The Davey Tree Expert Company- Cincinnati & N Cincinnati

I have used Davey Tree before and they do a good job. This time it seemed like the communications and responsiveness wasn't coordinated as well as past experiences with them for some reason - maybe this was a busy time of the year for them??

Overall, the experience goes well. I live in a wooded area, so keeping the trees away from my home is a priority. I'm very pleased with this company. Their price is competive. They are always prompt and clean up well afterwards, and they basically do a good job. I'm happy with their services and I would recommend them to others.

I did a little extra and told them what I was doing. I was concerned after our drought this year that the grass wasn't coming back. I added additional lime and fertilizer as soon the rains came back. They were able to come and evaluate the lawn and a stressed tree at the same time within 24 hours of my call. They were very informative of what they saw concerning both my lawn and my sick tree. While they have not been hired for tree care specifically, they have added treatments to another tree that had magnolia scale. Overall, they are mostly a silent, behind the scenes provider, and I would prefer they be more forthcoming about their knowledge of lawn and tree care, but overall, I think they do a nice job and we will continue using them.

Davey did a great job for us taking down a large cherry tree in our yard. They showed up when promised, did the work quickly and well, cleaned up and were on their way in about two hours. Their bid was also substantially lower than the two other A rated companies who gave us quotes.

We had them out several times to do work. It was a very positive experience. We were pleased with their work.

We have used them in the past and they have always been on time, efficient, and very professional. We called them about the large tree that had fallen in a wind storm. They asked if it was blocking anything, i.e., was it an emergency that they come out. It was not, so we scheduled it for the follwing week. They called the day before to reschedule as it had to be changed due to rain. It was re-scheduled and they arrived on the day, at the time they said they would. They worked all day and was finished and cleaned up by 3:30 in the afternoon. They are not the cheapest tree compnay but they do the best work and you can count on them.

I am not a lawn care person and lawn fertilization is a real bag of worms. I try to keep my contract low; I only have them come out five times a year. I had a problem last year because they put down fertilizer right before a huge deluge so I called them and they came back and re-fertilized.

I switched companies partly because of the price and partly because I found a company that was more personable. I?m doing off-site maintenance and there has been a lot of work to be done. They are professional and prompt but the price is too high for me. I continue to use Davey Tree Expert for lawn fertilization.

They have very good service. The tree was in a dangerous position and they were able to come out and take it down safely. They cleaned up after themselves very well. We ran into no problems with the project.

They do a great job mowing and trimming my lawn each week. They are timely, and I never have to contact them. They never let the lawn get too high before mowing, even when the weather plays havoc with their schedule. I can always count on them to arrive before the lawn gets out of control. My lawn always looks good after they've completed their work. They blow all grass clippings back into the yard and are respectful of the street and neighbor's lots. They do the job as well as I would do it myself, which is always my barometer. They do a great job and really allow me to focus my spare time on things other than mowing the lawn.

They were efficient and the work was done in one day. We got three estimates, which were almost the same. Their prices are competitive. I was not at home that day. When I came home the tree was gone, and the house was intact. I guess they were good. Their sales manager could have been friendlier, because I had a lot of questions to be answered and all they were asking was if we wanted them or not. On the other hand, I understand they have pressure while working and they need to hurry up. They could have responded sooner. They came on time and did a good job without messing around.

Davey's did a most exceptional job and we were very pleased with the way they handled our contract with them and would use their services again should the occasion arise.

It was about $1200 for them to come out the first time and about $450 for the second time. They were supposed to take out all the dead wood. They did this during the winter, and they said that they would be able to tell what was dead and what was not. When spring came, many of the branches were dead. I called and he came back to fix the problem for me. The price, punctuality, ect., was fine, but I thought the quality was lacking. I will probably try someone else in the future.

Davey came and took down three large trees from our front yard. They walked through with us to identify which trees should come down, and then a crew came about a week later to take them down.

He is very polite and very thorough. He lays out a proposal and explains why. He has a crew that comes out and helps him. He always cleans up and branches or leaves.

Davey Tree has been mowing and trimming my lawn for the past three years. I have used other mowing services in the past, with so-so results (showing up late, not doing quality work, having to be called, etc.), but Davey Tree is doing an excellent job with my yard. They are prompt each week and there hasn't been a time where I had to wonder when they were going to show. They do a good job mowing and trimming, even to my high standards! I am very happy this season and continue to recommend their mowing services. The price is higher than most, but given the high quality and the promptness, it is worth it to me.

They showed up on time. They cleaned up all the tree branch and wood when they were done. It only took them half a day to do all the work for me. They are very friendly when they are there.

JACKSON and JOE showed up promptly on time, organized all their tools and started work. They were polite and friendly with my husband, answering any questions he had and continued to work throughout the day. JACKSON and JOE did a great job, they worked well together and make a good team in a profession where you have to rely on your team members for safety and success. They knew what they were doing. They made it look easy.

The work was fine and the price was reasonable. I thought they did a good job.

I called for an estimate. "Tom" was so aggressive and rude that I canceled the estimate. ($1000.)

I was completely perplexed by this seeming lack of concern and non-service by a company I'd used for lawn service in the past with normally good results. I was basically being blown off as a customer, even though I utilize other lawn services from them and had for several years. They continue to do a fine job with their other services, but in this case I had little choice but to switch service, because they didn't seem to care about my issues or concerns now that it was summer, long past the time when edging and mulching should have been done. I did not care for the lack of follow-up on their part or their seeming lack of concern when I did call three different times to inquire about scheduling. They left me little choice but to switch to another company for this service. Very confusing and upsetting, as I normally rave about their service. I only hope they continue to do well with the other services I've purchased from them.

First, it took almost 3 weeks, to finally do the work. This was a problem, since the fallen tree lay along the sidewalk and also was covering the grass, resulting in some browning. Second, clean-up was not done well. Third, they removed the honeysuckle, which was supposed to be trimmed back, and did nothing to the honeysuckle that was supposed to be removed. For the one they mistakenly removed, they left a foot or more of the tree trunk, protruding from the ground. To remedy the situation, I asked Davey to remove the correct tree, remove the full trunk stump from the one mistakenly removed & also to plant a tree or bush in place of the tree, they mistakenly removed. They returned to remove the correct tree, but nothing has been done to remedy the situation, for the tree that was removed by mistake. They sent a bill, which I have not yet paid, since they have not fixed their mistake. I've used Davey many times before without a problem, so am surprised by this poor quality and service.

I did have some trouble at first getting an estimator out to my house. I spoke with someone at the office who said an estimator would call me back that afternoon. I did not receive a call back and called several days later to follow up. There must have been an honest oversight. An estimator was then scheduled and came out on time. The estimator was very straightforward, prompt, polite, etc. He quickly evaluated the tree, determined that it was structurally sound and not a cause for major concern (e.g. catastrophic breakage during severe winds). He recommended that the dead wood be removed and that some of the branches be thinned out in order to reduce the drag and to allow strong winds to pass through the tree more easily and with less resistance. The tree is easily 40-50 feet tall. The estimate was for approx. $900 for the trim, cleanup, and removal of all debris. I have not yet asked another company for a competing estimate.

Wonderful. From the initial estimate (I wrote a separate report about that) to the service. My yard is promptly taken care of. When all the dandelions started sprouting everywhere this spring, my lawn was completely dandelion-free. They do a great job!

Professional experience from start to finish, on time, met all expectations, excelled at clean up, Made some recommedations afterwards about some cable work in future. Two brothers working together. Great team.
