 + -1 moreIt was fantastic!!! We were very impressed with Tracy's level of knowledge and I was so grateful to him for his patience. I asked a million questions and at no time did he make me feel bad about asking them. He answered completely and thoughtfullly. He put my mind at ease and even gave us clues and suggestions about things to look for in the future. He even donned a jumpsuit and went back in our crawl space. I would hire him again in a heartbeat! He also provided a written report complete with pictures and his seal so that we would be able to use the documents in the future if/when we sell our house.
Description of Work: I noticed several cracks in our basement support wall, cracks in the outside brick, and also outside on the concrete by the garage. We called Tracy to come and look and let us know if we were having structural issues or if this was normal for a 30 year old house.

 + -1 moreTracy came out in late July to inspect the house inside and out. Other than the crack at the corner of the house, everything else looked great. There was no damage inside the house when the corner and quot;settledand quot; a few years back. At that time a foundation company (now out of business) had put a pier under that corner. We couldn't find the paper work to show us exactly where the pier was actually located. Tracy came out on July 31 and brought his son. Together they dug down (in about 100 deg weather), trying to find what type of pier was put in. That horrifice work was not a part of Tracy's job description. He did that out of the goodness of his heart. Also, unlike other structural engineers, Tracy's price included a formal report whereas other engineers charge an extra $300 for a written report. Tracy's report will go with the deed when we sell the house next spring. The report will go a long way in helping us sell the house.
Description of Work: Inspection of large crack in bricks and mortar on outside of house. and inspection inside for possibility of cracks or bowing in basement and other interior walls. Dug down through the dirt to inspect a pier and furnished a formal report on all findings, which will go a long way in helping us sell the house.

His report included photographs, his expert opinion and suggestions for future monitoring. He will be the first person we call if the situation changes or any future structural engineering issues/questions.

He was very prompt and professional, did a thorough inspection inside and outside the home, and explained things to me so that I could understand his recommendations. He also emailed me a PDF report. It was money well spent to allay my fears about the condition of my house.
Description of Work: I hired Mr. Mitchell to perform a structural inspection of my house and foundation, due to some large cracking in the walls and shifting of the house.
