They took pictures and all that stuff and said I need this fixed and need that fixed and sent me the pictures. I guess, they wanted to talk face to face. My wife was here, but I wasn't. I guess, they wanted to give me a price. They did the chimney sweep, but I never got a price on all the things that needed to be fixed. I was in a rush to get it done because I wanted to light my fireplace. But, what I got from them was that I needed some things done before I light my fireplace. So, I didn't. They told my wife that they did financing or something. Since they said they do financing, I'm thinking they're probably talking about $1000 or more. They never got back with me. Even if they were waiting for me, they should have been aggressive in getting back with me, at least to give me a chance to say yea are nay. I'm willing to use them as long as I know how much it costs and they give me an opportunity to say yes or no.

It went fine. It ended up being a really high estimate. But the guy that came out was very nice. He was very nice and very pleasant. The quote came in quite a bit higher than I expected. It was $99 for the chimney inspection and it was going to be $1600 to have a new thing put on top of my chimney and a lot of other things. He said he would throw in the cleaning for that. But, it was just not in my budget right at the moment. He could have given me a cheaper quote. He showed me pictures of what he was seeing. But he was going to email them to me as well and I haven't received an email. I got the quote but I did not get the pictures. My husband would be much more likely to pay the bill if he saw the pictures. The only thing that was a negative was I never got the pictures. I thought that they would at least clean the chimney a little bit more. I was expecting it to be cleaned as well. He did a very good inspection. It took him a lot longer to come out than I thought it would. But, it wasn't a big deal.

I had an appointment scheduled for between 1:00 and 2:00 arrival. Albert called to tell me his arrival time, which was right on. He came in explained what he was going to do and how. As he was doing the sweep, he was explaining safety points to me which was really helpful. He explained the safety points that needed to be taken care of and why. I could tell he knew what he was doing. He came in, did his job, did some repairs that needed to be done, and he left. Albert was very professional and did his job well. I will have them back next year and asked for other estimates.

Very smooth. They showed up exactly when they promised. Did a great job and absolutely no problems. Great company... I'll call them again next year.

They were okay I just went with somebody else. Somebody told me about this other place so. They came out a couple of days after the purchase date.

Arco does not offer the service we needed but Denise called with the names of 2 Contractors who did, in fact she called twice to make sure we got info.

From the phone calls to the estimator to the crew supervisor - everyone was very professional. The job did get delayed once started, but only by a day or two, and since it was outside the home, did not impact us. They did a great job, and we asked them back to fix gutters - also done very well. They impressed me with their professionalism, and they met competitors quotes too. All in all, very impressed, and they will certainly do work for us again.

They were courteous and very clean in their work. They did a good job. They wanted to other repairs, but I didn't find them to be immediately necessary. Extra cost that I wasn't made aware of. I think this happened because they acquired a company. The original person I was working with must have left the company. The new people didn't want to honor the prices from the original representative I was working with. They ended up having to come out several times and weren't even able to fix it.

Updated review: This is an update to the original review. The original job went very badly with Arco Construction dropping the ball sweeping my chimney and me leaving a poor review of them. Patrick, the owner, called me and explained that they had screwed up, this wasn't typical of their service, and wanted to make it up. He offered to do the repairs they quoted at a highly discounted rate. Being a business owner myself, I understand things happen and believed he really wanted to make things better.. I agreed to the additional repairs and the guys showed up when scheduled. They took care of the repairs, swept the chimney again to make sure nothing was missed. While there, they also told me my gutters were full of leaves and offered to clean them at no charge! When they were done, they showed me photos of all the work and made sure I was completely satisfied before leaving. Let's just say there was a night and day difference between the two experiences. Seeing the other reviews on Arco Construction and after talking to Patrick about his company, I do believe the first time was an anomaly and that they really care about satisfying the customer. I have left the original review below so that you can see what happened initially, how aggravated I was then and how satisfied I am after Patrick and Gary made everything right! Sometimes you get the best customers by bending over backwards to make up for a mistake and that is what they did this time. Gary, go ahead and schedule my chimney sweep for next year! Original review: I just had my chimney cleaned by Arco Remodeling. I opened my flue to start a fire the next night and all kinds of soot fell down! As I worked the damper back and forth, piles of soot formed on the wood stacked below. Once the chimney was cleaned, no one came back inside to check and make sure nothing had fallen inside or to check the operation of the fireplace. I am now worried that soot has clogged the baffles and that it may start a fire! I called to tell them my concerns and they said Gary would be back out the next week since he would be in the area. Gary also called and said the baffles look very fragile and he didn't want to break them by cleaning them. He said he would need to be very careful to try and prevent damaging them during cleaning. Why wasn't this stated at the beginning when they first looked at the fireplace? Surely they knew the soot would pile up there as they cleaned it, how else would they clean them properly? Well, I decided to chance letting them finish the job and hopefully not break my fragile baffles. However, no one showed and no one called for the followup appointment that following week. I did receive an email from Gary on 11/3, nearly a week later saying he could stop out in another week to finish the job if I still wanted him to. Needless to say I am not confident in the cleaning that was done to the fireplace and worry that the baffles are clogged and that it could start a fire! I expected much better considering their rating on Angie?s List!

The provider came to do a routine chimney sweep and was late due to an error in their system. They came 2 hours later after the confirmed appointment and performed the work which they were contracted to do. The person doing the work inspected the chimney area and roof, which they did provide a drop-box list so that you could review the inspection. After I reviewed the report and pictures, I decided to call my insurance company and get a claims adjuster to come out and review. I then called the provider and they said they would be happy to come out and discuss the report with the claims adjuster at the appointed time. So, they were aware that a firm time was set and that the adjuster would be arriving between 12:30-1:00 pm, and the provider was aware of the time, and then they never showed up nor did they bother to call beforehand to let me know they weren't coming. After the adjuster left, I called the company to give them another shot because I understand people are busy. However, I was told by the provider that I would be getting a call by the end of the day from the owner to discuss options on the roof and chimney. There never was any followup from the owner nor anyone from the company. The overall price that was estimated for the chimney repair and roof was in the range of $16,000. In the future, I don't mind if people get tied up and cannot meet obligations, however, let me know and don't leave me hanging. Be consistent.

Very thorough, very professional. Great response, electronic quoting and invoicing, took tons of pictures. Everything you could hope for from a Chimney Sweep. They did quote me $6,000 in repairs, which I was NOT happy about considering we just bought the place and had no idea the fireplaces were in such rough shape, but that wasn't their fault. I will be price shopping to see if it's competitive and if their assessment is accurate, but even with the estimate they were very prompt and professional.

The entire experience with this company was exceptional. From initial communication to the completion of the job. We were having continuous leaking issues that were pretty severe with water running down the front of our fire place like a waterfall everytime it rained. We were having trouble getting anyone out to do the needed repairs. I finally joined Angie's list and found Arco Remodeling. I called them on a rainy day and explained what was happening at that moment (my waterfall down the fireplace). They were very responsive and John came out that day to take a look. He was awesome! He looked over the inside where the damage was happening and up on the roof. He took several pictures so we could see where the issues were and what needed to be repaired. By that evening, he had the pics sent to us along with a quote. A week later the job was scheduled and completed the following week. John also took several pictures of the repairs, and we could tell they did an awesome job. Very professional.

Fantastic Job - Chimneys look great! Fireplace insert works and is quite enjoyable at night. We never notice how bad and ugly our gutters really were until we saw the new ones installed. Everyone on ARCO's team.... from the chimney mason to the owner were very professional. All of them were punctual and focused on doing the very best job they could. Amazing attention to detail. We were so pleased with the work and the interaction with ARCO that we looked around the house for any other work that needs done. Highly recommend!

They were here when they were supposed to be. I don't think they did what they were supposed to. I was supposed to get a camera film of my chimney, which I did not get. I don't know if it's because mine a gas log rather than wood burn chimney, but it was more expensive. I was not very happy with them. I think they should go by the requirements of what I bought the deal for. I emailed them asking questions after I got their report and they have never responded.

They arrived timely, explained everything they were doing and findings in detail. They were very knowledgeable and provided a thorough written report with pictures, which has helped me in the justification to my HOA that my condo needed a new roof sooner than spring of 2016. You cannot know what difference has been made before and after they did the job so they should take pictures.

We had several issues with our chimney. Technician wrote a list with an estimate of $1750 to do the repairs. We are still shopping around. Need our chimney fixed before winter.

After several missed schedule dates, the contractor did show up and do a good job

It went great but ended up costing 9 times the price of the Angies deal I bought. Like all things, you get what you pay for. I was quoted $400 a few years ago for just the cap.

I purchased their deal for 99.00. Not having had my fireplace serviced since 2005 (don't use it) I thought it was a good deal. believe it was John who came to service my fireplace. He was very professional and neat, tidy in his work. Vacuumed out the fireplace, swept the chimney and inspected it inside and outside, taking pictures. My chase cover I had on the top was galvanized and had started to rust and leak of which I did reschedule with them to come back out and take care of that also. Very nicely done, wonderful to work with. Looking forward to re-hiring again.
