It was very easy to schedule services with RC&S; however, I was under the impression that we had an appointment time rather than an appointment window. After 15 minutes, I called and the owner was extremely apologetic about the miscommunication and arrived at my house within 10 minutes. The service was quick and efficient. A team of four guys showed up and cleaned both fireplaces in about a half hour's time. They did find water damage during the inspection, and the owner was able to provide an instant quote and offered to fix the damage on the spot rather than making me set up a separate appointment. Within another 30 minutes, the cracks in the chimney and the existing damage were fixed (2 men working on the chimney and 2 working on the fireplace). The owner warrantied the work for 15 years. They even painted the inside of the fireplace to provide a cosmetic improvement, and the owner walked me through how to work the flue/best practices for our fireplace (we have just recently moved into the house). Overall, service was above and beyond. We will definitely be calling RC&S for our yearly chimney sweep.

We first contacted this Company due to it's attractive price for chimney sweep work...considerably less than any other provider. At the visit, they noticed leaking in the brick and other disrepair. They provided an estimate to fix this work, which sounded very reasonable, but quite a bit more money than we were expecting to put into the chimney at this time. We negotiated two free chimney sweeps for additional consideration over the next few years to help justify this cost. All of the workers were very punctual and professional. We would highly recommend this Company to anyone looking for this type of work.

Did roof right away. Showed pictures of before and after work. Did some chimney tuck pointing and did not charge additional money. I ask them to remove metal strips on house and it was done without additional charges

Immediately responded & got something scheduled based on the times I had provided. When they came out to perform the work they went above & beyond, doing a much more thorough job than what we have had done previously by other companies. In addition, they called out one other item that needed to be addressed by the company who did our roof recently, as well as gave us a 3rd opinion on our chimney work that needs to be completed. He was amazing, he gave us a thorough explanation about what was actually wrong & what potential options we had to address it much more cost effectively than any other company. He was very open & transparent - and his feedback was beyond appreciated. We will absolutely use these guys again & again!

It went fine. It was $50 plus $375. I had never used this fireplace since I moved in and I wanted to make sure that it was in good shape before I lit a fire. He checked the damper, which was fine. He said everything on the inside was fine, which, I kind of expected because I had not used it. It had been rebuilt and I hadn't used it for a fire, in five years. A sweep was not necessary. However, when he inspected my chimney on the outside - and you could see this on the inside as well - there was obviously a little fine drips of water that was coming down because there was stain inside. So, while he was up on the roof, he inspected the actual chimney, which had already been redone. So I didn't expect any problems there. But the flange, on the very top, was cracked. It had numerous cracks on it, which were resulting in this little tiny bit of water that was dripping. The reason that we could tell the water was dripping was, all the inside box had been redone and so it was nice and white. So there was nothing in there. There hadn't been a fire in there. So he saw that immediately. What he did was, he used whatever bonding agent they use and he completely sealed that flange, all the way around. Apparently that's what cost so much. I know it's expensive stuff. I was a little shocked, to be quite honest. I didn't even check to see if it was inline. But, he showed me pictures of the crack. So I know, in fact, there were cracks there and it needed to be repaired. He did a great job with it. It looks beautiful. It came with a nice warranty, which I like. He also was good about giving information about how to build a fire and the difference between logs and wood and showed me how far the screen should technically be, away from the flame, which I didn't know. He was very instructional on top of everything else. There was lots of good information.

I scheduled a chimney cleaning special and the service provider did not show up. I called the cell phone number I was given when I made the appointment. I repeatedly received a voice-message that the person I was calling was not accepting calls at this time and to try again later. I called 5 times on the day of the appointment and was never able to leave a message. Never heard from the guy again. I planned my entire day around the cleaning appointment and to not have the service provider at least call me to cancel was disrespectful and wasted my time.

The service seems fine. Based on what was done, the work was completed in time.

We had some problems. They finally resolved it. They had a problem with one of their workers. They did some sealing on the galvanized top of the chimney. The helper, somehow, stepped on the can and walked on the roof with white paint. The lid, slid off the roof, down across my deck, across my yard and landed upside down in my swimming pool cover, full of water, with paint and stuff all over. So I had a mess of a job. They were just slow in coming back and recognizing the problem. They kept saying the weather was bad and they couldn't come. They finally came. So it wasn't a pleasant experience. He claimed that that was his brother and he had fired his brother yesterday, when they finally came. They charged more because they said the top was leaking and water was inside my chimney. I don't know how that happens either even. I'm not sure if they, maybe, say there's a problem and there's not really a problem or not because I had a new liner put in nine years ago. I have a cedar house and a wooden box chimney with a liner inside. That box, around the liner is probably 3 feet wide by 5 feet long. So it's a big cedar box around a chimney liner on the inside. For them to look in the bottom of the fireplace and say I've got water on the inside of my stack, I don't know how water can get in there, unless from the very top. I didn't stop and analyze that. They said I had this problem and showed me pictures where the guy who installed my cap nine years ago, did a lousy job. He put the nails in from the top, versus the side, which is what you have to do. So they said it was leaking at the top and that they would take care of it. They charged me $200 for that. So they did it. They cleaned the chimney for $50 and did this thing on the top. They gave me $100 back. They wouldn't answer my phone calls. When I replied back through Angie's, I heard right away from them.

After a month I finally was able to contact them to schedule it, they never showed. I was finally able to reach them and they said they were no longer honoring the deal. They never got anything scheduled.

They scheduled the appt. then a week before they were supposed to come out, they emailed and cancel the service. If I didn't check my Angie's List message box, we would've not known that they don't do the service anymore. Unfortunately, we didn't check the message box until the day of. It would have been better for them to call us and let us know.

They were a no call/ no show on two different occasions, when I messaged them regarding the second no call/ no show, they advised that there was an illness and they would not be able to fulfill the service and advised me to contact Angie's List for my refund.

I have not heard from this provider and would like a full refund.

I wanted my gutters cleaned so I saw their coupon and paid $75 for the gutter cleaning service. I gave three days that would be good for me, but I was told they could not do the service for 3 weeks. I didn't complain and let it go. four days before they were due to come and do the cleaning they sent me an email stating they no longer do the service. That was it. I think that is a terrible way to run a business. I certainly would not recommend this company for anything. They are very unprofessional and have no respect for their customers. Terrible company.
