My Chimney Guys

I received quotes from patching the chimney to rebuilding it from several masons. Randy Wagner's quote was the best. He returned my initial call approximately a week later. The record rains earlier this year probably put him behind schedule but once he arrived at my house to do the chimney, he did a fantastic job all in one day. He is a very knowlegeable, honest and hardworking individual. I would definitely recommend him in a heartbeat.

I love them; they are knowledgable and friendly. Their prices are very reasonable.

I called Randy Wagner, he called me back right away. We had him come out and finish the chimney that the prior owners did not finish. He had to cut a hole in the roof and finish the chimney . We had all the bricks up stairs already so he did not have to lug them up the stairs. He did excellent work with the masonry work he did. He then came out a second time to install the piping for the wood stove we bought to put in the fire place. He stayed for about 45 min. extra explaining the do's and don't of wood stoves . He even lite the wood stove to make sure everything was ok before he left. We are very happy with his work and went the extra mile to explain things to us. Yes we will use his services again when we get another wood stove to intall in the other fireplace..

Before I moved into the house the inspector recommended I have the chimney tuck-pointed as soon as possible, as the bricks were loose and crumbling at the top. I called Randy for an estimate and he called me back and came out within a week. He said the chimney would need a little more than a tuck-pointing, and was very detailed in explaining what would need to be done. He was very polite and professional and when he gave me the estimate, he emphasized that he accounted for certain things that sometimes come up during the course of the job, so I could rest assured that when he performed the work there would not be any added-on costs. His estimate was much lower than one I had received a month earlier. I asked him about a more energy-efficient option for my gas fireplace insert and he told me about a few options and where I could get one. When I asked how much he would charge to install it he said he would do it for nothing since he would already be doing work on my house. I thought that was really nice of him. He told me he would call me as soon as the weather reached at least 50 degrees with no rain in the forecast (it was wintertime when I had the estimate done). He called me on a Friday in mid-April and said he could fit me in that weekend if it was ok with me, as Saturday was supposed to be a nice day with no rain. He showed up on time with his assistant. They worked from 10:00am until 8:30pm and finished the job. They cleaned up so well that after they left you would never have even known they were there, besides the fact that the chimney looked much, much better. I am very happy with the work performed and so is my neighbor, as he can now park in his driveway without worrying that a brick is going to fall on his vehicle.

Excellent experience! He was prompt, professional and very knowledgeable about his business. He shared his knowledge willingly and gave advice on when to schedule next cleaning based on the use and type of fireplace I have. I highly recommend using this company.

Mr. Wagner was not the most responsive person I ever tried to spend money with, but I guess that's par for the course these days. Once we had him engaged, he did what he said he would when he said he would. Very pleased with the results.

We were very pleased with the outcome and the look of it. It turned out very nice. They were pretty good in getting the work done in a timely manner. We would probably consider them if we need to get that kind of work done.

It was great. I had been having a difficult time finding someone to repair the chimney and its rusted cap, but R W and Sons was able to fix both of them without any problems.

The original job was to replace broken/cracked bricks and to seal the top of the chimney. During the repair, Bob called me to inform me that the top flue liner was bad and asked if he should go ahead and replace it. I agreed and the job was completed. Unfortunately I was out of town during the repair and after returning I did note that although everything appeared to have been done correctly, I felt there could have been a bit more attention to detail in finishing off the mortar work. It was not smooth and the cement work on the cap is very rough. Price was about average.

I don’t remember how much I spent for the job but it was reasonable. He was very professional. I had him put on a damper which goes on the top of the chimney rather than the bottom. I had a problem with it previously. Swallows were nesting inside my chimney. I wanted to prevent them from entering the chimney. I was very happy with him. He was really nice. I will call him back if I ever need to have any work done.

We had a great experience. We really liked the guy. He was very knowledgeable and went above and beyond. He did a really nice job.

I really appreciated his honesty. He could have come out and done the work every year and got the money from me, and I wouldn't have known the difference. I can not say enough nice things about him.

Being that we've used them three times, we're always very happy with them. They're very prompt and very reasonable. Mr. Wagner is the head of it and he's a really great guy. We always trust what he says. He has had to come back to our place not because of anything he's done wrong, but because we have a chimney that likes to deteriorate because it's not lined properly.

They were ontime for the estimate. The estimate was a good one. They were ontime to do the work. It looks great!

Masonry from my chimney had been falling off for some time. Bob Wagner came to give me an estimate very soon after calling him. He told me the liner was incompatible with the type of furnace I have; that caused vapor condensation inside the chimney, and the condensate froze in the winter. The following week he performed the work. He replaced the liner and the exhaust pipe from the furnace to the chimney, and repaired the exterior masonry that the freeze-thaw cycles had caused to decay. He also noticed that the flashing had become detached in some places due to the chimney's deterioration, and he reattached the flashing.

Bob came out for estimates within a few days of calling. He was on-time, friendly, and did not try to sell us more than we needed. We needed the crowns repaired on two chimney and an aluminum liner installed in one of the chimney for a gas furnace and gas water heater. They were on-time to perform the work and it took them around an hour and a half to finish. Bob answered his voicemails quickly and overall was very courteous.

This year I’m going to try somebody different. I think my chimney did need cleaned. I kind of wondered if he was just coming out for the $45. He charged me a service call for doing nothing. I wouldn’t hire him again.

If I ever am in need of a chimney sweep, Bob will definitely be the first person that I will call.

He came out right away and honestly told us that the job was not something he could do and walked me through exactly why. I've used him in the past and highly recommend him.

I called Bob regarding repairing the crown of the chimney. He was out the same day repairing it. I also mention when I called a cleaning and he asked that I call the following week to schedule. I called the following week and he came out the same day and cleaned before our new carpeting came in. He cleaned up and left no mess.

Quick and neat job. Bob showed up on time, removed the crumbling cement that was still there; cleaned up all the pieces that had fallen off onto the roof and gutter, and left everything very clean. He came when he said he would and the job was done in a very timely manner. Would recommend him.

Bob Wagner called back a couple of days after I left a message, saying it was time to remortar the chimney. Our old furnace, and lack of a metal liner in the chimney, causes the mortar to come out. Until we get a new furnace we know that we need to have this done every 5-7 years or so. Bob has worked on our chimney several times over the past 15 years. He is professional, friendly and I would not call anyone else!

Bob is a very friendly and knowledgeable person. Checked over everything very thoroughly and found no problems. A very trustworthy person.

Randy (Bob's son) came out to inspect the two fireplaces/flues in our new house. He explained to us in detail what to expect and how to maintain gas fireplaces. Because we wanted him to install the logs we'd be getting, he did not charge us for the inspection. We went on our own to order the gas logs we'd need, and Randy picked up the logs at the store. He brought them to our home and he and his assistant installed them quickly and neatly, and took some time to walk us through their parts and use. He took the time to warn us of specific maintenance concerns with the logs we chose, and what we could do if those turned up. Randy is friendly and helpful, very pleasant to work with.

I called him he came out. He was courteous and kind and on time. The job was all A's across the board. He was clean and respectful. I would recommend him to anyone. I have given his card to people.
