[removed member name]- Concrete Pros, LLC is not in the habit of responding to negativity that has no bearing on our business or the work that we do but is of a personal nature. However, Angie’s List is a public forum where people are able to review a company and say what they want, true or untrue, so we do, however, feel the need to respond to outrageously misconstrued facts and opinions which are evident in your review. A review which is written a year after [removed member name] (the homeowner) project was completed. This project was started on 6/23/14 and completed 6/28/14, not 6/1/14 which you stated in this review. Activity of each date is detailed further in this response. It should also be noted that you are not the homeowner nor were you the husband or listed on any type of documents at the time the project was completed. John is very thorough about the process and what to expect and spent a lot of time discussing the project with you and [removed member name] in the months prior to Florida. Most of the discussions were with you as [removed member name] gave you permission to take over the project. John was very reluctant to do this project due to the fact that at the initial meeting, you were showing him other projects that had been done in which you were going to sue past contractors. However, he is confident in his ability and in his Company and he seen no issue. The setup of everything was discussed with you in detail. I even sat with [removed member name] in her kitchen the day the project was started and helped her pick the color of her patio. Prior to the pour, you could clearly see the design layout. John, again, discussed the details with you. Specifically the steps meeting the driveway. Every material was discussed and is listed on the contract. The entire project was set up according to North Royalton city code and both pre pour and final inspection were passed by the city and Keith, the HUD inspector. In fact, the HUD inspector was very pleased and told us it's one of the nicest driveways and patios he has seen. [removed member name] signed the contract on 4/18/14 and was told that we were about 2 months out, weather permitting, with our schedule. Because [removed member name] was financing this thru her FHA Rehabilitation funds, you were requesting us to try to get it in earlier because of how the loan is issued. I found they could only issue 30 day increment extensions. We told you we would try but did not promise anything. I told you I would contact you several days prior to the start of the job. You continually called and I gave you updates. We were able to start the project a little early to accommodate the terms of the loan, however, at that time I informed you that we not only had to wait for inspection, we had another job that we had to finish up. We tore out and set up [removed member name]'s job on 6/23/14, on 6/24/14, early afternoon, pre-pour inspection was completed and passed, it rained on 6/25/14, on 6/26/14 we finished our other project we had started prior to [removed member name]’s (as you and I discussed) 6/27/14 we poured [removed member name]’s job, 6/28/14,we saw cut, pressure washed and finished [removed member name]’s job. You were instructed to stay off it for 5 to 7 days. You never went two weeks without a driveway. There was not a week in between set up and pour. We have timecards, concrete tickets and inspection records to back up everything. Including allotted time to stay off, you went 10 to 12 days TOPS. You had also asked us to cut out a section on the far end of the lot and lay gravel down to use as a driveway to get in and out of. We did it for you free of you charge. You paid nor offered nothing. You did not need to use your neighbors driveways, as you stated. Relative to the stamps for the patio, we did not have a pattern you wanted, you said you knew someone who did and that you could rent them. We said OK. We don’t know what you paid for them but you asked us to provide you with a receipt for them for $250.00. Per John, stamp rental is $100.00, so we don’t know how you came up with $250.00. I also refused to provide you with a receipt since you did not rent from us and they were not part of an expense that we incurred for [removed member name]’s project. We never told you we were pouring the day after set up because we had to wait for inspection which was not until the next afternoon and we had to complete another project scheduled before you. The guys worked the first day until 5:45 and there is no inspection available that late. I PERSONALLY TOLD YOU THIS! Customer service and keeping you informed was there every step of the way. With the exception of the rain day, the project went exactly as we told you it would. Communication went wrong when you got upset with me because you wanted me to add the cost of the stamps to our paperwork for the lending company so you could get some extra money. You kept requesting the concrete tickets with dollar amounts. I told you we are a legitimate company and that I will only forward documents to the company that pertain to the work we did and additional expenses we had that were pre-approved. We provided all tickets with all material used per the contract to the lending company. I then informed the lender of what you requested me to do, they informed me that you are not a spouse, you are not on the loan and not the homeowner and that I was not to deal with you relative to documents or anything relative to processing of payment for this project. I have emails that back this up. Relative to our driver, we had a new driver and he was pulled over for taking a commercial truck thru a non -commercial route. Unfortunately, that was the only route to [removed member name]’s home. So we are not sure how you came up with our driver had no “air brake license” we don’t even know what that is. A CDL license is also not required to drive that truck. Also, there were no neighbors outside observing the situation. It should also be noted that we have Chevy and GMC pickup trucks and a small dump truck so you had no “BIG” trucks all over. Relative to surface cracks in your patio, ask any concrete contractor, it is not uncommon for surface cracks to appear in concrete and there is really no fix for it. One thing concrete is guaranteed to do is crack. Concrete does not chip off because of water freezing. It can chip off due to salt and using metal edge shovels to break the ice off which the contractor is not liable for. John and I are very adamant about informing every customer of this, especially with stamped concrete. Our contracts also clearly state “Do not use salt or calcium”, “Do not use metal edge shovels”. You never contacted us with any problem relative to chipping concrete. Relative to the sealer spilled in the neighbor’s driveway: It was not sealer, it was Xylene and it evaporates and causes no damage. YOU told your neighbor John spilled sealer. John talked to her and told her the truth and she had absolutely no problem. Relative to what you said regarding John picking up payment and me being asked to leave the property: John never comes for payment and I was picking up the payment at the Lender’s office the following week after [removed member name] signed off on the paper work (which we did as a courtesy). Final payment is due when project is completed. However, these were different circumstance and we were accommodating. I was there specifically to meet Keith, and give him the paperwork to review with [removed member name] that showed the 6 ½ sack mix and the clean out fee, per her request. This information was already provided to and approved by the lender. When I arrived, the inspector was there. You then came out [removed member name] and I informed you I have been instructed not to speak with but with [removed member name]. [removed member name] then came out and I told her the same thing. She then said you could stay there and say what you want. I spoke to Keith, reviewed the paperwork with him and then I left. There were no vulgar words exchanged by anyone nor did you have me removed from the property nor was I asked to leave by ANYONE. I conduct myself professionally at all times when dealing with customers. Your statement is a blatant lie. We have pictures of the job from start to finish and that’s great that you do to. We would love a copy of the video if the quality is good. But the only recollection our employees have is of you and [removed member name] peeking out the front window the day of the pour. [removed member name]’s project came out great [removed member name]. We even gave you $1,100 of concrete FREE. We don’t cut corners, we use the best materials and our workmanship is spot on. Relative to your review, I find it very comical the fact that you had to inform people that we would have a “spin” on this situation. People who are not truthful, usually have to pre inform others that someone will say something else. We are not perfect but we do take responsibility and own our mistakes. We made none here. We are a professional company with a great reputation. Our reviews and customer satisfaction rating speaks for itself. It’s unfortunate that we sometimes have to waste our time to defend ourselves against lies and allegations. We wish you and [removed member name] the best. Lori Joyce Office Manager Concrete Pros, LLC
