Bockrath Heating & Cooling

My AC went out and Bockrath had me back up in running very quickly. They called multiple times to inform me of their schedule and when they were going to arrive. The tech was excellent!

Ken from Bockrath arrived on time for estimate and laser measured every room in my house before presenting 3 options. Each option was presented with cost, SEER ratings and discounts/finance options. Installers were professional and only took one day to remove old furnace/ac and install the new Trane system. Work areas were left as clean as when they got here (Not always the case when having this type of work performed). Now that system is installed, I couldn't be happier. Nice and cool. Only received one energy bill since installation (which was lower than normal) but I expect savings. I would highly recommend Bockrath to my friends and neighbors.

Went very well. My wife said the gentleman was very professional, answered all of her questions and since the furnace is so old he highly recommended that we start looking into a new one as the efficiency of a new unit would serve us well.

HORRIBLE. They scheduled my appointment for 2:00 PM, so I took off work at noon. I received an email as soon as I got to work stating that this provider wished to bump the time up to beat the weather, so I ended up taking the whole day off. They showed up at 3:00, one hour later than promised, and cost me an entire day's vacation. After researching the bill, I noticed they charged me $54.00 for a capacitor that I found in Dayton for $17.00 retail. After inquiring about the 317% price mark up, the provider called me and stated that it was a convenience fee. Convenient for who? If you don't have the parts in your van, you can't repair anything. That's the cost of doing business. They also charged $80 just to show up. Ken claimed to have added one pound of refrigerant to my system, however He never weighed the container. This is a common practice by HVAC companies to overcharge customers. My system may have only taken a half a pound, however I was charged for the complete pound. We'll never know, now will we. Angie's List let me down, this company had one of the highest ratings, but for the life of me, I don't know how.

They were the only company that would give me a quote over the phone. He was able to squeeze me in within a couple days and he was a half hour early, which was great! He looked at the unit and agreed with me on what was wrong and left to get the part. Came back and had the part in within no time. Over the phone he told me they charge per hour and have a truck fee. So when he was finished I was slightly concerned of the cost, but then he told me it was just a total of one hour and the truck fee. I was so excited. Any other company would charge an arm and a leg to do what he did. I was so happy with this company I will definitely refer them and use them in the future.

I purchased the $89 service call with 30 minute diagnostic check. Ken showed up exactly on time and figured out I had a bad capacitor. He replaced it with a new one and was done extremely fast. Including the work and paperwork he was here for only 20 minutes and it only cost me $15. I am extremely pleased with this company and their honesty that seems to be lacking in other companies. I will definitely use them again and can not recommend them highly enough.

He's okay. I like everything. He's punctual and friendly. He knows what he's doing. Everything was good.

It went very smoothly and without any glitches. Ken and his workers, James and Nathan, were very professional. They arrived on time and did not waste any time starting the job and completing it. Ken estimated it would take them 4 hrs. James and Nathan completed it in just 2 and 1/2 hrs. Ken thoroughly explained what and how they would do the job during my meeting with him for an estimate and again before starting the job on the day of installation. He answered all our questions. I would not hesitate to hire them again.

The entire Bockrath HVAC team was very professional and thorough. Bockrath was the first company that we called for an estimate. Ken spent the time to walk through the entire house to take measurements (square footage) and evaluate supply and returns for the system. He also took the time to do a proper load calculation for the house based on his measurements. We called four other companies after that and kept coming back to Bockrath for several reasons: - We did not feel that they were trying to sell us a unit that would not give us a return on our investment - Their comprehensive plan to improve the airflow in the house reasonable cost compared to other companies - The thoughtful approach that they took to ensure that we bought a unit that was going to provide us with the best comfort and savings There is a lot to absorb when replacing HVAC, but we learned quickly thanks to Ken and the entire Bockrath team. We asked a lot of questions, and Ken was very patient throughout. The work that they did was spectacular. You would have never known that they were there when they left. They kept things clean and had the job done in two days. The unit is performing great!

The technician, Chris, was a very nice guy and professional. He was at my house within 20 minutes of my call and was able to find the problem, fix a clogged pipe, and also purchase and replace the broken selonoid. He was even helpful with information on how to clear a clog if it happens in the future. I am especially pleased to find a reliable HVAC company to call if I were to have a larger need in the future. They definitely have our business.

No concerns, prompt and courteous

I called Bockrath and spoke to Ken first thing in the morning as we awoke with no heat. Ken was able to come out within 45 minutes of call. He promptly diagnosed the problem as a faulty ignitor and also noted that our furnace filter needed replacement as it was dirty and likely to trip the furnace off later otherwise. He replaced the ignitor, verified the system connoted to run as well as cycle on and off. He was prompt and very professional. This is the 2nd time we have used Bockrath and we would not trust anyone else.

Excellent company! I had them do maintenance twice on a 30+ year old furnace & heat pump in a 3 bedroom single story house (no basement) that I bought 1 year ago. They had been responsive and thorough and their cost was reasonable so when the heat pump died this year on the holiday (Jan. 1), I called them for help. They came out on the holiday (no extra charge) and got the furnace to work well enough to have some heat and gave me a free thermostat to use so I could manually switch to emergency heat until I could buy a new furnace & heat pump. I called a few other companies for estimates and got slow responses, high estimates, or no response at all so I decided to buy a new Trane unit from Bockrath. I did online research and found that the company doing the installation is more important than the brand of furnace & heat pump you buy. Seems all the newer models have problems and low ratings for reliability no matter what the brand. Many of the problems people reported in the reviews were related to a poor installation. Frustrated by what I read and not being an expert on furnaces, I decided to trust my instinct and hire Bockrath. I'm glad I did! Ken spent a lot of time with me answering all my questions. He helped me determine the correct size and type of units to buy and explained all the available features. He answered my emails immediately and returned my calls promptly. Absolutely top notch service! When it was time to install the new furnace and heat pump, of course, it was a below 0 degree day in January and they were super busy with calls for help. They still came and spent the entire day installing both the inside and outside units in the freezing cold. The installation went well and Ken stopped in twice to check on the installers. Everything that was promised was done and they cleaned up after themselves. Absolutely no complaints.... and I am a perfectionist! Here it is a month later and I woke up one morning to find the temperature in the house was 63 degrees. I called Bockrath at approx. 7:00 a.m. and Chris arrived at 8:00 a.m. A piece of insulation fell off on the inside and the furnace turned itself off as a fire precaution. Chris had it fixed and was gone within 30 minutes, free of charge. So far everything is working fine again. Based on the online reviews I read about the newer Tranes, I expect to have more problems but I feel confident that Bockrath will take care of me if I do. I purchased the very reasonably priced 10 year labor warranty from Bockrath and the first two years maintenance appointments are free. It's a family business and as far as I can see, they take care of their customers as if they were family. I highly recommend them!!!!

They showed up right on time, and they were easy to schedule for service. My husband said they were very thorough and answered the questions and concerns we had. A furnace cleaning on its own was $110 (which seems a little higher than some of the other providers) however we purchased a service agreement for $175. This service agreement is for fall & spring and actually included the first visit, which made it a more reasonable service cost. They checked for a cracked heat exchanger and they did a thorough cleaning. I'm not sure if they don't normally replace the filters, but we need to go buy one for the replacement. Next time I'll have a spare so they can install that. We also have a humidifier and I don't know what they performed on that.

I changed my mind on the Big deal. Service provider was very cooperative and worked with me.

Technician arrived, wore booties to avoid soiling floor, took measurements taking into account existing equipment. Gave advice for alternatives consideration. Note that we did not accept the proposal because we received another from a trusted business for a better price.

Things went fine. They did a great job. The workers were fine. I had no complaints. They were on time. I would recommend them to a friend.

I am feeling very deceived. Looking at the invoice, I've noticed that I the line item cost of the part was 200% the cost of any vendor online. Though the part cost ~$250 to purchase, it showed as $500 on my invoice. This seems a bit inappropriate, and after confronting the Bockrath company, they basically told that it's "just how we do things." I feel like I was overcharged and the company unwilling to compromise on that price, despite giving no good reason why they overcharge. I will NOT use this company again.

I called at last minute hoping to get an appointment this week and then had to change it two more times. All my fault. Bockrath was accommodating and arrived on time. He cleaned & checked everything and even replaced a part in the humidifier at no additional cost. He also moved a pipe so that it was easier to insert the filter. He explained how electric furnace and humidifier work and advised about the pros and cons of replacing such an old unit. Very thorough, professional and polite. Cleaned up after himself. Perfect!

Everything went well from the call to set up an appointment to final installation. The sales representative was very professional and personable as well as knowledgeable about the products and services being offered. Multiple options were presented with very good explanations of differences and without hard sell pressure to select high cost units. The installation team was terrific - they were punctual, polite, prepared, and considerate of our property. They were focused on their job and obviously cared about the quality of their work. When all work was done they provided excellent instructions on how to use the new equipment and they thoroughly cleaned up the work area.

because my furnace uses a heat pump the standard wiring didn't work. They located the problem and fixed it quickly.
