Based on concerns of the home inspector, I hired a structural engineer to check out the house I was considering. I have no experience with home ownership and wanted assurance I was making a good decision for my son and my first home. My realtor gave me a list of structural engineers he worked with in the past. Tracy was my second call. I left a voicemail for the first person and did not get a return call. Tracy answered the phone, asked questions I could understand and answer and an appointment was made only a few days later. I met him and my realtor at the house. Tracy was extremely prompt and got immediately to work. I appreciated how he checked out every area of the home, not just the ones identified by the building inspector. He took the time to explain to me in terms I could understand, any areas of concerns and how to fix them, without me feeling talked down to. His written report came quickly and I felt confident proceeding with the sale. I would Use Tracy again and will recommend him to others.

We were impressed with the services we received. We had what we thought was "erupting" concrete in the garage of our home, around a support pole. Tracy Mitchell came out within the week. He fully assessed our situation, took pictures and submitted a detailed written report. Our situation was that the rest of the garage floor had settled some (30 yr old home) and around the pole it stayed at the original elevation, making it seem higher than the rest of the floor. Tracy Mitchell then proceeded to inspect our basement and the external walls of the home, concluding that it was solid and in very good structural condition, with no settling of the structure. Some cracks in foundation wall that leak a little are not structurally concerning and he suggested how they could be addressed.

Tracy arrived on time and spent over an hour checking our large crawl space, explaining his findings, and also sent a written report and photos. He was very professional and charged a fair price for his level expertise.

He made suggestions on how to repair current issues, recommended people he trusts to do the work, and assured me that there were not serious structural concerns. Before leaving, Tracy asked if I wanted him to look at anything else, and he offered his insight on both the deck and vaulted ceiling at no additional charge. He was knowledgeable, friendly, and professional. Knowing that I was against a tight deadline at the end of my inspection period, he had a written report over to me the next morning. I recommend Tracy for anyone looking for engineering services.

It went well. Mr. Mitchell responded quickly and set up an appointment. He arrived on the scheduled date and performed the inspection. He then sent us a written report with his conclusion a couple days later. He was very professional and I would recommend him.

Corresponded with Mr. Mitchell several times regarding a crack in the foundation of a home we were considering purchasing. He was extremely professional, knowledgeable, and prompt. Due to some issues with the seller we never got to the point of inspection so I didn't get the opportunity to use Mr. Mitchell's services.

Tracy responded to my request the same day and provided answers right away regarding his pricing and scope of services. His scope included a review of any and all structural concerns and a written report. He was available to provide a structural review of our home very quickly, was punctual, and answered the questions that we had regarding our new home. We walked the perimeter of the home as well as the interior, and he reviewed whether or not any of the cracks we saw were normal or of concern. He also identified which walls were load bearing so we could make decisions regarding future renovations to the home (he also advised on how to support one of the load bearing walls if we were to elect to remove it in the future). The basement also had some issues with seepage, and he advised on proper repair of one of the foundation cracks. After the consultation, he provided the written report as promised. We were very happy with his professionalism and the peace of mind of having a structural review of our new home.

Tracy was very professional & knowledgeable. He offered us multiple cost-effective solutions to our problems. He was also willing & able to answer other questions that we had during the walk through, about our upcoming remodel. We received a written report within a couple of days. If we need a structural engineer in the future, he will be our first call.

Not only did he do a thorough, great job with the services I asked for, but also he gave us some general ideas for our project we are about to undergo plus answered some other structural questions about our home. Pricing was upfront and inexpensive.

Tracy did a wonderful job with the structural inspection he performed. When initially contacting him, Tracy seemed familiar with the structural problem I was describing, and after asking me a few questions about the home, was able to explain to me what he anticipated the fix to be. Although he was late for the inspection (but called to let us know his eta), the inspection went well (our Realtor met him at our home) and we we received our report within the promised time frame. The report itself is incredibly detailed and contains both text and photos of areas of concern. Tracy was even able to recommend contractors that would be able to help us fix our issue if needed. I felt like his cost was the most affordable of the inspectors I researched and included the report (some other inspectors charged extra for the report). I hopefully won't need another structural inspection in the future, but I would definitely hire Tracy again if we needed him!

Tracy came soon after calling and was right on time. He had excellent suggestions and was very professional. The report was prompt and consistent with our conversation. A few years ago, needed a structural engineer who was pricey and not very prompt. Tracy provided far better service. I will surely use him again for future projects. He has my personal "super service" award!

Tracy was very thorough, getting into crawl spaces and basements to ensure he was giving me accurate advise. He showed on time, wrote a sufficient report, and was very easy to work with.

Arrived promptly and gave excellent advice and recommendations for a repair service. Provided report in about a week.

He was quick to respond and schedule appt. arrived on time and priced reasonable when compared to others that we looked into. It was difficult getting the report back via email and delayed start of our renovations. However, unable to determine if it was a problem on our end or not. Each time I reached out to him in order to obtain the report he was very quick to respond.

He called to let us know he was running a little late but was on the way. After he arrived, he inspected our crawl space and took photos of the area that needed work. He communicated very clearly what the problem was and how it could be fixed. A few days later we got a written report that had drawings that indicated where extra joist supports were needed.

Tracy refused to come out and give an estimate, also tried to tell me that since he does a lot of work for the builder that built our house, that there is probably nothing wrong. He is biased and I believe wants to keep his business from said builder coming in...

Nice report, advised nothing needed to be done at this time. Monitor for further issues in the future.

The report was detailed and looked good to me, but we haven't listed our house yet, so I can't say if it will help us make a smooth sale, but it seems like it should. I have never used a structural engineer before, but based on some internet searches, Mr. Mitchell's price is very good.

We hired Tracy Mitchell to give us a written report on the condition of our foundation and basement. In addition to preparing the written report, Tracy Mitchell told us, in terms we could understand, lots of information about the ominous looking cracks in the basement walls of our 50 year old house. Now we know which cracks are evidence of a larger problem, and which ones are more cosmetic. He also pointed out some things we hadn't noticed before. He advised several options of how our foundation could be repaired, what work did and didn't need to be done, and even gave us a rough "ballpark" idea of what such repairs should be expected to cost. This was money very well spent, for now we can shop the repairs with several contractors, and we have knowledge about the building and what is actually needed. He was prompt, professional and highly knowledgeable.
