Description of Work: Installed humidifier.,however it was to low. I could not get pass humidfier to get to rear of electronics. They had to raise the item and patch the hole they had made initially.

Description of Work: I couldn't have been happier with the work performed. Ken was the managing installation tech, and he was a pleasure to work with. They did a full replacement of the furnace and outside ac compressor. The work was performed very fast and the price was great. They cleaned up the job site and explained the work in detail. I would definitely recommend them and use them again.

Description of Work: After experiencing some alarming noises and vibration from ice in our heat pump, I read reviews on Angie's List and called Bockrath HVAC since they are very highly rated. The owner, Denny Bockrath, answered the phone and had his service technician, Chris Ashcraft, call me immediately. Chris, and his son who also works for Bockrath, arrived on time. They were both polite, presented a nice appearance, and wore shoe covers which I really appreciate. I requested a clean and check of the system and Chris spent about an hour cleaning, checking, adjusting, and answering my questions. He changed the defrost cycle on the heat pump from 90 to 60 minutes to help prevent future problems with icing. Chris was extremely knowlegeable and patiently answered all my many questions. His 15 years experience shows. Most important, he is honest and didn't try to alarm us in any way or sell us anything we don't need. We are thrilled to have found a company we can trust after several bad experiences with other, larger HVAC companies. Highly recommend Bockrath!

Description of Work: I went to Angie's list after having another heating company twice in two weeks and not able to solve my problem. When I called Bockrath the phone was immediately answered. Within minutes I was contacted by the service person who told me he would come immediately to my home. He was here as soon as he promised and solved my problem in under an hour. The cost was reasonable for what was done and the timely fashion in which it was performed. I will absolutely use this company again. The service professional was very nice and informed me why the furnace failed. He was clean, did not leave a mess and wore boot covers in the house. I cannot imagine a better company. There were a few Angie's List reviews that considered this company expensive. I would caution anyone reading those reviews. This company fixed the problem the first time which for me, was a whole lot cheaper than paying fortwo visits from another company and still waking up to a thermometer reading of 61 degrees! My home is now warm!

Description of Work: KEN WAS PROFESSIONAL AND REPAIRED PART. HE MADE SOME SUGGESTIONS AFTER REVIEWING ALL ASSOCIATED EQUIPMENT AND I WILL USE THIS COMPANY TO UPGRADE MY SYSTEM. HE REPLACED A CAPACITOR AND ADJUSTED WHERE NECESSARY. GOOD WORK. COOL AT LAST!

Description of Work: Denny came to our house to recommend a replacement AC unit for one that had failed after 17 years. He recognized that the existing 3 ton unit was undersized and recommended a 3.5 ton system. He also recognized that the return air drop was too small for the existing fan. The new installed system has improved our cooling performance considerably. I should also mention that Denny's crew performed their work in a professional and considerate manner. They protected inside walkways and cleaned up well afterwards. We highly recommend Bockrath for your HVAC needs.

Description of Work: We had Denny come to the house for an estimate. He was very professional and gave us many options for updating our air conditioning unit. We updated the capacity and efficiency of the unit while also installing a humidifier and a new thermostat. The next day Denny arranged to have the duct work in the house cleaned and sanitized prior to installation of the air-conditioner by Hi Tech Duct Cleaning inc. The men, Jason and Lee were here from 9-12:00 am. They tidied up after themselves and gave us a price break on some of the duct work because our home is rather large. The next day Denny's installers were in place at 8:00am. They worked straight through until 5:30 in the afternoon. Nathan and Chris had to completely rebuild the original furnace area due to the increased capacity of the air conditioner.As before, they were clean and neat and not a spec of debris left behind in spite of the deluge during installation of the outdoor unit. Interfacing with the new thermostat was a bit tricky and both they and my husband worked on this problem until its completion at the end of the project. Once the men had left, Denny called to see if all had gone according to plan. So far we are happy campers and this project was handled to our liking. Do not hesitate to call on this company for your heating and air conditioning needs.

Description of Work: Just a follow up to my first report.....We just received a check in the mail from Duke Energy! Evidently, the wonderful people at Bockrath submitted the claim for the purchase and installation of our new energy efficient furnace for us! We had no knowledge of a rebate being available until the money arrived. One more reason to trust and appreciate this company. Thank you to all the wonderful people at Bockrath! It is so nice to do business with a company that is honorable.

Description of Work: We did an Angie's List special deal and bought a whole house humidifier installed. Denny Bockrath was very solicitous, he even phoned us first to have the work done, since I was late (after purchasing the deal) to call him, since I'd had to move a bunch of stuff in the basement first. His assistant was also very polite, seemed capable. A week or two after he'd installed it the thin metal label (about 1.5 inches by 7 inches) with the name of the humidifier popped off, revealing a hole that allowed me to see into the guts of the humidifier. That wasn't too great, but with that open I could see that the indicators on the "air in" vent knob that I'd thought was turned to open didn't line up well with the actual flap inside, and I if he closed it back up again then I wouldn't know (since the indicators weren't accurate), if the flap inside the "air in" duct was really open or closed. When I phoned and explained this to Denny he immediately was helpful and sent the same person and an assistant out right away. In the course of fixing both problems he broke off the knob to the 'air in' vent knob, and then jury-rigged a good, clear, solution, inside the duct/pipe itself. In shortI'd say the GeneralAire humidifier that they chose to install itself was perhaps of not high quality, but their work was professional and competent and kind.

Description of Work: Our a/c went out suddenly, and Denny was there the next day to examine the system and provide a quote. Our system was almost 20 years old and had not functioned very well since we purchased the home 11 years ago. Denny immediately pointed out one problem, that the old unit was too small for our square footage. I did a quick internet search, and he was correct. The max square footage for that unit was nearly 400 square ft less than our home. From the point we selected Bockrath, they were here at 7:30 the next morning ready to go, and finished by 1 PM. The workers were quiet and considerate as I worked from home, and wore booties every time they came in the house. Denny even came out to check the work, and stopped on the way to pick up a new furnace filter since ours was quite filthy. I can't think of anything they could have done to make this a better experience. For the first time in 11 years, our house is cool, even upstairs! High integrity and quality work = one happy customer!

Description of Work: Had Denny come give me estimates/couple of options on replacing furnace. Denny was very nice and professional. Of everything he looked at and the options he gave me, he failed to realize that the top if my plenum had collapsed (or if he noticed it, he did not tell me) I discovered the next day and am now getting the plrnum rebuilt and replaced.

Description of Work: On Wednesday, my heat pump/furnace guy gave me the words no homeowner wants to hear: “Your compressor is shot and you need a new system.” This was not an entire surprise as my system was 13 years old. He got on his phone to schedule a salesman to come out that day to give me an estimate, and I got on my phone to get 2 more estimates. Two of the estimates were coming from two well-known local HVAC companies, the other was coming from a company I had never heard of before, Bockrath, but their ratings on Angie’s were impressive. The two big companies gave me estimates on the scene but Bockrath’s president, Dennis, said he wanted to draft up a proposal. I said fine. Dennis called back at 5PM and said he had the figures ready and asked if he could come down the next morning. I said yes, and mentioned that his was the only estimate I didn’t have yet. He asked, “Could I come down tonight?” I said yes. We met at 6PM and Dennis went over a variety of proposals he had and I told him I would put all bids into a spreadsheet, review the systems and make a decision. I then reviewed the proposed systems, their costs and my evaluations of how each company addressed my personal needs. Only Dennis surveyed my condo, noting how many registers it had, asked about square footage and how satisfied I had been with the current system. I told him that from day 1, the heat was horrible and he explained why that was. He told me his proposed systems would rectify the problem. I called Dennis at 8PM and told him, I had decided on awarding him the job. He said he would have a worker starting the next morning at 8AM. The work began the next day, and by Friday at 2PM, my new system was up and running. Dennis even dropped by on both days to see how things were going, and I must say his two workers were great professionals.
