Description of Work: I had Sears come out to fix a dishwasher. I greed to pay the $86.00 for the tech to come out and see if it could be repaired. He took 5 min. to listen and look under the dishwasher were it was leaking. He took another 3-5 min. to enter the model number and found the parts were no longer available. Sears then charged us $98.00 to push a button to tell us the parts are not available. I paid $186.00 to be told can not have the dishwasher fixed. I paid $149.00 to have sears install a new dishwasher. I could never get a resolve because I kept being sent to foreign call center who put me on hold and said they would call back. They never did.

+ -1 moreService tech charged for a service call plus his work for removing and replacing the controls. He should have checked the power source first. Cost was $148.00 to plug it in! Not good customer service. I'm not pleased with Sears. Now, Three months later, our Three year old Kenmore French door-bottom freezer refrigerator is leaking water from the freezer, another product flaw that Sears will no take responsibility for. Don't think I'll shop at Sears again.
Description of Work: Three year old Kenmore dishwasher did not operate after we arrived home from vacation. Sears serviceman came and removed control panel without checking power supply. Turns out that the power cord where it connects to the outlet was loose, not making contact.

+ 0 moreDryer bought from Sears broke down about every 6 to 9 months. Sears would come and repair it, but charge about 1/3 the original purchase price. Even though it was the same controller board every time, they never stocked the piece, and after they come out and charge for a service call,they order the pice wait 1 to 2 weeks, then schedule a 10 minute visit to replace it. My low rating is partly due to them having no replacement parts in stock, ever, which delays the entire process, and at charging 1/3 the price of a new appliance for a repair part that routinely breaks down, and only offering a 30 day warranty on repair work so you end up paying for the dryer many times over.

+ -1 moreNot so well. The tech lost track of the repairs needed on the dryer because his diagnosis system was on a separate application on his tablet. He really needed the ability to either print our or email the necessary repairs. The washer and dryers were 3 1/2 years old and just out of warranty. (extended). I didn't leave with any confidence that the repairs recommended by the repair tech would indeed fix the problem. Additionally, it was suggested that certain "control boards" were about to go bad. No other real description other than that. Aggressive follow up with Whirlpool provided very few insights. So I bought new LG Washer and Dryer from BestBuy, bought the 5 year extended warranty and haven't looked back. I won't be buying appliances from Sears or anything from Whirlpool ever again.
