D&D Moving is quite simply amazing. We were so impressed by the level of customer service they provided throughout this entire process. From the first phone call with Suzanne, who was just as professional as she was friendly. To the actual day of the move, during which Dan, Joe and Chad were absolutely awesome and went above and beyond at every turn. I've never actually written a review for a company before but these guys were amazing and deserve to be lauded with praise!! I would not hesitate to hire them again and strongly recommend them to anyone who is moving.

The movers were right on time and worked extremely hard all day. It took about 7 hours to move all of my many things. They were very organized and worked well and efficiently together.

I am a senior citizen who hired D&D for a move to Columbus on 6/13/19.I wish I could be writing a positive review on this company.Every business has things go wrong, however, if you work with the customer for a happy ending, it results in a great business.I am very hurt by the loss, damage and belittling.Every morning I hope they will correct what happened.I was moving from an older home with smaller sized rooms. With the design of the home and furniture still in the house, we stacked sealed boxes around the furniture.I have medical conditions that can affect my walking.I could not move safely in the home if I had to walk over items. If the movers felt that the house wasn’t ready and a safety hazard, then they should have declined the job. There were many sealed boxes ready to be moved as well as all the furniture. We were told that if boxes were not sealed, then they would not be moved, but that is not how things ended up.I did not beg for items to be packed onto the truck. When I was unexpectedly told that loading time would be cut in half, I identified items that were important, but other items were moved instead. My adult daughter even helped move sealed boxes from the basement for the movers. The most disheartening loss is my set of carousel horses. This set was a project that my deceased husband and I worked on together 35 years ago.The horses were restored by a carousel company and had complete stands. The movers reassured us that they could transport them, so I agreed to have them moved. They were one of the last items to be disassembled by the movers and put onto the truck. When the horses were unloaded and placed in the front hallway of my condo, one of the stands was incomplete. We asked the movers about the missing pole. The movers’ response was to put the stand that was complete into the garage, take the pole off that stand, and bring that pole into the house to put on the stand that was incomplete. This gave us the illusion that the missing pole was found.I contacted the owner about the missing pole but he did not make this a priority. He waited 6 days to ask his employees, which was after I sent a follow-up text. Each of the 4 movers had a completely different story about the pole which I believe was left on the truck and discarded. The owner was going to work with me to correct the situation. There were positive conversations that lasted for several weeks during which I was very ill.I was made to feel that there would be a solution to the problem.I was even asked by the owner’s assistant, Suzanne, about what can be done to make this right and she requested exact measurements of the missing parts via email. The end result was the owner dismissed this issue and and belittled me because some texts to my daughter went to him due to delayed messaging problems on my Ipad.I understand that items can get misplaced during a move and later found, but it is very hard to misplace a 2 ft long pole. For the remainder of my life I will regret not going into my garage to check on the other carousel stand.I made the mistake of putting my trust in D&D.These horses were going to be passed on to future generations.I was also concerned that possibly a box had been left on the truck containing my glasses and I sent an email because I had received someone else's bedding set in a box as well as someone else's socks in a wardrobe box which are both reused.Other damage: paint scraped off all doorway edges and embedded into antique table and other furniture, hardwood floor damage, parts lost from antique chair, knicks and deep gouges in many pieces of furniture, lost attachments to my vacuum, almost all shelf pins lost, hole in mattress, hundreds of spools of threads all tangled, and paint scrapes off my restored glider. The movers had no electric drill making the disassembling of my Harden hutch difficult. The owner was not present during the move.Unless D&D corrects this,I strongly would not recommend them due to the amount of loss and damage I sustained.

Response from D&D Moving Inc
The circumstances and conditions when we showed up to move were unbearable the employees felt bad due to the fact of Ms. [Member Name Removed] begging them to take what they could. Nothing was ready or prepared things were everywhere the guys had to walk over things just to move the items she wanted boxes open not sealed nothing packed properly. We even received multiple text messages that Ms.[Member Name Removed] sent to us by accident instead of her daughter looking for things she couldn't find. that they moved !!!!!! Angie's List doesn't allow us to post pictures or the text message to support our side. PLEASE SEE ALL OF OUR OTHER REVIEWS WE STAND BEHIND WHAT WE DO AND OFFER GREAT SERVICE ALL THE WAY AROUND.

As a trustee for a local church & school facility, it became necessary for me to get a non-functioning three-door refrigeration unit moved out of the kitchen when I found out a new unit was expected to be delivered the next day. Needing to find same-day service, I contacted this company. The dispatcher was courteous, professional, and understanding of my time pressures, as was the moving crew, and arrived on site within two hours. The moving crew had the job done within 15 minutes. After getting the Freon extracted, I needed to have them come back to do a second move out to the dumpster. They again arrived when promised, and provided same-day service. I plan to call them again, next time I need moving service.

The actual move went pretty well. The only drawbacks were the movers took two air mattresses that we asked them to leave, and they nicked the wall in a stairwell. We needed the mattresses to sleep on the night after they loaded our beds, and had to spend $100 to get two new ones. Our main problem with D & D is that the owner, Derrek, who came to our house and gave us an estimate evidently lied to us about the cost of the move. He gave us a binding estimate and explained that this meant that D & D couldn't charge us more than that amount ($6,473.92) unless we had more stuff to move, but that if the actual weight was less than his estimate of the weight we would pay less for the move. He also volunteered that they were required to get a weight for an interstate move. Either before we signed up with D & D or shortly after we signed I spoke to Derrek on the phone and asked him if our cost would be less than the estimated cost if the weight was less than the estimated weight, and his reply was "Yes." After the movers unloaded and we were all tired Patrick said we owed them $5,973.92 (we had already given a $500 down payment), and we gave them a check for that amount, thinking that we would get the actual weight and cost later and also even up with D & D later. About one to two months after the move we tried to do this. We got a runaround about the weight. Finally, Derrek suggested they didn.t get a weight, and anyway it was a binding estimate. My advice is to not trust Derrek. If you use this company make sure everything you are told is written clearly in the contract or in an addendum that is signed by Derrek. Also, record all conversations with Derrek.

The 2 guys that did the job were awesome. They were the most caring movers I have ever worked with. Area's around my new home are were still under construction and when the movers arrived at the location we found that the builder was having the driveway black tops and they were pouring some concrete which made the movers wait till they were done. The lead guy from D&D gave the workers "What For" (nicely) and informed them that we were paying them to move us not wait on paver's and cement trucks. LOL When it came time to pay the bill "Joe" deducted the time they had to wait for the road workers from the bill. They took very good care of our belongings and when they arrived at the new home they even put the furniture in place for me so I did not have to move it around again later on. All total it took 3 hours to load and unload my belongings. I would highly recommend D&D moving and storage to anyone and everyone. Trust me you won't be disappointed at all especially if Joe and Brandon are the guys doing the job.

D&D were great from coming out to give an estimate to leaving on the moving day. They charge by the man hour but on the moving day, they added a man for no additional cost. The estimate was on-target (actually we paid $100 less). They were careful with our goods. Very responsive to where we wanted items placed in the new house. They were super concerned that they lost 1 "nut" for a bolt on a futon. The movers were friendly and professional. I hope not to move again for a long time but I would definitely use them again.

Everyone showed up on time and were professional. It took 1.5 days to pack everything, and they did a great job! The amount of protection each item was wrapped with, and the filler in each box to ensure its' soundness was incredible. We had new laminate floors installed on the ground level in the GA house before the move and upon arrival, D & D laid down cardboard in the aisles and pathways to prevent any scratches or damages to the new floor. The carpet on the stairs up and the aisle way on second floor were covered with cellophane wrap to protect that as well. Four persons were needed to unload the truck in GA in one day. Two of the employees who helped pack drove the truck to GA. The 2 packers and 2 locals from some regional pool were used to unload the truck. The 2 employees and 1 of the locals were very careful unloading; but 1 of the locals was not as cautious, and bumped 1 piece furniture into a wall and scratched another piece. That was the only damage we experienced. Given the size of the move and the distance. we are very happy. Overall, D & D did a great job, and I highly recommend them.

D&D was great! Derrek was awesome and great to work with to get the move ready. Then the guys who did the move were so polite and took great care of all my items. I have moved 5 times in 3 years and they did the best job. First time nothing was damaged. I felt very comfortable with them. Moving is stressful, esp out of state, and they made that part go easy. Thank you!

Upon dealing with D&D's office, there was no resolution possible. They and made bookings between the time the estimate was done, when I confirmed to him that he had the job on the Thursday, and finally on Friday afternoon. When I finally got Derrick on the line directly, he first said that I had "given his office staff a hard time because of the dates". I explained to him directly that there had been on indication from him on Tuesday when he gave the estimate, nor on Thursday when I told him he had the business, that there would be any problem with the timing. In fact, all dates were clearly stated on the estimate. He proceeded to push back on me that there had been no contract signed, and I had given no indication that he would have the job. He said further that he gives estimates all the time that never get responded to, so they have to schedule bookings when they come in. I explained again that there was no indication that this may happen, never told to let him no by that afternoon, or the next day, or whenever. I even told him on the day of the estimate that I would have a decision in the next day or two, and still, not indication of any problem with booking to meet our time line. To add further insult, Derrick insulted me personally by saying I mistreated my wife while going through the estimate process. I would approach this company with caution if this is how they treat their customers or potential customers.
Description of Work: I contacted Derrick at D&D Moving and Storage for an estimate, which he provided on Tuesday, May 2nd. He reviewed our situation, which involved both a short haul pack and move followed by a pack and storage move, and completed 10 months later with the final move to our new home in North Carolina early next year. He provided the estimate quickly which I received by the end of that day. I called Derrick on Thursday, May 4th to tell him he had the job. I received a call from his office on Friday, May 5th, at noon to tell me that they could not meet our move date until some time into June. Our problem was we had a June 1 close date on the sale of our house. Derrick made no indication that there would be a problem meeting these dates, and left the impression that the plan discussed would work.

D & D did a fantastic job on our move. When they first did the estimate they thought they could use one size truck, on moving day they showed up with two trucks just in case. Everything worked out fine and they were able to get everything on one truck. They gave us a very fair price, answered all of our questions and concerns. They were very punctual both in moving us out of our prior home and arriving at our new home. When we requested to change or move in date to an earlier date D & D was very accommodating. I would definitely recomend them.

We did not have a single negative issue. We finished unpacking and unpacking and did not have a single broken item. The expert way everything was packed from our furniture to our dishes and display items (and there were plenty of those) made the 525 mile trip with ease. My wife's Lexus was also on the truck and arrived in perfect condition.

It was a great move! Our realtor recommended D & D Moving and we're glad they did. They sent James' crew of four and two trucks. We had two drop offs with items to my son and daughter about a mile away. Everything went very smoothly. The men were VERY neat and clean and worked fast. Because of their speed the cost was well under the quote. Very highly recommended.
