Creative Lawn Care

They have been treating our lawn since Spring of 2013 and this lawn (new sod in 2012) has been getting progressively worse, with dead patches that will not even grow new seed. We at first thought it was the sod we had put in, but after reading reviews of this company indicating similar problems, we now wonder if the treatment may be the cause. Whether or not that is the case, their overall professionalism is terrible. They are rude on the phone, the person treating the lawn indicated on the paperwork left at our door after treatment that the lawn "looked good" when it clearly had many dead patches, and the company apparently has a pattern of poor service and responsiveness according to other reviews. Of special concern to us is the fine print of their contract that basically signs us up "for life" unless we tell them to stop coming. Other companies we deal with ask annually if service is to continue. This company continues until told to stop. Overall, we do not recommend doing business with them. There are too many choices out there to stay with a company like this one.

I have been using this company for several years. Last year my lawn looked terrible. My neighbor notified me that Creative was not going into my back yard. I called the company and the woman that answered said no that is not true, but did not send anyone out to check. I check the yard and there were no chemical granuales in the backyard so I know they did not treat it. This happened seveal times and my backyard was very weedy. My front yard was weedy and I had a bunch of dead patches throughout the year. I don't know if they were not treating with the correct chemicals or what but I am not happy with this service and will not use them again this year. They do offer a good price, but it obvious that you get what you pay for!

I just like them. They are cheaper than other services and they do exactly the same thing.

My previous lawn care provider gave me excellent service and made my lawn weed free. Unfortunately, the business no longer exists. I contacted Creative Lawn Care because they had sent me an unsolicited mailer. I paid for one season of treatments (6 lawn treatments plus 2 anti-insect applications. Since paying for this in February, my lawn received only one treatment; this is known as they leave a rolled piece of paper stick into the front door. I called them over a month ago, complaining about the lack of treatments and they replied that the treatments "should have been done" and that I was due for the next treatment "soon". I alerted my neighbors to the situation and asked them to notify me if they saw Creative Lawn Care treating the lawn. They did not see them and I have received no notification that they did treat the lawn. The worst of this is that my lawn looks terrible; I find new weeds each time I mow the lawn. This did not occur with my previous lawn care provider. I called Creative Lawn Care today and complained about the lack of service and requested a refund; however, the individual I spoke with ("Missy") could not tell me when I would receive the refund. Pressing her for my information, she finally said that I should contact them again if I haven't received it in "2-4 weeks".

My grass is dying!! I had a really nice lawn last year. This year there are large areas where the grass died and now there is just dirt. There are also many spots where the grass died. How did this happen? Creative claims to not know what happend, but will not put down any weed preventer while I plant more grass. I spent money for them to keep my grass looking good and now I have to spend money to get more grass. I would not recommend using them anymore.

In 2013 our yard had a few bare spots and a few broad leaf weeds. We wanted to get to get it in more pristine condition for a graduation party this June (2014). When the rep for Creative Care came out he seemed to feel that would not be a problem. As of April 2014, our lawn has greened up nicely and I am only seeing a couple of dandelions sprouting but I've had to rake fertilize and reseed the entire front yard. Our side yard is looking weaker as is some of the back yard except for where I re-seeded last year. I've always mowed the grass high and frequently as not to take off more than 1/3 of the blade, I watered as needed all to help the lawn along but it is definitely in worse condition overall compared to last year. I have since cancelled the service for this year and hired a new company.

The lawn is mostly free of weeds but the grass looks unhealthy in many places and awful in one area where a lot of it has died recently and abruptly, as it looked great in the fall. I took pictures, and they are quite dramatic, I have never seen anything like this in my yards. This has happened only in my yard, my neighbors' lawns are in great shape. I had to call twice to receive information on what has been applied since my bill was mysteriously lost. The second time it supposedly went to an "invalid" address. I really needed this information to call another service provider for help. This parallels another review on Angies list, and I think that there is a possibility that their applications have a toxic contaminant. The receptionist was quite defiant - she said that they did everything right, and could not be blamed. Initially I did not intend to blame them but now I do. I do not use any chemicals in my yard, so the only ones that were applied were delivered by Creative Lawn Care. If one uses a professional service one expects to be alerted to problems and given some advice on how to deal with them. There is not a mention of anything amiss on the bill that I received electronically.

Did something that killed my grass....said I had bugs but could not find them...not very customer oriented..woman who talked to me was not professional...do not hire

I am very pleased. They do a good job and respond back to inquiries in a timely manner.

I have used Creative Lawn Care for the past two years. They do great work, my lawn is in good health and looks great. We have had several of the neighbors compliment us on how nice our lawn looks. They are very cost effective, I could not do my yard myself for what I pay them to do the work. They are freindly and go the extra mile when they vist to do a treatment. We are able to pay early and are offered a nice discount. I would recommend them to anybody that wants to pay less and get a better looking lawn than you get with the big brand name companies.

We called to get a price and then set up for Creative Lawn Care to aerate our lawn. They had a very competitive price and said they would be out within two weeks to aerate when they were in the area. In about 1 1/2 weeks, they came by and did the work. They did a great job and left the invoice which I have since paid. I would use them again. They left information about lawn treatment costs (I do that myself) and there was no pressure like I've received before from the big lawn care companies. I will use Creative Lawn Care again.

They had very good rating from Angie's List member before, give them a year to improve my lawn, but it is getting worse. There's more weeds than before. I am very disappointed.

This spring I decided to switch my lawn care service, and talked to several companies. I chose Creative Lawn Care because I liked what I heard from them and the price was very good. I have been disappointed with them. With the weather we have had this year, my lawn should be healthy, green, and no major problems. I recently had a treatment done, and the technician indicated the lawn was healthy. However, when I went to mow after the treatment, I saw some weeds and several large brown spots in the backyard. Also, I have a lot more crabgrass growing then ever before. I would expect to have gotten some indication that there were issues that needed looked into, but that has not happened. A week ago, I sent an email to the company expressing my thoughts about how my lawn looked and asked for someone to come out and talk with me. I have not received a response. I am now going to look into switching providers.

Calls before coming. Always leaves information about what they did, what needs to be done and how much money the service call costs. Great company!

I was not happy with their work. I would rather go use another company than try and go 'back and forth' with a company that I am not happy with. I called to cancel last fall, but you can hardly ever get somebody from their "accounts" department on the phone. I just left my notice to cancel on their voicemail. Fast forward to this week. They come out and treat my lawn. I call and leave another voicemail saying I cancelled last year, and to please take care of the bill and give no more treatments. Today I talked to "Tess" in the accounting department. She stated that they have no record of my call last year, and further more, sent mail in January saying a treatment was coming. I don't have any control over how they process stuff off their voicemail, but I shouldn't be responsable for it. The mailing I honestly probaley over looked so that is my fault. I told Tess that if there was not a resolutation that I was happy with, I was going to come on angieslist and 'slam' them. She laughed and said they do not care about the angieslist reviews!! Can you believe that? A company not caring about the opinions of it's customers??? I wish I could say it surprises me with this company, but it doesn't.

Written to other Angie's list members who use these reviews as I do to easily and quickly make contracting decisions. NOTE: This is my first negative review after being an Angie's list member for several years. There are many service providers for lawn care. I used Creative Lawn Care for two seasons. My lawn was neither the best or worst lawn on my street where many of my neighbors use different lawn service providers. I was satisfied with the service but not elated. There are certainly other cheaper lawn care providers - I have received 4-5 offers on my door this week alone. The point being the consumer has many options. I decided to do my own lawn care this season and did not renew with Creative Lawn Care - ie, I did not send them a check to start the season as I had done before. Apparently they have an auto renew feature of which I was unaware - as I had prepaid for services in the past. After fertilizing and treating my yard myself I came home this past week to a bill on my door indicating that Creative Lawn Care had fertilized my hard - the bill was ~ $30 for one service. I called the company and after they returned my call spoke with a customer service representative. This person was extremely unprofessional on the phone and indicated that I should have known that my service would auto-renew. I expressed my displeasure with this system and with being asked to pay for services I did not want. I asked to speak with a supervisor or manager - I was told that everyone was too busy to talk to me. The representative then told me that she was busy that she would contact collections (the bill is less than a week old - and not overdue) and hung up the phone. After reviewing my paperwork from them in the past I can see that it states service is continuous unless they are notified - however, this is somewhat confusing for a consumer used to paying for the entire year in advance. So I will be sending a $30 check to Creative Lawn Care because it is easier than dealing with their customer service representatives. But, in the future I will choose another provider for my lawn. So instead of $200+ a year Creative Lawn Care in combined services has made $30 and a disappointed customer who will not renew. My point is this: The consumer has a lot of options for lawn service and many of these companies will provide a good looking yard. Choose a different company and save yourself the headache of dealing with a shortsighted company focused on a dollar today instead of a positive customer relationship in the future.

I am very happy with them. I've used them for several years and they do a really good job. They are a small company but they do a great job. I've used them for over 5 years. The experience has been excellent. They are always on time. They always do exactly what they say they are going to do. I never have to worry that they aren't going to do what they say they are going to do. I don't have to be here watching over them. They are very good. They are there to answer any questions or fix any problems. They will come to look at any problems even if it isn't time for them to come out. They put the client first. They are very friendly and great to deal with. I pay yearly and their prices are very reasonable. I will absolutely continue to use them.

They were great and they did a good job. They came when they were supposed to and they did what they were supposed to, and they were very nice. Their workers were very nice and professional. I would like to recommend them to others.

Last fall, I used this company to over seed and aerate my yard. This spring, my yard is in worse condition than it was last fall before they serviced it. It is filled with weeds and all bare spots have no new seed growth. I asked for a technician to come out and walk the yard with me and we scheduled an appointment. Guess what???...he missed our appointment and stated that he forgot about me. At the second appointment, he told me that he did not have any answers for me and that he would have the owner of the company call me. I requested a refund for last fall's service and again he told me that the owner would call me. Today, I called thier office and spoke to an office assistant. She told me that the owner never calls customers and that he has her make all the calls. She stated that they will not refund my money because they performed the services as requested by me. Hold on....I did not request poor seed, poor results, poor customer service and a poor attitude! I had an irrigation system installed last week and the owner of that company is going to pay for split seeding for my entire yard (not because he did any damage) but because he does not want my horrible yard to be postcard for his irrigation service. He called out another landscaper, who told me that whoever over seeded my yard last year did a horrible job. They did not kill off the weeds before placing down the seeds, which casued the seeds not to take growth. Poor service and poor product.....stay away!!!!

They make it very easy. Prior to spring I get a letter that if I prepay, I get a discount for the service. I pay one time each year and don't have to worry about anything.

They are responsive, reliable, and professional. I plan to use them again this summer.

Despite the delay, I think they did a good job.

this went south as soon as it was completed. first they did not call to set a date to do this job, the back yard was complety covered with leaves. the core aeration did nt even work, no plugs, the seed was lying on top of the leaves. they also did the round five of my yearly plan and had fertilizer all over the side walks and patio. I have had this problem before and the person at the office would inform the owner of the problem and stated that the owner was very strict on this issue, well it was the owner of the company that made this mess. i have done business with this company for years, and was complety stuned that tis company would do such sloppy work. I have called the office twice on this issue, and no one cares no return phone calls I told the person i spoke to to cut me a check for 94.95 and get it in the mail, said they could not do this. This last year of the lawn program 5 applications was not ver good, burn spots on lawn and other problems, nothing will be done about this report, they have 3 reports on the bbb and have failed to answer them, they have an f rating with the bbb

We are very happy with their service. Our yard looked very good in spite of the very hot summer weather. They applied the proper treatments at the right times of the year and were always very good in explaining what they did and why. Best of all, there are never any annoying phone calls trying to upsell us on products we neither want or need (unlike our previous lawn care company.) Overall, an excellent experience.

They actually send me a statement prior to the seasons start. I receive a discount for pre-paying. Because of this they will come as needed to treat the yard for any weeds or other issues.
