D&D Moving Inc

It went well from our initial meeting. Derrek was friendly and professional from the first time we met and was very accommodating regarding the openness of a date for our upcoming move - we did not have an exact date for moving due to my husband traveling so much with work, but had a window of a few weeks. When we confirmed our move date we planned to move over two days (we were moving with a newborn and toddler), however, there was a storm moving in so it was decided to pack everything up in one day. We went ahead that evening and stayed in a hotel that night and the truck arrived the next morning as planned. The guys were very professional and fantastic with our kids. We honestly felt like we could trust them from the second they come through the door. We thought we were ready when they arrived, even though we had a few boxes left to pack (i.e. things for the baby etc. that we were using) -- the first movers we used a few years ago were so slow -- that was not the case with D&D Moving. The guys had our stuff packed up in record time; it was almost overwhelming at how quickly they had everything on the truck; but everything went well and we would not hesitate to use them again or recommend them to others.

Overall the experience was not that bad (we moved several times in the past, so we had something to compare it to). Right after the move, the only negatives were a big scratch on one of our nice chests of dwarers (for various factors - too busy, etc, we never addressed it with them, and now I deeply regret it, we should have) and a table that they forgot to put back together (also didnt leave the screws, we had to call them and they brought the screws later). However, yesterday (4 months after the move) our king size bed collapsed. When we went to fix it, we realized that the supports for the matress are not screwed into the frame. And, of course, we dont have the screws. For now we managed to put the supports back in place and put the mattress back on (which wasnt easy considering the size and weight of the mattress and the fact that we had to spend a lot of time under the bed making sure the supports are in place). Now we have to find the screws that would work for this bed, and at this point of time we are not sure if we can just get them at Home Depot (would be nice). The supports and the frame have deep holes and we are not sure if simple screws will work. Again, overall the experience wasnt that bad (I still flinch every time I look at the scratch on the chest of drawers though), but overall we believe that the professionalist and level of care could be better for the company with the reputation that is pretty good. We are surpised now, tha majority of reviews are really positive, however, I cannot give them an A after our bed collapsing yesterday. Overall the word "negligent" comes to mind. We will not be hiring them again and we will not be recommending them.

There were excellent across the board. They were very curious and professional. I thought they went above and beyond and even helped load stuff in my car.

They stepped up as we were not as ready as we thought we were on the day of the move. they handled it with ease. We had 2 trucks one going to our new home in North Ridgeville and 1 truck going to parma heights and Parma to leave of items st our children's homes as part of our downsizing effort. I would highly recommend for any move.

We were happy to receive the recommendation for D&D Moving and see they had a high rating on Angie's List. One of the owners came to give us an estimate for moving. We chose to hire three movers for our same-day in-county move. The movers arrived on time, previewed the stuff to move and began immediately. They found our new house easily as well. They were courteous at each location, and asked us where we wanted everything at the new place (they even moved a mis-labeled box after bringing it into the house). They finished much earlier (about an hour) than stated in the estimate, and charged us less due to taking less time. I gladly recommend this moving company.

It went very well. They were quick and efficient and most importantly didn't break anything!

Initially, everything went smoothly. The lady working in the office was super nice and helpful, and seemed to offer a fair quote. The movers showed up on time, seemed pumped up to get work done, and managed to get everything out of the house very quickly. However, things got stickier at the new place. I did my best to direct the movers to get the items into the correct rooms. However, one large piece was obviously too large for the home and obviously too cumbersome for the movers. Flooring and walls and ceilings were damaged by this large piece, and because of the time spent figuring out how to manuever the large piece our initial quote was no longer. It ended up costing nearly $400 more than the initial quote. I paid, and then emailed the nice lady I was originally dealing with. She asked for photos, which I sent, and then offered to have the damage repaired or to partially refund us. I sent an email stating whichever was more cost effective for them, and never heard back. They never followed up. I'm not angry about it, I just probably won't go with D&D again in the future.

We got several other estimates, but decided to go with D&D. They were not the least expensive, but competitive. This was one of the best decisions of our out of state moving experience. They were exemplary from the first phone contact in September 2013 to the final hand shake in March 2014. Every member of their organization is professional, courteous and helpful. Derrek, the owner, Suzanne, who runs the home office, and Patrick, Mike and Jimmy who headed our move from Ohio were just invaluable in providing comfort during our out of state move. They are available to answer questions prior to the move, they are prompt, polite and professional during the move and I would highly recommend them and would never consider using anyone else in the future!!!

One time and efficient. No damage all goods handled well and with care. Men and office staff were pleasant and easy to work with and accomodating.

The workers were wonderful. It was very emotional and the guys were fabulous. I would definitely use only them in the future, especially if I could request the same group of guys.

Excellent service, friendly movers, very helpful, nothing damaged. We particularly liked that the same men loaded up, drove the van, and unloaded.

I contacted D&D regarding moving a couch to my basement. They advertised two men and one van for $88 per hour. When I notified them that I accepted their offer and requested I be added to their schedule, they refused to honor the advertisement indicating that they have a three hour minium. However, their was no indication on their web site of a three hour minimum. After complaining about this false advertisement, they refused to provide service. It is a shame, because I have used these guys before and the actual movers were pretty good. The repsonse of D&D is unsurprisingly inaccurate and misleading. First, I never spoke with anyone over the phone regarding this matter. Second, it was explained via email that despite a listing of $88/hr on the website, there was actually a three hour minimum, plus travel time, and $20 fuel charge. Further, my noted comments satirize any offered price above their advertised price of $88 per hour, and clearly indicate that I was misled by their website into believing the price was actually $88 per hour when in fact it is not. I simply request that D&D modify their website to make these charges explicit, as other moving companies that list prices do, so that others are not misled in the future. Moreover, the owner of this company is currently attempting to retaliate against me and my company for this review, which is even more unprofessional and unreasonable than the original advertising incident.

The overall experience was great. We had to change our date a couple times & Derrick was most accommodating. We ended up with one month in storage. There were a couple scratches in dining furniture but nothing major. I would definitely recommend them.

The movers were right on time and one even stopped to help one of the residents who was having trouble with her room key. My mother did not have a lot of furniture: a bed, recliner, glider rocker, cupboard, two light tables with lights and a wooden TV stand. They had everything out of her place in Rocky River and to my place in Bay Village within an hour and a half.

We could not have been happier. Derrick and his crew are top-notch. I've moved interstate many times, and this was the easiest time by far. (And the cheapest.) We had only a few days to find a mover, and Derrick got us an estimate quickly. His men showed up promptly on the day of the move and worked quickly and carefully. Although we didn't have an address for delivery, Derrick had no problem letting us call in an address once we found a place to live in a couple of days. The company was accommodating and personal every step of the way. The truck arrived on time in Florida with no damage to any of our property, including our baby grand piano. The price was spot-on and we'll below any other quote we obtained. I would use these guys again in a heartbeat, whether local or long-distance.

They just did a fabulous job the two men were wonderful they did everything I would have expected and more. They were very friendly and polite. We really appreciated that they were able to take our vehicle on the truck with our furniture as well so everything arrived at the same time. Everything came back in great condition considering the long move. I would use them again if I needed to in the future. I have also recommend them to my neighbors who are planning to move as well. I interviewed a few comapnies before picking them and their prices were actually the best.

D & D had a good rep on Angie's List AND a coupon for money back so I called, and a women, who was very nice, scheduled us and explained about D & D. I was impressed with her and the estimator who came out, so we went with them to move us. They were punctual and friendly, but there were some problems: Some of the items were damaged because of sloppy packaging and some items weren't even packed! They left stuff in the garage and the basement. My nephew (26) was at the old house trying to keep track of things because I couldn't because I was sick. They told him they couldn't take my office desk apart. They also told my husband they couldn't figure out how to do it, so they moved it partially apart and partially still together. And, they didn't assemble it at the new house ~ they just left the parts in my new office. When my husband tried to put it together, he found some of the screws were stripped. They unloaded so fast my husband couldn't keep up with them. That shouldn't have happened because, on all the boxes we packed, I indicated which room boxes should go in -and- . And, ALL the boxes they packed were labeled. But, the labels were ignored and they overwhelmed us with unneeded questions!

The job went great! Three guys were sent out to help us move very heavy cabinetry and granite. The guys did a great job sizing everything up and got it all in the house undamaged. The granite and cabinets weighed a ton but the movers stuck with it and got them in the house. They were polite, puctual and professional. I would definitely use them again.

It went well. The only blemish on the performance was that dirty (grease) hand prints were left on the mattress where it was held. Otherwise all was excellent.

They did an excellent job. It was a very friendly moving crew. They got the job done as it was specified in previous discussions.

Because we had such a positive experience with D & D when my mother-in-law stored her furniture there, we decided to use them for our move. We had the Dream Team!!!!! James, Jason, Anthony, Chad, and John did a fantastic job. They were a very professional crew and VERY hard working. Their work ethic was second to none!!!! The team was also very easy to work with, and friendly. Their organizational skills really made this move easier for my husband and myself. We HIGHLY recommend D & D Moving and Storage!

It is very rare to get service, quality, and value, but that is what we got when we used D&D Movers. The two men that moved us could not have been more accommodating. If we changed our mind regarding an item their answer was " no problem". Suzanne, in the office was so kind and patient with us. Derek, the owner, was always available throughout the process to discuss all the details. I am not one to write reviews but I was so pleased with our moving experience that I had it on my " to do" list the day after the move. I highly recommend D& D Movers.

I contacted the provider, Derrick Supple, of D&D Moving. Mr. Supple scheduled an appointment to estimate the move's costs. He provided an estimate and indicated that he could provide some boxes. The estimate was good so we contracted with D&D Moving. After we contracted with D&D Moving, Mr. Supple indicated that the boxes would be dropped off a couple of days later. It turns out that this message was never communicated to the person designated to drop off the boxes, Mr. Supple's father. After a call, the issue was cleared up and the boxes were delivered. As the day of the move approached we were confused about whether the trucks would go to the storage unit or the house or because of two trucks to both places. We called a couple of times but the response was always a bit confused, frequently needing more information than was available to the person answering the phones. On the day of the move, we simply decided to go to the storage unit and both trucks pulled into the facility at the appointed time. Once the process started, it went quickly and smoothly. Unfortunately, I can't recall the names of all the young men that worked that day, but they were all polite and professional. While it was defined as a four person crew, with the crew chief it was in fact a five-person crew. Still, the charge was a four-person charge. The crew was responsive to our concerns, for example protecting the floors and placement of items. One item, a particle board computer desk, was unable to be completely re-assembled and the crew chief provided a rebate for the problem. Overall, the project went along smoothly and it was slightly under the estimated budget. The only hitch to this was the communication during the process. Once the move started, the service was delivered with courtesy and professionalism. We would use D&D again and we will recommend them to those who ask.

They were excellent! Not only were they on time and professional, every mover assigned to my move worked extremely hard and was very polite. They went the extra mile and then some. They removed part of the fence in my backyard to move the hot tub to my back patio and then put the fence back up. No matter how difficult items were to get in my house or backyard - they found a way to make it work. They even moved out the refrigerator that was here to put in my refrigerator - which required taking the doors off of the refrigerators to move them in and out of the kitchen. They hooked up the water line to the refrigerator, they hooked up the washer and dryer and even the tanning bed. After they were done bringing everything in and setting everything up, they asked me to go through the house and if I wanted anything moved to another place in the house that they would do it before they left. The price was very reasonable as well.
