The technician, Chris, showed up on time and was quite professional. He didn't mind my watching him working and asking lots of questions. One problem my system was having was that it would not run even though the temp was below what the thermostat was set for, and when it would run it quickly turn off. Chris traced this issue to clogged drain traps that trigger a pressure sensor to kick off the machine. He cleaned these out, and showed me how so I wouldn't need to call for that one specific issue in the future. Our furnace was also under performing in terms of the heat it would put out. He noticed that the initial installation had the cold air return duct misaligned with the blower motor. That combined with my having put in one of the higher density furnace filters from 3m was straining the system to get sufficient air. While he did described some potential fixes, we didn't do anything about the misalignment, and I just switched to lower density filters. When Chris was done, our furnace was running again, and putting out more heat. I was happy with the service and would use Bockrath again.

Ken arrived on Saturday morning and immediately began asking questions about our systems, taking measurements and asking about our preferences in order to put together an estimate to replace our systems. As Ken reviewed the existing furnaces, he asked why we felt we needed to replace our units. We explained that another company said we needed it but the price seemed high. When I explained the reason for recommending a replacement was a cracked heat exchanger, Ken stated "I would be happy to provide a quote and replace your systems" but I am not sure it is necessary. Ken indicated that he would recommend additional investigation, including CO measurements to verify whether we really had a problem. Bockrath scheduled a follow up visit and used a camera as well as monitor to investigate the heat exchanger. They saw marks but no gouges or cracks. All measurements were negative. This was the best experience I have EVER had with a contractor. I was fully prepared to purchase new systems and was simply looking for price comparisons. Instead, I found a contractor that I was 100% comfortable working with....I felt no pressure to buy and even after talking me out of a new furnace, Bockrath simply asked that I call them when I needed additional service. Simply the best....I will not call another contractor....Bockrath will be my choice for all future work

We bought a 50 year old house in November 2013 and asked the sellers to have the oil furnace serviced. They had another company come out but found black soot on the basement floor around the furnace and black soot all over the front porch. I called that company that performed the work and they sent the technician back out. He cleaned the flue and installed a new nozzle. For a week all looked good, then we noticed the same issues. This is when I signed up for Angie's List and reviewed the Heating companies in the area and decided to go with Bockrath. Chris showed up, as he is their oil furnace specialist, and started by checking the flue, which was very sooty, then proceeded to check the heat exchanger, which was coated with black soot. He cleaned everything and also found a piece of insulation that was loose and appeared to prevent good air/oil mix for combustion. He removed the material and adjusted the mix. I put white paper on the floor to monitor the soot build up and as Chris stated, there was a little soot for the first few days, but then very little soot could be found around the furnace. Our front porch is covered with snow which makes it real easy to monitor the soot build up and there doesn't appear to be any. Yes, I'm still holding my breath, but I think the problem may really be fixed. I will continue to monitor throughout this winter and will provide an update if anything changes. As of now, I highly recommend Bochrath. 6/20/2015 It's been over a year and the furnace ran fine all winter. Bockrath did an exceptional job troubleshooting and repairuing our furnace. I will scheduke them for all future jobs.

I called Bockrath around noon on Saturday and Ken was at my house within the hour to take a look at my furnace. It was about 18 degrees outside and the furnace was failing to ignite and run properly, so we were very happy that he could make it out so quickly. Ken was courteous, professional, and knowledgeable, and he checked everything thoroughly. The cause of the problem was not easy to diagnose, but he narrowed it down to a couple of potential issues and he was able to have our furnace running properly by the time he left about an hour later. He also made some recommendations and explained how certain changes could help the efficiency and proper operation of the furnace. The wife was certainly happy to have the heat running again, and so was I. I plan to call them again in the Spring for annual service of my AC / heat pump unit.

We needed to have the external condenser unit moved to another side of the house to accommodate some future renovations that we are planning. I received an estimate from Jacob Brothers Heating and Cooling that seemed expensive, so I contacted Bockrath Heating and Cooling for a second estimate. I didn't inform them of the first estimate until after they had provided an estimate of their own. For the same work, Bockrath's estimate was less than 50% of the first estimate. Knowing their reviews on Angie's list were good, I scheduled the service to be performed. The work took two men several hours to perform and the final result was more than satisfactory. The unit looks good in the new location and the old location was patched up and made presentable. We've been running the unit for five months through an exceptionally cold winter and it's performed well. I'll definitely call Bockrath for future service.

Came out late on Saturday. Multiple boards are used by Carrier so no one carries the whole stock in their business. Came out on Monday and replaced. Job was done just fine.

During the coldest weather in 20 years (-5 degrees with wind chills in the -20s), I came home after work to a cool house. I noticed the display on the thermostat was blanking out. I immediately called Bockrath and spoke to Chris. Chris said he was on another emergency call but would come by as soon as he was finished. He showed up an hour and half later and diagnosed the problem as a broken thermostat. He had it replaced in about 20 minutes. Bockrath's service is like no other. They not only arrived quickly, they did not overcharge me. At that point, I was desparate and they could have taken advantage of that and charged me an arm and leg to fix my problem (and I would have gladly paid it). As it turns out, the cost of the repair was $219. I will always use Bockrath. Their customer service beats the pants off their competitors.

Also did the same for two other faucets. He could have made a lot more money replacing everything...but he was honest and fixed everything for a fraction of the cost.

I would definitely recommend this company to anyone I know. They put in a Trane heat pump and furnace. They were excellent.

Technician was phenomenal and very very professional. Will absolutely use them again. Not sure how good the humidifier is....have it turned all the way up and still a tad dry in the house.

They were very helpful with assisting on an insurance claim.

Our heater went out over night. I called our heating/cooling company first, but they were booked for today. After several calls to other companies-all from Angie's List and all very nice-Brockrath had an opening. Chris and his apprentis came, looked at the system, and determined the problem. They did not have the part with them, but was able to locate one and went out to get it. They then repaired the unit. They left the area cleaner than it was before they arrived. Both were very nice and courteous. I would defiantly use them again.

Excellent service, scheduled appointment quickly. Prompt for appointment. My furnace/duct work needed to be adapted in order for a whole house humidifier installed correctly. The technician went above and beyond to get the job done the morning of the original appointment. The charge for the extra required work was very fair; work was done well. Very professional. I would definitely use this company again and intend to sign up for a service contract for my furnance, air conditioner and new humidifier.

The service was amazing. They actually beat me home and were waiting when I pulled up. He was very friendly and didn't scold me when I admitted it had been awhile since I even thought about the filter. He quickly checked out the furnace and the outside ac unit, figured out what the issue was, and had me back on track before I knew it! He even checked my neighbor's system to make sure the leaking hadn't caused any issues for her. I asked for a business card and the first thing I did after he left was tape it OVER the name that was on the unit. Bockrath is my new go-to for heating and ac needs and I would definitely recommend them.

As part of our kitchen remodel, we purchased a range hood that needed to be vented through the exterior wall. We had a very tough time finding someone to do this as all the appliance installation companies I called were not equipped to do "construction". Bockrath came out an provided a quote which I found very reasonable (the $300 was for the venting portion of the install only, my husband installed the actually range hood, but still a good price). They set up a time for install, arrived promptly, and charged the agreed upon amount. Great experience!

We scheduled Bockrath to come out. When the service man came he said that we already had a humidifier on our furnace - it wasn't turned on and we didn't know it. He wouldn't charge us since we didn't need one and told us to get the refund. We then paid him to service the furnace and really appreciate his honesty.

They were on-time, did quality work and finished the work when they said they would. They installed a quality product. Ken Ammon sold us the product. There were two men, James and Nathan, that worked with him. They were all very professional and very careful taking out the old unit and also cleaned up very well.

I originally had Brockrath Heating and Cooling out to do an inspection of my AC unit in the summer of 2012 when I noticed the vents in my ceilings had condensation on them. The service tech was able to accurately diagnose the problem and fix it for a very reasonable price and very quickly. I then signed up for a service contract with the company so they could do annual checks on both my furnace and ac units. Every time I've had a service call, the technician is prompt, calls ahead to let me know he's on is way, and is always very professional. I would highly recommend this company to anyone, and in fact, I originally found them through Angie's List!

My a/c quit working on one of the hottest days that week,placed a call for service. Chis called back right away and said would be there next morning..Would come sooner but with the number of calls,they were getting I competley understood.I could have tried someone else but was willing to wait based on my experience with this company. Chris was there next morning, corrected the problem in about 20 minuts and I had cool air again. Would and will use this company in the future. Would recommend their services to anyone.

Called Saturday morning at approximately 9:30. Tech was here by 12:30. Diagnosed the problem as a blown fuse and had the system up and running quickly. Very professional.

Went well. Prioritized our job because we were without AC. Installed and runnin on the same day.
