Dryer Vent Wizard of Greater Cincinnati

I live in Union, KY, and have been in my condo since the beginning of 2000. After seeing a segment about the dangers of lint buildup in dryer vents on Channel 9's "Don't Waste Your Money" with John Matarese, I started watching my drying times. Sure enough, as time went by, the drying times were getting longer, a sure sign that my dryer vent needed cleaning out . Due to family problems, I had gotten behind with normal maintenance issues. So as soon as I was able to be home long enough, I called the Dryer Vent Wizard to make the appointment. I called on Monday and got one for 11:00 Thursday morning. My technician's name was Doug, and he was absolutely great! He called ahead to tell me when to expect him and appeared right on time. He was very professional, wearing shoe protectors to come into the house. He was a very pleasant fellow and explained that he had some things to check before he could tell me exactly what he would do. My laundry room is on the first floor, and the dryer vent runs under my kitchen floor straight out to the outside, where there is a shuttered vent cover. He went downstairs into the storage room to look at the vent pipe, checking to see how many turns there were. The more turns you have, the more expensive the cleaning. He checked behind the dryer to see how it was connected to the wall. Because my dryer was six years old, the connection is no longer up to code, so I knew I wanted to replace it with the rigid pipe with flexible joints that he showed me. You could see that the old accordian-style connector was a lint-catcher. Finally, we turned on the dryer (no heat--just air) and went outside where he used a digital meter to measure the speed of the air flow. He said anything below 15 definitely indicated cleaning. I was a little above that, so it was up to me what I wanted to do. NO PRESSURE! I told him to proceed. He did a thorough, professional job, and I was totally satisfied. He even vacuumed out the lint trap area with a small nozzle attachment, so there's no lint left in my dryer either. We went back outside to check the air flow. IT WAS DOUBLE what it had been before! Obviously I am completely satisfied and will definitely call for him when it's time to clean out again. When he left, my laundry room AND outside at the vent were as clean as before he got there. This guy is wonderful !

It turned out just fine. There were some additional charges just because I had put on a new vent cover to the outside of the house and I have an unusually long dryer vent. This was the first time I used them. They were very nice and professional and they did their job and cleaned everything up. I would use them again.

Great, first visit it was raining too hard to do any work so he came back. He was on time both times which is important because I have a crazy, busy schedule. My dryer was taking forever to dry even small loads and now that is not a problem.

It was an Angie's List Big Deal that I purchased. It was good. It went very, very well. They came the week after I purchased the deal. They did a very nice job. I had to pay more because they had to reroute the entire system. I used them a year ago and they did a good job so I called them back this year. They were on time and polite.

They were very prompt. The gentleman was very thorough and honest.

I emailed Ed and he had his technician come over on his way home from another job. I felt bad because this guy had been working all day and hadn't had dinner but showed at around 7:30 pm. He was very efficient and the vent works great.

The technician arrived on time and completed the work in a timely fashion. I used one of the Angie Big Deals ($150 value for $88) and once they were here, learned they have 2 cleaning prices based on size brush they use ~ one for $88 and the other for $150. I was disappointed that our house required the $150 service, my impression was the $88 would cover the cleaning and had planned the difference/balance would cover their separate inspection/diagnostic charge. In the end the cost was $88 Angie's Deal + $150 cleaning + $90 for new conduit + $49 for inspection fee - $150 (Angie's Deal value).

Well, they came out and tried to tell us that we needed several other services done, basically trying to get more money out of us is how we felt. And it was more than we wanted to spend. Because of this experience, we didn't even have them do the actual work. Once they got there, the job become much more complicated than just a simple clean-out.

I bought the Angie's list big deal for vent cleaning. I called in within a few days and the got me scheduled about 3 weeks out. In reading the fine print I knew there were more services I could purchase when they came and had already decided on two before they arrived. The technician was on time, in fact he was a little early which was great. He looked over my dryer and suggested a cleaning of the dryer interior and also putting on a newer connector from the dryer to the wall which were the extras we had already decided to purchase. He let me know what he was doing and about how long it would take and proceeded to get everything done within his estimated time frame. The new connector actually caused my dryer to stick out a bit and when I voiced some concern he worked on it until I was happy with the install of the new part and that it was back and even with my washer. Since they're in a small room every inch counts. When he finished with everything he was really polite and friendly and suggested a routine cleaning schedule. I would definitely use them again and will for my future vent maintenance.

Excellent! The head technician was Bob Keller on this job. Dryer Vent Wizard had been here in December 2012 to fix the transition and switch the location of the washer and dryer and did what I though was a very good job. Clothes had fallen off the dryer and I thought they had pulled the vent pipe out of the wall. Bob evaluated the problem and felt that should not have been enough to pull out the vent. He repaired the transition, replaced the pipe through the wall, as he said it was too short, and retaped and caulked the cover. It took 90 minutes and said the only charge was for a diagnostic inspection(house call) as it should have all been done the first time. Honesty and a true class act. He is an asset to the company. I always say it's not the first sale where you make the money it's all the ones after it. I will certainly use this company again and have already told all the kids to get their dryer vents inspected by Dryer Vent Wizard----request Bob please.

The entire process was about an hour. The technician was extremely thorough and knowledgeable. We set up a yearly service contract as well.

They are wonderful and are good people. They are a reliable company that saved me from a dryer fire a couple years ago.

He was terrrific and I would use him again in a heartbeat.

We were pleased with the service. They were pretty straightforward and very helpful in recommending their services and how they did it. They gave us recommendation in what we could do, what our options were. We're happy with the price. They did good job and the quality was good, too. They left us stuff so that we can maintain it later.

I purchased an Angie's List Big Deal special offer for this service and it turned out well. The technician did not try to push any other services on me. He showed up within a short amount of time after we made the appointment. He took care of the work in short order because we did not have a very complicated situation. There was no flexible pipe involved; it was all rigid which made it a lot better. He got it all cleaned out and it all worked fine.

The service man was professional, personable and did a great job. I had used this company twice before in the past and was very happy with their service then as I was this time. I would use this company again and refer friends and family to them.

Brought DVW in to do a dryer duct cleaning as my dryer was taking longer to dry clothes. What he discovered was that my vent had been removed by the roofing contractor two years prior and I was "venting" into the attic. Doug (at DVW) stepped me through the problem and fixed it within the hour. He was a pleasure to work with and I will have DVW return every 2 years for a cleaning and inspection.

Neil arrived at the time that was scheduled. He proceeded to check the inside of the dryer and the vent pipe. He then went outside and began removing the considerable amount of lint from the vent pipe. After removing the lint from the pipe, he removed the extracted lint. He also cleaned the cover of the pipe.

everything went well. Service man was very polite. He arrived on time and did a great job. We had a $79 coupon for $150 value. Great deal.

I don't think this work had been done since the building (we're in a condo) was built in the '80's. He did the best he could, although recommended a full building cleaning. The dryer works much better now.

Left trash in my house and garage. Charged $579 and did mechanized NOT asked for to meet the estimate. Did something I did NOT ask for- joined angie s list for vent cleaning and feel totally ripped off. Beth

He explained what needed to be done, and why. He was very courteous. Very efficient worker.

The service provider ran ahead of schedule so he was able to start earlier than the appointment time. He cleared my dryer vent through the outside termination point of my building,. He then pulled my dryer away from the wall,inspected the venting conduit and suggestedI have it changed it to meet code. I had a choice of conduits and it took approx 10 minutes to install and then vacuum behind the dryer. I live in a multi unit dwelling and he had to climb an approx 20 foot ladder to complete the work. My drying time has been decreased and is near new.

The guy was really good. I just bought his house, but apparently the vent went to the coal place under the house. The exterior vent was not attached to anything, to the wall, to the fence up there and I got super high space out there. I feel sorry for the guy but he did a very good job. The guy seem very efficient, he knows what he's doing, he knows his job done, what more can you say. He did everything, he ran the aluminum pipe, instead of plastic pipe.They come up and clean up the ranch. Normally, all they do they ran some brush through and blower in that, that about takes 30 minutes not 5 hours, when I come out it's like 30 minutes.
