My 32 year old air conditioner died on me just before a major heat wave. I called Sal's and they had a representative out that morning to discuss replacement options. Jim was very helpful and knowledgeable and helped me choose an air conditioning unit and discussed payment options. I was told that they were scheduling 3 weeks out but I could get it installed that evening for $500 more. Considering I already called off from work for that day, the upcoming heatwave and the payment options, I decided to have it installed that evening. Two installers arrived after their regular day shift around 6-6:30 pm and got to work immediately. They kept me informed and were very pleasant. They were done with the job and out the door by 11:30 pm. It was exceptional service from beginning to end!

Removed leaky water heater, installed a new 50 gallon A.O. Smith electric water heater. One day later a water line started leaking. I called them back and they said the water line leak was not their problem and it would cost me another $1,000 to fix the water line. I already paid them $1250 for the water heater. I called another plumber who repaired the water line for $50. Needless to say, I won't be using Sal's again.

Really well. We needed a half split system as we have a 100 + year old house with a boiler and required air conditioning for health reasons. We didn’t want to have to deal with window air conditioners or removing the boiler system to replace with a forced air system; the half split was the best choice. Sal’s had the most reasonable bid and was very prompt in scheduling and installing. Every person we dealt with from Sal’s was professional, kind and had wonderful senses of humor. Grade A+ all around.

Installation 2 years ago appeared fine at the time. Air conditioner broke in less than a year due to a "mouse". Sal's said it would be $2000 for the part and they would not charge for labor. I got 3 other estimates/opinions all who said Sal's should have but didn't use thumb gum to minimize risk of mice. I also found out that the part was only $1250, not $2000. Sal's quote to repair my new air conditioner was $500 more than one of the other contractors. One of the contractors also noticed that when Sal's initially installed the air cleaner, it was installed upside down. When I called Sal's, they initially told me it didn't matter which way it was installed. I called Aprilaire, and they said that it did matter, and that it needed to be reversed. I waited another week for Sal's to call back, no call. I called again, and they couldn't schedule me in for 2 weeks because they were too busy. I had an 8 a.m. appt. which I confirmed the day before. I also confirmed that morning as I was going to be late for work. However, at 10:30 they called to cancel as the technician had a "family emergency." They could not fit me in the schedule for another week. At this point, it's been 6 weeks since it was brought to their attention it was installed upside down. Again, I had an 8 a.m. appt which I called to confirm. At this time, I'm told my appt. was "in the 8 o'clock hour which meant between 8-9". The technician arrived at 9:50, and reported that he worked last week and did not have a family emergency. The sad thing is I truly felt bad that something bad must have happened and I said a prayer for the technician when in reality it was a lie, they just overbooked customers. The technician repaired the upside down air cleaner, and when I asked for a new filter, he replied he was not authorized to give me a filter. I missed work for the two mornings that I waited for Sal's to come repair their mistake. The service manager said he would give me a filter, so I will let you know if I ever get a $30 filter for all the aggravation.

The tech, Al, called saying he would be arriving shortly. There was no set appointment time for the service, just sometime for that day. He cleaned and checked the AC unit and everything was good with it. It took about an hour and an half or so to complete the service check.

It went well however my main room does not cool well when it is above 75 degrees. They came out twice to investigate and said it was lack of insulation.

Came promptly, very professional, and gave much information.

They were on time, did not try to add services to increase the amount and completed the work very efficiently. The techs were friendly and experienced.

Their work received a compliment from the inspector and their price was competitive.

Excellent service, efficient, kept me informed by phone of arrival time.

Job looks well done and professional, however, the techs didn’t share any info regarding the new hot water heater; not very personable; just installed the unit, I paid, and they left.

The repair man did a nice job and I would call them again for service.

I had a leaking gate valve that was sweated on copper pipe. They cut it out and replaced with compression valve ($7 Part at store). They initially tried to charge me 8 times the amount for the part but I refused because I know better. After calling their supervisor, they reduced price but still charged 4 times the amount for the part. I paid to get problem resolved. I won’t be using them again because I don’t like rip off artists. In this profession, it customary to mark up price on parts (maybe double the cost) but that was really ridiculous and I can’t trust them to do fair after this experience.

It was terrible. I would never use them again and never recommend them to everybody. I'm not very happy at all with their service.

Absolutely horrible. Had to waste two unpaid days for this. First day they gave me a time and didn’t show because they ran behind. Second day they finally came and said the deal that I purchased wouldn’t work even though I gave them all the specifics before hand. Please go with any other company but this one. They are the worst and should be shut down.

We had this same toilet installed at our home (and now the condo we owned). Good deal and they do a fine job.

Aprille Air was suppose to be installed 3-8-19. Customer service rep called the day before to confirm appt. No window of when they were coming. 3-8-19 customer service called at 1:00pm Telling me they had no idea when they could come , had many “emergencies “ that day and if I wanted to reschedule I could. Completely unacceptable especially because the job was suppose to take 4 hours. Also I waited 5 weeks for this appt. The minute I called them back at 3:00pm to ask they still told me I don’t know when we will come??? I explained my situation of waiting and needing to go to work that evening and they offered to reschedule next Thursday at 1000am!! Unreal. I said I would contact Groupon for a refund. Apparently they do not care and said I could do that if I wanted to. I contacted Groupon and requested a refund. When I called back to let the company know I was canceling they wanted to send someone immediately. I will NEVER contact Sal’s Hearing and Cooling again for any services! Horrible Customer Service!

Unfortunately we woke up on a Sunday morning in the middle of winter and noticed the furnace was not working. High that day was going to be about 30 degrees. Called Sal's H & C and they said they could come out and it would be a 99 charge for emergency service on a weekend. I had no problem with that and figured that would be the case. The tech came out and was very nice. He found that the hot surface igniter was bad. He looked in his pricing book and said it would be 290.00 to replace. I thought wow, that's a little excessive especially after seeing the part. I said if we had waited till tomorrow what would the price be and he said 185.00. i thought that was a little extreme of a markup when they were already charging the 99 for the emergency service call but i was kinda stuck. i couldn't very well go through the rest of the day night without heat and risk having frozen pipes or something. The job only took about 45 minutes from the time he got here to the time he left. After he left and i paid the final bill that was $420.12 i thought i would look up what the part itself actually cost and i found that the price of the exact same part ranged from only $18 - $25 depending on where you got it from. So for argument sake if the part was $25.00 that means they charged me $265 for not even an hours worth of work (it probably took him only 20 minutes of the 45 minutes he was here to actually remove the old part and install the new one. I'm in the wrong business. The tech was very professional and i did not have a problem with him. He does not control the prices but what I do have a problem with Sal's taking advantage of people when they are stuck in the middle of winter with no heat to line their pockets. And to top it all off, they wouldn't use the Angie's list coupon that they have. The tech said they are not good on the weekends for emergency service and he said it states that on the coupon. NOT, i checked the coupon that i had printed off this site and makes no mention of not being good for emergency service. it only states that its not good with any other offers. Will not use them again.

Arrived on time and worked quietly while I was doing my work. Surprised they were able to replace it in the winter but all went well, inspection passed. Courteous and professional they were even when calling to ask a question. A+ in my book.
