About us

John W. Magie Enterprises Inc. started in business in 1982 as a Lawn Care Company. In 1985 we purchased another Lawn Care Company out of Harrison, Ohio that had been in business for 32 years. This was a necessary purchase to grow our business and expand our demographics as the area continued to grow and review our options for future possibilities. It was decided to become a Lawn & Garden Dealership in 1988. We partnered with John Deere, Toro, and other engine manufactures. By 1990, (80%) of our business was retail, parts, and service of lawn and garden equipment. We had continued growth over the next 10 years. In 2000 we had a major road split our property in half. The new highway (Butler Regional Highway or Rt. 129) allowed us additional traffic and retail opportunities. In the Spring of 2003 we started building a new state of the art facility for our industry which was approximately 100 yards from our original farm type setting. On October 10, 2003 we opened our new facility. Our new facility was built around increasing our efficiency to service our customers better. We continue to expand our service opportunity by providing at Home Service for our customers and selling Preferred Customer Maintenance Plans. We have partnered with other retail outlets to be a Service Partner to continue our growth and expertise by being a parts and service solution for our customers.

Description of Work: They performed tune-up services and some minor repairs on my Toro push mower and Honda string trimmer. The people were generally stand-offish. After picking up the equipment and getting them home we realized that the string trimmer, which was seeping fluid (one of the minor repairs), was now leaking gasoline (our van smelled of gas for 3 days). When I called for them to correct the problem at my home (didn't want it back in my van) they refused. When I asked them to pick it up, they refused. When I suggested I would not be back as a customer they didn't care. I brought it back to them correct the original "repair" and they did not apologize or take responsibility for it (other than correcting the problem). Fortunately for them, apparently, they don't need my business because they will not be getting it.

Worked great for us.
Description of Work: Our lawnmower would not start. Dropped it off on Tuesday and was told it would be up to two weeks. They called the next day to say it was ready. Cost the minumum price quoted.

Description of Work: West Chester Lawn picked up my riding mower and serviced it for the season. They were prompt and professional. The last company I used did not charge to pick up and drop off my mower. West Chester charged $50 which was somewhat of a disappointment. However, the quality of service made it worth it.

Description of Work: I purchased a Toro mower from them. I wanted to support a LOCAL company and if I had any troubles (I think it's easier to use a smaller company.) From the time that I got there nobody wanted to wait on me (that's how I felt. It wasn't busy at all.) and when they finally did they try to lead me to the cheapest mower and I had done my research and knew which one I wanted. My mower is a little over a year old and has been back to the shop twice for warranty work. When I tried to explain my problem the customer service rep. cut me off and said "just let us check it out" Maybe if they would have listened to my whole story I wouldn't have to brought it in the second time! I don't mind paying more if I'm going to get great service...but I just feel like they need some customer service classes and not to judge people by what they think they may buy!!!!
