To say the least, they won't be getting any work from me, which is too bad because if they had been contracted and had done a good job on my mailbox, I would have had them do A LOT MORE work (soffits, window screens, porch/deck repair, etc...). So because they wanted the $79 up front for an estimate, it cost them hundreds-thousands of dollars in future work!
Description of Work: My mailbox was ran over, so I contacted Promaster Home Repair & Handyman to get an estimate of what the repairs would cost. As I do for any contractor work, I always ask around AND get at least 3 estimates to pick the best contractor for the job. Promaster wants a $79 estimate fee which, will be credited to the job, IF THEY do the work... but what if I find someone I like better or who I deem more qualified to get the job done?? I'm out that $79 estimate fee!

I appreciate all feedback, even when it is negative, as is your review. After reading your review, I'm very sorry you were unhappy with our policy on evaluating projects, as every business owner hopes to make everyone potential client happy. However, we know that not every homeowner is a fit for our company and we are OK with that. Ultimately I want each person to find a company that is best for them. We understand that our estimation policy isn’t a fit for some, which is why we're honest and up-front about it on the phone, as we were with you. Anyone who offers "FREE" estimates must embed that cost of running around town into the projects of those who eventually hire them, which needlessly drives up the cost of these sorts of repair projects. Like most other professional trade service companies, we charge a fee for sending a technician out to your home to diagnose a problem or evaluate a project. Clients of ProMaster appreciate the fact we send craftsmen to their homes, not salespeople... and hence understand why they must pay for the cost of this service. There are many great contractors on Angie's List and I know you will be able to find one that is a better fit for your needs. - Don Kennedy, President
After checking Angie's list, I called ProMaster Home Repair owner, Don Kennedy. He scheduled an appointment for Ben Benson to come to my home and give an estimate. Ben was very professional and friendly. He provided me with all the necessary paperwork required along with a detailed estimate for the work I wanted done. Ben was very easy to work with. I was confident the remodel I needed and wanted would be done correctly. The men who worked with Ben were equally skilled and pleasant The work completed was: demo of current materials on porch including old skylight and waterlogged beams and posts, replace beams and posts with new material. prep walls to accept cedar shingles, trim around windows and door, install bead board ceiling with 2 fans and new lights, stain and paint all new material, remove siding above porch to install roof sheating and proper flashing, intall new roof sheating and shingles, repair gutter on exterior of porch and remove gutter at roof level above porch. The porch is finished with cedar and beautiful trim around the posts. All the work was excellent. I highly recommend Ben Benson, he is a craftsman to respect. All the people who were involved at ProMasters were friendly, professional and helpful, with excellent followup. I more than received my money's worth from this company. I will call Don Kennedy and ProMaster Home Repair in the future.
Description of Work: ProMaster remodeled my old, 8 ft. X 27 ft. termite damaged porch. This porch had a collapsed roof with a skylight held up by waterlogged beams and posts. I provided a magazine picture of a porch I really like, and Ben Benson, professional craftsman with ProMaster, remodeled my porch into exactly what I wanted and more.

While the people at ProMaster are extremely nice, this price was astronomically high for what we wanted. I did have some issues when I called to verify that the price was correct. I first talked to the guy who runs the place, he told me that the person that comes out to give the estimate (and the work), sets his own price. Then when I called the guy who gave the estimate, he told me that he has no control over the pricing. I guess it didn't matter anyway, because there was no way we were going to pay that much money to have the house painted. *** This price also did NOT include the price of the paint.
Description of Work: Gave an estimate for painting all rooms in a 1300 SqFt home. This included replacing the baseboards on the first floor and painting trim on the second floor.

[member name removed]- I appreciate your feedback even though you appear to be extremely unhappy with our estimate. I'm glad you at least feel our folks are nice and professional. To clarify, when we estimate a project, we don't send a salesperson to your home--we send the craftsman who will do the job. Since he will do the job, he knows exactly how much labor and material is required to accomplish the project. I set the labor rates as the company President, but the amount of time that a job takes and the material required defines the total price of a project. Does that make sense? I reviewed your particular estimate and for the scope of work we thought you wanted--the price was fair. I think the disconnect is that we may have misunderstood what your budget was and hence, gave you an option that was beyond what you had to spend. I apologize for this. Please understand that when you get into replacing a great deal of woodwork in a home and then need to paint everything in it... ceilings, doors, trim, closets, walls, built-ins, stairs, treads, dressers etc. this can take a long time... hence cost a lot more than simply painting the walls of the home. Painting is one of those great Do-It-Yourself projects that many homeowners can save a great deal of money by tackling themselves. Take a look at some of our articles and videos on drywall repair and painting at http://mastermylist.com/?s=painting … as this might help you decide if this is a project you can tackle yourself. - Don Kennedy, President, ProMaster Home Repair

I called ProMaster to build a sink cabinet for me. Mine was removed due to water damage. The tricky part was it had to be assembled under the granite since only that one cabinet was removed. Fred came out and took measurements and in a week had all the pieces at my house, assembled it, and attached my cabinet face. Excellent workmanship. You can't even tell one was ever removed and it is far more sturdy than the rest of the cabinets. Excellent customer service and responsiveness. I have them coming out for a possible tile job next week. Thanks guys!

(Member Name Removed), I can’t express how much it means to our craftsmen when a client like yourself posts a “pat on the back” for a job well done. We have our weekly company meeting tomorrow morning, so I will make sure your review is read aloud in front of the company to properly recognize Fred’s performance. They came out and demolished the previous shelter in August. They started rebuilding the shelter on April 10, 2013. I gave them the blueprints for the rebuilding process. They did not follow the blueprints and put the beams up wrong. After inspection, there were many things wrong with this shelter. I emailed the contact and told them they had to tear it down and rebuild it because it didn't match the blueprints and did not meet the criteria for inspection. The owner emailed me back and told me I was rude and told me that they quit the job and to build it myself. All I wanted was for him to come and look at the work done by his foreman and other workers.
Description of Work: We hired them to rebuild the shelter at our local baseball fields. They said they would rebuild the shelter for free.

ProMaster has helped many children’s charities over the years with a particular emphasis on those with severe illnesses or developmental disabilities. We don’t exploit this activity for positive press or marketing purposes. Rather, we do it because we want to help. In this particular case, we donated thousands of dollars of labor and materials trying to perform a good deed for this youth, special-needs baseball league, yet were unable to satisfy executive members of the organization. For this we apologize, but we feel their need to disparage ProMaster for our volunteer efforts is inconsistent with what we hope would be the spirit of any charitable organization. Needless to say, there are countless other organizations who will gladly accept our donation of time, money, materials and expertise and hence we will not let this experience deter us from continuing this important work on behalf of our community. Contacted Don at ProMaster January/February 2012 to discuss cabinet options for an entertainment unit in our family great room. Don sent Brent Wardorf out to meet us and discuss our space and potential options. We were interested and then we were put in contact with Innerwood who is the company that produces the actual cabinets/unit. The design process was simple and clear - the only hard part was deciding the many many options. Once the design was decided upon a final plan was created. It took approximately 6 to 8 weeks for the creation of the unit and 1.5 days for the installation. Brent and another ProMaster employee did an exceptional job and were very detailed oriented. I appreciated their promptness, professionalism, and their attention to detail. I felt very comfortable with Brent managing the installation because he treated the project as if he were putting the unit in his own home. We are very satisfied with our new entertainment unit!
Description of Work: Cabinets/Entertainment unit in our great room. Designed the unit to fit our needs and price range. Selected the color/stain of the unit. Complete installation of the entertainment unit performed by ProMasters. Included removing carpet, base board trim, 6 big pieces of the entertainment unit installation, drilling holes for the entertainment speakers, tv, etc. Needed guidance from ProMasters as to where the best location for the holes should be Upon completion of installing the units, existing carpet was put back, floor board was trimmed to fit the exposed spots.

I have got the same person over the last three years and occasionally they have someone who will come to help him. If he is too busy then someone else will stand but most of the time I schedule, it is the same repair man and his name is Brent Warndorff. He can do a variety of things like electrical, plumbing, cabinetry, dry wall, masonry and sump pump. They are very professional. The price is a little high but I get very good quality. I am very comfortable with them and I leave my home when they are there. He has been around for a long time. My dog is fine with him and I can come and go and I don’t worry about it. They are very clean. They are skilled, uniformed and prepared for the job. I get what I pay for. He has also got back to check on something.
Description of Work: I used ProMaster Home Repair & Handyman Services for a wide variety of home improvement services. They do Christmas lights installation and exterior lights and I have had that done for three years. I had plumbing, electrical and dry wall done. I had some remodeling, built in design for a new fire place exterior. They put in a ceiling fan, ceiling lights and new light fixtures.

Generally, I am satisfied with ProMaster service. They responded fairly fast and did a good job. On a day they came in it was our daughter's birthday and we planned to go out together. I explained it to Brent, and they stopped working when we had to leave. Next day they came in at the agreed time and finished the project. They were professional, cleaned everything after themselves and hauled an old toilet away. I am glad I called them and will call them again if it is needed some other time.
Description of Work: We found a water leak in the small half bath on the first floor, which probably has been leaking for awhile and damaged a hardwood floor behind the toilet. I contacted ProMaster by email on Sunday and received a call back from Steve on Monday, scheduling service call for Wednesday. On Tuesday I received a phone call from Brant, who was scheduled for this job letting me know that he will come half an hour later then it was scheduled. On Wednesday Brent and Josh arrived, looked at the problem and offered me a solution, which was acceptable for me: to cut out the hardwood from under the fridge, cover the cut-off with plywood and use the hardwood to repair the damaged area behind the toilet. Brent provided me with a quote, which was OK, but maybe a little bit on a high end. Once the toilet was removed, we decided to replace it with a new one, which was done fine.

Brent and Josh arrived at 9 am (right on time) and by 6 pm it was a new room. For the first time in 9 years, I actually love my kitchen and it would not have been possible without the expert workmanship that I got from ProMaster. Funny - this type of upgrade would not have been possible if those kitchen cabinets were not white. This is probably the fourth or fifth time that we've had Brent and ProMaster complete a carpentry job for us. We don't even consider taking on these jobs ourselves anymore.
Description of Work: I never liked my kitchen. I'm not a fan of white kitchen cabinets which is what we have. But, that would have been fine had the quality of the cabinets been on par with the cost of the house. Our cabinets were thermofoil and after 20 years it began to lift and crack. The kitchen was an embarrassment and it's in the dead center of the first floor of the house Last year, I ordered new cabinet doors/drawer fronts from an online cabinet maker in Canada (awesome place - cabinet door depot dot com). We installed most of them last year but stalled when the warm weather arrived. We elected to finish as we hibernated this winter. I had an idea to upgrade the puny kitchen island as I finished. I drew up a design and called my favorite carpenter Brent. I met with Brent on Monday and we were installing on Friday. The guys were to rewrap three sides of the kitchen island, install one new cabinet and move the electrical outlet on one side of the island.

The company is very professional and really cares about customer service and satisfaction. Don and Steve called several times to make sure all was right and are great at follow-up. Ben, my new best friend (Ha!) handyman is very nice and very competent. He was able to do the jobs with minimal direction by me and while I was not home. He actually bought the new disposal with just 2 questions about what I wanted ( I'm not sure what I wanted but it works great and is better looking while costing only $140). This means a lot to me. He also knew immediately what was wrong with the lighting problems due to his experience.
Description of Work: ProMasters filled in seven holes in my cedar siding home caused by woodpeckers; changed out a broken garbage disposal, fixed a bathroom door that stuck (with humidity) and best of all fixed two ceiling lights that no one else figured out how to fix (4 tries from other handymen).

We had a very difficult time finding someone to do the stain work on our stairs. We tried calling finish and trim carpenters and they did not stain, they recommended painters and we could not find any painters willing to do the work. We then moved onto calling handyman type services and everyone either did not do stain work or were unwilling to come out to our area. We only managed to get two quotes in total. Even though the reviews on Angie's List indicated that they tended to be expensive, we found Pro Master to actually be the cheaper of the two quotes we received. They were also the more professional overall and more responsive and punctual during the quote process. They were able to start the work the following week. The work was performed by the same person who came out to do the quote. Ben worked efficiently and communicated well with us through the entire project. We are very pleased with the final results. After four years of living with unfinished stairs I can hardly remember now what they looked like. They came out so beautiful. And the tile work around the fireplace is exactly what we wanted. That will look even more beautiful once we finish the wood working around the hearth and make a mantel, which we will do ourselves.
Description of Work: We had Pro Master come in to primarily complete two projects we have just not had the time to complete. The first was to stain and finish our stairs and handrail which was bare wood. The second was to tile our fireplace hearth (porcelain tile) and surround (granite tile). We also had them do some minor drywall repair where we had some water damage due to issues with the roof over our breakfast nook. The roof had previously been repaired, but the drywall had some minor damage with the tape around the window where the damage was peeling off and some bubbling of the paint on the ceiling.

I had pre-ordered all the necessary components so they were on-scene when Ben arrived. He methodically changed over all of the old handles and then put up the new pieces. The PT bar is quite heave and required cutting the wall open and building a brace in-between the wall studs, which he did with complete accuracy. When all the fixtures were finished he replaced all of the cut drywall and finished the surfaces taking them to the point of being ready for primer/paint. The project required a partial second day to finish due to the time it took for the patching to dry. The cost of the job was in no way influenced by the additional time.
Description of Work: Our craftsman, Ben, was charged with taking our second bathroom and making it completely handicap safe. All of the towel bars were changed over to safety bars, an up down movable PT arm was placed on the side of the biffy opposite the wall to remove any chance of a side-ward fall. An additional shorter safety handle was hung perpendicular to the floor to ease with getting up from the biffy safely.

ProMasters wanted to charge $79 to come out and do an estimate. They stated that this was part of a strategy to show good faith with the customer and avoid ?hidden costs? at the back end by covering the time of the estimator. Decided not to get an estimate from them because many other reputable companies provide a free estimate. I am following the tried and true ?get at least 3 estimates? approach and I?m not willing to eat $79 if I don?t go with ProMasters. My gut feeling is that this is a strategy to break the inertia of the consumer. The thinking is that if I?m in for $79 then psychologically I will be more apt to select them since I?ve already committed some of my money. That being said, this company comes very highly rated and for those with previous experience with them the $79 may be a moot point. For myself it wasn't a cost I was willing to eat.

Member- We understand that different consumers want different things from a home repair contractor. In a free market, it is great that there are so many choices--and clearly we were not a fit for you. I'm sure you'll find a great contractor here on Angie's List who is a better fit with your preferences. Please understand however, that while we appreciate your feedback, we've chosen to operate our company in the most transparent, ethical manner possible. Our estimation policy has nothing to do with "head games" as you suggest. Rather, we believe it represents the fairest deal to the public while protecting us from people who simply want our expertise for free. The pervasive game of "free estimates" in our industry is frankly a lie. There is no such thing as free. You'll simply pay on the back side of a project with the embedded cost of a salesperson running around doing these estimates. Our clients prefer a) to deal with expert craftsmen, not salespeople and b) not to pay for failed attempts by a company or individual to get work. Hence, they value a master craftsman who shows up on time to diagnose their problem and estimate their project for a small fee that applies to job when it starts. This may not be a perfect solution, but it is the fairest we could come up with. Again, thank you for your feedback and using Angie's List. Should you find dissatisfaction with the standard crop of contractors out there and are willing to try a new way of buying home services, we'd welcome you as a new client. I'm certain you'd find our Home Repair Heroes a pleasure to work with. Take Care, Don Kennedy, President ProMaster Home Repair

The repairman did a fine job. He arrived promptly at the appointed time. He came to the house to measure the door opening, then purchased the correct size door plus all the hardware for the installation. He had to remove the main back door in order to replace the door frame on that side. Then he re-installed the main door, the new storm door, and a new closer for the storm door. As a bonus, he replaced the worn weather stripping around the door frame. The work took about an hour longer than the original estimate, but he did not charge for the extra time. The repairman also recommended that we call him back in the spring, after the weather was warmer and he would adjust the fit of the door as the new wood settled. Overall, I was very pleased with the work. ProMaster cost a little more than a couple of other estimates I received, but their work was excellent. Quality is always worth paying for.
Description of Work: The storm door for our backyard door tore off the house during a wind storm in the summer. The glass in the door shattered, and the door pulled off the molding where the hinges were mounted. More seriously, the door closer was pulled out of the door frame, leaving the wood of the frame broken and splintered. ProMaster came out, evaluated what it would take to replace the broken side of the door frame and install a new door. I asked about simply replacing the broken glass, but the repairman told me a new door would probably cost about the same and be faster. We made an appointment about two weeks later (it would have been faster, but we were going out of town) for him to come back and do the repair work.

The estimate by this company was outrageously high, about two to three times higher than the quotes I received from other companies (all rated A on Angies' List). As an example, the estimate for installing 2'X2' interlocking floor mats and cove base in my two-car garage was $1350 (15 hours at $90/hour). How could such a simple low-skill job possibly take two days at such a high hourly rate? As another example, the estimate for patching and painting a 5'X5' plaster ceiling area was $1170 (13 hours at $90/hour). Other companies estimated the same job at around $400. Of course I did not hire this company to do the work, so I paid $100 for nothing.
Description of Work: The company charged me $100 for an estimate, which could be applied toward future work performed.

Member, I appreciate your feedback and am sorry you were upset by our higher prices on two of the 20+ items we evaluated on your home. It isn’t unusual for a person to feel like a carpentry or plaster repair project shouldn’t require much skill. However, these are two common areas where we see less experienced tradesmen underestimate the requirements to make sure that a project not only looks good when it is done, but continues to look and perform great, well into the future. I’ve labored diligently for years to build the best home repair company in Cincinnati. You can imagine it stings when someone like yourself takes such a negative, public shot at my company. But I want you to know that I value all feedback, whether a person actually uses our company or not, whether it is fair or not, to improve our company in many ways. After all, it is in listening to the concerns of homeowners like yourself that we’ve built the polices and systems that we have. For all the consumer feedback here on Angie’s List and other sites--I am truly thankful—since it keeps us “in tune” with what our potential and current clients think. To answer your concerns specifically: Yes, our company is expensive. We are transparent about this. Excellence isn’t what every consumer is looking for… as some shop for home improvement services based solely on price. That’s OK… we don’t critique one viewpoint over the other. Similarly, however, we do not believe we should be judged poorly for simply offering the consumer a level of service, professionalism, integrity and competence that they demand of us. Unfortunately, this costs more. Believe me, I wish I could compete on price. It is simply impossible, given the talent I hire, the ethical standards I hold, and my belief that we should run a business in compliance with all insurance, tax and legal standards and statues. Ironically, we do accomplish this objective of excellence more efficiently than other contractors in our segment. Hence, our price is actually competitive--but nevertheless more expensive than those types of ‘handymen’ running a business out of their pickup truck, as you compared us to in your report. I also understand we were brought in to evaluate and rectify many projects you were dissatisfied with from several previous contractors. Is it unfortunate that we failed to convey our value, as I’m certain that you would have been thrilled with your experience in working with ProMaster, just as the other Angie’s List members have indicated in their reports. Best wishes for your repair projects. While it is unlikely that you would ever do so, please feel free to consider our company should you continue to experience the “let down” from other contractors. I know we’re more expensive than you would like. But aside from the peace of mind that comes with working with a professional, consider the cost savings to you from not having to do the same project two or three times with cheaper contractors, simply to “get it right.” Take care, Don Kennedy, President

We spent approx. an hour talking about what we wanted/needed to have done. He asked thoughtfull questions, reviewed the areas we were going to have work done on and began working promptly. He and an apprentice began demolition on our back door and they discovered there was no flashing around the door and the wood was rotting due to the water damage. They did need to leave during the day and Chip returned approx. 2.5 hours later without the apprentice. While he did get the flashing in place and the door water tight by the end of the day, he unfortunately was not able to complete the job entirely. We scheduled for him to return the following morning for him to complete the project. He got straight to work on the outlet in the bathroom and then completed the door. We had PVC placed on the door instead of wood and he painted the siding/PVC to match what we currently had already. You cannot even tell we had work done, which is just great. Chip was highly knowledgeable, very helpful, courteous and friendly.
Description of Work: We had water leaking in the back door of our home off of our dining room around the doorframe and we also wanted to change the outlet in our bathroom from a 2 to a 4.

I had come across ProMaster via Angie's List and decided to give them a call. The gentleman I talked to on the phone was very professional and while I clearly didn't know what I was talking about, he seemed to follow along with what I wanted to have done. Ben Benson was the professional they sent to do the estimate and ultimately the repairs. He was on time, courteous and very conscientious. We were very pleased with the work done and would certainly consider using them again. While ProMaster is a little more expensive than other handyman services, I would pay more for the courteous and timely response we received by ProMaster.
Description of Work: We had some water from a leaky roof. Once the roof was replaced (by a different company) we opted to have a professional come in and repair the water damage. Nothing overly complicated -- mostly peeling off some old wallpaper which had been painted over and repairing the plaster behind it.

They were very careful to protect the other things around them. What I like about them is that they did stuff right and on time. They did well and cleaned up after themselves.
Description of Work: We had rain that came in around the windows. It got the walls and carpeting wet. They watervac-ed the carpet and tore out and put in dry wall.

We found them through Angie's List. The work was outside the house and I did not actually meet the guys. They knew what to do and they showed up and did the work. They did what they said they were going to do and they did it properly. I was very happy with that. The cost was a little more than what I had expected. I had independently tried to find people to do this work and actually had people show up to quote for it but never got quotes from them. I went through a two-month period when I could not get somebody out there. I wanted somebody who could do the work and that is what these guys did. The main thing I liked was that they seemed keen to work on my house. These guys made it seem like it was important business for them. The work was done with quality and they had insurance and things that I needed and they reported that information to me ahead of doing the work. Some of the work was 30 feet above somebody was insured for that. I didn't have any complaints. The price was a little higher than I wanted but at that point I was willing to pay it.
Description of Work: ProMaster Home Repair & Handyman Services repaired the siding on our house. Birds had made peck holes in the wood siding. They took pieces of the siding out and replaced it.

Member, Thank you for your kind words! I also appreciate your thoughts on the importance of a company's insurance. While often overlooked, such coverage is one of the primary factors separating the legitimate contractors from the amateurs. But you are right... it does protect you from liability in case a worker falls off a ladder! Don Kennedy, President

See above - no work was actually performed, including an initial estimate.
Description of Work: I consulted Angie's List for a preferred provider to address some external rotten wood on my home. I was very excited to find ProMaster, with their informative videos on AL. One directly addressed my need! I felt I would be treated with professionalism by experts in their field. I called and scheduled a date for someone to come out for an estimate, understanding that I'd have to pay for the estimate which would then be applied to any subsequent work. Chip arrived on schedule, and I explained that I had rotten wood around the roofline. I walked the property with him, and he suggested either vinyl to cover the rotten wood, as a long-term solution, or just replace the rotten wood. I was happy to consider multiple options, but I grew concerned when it appeared that he was unsure of what needed to be replaced. As he walked around, he would point and say, "well, maybe there, and maybe there..." I had expected someone to be able to identify the problem areas, inform me of what needed to be done to fix them, inform me of the pros and cons of each solution, and then submit a bid. I did not get any of that. When I expressed my concern that I am not the expert and can't tell him what needs to be fixed and how to fix it, he got the owner on the phone. I described my concerns to the owner, and he told me that they've been running their team very hard recently, and they'd prefer not to do business with me, but they wouldn't charge me for coming out. I've worked with many companies in the past, and none would consider me a demanding customer, or hard to work with - in fact, just the opposite. Most like that I am willing to learn, open to their ideas, and responsive with answers to their questions. But apparently if you cannot specifically tell Promaster what they need to do to complete your job, they aren't willing to work with you to come up with a solution to meet your needs. I was very disappointed to be "fired" as a customer in this manner.

I have never had feedback like this before, so I will confess that it is somewhat difficult to respond to your criticism. But I nevertheless value your thoughts and will use your feedback to improve our operations here at ProMaster. On the positive side, I’m happy to see that despite our rigorous schedule right now, we were able to bend over backwards to rapidly fit you in at time convenient to you… and that our craftsman showed up on time. I’m also glad to hear that he welcomed your presence on the walk around inspection and discussed multiple repair options with you. So thank you for that positive feedback. While “professionalism” is a subjective quality, we strive to meet that in the eyes of all of our clients. One of the things that I demand of all of my craftsmen is honesty. Often times in home repair there are multiple ways to tackle a problem… and especially with wood rot repair the extent of damage or course of action can’t fully be determined until the affected area is disassembled. While honesty is a good thing, our craftsmen must deliver disconcerting news about the expense or complexity of a home repair diplomatically. It appears from your feedback that this was the part of the discussion we let you down. In which case, I apologize. I think the lesson learned here is that you would have preferred us to simply come up with a solution and directed the next step. Some clients are offended by that approach, but our failure was that we should have asked you what specifically you wanted from us. It is clear that we misunderstood your expectations. This is our fault and I apologize. But I thank you for sharing it because at our next meeting with my craftsmen, I am going to use your incident as an example of the importance of gleaning clear expectations from the client. While you and I have not spoken directly, I was privy to the conversation with our customer service rep where you felt fired. I am sorry that we said something to make you feel this way, as it was not our intention, whatsoever. While it isn’t my place to tell you how to feel, I interpreted his suggestion to not use our company if you didn’t feel comfortable with the solutions we offered as sensitivity to your concerns, not as firing you as a client. He was attempting to be gracious and conciliatory, as we don’t believe in strong-arm sales tactics. We’re extremely comfortable with homeowners using us or not... and even encourage folks to not use our company if we are not the best fit for their needs. Given that we are unusual in this manner, could it be that our good intentions were misconstrued? In any event, I appreciate your feedback, as I think we can learn from it. I hope you find another contractor that you are happy with.
