The Davey Tree Expert Company

I had tried to contact 2 other tree service companies from Angie's List with no response. I mentioned to a neighbor my problem, and she said Davey Tree was coming to her house in the next few days and she would ask them to stop by. They did and gave me an estimate. I was very impressed that they stopped and had them do the recommended work.

Representative came to house to evaluate blighted trees. On first visit, they weren't sure which trees we were asking about, and did not leave a note that they were at our property. This required a follow-up phone call and re-visit to evaluate trees. Once quote was delivered, work was performed as promised, and contacted us several times to schedule actual work, despite their busy schedule. Generally, we are happy with the service.

The cost seemed very high ($400) just to trim branches (there's no wires or buildings in the way), and they didn't even mention the insects, but did recommend additional services, such as deep tree fertilizing. I didn't like that they did the estimate while I wasn't home (that's the way they schedule them) because I couldn't talk to the guy about the tree.

They arrived ahead of schedule, took down the tree and completely cleaned up. They would have done work for us before, and they are always efficient and reliable.

Have used Davey for these items for the past 3 years. However they used insecticide on my back lawn by mistake and did not inform me. I will not have them use insecticide again as I have 3 dogs and cannot tolerate that mistake.

TOM MORGAN PROMPTLY RESPONDED TO MY EMAIL AND WITHIN A FEW DAYS LEFT AN ESTIMATE IN MY MAILBOX. HE HAS EVEN FOLLOWED UP TWICE TO SEE IF I HAD ANY QUESTIONS. I HAVE NOT YET DECIDED BETWEEN TWO OF THE COMPANIES I'VE CONTACTED.

THE MEN ARRIVED AT THE HOUSE AHEAD OF SCHEDULE AND WORKED DILIGENTLY WITH NO BREAKS FOR A FULL 8 HOURS AND DID AN EXCELLENT JOB WITH THE PRUNING AND TRIMMING. THEY DID A NICE JOB PICKING UP DEBRIS SO MY PROPERTY WAS IMMACULATE WHEN THEY LEFT.

DEAN AND THE DAVEY CLEVELAND WEST SIDE TEAM DID A GREAT JOB ON THIS PROJECT. THEY WERE QUICK TO RESPOND TO MY REQUEST FOR AN ESTIMATE, FOLLOWED-UP WITH A CALL TO EXPLAIN THE ESTIMATE AND MET MY REQUEST TO EXPEDITE THE SERVICE. ON THE COST SIDE, THE DAVEY ESTIMATE WAS WITHIN RANGE AND LOWER THAN THE OTHER ESTIMATES, BUT THEY CLEARLY DEMONSTRATED THEY HAD THE EXPERIENCE AND KNOWLEDGE TO REMOVE THE TWO VERY LARGE TREES BETWEEN MY PROPERTY AND MY NEIGHBORS. GREAT JOB AND A GROUP I WOULD USE AGAIN.

THEY DO COME OUT WHEN I CALL THEM AND I THINK THEIR PRICES ARE FAIR.

THEIR REPRESENTATIVE INDICATED IT WAS A BUSY TIME DUE TO RECENT STORMS, BUT THAT THEY WOULD MAIL ME A QUOTE WITHIN THE WEEK. I NEVER RECEIVED THE QUOTE.

GOOD SERVICE, VERY RESPONSIVE. WE HAVE USED THEM FOR YEARS AND HAVE BEEN CONSISTENTLY PLEASED.

THEY WERE GREAT! THEY TREATED ME PERFECT! THEY CLEANED UP AFTER THEMSELVES AND THEY GROUND UP THE STUMPS.

THEY WERE PROMPT. THEY CAME TO THE DOOR PERIODICALLY TO HAVE ME CHECK ON THE WORK. THEIR CLEAN UP WAS EXCELLENT. THEIR PRICE WAS CHEAPER BY OTHER ESTIMATES BY $50 TO $75. THEY LISTENED TO WHAT I WANTED. THEY SAID THEY WOULD DO THE WORK BECAUSE I UNDERSTOOD THE RISKS. OUT OF ALL THE ESTIMATES I WAS GIVEN, THIS COMPANY WAS THE ONLY ONE WHO MENTIONED THAT THEY WOULD NEED TO USE MY NEIGHBOR'S DRIVE FOR THEIR BOOM.

GREAT WORK, CAME WITHIN 24 HOURS, AND WOULD HAVE BEEN HERE SOONER EXCEPT FOR A WEATHER DELAY

HE HAD LEFT TWO LOGS NEAR WHERE WORK SITE WAS REMOVING THEM, CALLED TO HAVE HIM REMOVE AND CAME VERY NEXT DAY TO MOVE THEM.

VERY COMPETITIVELY PRICED. EXCELLENT COMPANY

THEYVE DONE GOOD WORK FOR US IN THE PAST, BUT THEY DIDNT LISTEN TO OUR REQUESTS. THEY OVER-TRIMMED OUR TREES AND SOME OF THE BRANCHES WILL NEVER GROW BACK.

THE PRICE IS PER TREATMENT. I HAD TO HAVE THREE TREATMENTS. IF IT RAINS SHORTLY AFTER APPLICATION (HOURS) CALL AND THEY WILL RE-APPLY. TREE WORK IS EXPENSIVE.

RESPONDED QUICKLY AND COMPLETED THE JOB QUICKLY.

ALLTHOUGH THEY DID AN ADEQUATE JOB OF TRIMMING A TREE ON OUR PROPERTY THEY WERE UNWILLING TO QUOTE OTHER TREE RELATED (STUMP REMOVAL) WORK ON OUR PROPERTY.

TOOK 3 WEEKS TO TAKE FIRST DOWN, (12/19) TOOK TILL 1/5 FOR 2ND.

THEY ARE VERY BUSY. CONTRACTED THEM IN JUNE AND DIDNT GET AN APPT. UNTIL LATE AUGUST.

DIAGNOSED 2 DYING TREES AS DYING BECAUSE OF DROUGHT. REMOVED THE TREES. THEN 4 MORE TREES DIED. WE FOUND OUT FROM ANOTHER COMPANY THAT THE TREES ACTUALLY DIED FROM BARK BEETLES. NOW WE HAVE LOST SEVERAL TREES THAT COULD HAVE BEEN SAVED. DAVEY TOOK NO RESPONSIBILITY FOR THEIR ACTIONS.

CONTRACT SPECIFIED TREE CUT TO 22 INCH PIECES SO THAT WOOD WOULD FIT INSIDE OUR WOOD BURNING STOVE, HALF THE WOOD WAS CUT TOO LONG AND WE LOST A WHOLE TRUCK FULL.THEN WE HAD TO WAIT 3 WEEKS FOR A TRUCK TO PICK UP THE LONG PIECES.

VERY PLEASED WITH THEIR SERVICE. DID A VERY NICE JOB.
