Red maple in front of the house was dying off on the top. Davy diagnosed this as a common disease that was killing the tree. No known cure for this. Recommended trimming off the dead branches for the immediate time but if the tree continued to die, recommended cutting it down and replacing it with a tree that was resistant to the disease. Offered to do this work and grind out the stump. Tree was not very large and we decided to do the trimming ourselves and hope for the best. If the tree needed to be cut down, we could do it. We decided to cut down the mower damaged tree ourselves. The estimator was on time, very professional and knowledgable. We have called Davy before and they have done work for us previously. This job turned out not to require further services and there was no charge for the diagnosis. We would not hestitate to call Davy for future work. We have always had good esperiences with them in the past.

Just had an interesting experience with this company. We hired them to prune some trees a few months ago. The work was done on time, and we were satisfied with the work; and we haven't had any contact with them since. However, they just knocked on my door telling me they were here to fertilize the trees, a service I had not scheduled or agreed to. I told the guy that, and he said, it must have been a mistake, and he left in a hurry. Just to be sure, I pulled out my paperwork from the tree pruning, and fertilization was an option on their quote sheet, but I had not chosen that service. So wondering if I didn't happen to be home at the time, if the trees would have been fertilized, and a bill left on my door? Seems a bit shady.

The contact arrived on time and was very professional. He looked at the 3 trees I was having issues and told me that two of them would have to be removed. He gave me a price for removal of trees and stumps. I very surprised how reasonable the price was So we setup a time to get that work done. He informed me we could still most likely save the Big Tree in the front and recommended a treatment of the tree to build it's strength and then un June we will have it injected to kill off the EAB. He also checked some other tree beetles I was worried about and informed me they were not the asian beetle and I was happy to hear that. I was very happy they treated the tree promptly and all with a price that I though would be allot more. I would say if you think that calling a large outfit like this is way more expensive then the guy down the street you should give them a call and I think you may be as surprised as I was.

Now, we can seat back and enjoy it now. It was so nice staying on the deck and so we’re ready to put the porch furniture out and just enjoy the result of the work. Over the years, they removed several years and last year they removed one large maple and an ash tree and they took down some arborvitae back here on our courtyard area that we were revealing and then they came in with their stump removal and remove it. I cannot tell you how much we paid for but the price is acceptable and agreeable to us. They clean up after themselves.

They had no follow up. Specifically, they told me that they would dispose of the debris left over from the stump grinding and follow up about planting new trees, but they never did contact me. They never returned to collect the debris, either. Most likely, I wouldn't use them again due to this fact.

The work was fine, just more expensive than most. Because the tree was faily close to the house, decided to accept the higher cost. Took several weeks to get scheduled though.

Hired Davey to do our cleanout, weeding and mulching of flower beds. Their workers came and decided spreading a half inch of mulch would be sufficient. Instead of pulling weeds they piled mulch on top of them. Problem is the 1/2" of mulch is not nearly enough and we had weeds within 2 days. On two sides of the house they dumped the loads of mulch on our good plants and the weeds. They destroyed the plants and the weeds grew through. Their rep came out and looked and had the crew come back out. They did another p*** poor job and now we even have poison ivy in EVERY SINGLE FLOWER BED. Have never had this problem until we used their company to mulch. Its obvious it was brought in since they did the entire clean out right? After the mulched I could still see the bags we had placed down the year before to prevent weeds popping up. Thats right, they didnt even mulch some of the areas!!! Also while edging they went way too far into the lawn and scalped our grass destroying it as well. Its been 2 months and out flower beds look like they havent been touched in 5 years. They are completely overgrown because Davey did not pull weeds or mulch properly as they were contracted to do. Also they have a $50 referral program for each paying customer you refer to them. I referred 3 customers to rep Thomas Weidner and after 3 months had just 1 credited to my account. Talk about a bogus program. Send Davey customers and they will rip you off on landscaping and never credit your account while they gain new customers. Dont worry Davey, they will be leaving you VERY shortly. I will be taking this claim through the BBB and Clermont County small claims for not performing the services as contracted and property damage. STAY FAR AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY!! You will be very sorry if you dont. Read their most recent reviews, this company is going in the tank QUICKLY! Avoid this company!

We wanted to have a large oak trimmed. We used Davey about 5 years ago and were satisfied with their work then. Had a good initial meeting with the arborist/sales person, but it pretty much went downhill after that. The written quote was detailed and I thought a good price. A few days later I called to set up the trimming. I was told by the sales person I got the initial quote from that they didn't schedule any work until they had the signed contract. So, I said I'd mail it in. But a couple days later on a Saturday - and before I sent it - he called and wanted to schedule the trimming for the following Monday morning. I said we were going out of town for a week on Sunday, so that next week wouldn't work. There was a moment of silence, which I interpreted as irritation with not going along with his plan. Why was it suddenly OK to schedule now when he still had no contract in hand? I don't know, but I said any day in the two weeks after our return would work, and I'd send in the contract, which I put in the mail that same day. We were back in town by the next Saturday, but got no call for scheduling that week. The following Saturday the sales person called, spoke to my wife, and scheduled the trimming for the following Friday afternoon. I had informed him at the initial meeting that we were adding on to the house, part of which was under the tree, and needed to have the trimming done before July 2. So, he scheduled it for the last possible time, with no leeway for unforeseen delays or bad weather. That Friday afternoon came, and by 3:00PM they hadn't shown up. I called the company and the sales person called the crew and then called me right back and said that they weren't going to make it out that day. He said he'd check to see if anyone was working the next day (Saturday), but by then it was pretty clear to me they didn't care to have my business, and I was pretty fed up with being strung along, so I declined and canceled the contract. They may do a good job when you can get them there, but just getting something scheduled seems more trouble than it's worth.

Davey was hired by our community to take down trees. They cut down 1/ 2 the tree and left it on our yard for almost a month. I thought killing our grass was going to be our biggest concern after that much time. But it got worse--I came home from work today and found tracks from machinery as if they spun out on the grass along with huge divots. Significant amount of bark and tree was left behind as well. I would never hire them and am amazed based on what i have heard about their higher prices they charge that they felt that they could get away with this. They plan to make repairs since we called to complain but it should have never occurred in the first place.

I saved an ash and $300.00, got mulching and weed prevention as well as lawn fertilization for a very reasonable price.

They are prompt and do a good job. They make sure they only get the one tree and don't catch any additional branches.

Davey Tree came as scheduled and performed the work for the amount bid. Some of the work had to be done from the top of the neighbor's garage, which we got clearance for. Pieces then had to be lifted by hand over a fence back onto our property, where they were left (per agreement -- we cut them for firewood). Cleanup was not spotless but very adequate.

Davey Tree company provided a thorough estimate on the spot. It was a little pricey but worth the peace-of-mind knowing that the job was handled by professionals. It took a couple of weeks to schedule as the weather can make it tricky in the Spring. Davey arrived on time with three trucks and a crew of about six. We went over the details of the job and they promptly went to work. They finished in a timely manner. They did an excellent job cleaning up when they were finished.

The estimator came on time and was very professional. He sized up the job and surveyed the yard to make sure his crew could get the stump grinder machine through the fence gate. He gave me advice on replacement trees that are native to Ohio which was a secondary goal of the removal. After receiving another estimate from another reputable company I decided to go with Davey. Their reputation and professionalism carried the day and their price was equally in line with the market. On the scheduled day of removal the crew arrived when scheduled and were done in 2 hours! This included removal of all the limbs and raking the area of work. They left my yard looking better even after removing a very large leafed out tree. The stump grinder crew followed about 2 weeks later and did another great job. Outstanding from start to finish

I found them on Angie's List and they were very fine. I have used them for the lawn service throughout the year. I had them do the work. They did a beautiful job and they did what they said that they were going to do. They cleaned up well. I had an occasion where I needed to call them and cancel one of my services because my neighbor from the next door had ripped up my side yard. So, I did not find it necessary to aerate. He was in a remodeling project and it would get done. I also did not find it necessary to reseed and aerate in the process. I called them up and told them that I wanted to cancel that service and there was no problem at all. They obliged me without any problem. They were a good company. The workers were fine and very good. They had higher marks on Angie's List which was why I chose them. I would give them high marks. I am still using them.

From initial telephone call to on site estimate, to scheduling to actual work everything was well handled and done on time as promised.

The quote was too high so we didn?t use them. They were prompt in coming out but their estimate was much higher than what we were able to get from another source.

Have been using the service for 2 years now and am mostly satisfied. They will adjust your treatments as you request. Problem comes with trying to talk to someone about your service. They are very disorganized and short with customers on the phone. Two years ago I called for an estimate for aeration. Got the estimate one week and a week later they performed the work even though I had decided not to have it done. I paid them anyway because they do perform good work.

We have only used them once. The price was really good and we were very pleased with it. They were really quick as well. They seemed more professional than a lot of other guys who just seem like they are here in a rusty pick-up truck. They were very fast and cleaned up well after themselves. We got three estimates and their price was far lower than the other two. Their quality was good since they cut the tree. Their responsiveness was very good. We called them and the man made an appointment to come out the next morning to look at the tree. We did have to wait a while for them to come out since they said they were very busy. It wasn?t like the tree had fallen on our house or anything like that. I would use them again.

I was referred by a coworker who had found this company to provide a lower estimate yet do very good work. contacted the company to discuss the work that I needed. They got out to estimate it within 2- 3 days. The estimate offered a choice of with or without wood removal (extra $480 to remove). To save money we opted to have it left on our property -- I returned the estimate with my preferences on that. There was a miscommunication (confusion on my part) on where specifically the wood could be left, which we ironed out in a couple of phone calls, and then the work was scheduled and carried out within about a week. The crew did a good job and cleaned up all debris.

We have been pleased each time. We first called Davey after someone else sugested after we thought that a previous larger and more advertised company that we had used to remove an Ash was much too high. I ended up having much more confidence in the professionalism of Davey after seeing them operate than I did with the other company and Davey will continue to have our business in the future.
