was on the property to perform an assessment and draft an estimate at the appointed time. After we agreed on the estimate, the work was performed two weeks later, as promised. As there were special conditions for the dead trees, we met with Mr. Donley at the time the work was to be performed. It all was very easy, they are accessible at hours that are convenient to us, and work got done promptly and professional.

Because we did not have work completed, we cannot comment on the workmanship. But their estimate was fair and we were very pleased by their candor and professionalism.

They did an excellent job. They were done in a reasonable amount of time. My husband left for an appointment and when he came back home they were completely finished. They cleaned up very well. The roots started to come up above the yard, but they didn't leave the yard a mess. They left it in a way to seed it to start growing grass.

I would highly recommend using this company. He's very educated in regards to tree pruning. He offered suggestions we hadn't even thought about.

The job went very well. We had never used a tree service before and as we have many large and beautiful mature trees in our yard, we wanted a certified arborist. Mike Donley came and gave a detailed quote within days of my call. The work was performed within two weeks of the quote. The other certified arborist I called couldn't even schedule a quote for over a month. The work looks very good and the clean-up was thorough. Now that we've seen a professional pruning job, we realize we should have been using a certified arborist all along. We are having Mike back to remove another tree and transplant a Japaneses Maple tree from another location in it's place.

Mike came to give an estimate the same day I called, and then they came when they promised, did a good job and charged the amount in their estimate which was the lowest of three estimates I received.

The branch was trimmed off and the area was cleaned up.

We chose another tree service whose quote was substantially lower. Donley's estimate was in line with the other quotes I had obtained. I would call them again should the necessity arise.

It was a pleasure working with Mike Donley. He is a true professional! He was very prompt in returning our calls and was very helpful in drawing up a "game plan" for pruning and removing mature trees in our landscaping. He and his crew arrived on the scheduled day and executed the "game plan" to perfection. This project generated a lot of debris. Mike and his crew did an excellent job removing all of the debris. At one point, one of his crew members was on our roof removing leaves and debris from the roof and our gutters. If you need tree work done, look no further than Donley Complete Tree Service!

Mike Donley came out to give an estimate a few days after I first called. I ended up not scheduling any more estimates as I was impressed w/ his credentials, knowledge, and reasonable price. He said he would work-in my fairly small job within the next two weeks, and that's exactly what he did. He suggested cutting several limbs from the front-yard tree which could become problematic during a storm, yet would maintain the tree's lush appearance from the street... again, that's what they did. They completely cleaned up afterwards. We were very pleased and would definitely use them again.

I was very satisfied with the work that was done. The dying tree was removed and the stump was grounded out, so there is little sign of the tree being there. The two maple trees where the sod was removed and the area mulched look very nice. I talked to Mike Donley often on the phone, and while I never met him or any of the workers, there was no problem with communication. We were able to work out all of what needed to be done, get an estimate, and complete the work via the phone, so there was minimal impact to my work and personal schedule.

It was a very good experience. Mr. Donley was on sight and went over some of the other problems our trees were having, which I was unaware of. He pointed out some insect problems in a birch tree and gave me some recommendations on that.

Mike Donley is wonderful to work with. Upon first contact with him over the phone we discussed my concerns with all of our trees. Mike came out a couple days after my initial call to take a look around at the trees we discussed. I was out of town but right away upon my return, Mike came out again and walked the property with me, detailing and explaining everything about the condition of our trees and what he was going to do. Mike is very pleasant, knowledgeable, professional, responsive and sensitive to the customer's concerns. Mike and his hard working crew arrived promptly, early in the a.m. and worked hard for a very long day, getting all of our trees in beautiful condition. We are so pleased with the results, especially our neighbor who had the tree removed. The crew worked intently and all of our yards were thoroughly cleaned up with no sign that anything went on there, except for the fact that the trees all look wonderful! Great experience!

Quick, efficient, friendly, clean, fair. Even cleaned out my gutters.

They were on time, courteous,and very clean. They also had beautiful equipment that I am certain could handle nearly any job. There was no evidence of the trees having been there as all wood, leaves and stumps were removed. One tree was wedged between the house, fence and overhead wires. They expertly trimmed and tied each branch carefully lowering it to avoid these obstacles. We would recommend them without hesitation.

Mike couldn't have been better and a pleasure to work with!! He arrived on time for the estimate and all of the days he and his crew worked. Not only did he do all of my tree work but 4 of my neighbors hired him at the same time. Everyone was very happy! He spent 2 and a half days on our block taking care of everyone. you wouldn't have known he was there (except for the missing trees), our properties were left very clean and tidy. I highly recommend him, if you read this report, look no further, Mike Donley is who you should hire. Many of the other contractors I called from the list 1)did not return my call, 2)wanted to charge an estimate fee, even though their listing did not mention it. You will not be disappointed with Mike!
