 + -1 moreHarms was wonderful to work with. Very professional and actually gave us great information about our kitchen floor. Told us if we covered our ceramic floor we would be downgrading as ceramic is the best and most durable product out there. Gave us names of tile experts to regrout and clean our tile and it looks like new. It is not very often you find a company that looks out for your welfare and doesn't make any money off of their advice. I was impressed and felt I could totally trust this company. Did our bedroom floor and the results were wonderful. Great company and I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for carpeting, tile , or vinyl flooring.

 + 0 moreWe have used Harms Flooring Center for carpet a few times over the years so we went to them for ceramic tile. Harms ordered the tile for us and gave us the name of an installer. When the tile came in we called Jeremy the installer to set a date. The installation took most of one day to remove molding and the old flooring, cut and lay the new tile and clean-up. The next day he returned to do the final grouting and replace molding. That took only an hour or so. He was very professional and does excellent work. We would use both Harms and Jeremy again.
Description of Work: We had a half bathroom laminate floor replaced with ceramic tile.

 + -1 moreThe only negative part of the whole experience was the initial follow-ups on getting estimates, and this was apparently due to various people going on vacation. I had to call or stop by the business 2 or 3 times before everything was set in motion. The floor salesman was very helpful in showing me various options, explaining pros/cons of each; he even helped me select the best grout color based on my kitchen colors! The estimator was professional, very clean and well-informed re: all details and phases of what the project would involve. His measurements were accurate with minimal overage. The install team was headed by Steve, and was handled expertly. The tear-out proved to be a huge project due to unexpected layers of floor/subfloor underneath the tile. Steve gave me options on how to handle this and gave me his honest opinion on what would provide the best results for the long term. The team worked amazingly quickly, and even with the complicated tear-out, they were completely finished in 3 days. Each day they cleaned up the area, did all that they could to keep the dust contained (which is truly impossible), and generally made the process as tolerable as possible. Steve even stayed late one day to wait for me to get home from work so that he could show me some details that he wanted to explain personally. I greatly appreciated his honesty, integrity, and professionalism. The overall price was moderate, not the cheapest you could find but not the most expensive, and worth every penny. A bargain company could never match the quality of the work I received.
Description of Work: We had approximately 700 sq ft of ceramic tile removed, including 2 layers of subfloor underneath, and Armstrong Alterna grouted vinyl tiles installed. They repaired a small patch of subfloor that had rotted from water damage (water line leak) and added transition strips to all areas that abutted existing carpeting.

 + -1 moreThe sales rep came to my home to measure a bedroom for carpeting on a Thursday afternoon and my new carpeting was installed the next Tuesday. It was a special circumstance to have it done that quickly, but once the staff heard the reason why I needed the clean carpeting in the bedroom, they stepped up to the task and got it done in a professional manner.
Description of Work: I needed to replace carpeting in a downstairs bedroom to clean it up before my husband returned home from a hospital stay. Our old carpeting was beyond cleaning and I wanted a clean space for him to return to. Harm's heard my story and a sales rep came to my house the day I called to measure the room and brought samples from their warehouse for me to choose from. He was able to get a carpet installation team to my house within a week. Everything was handled courteously and professionally. I'm glad I was able to write this review for the company because they went above and beyond to help me out. I would recommend their products and staff to anyone looking to replace flooring.  + 0 moreSales men were great and the installations guys were wonderful as well. I also have asthma and fumes both me, so they cut the carpet a head of time and let it sit out so the smells and fumes wouldn't both me. I thought that was really nice of them.

 + -1 moreA rep of Harm's came out (I don't remember his name) and he said he was the one who installed the floors! We purchased the house 2-1/2 years ago, and when we bought it, the house was 2 years old. He said he would get back to me with the cost. A week passed, and I heard nothing. I left a message with the receptionist, but never received a return call. I called again a week later and left a voice message with a sales manager, but again never heard back. If they didn't want the work, that's fine. However, a courtesy call to let me know that would have been nice.
Description of Work: We wanted an estimate to refinish our hardwood floors.

 + -1 moreThey basically made all their commitments on time and duration. They were here on time. They two gentlemen who did the work here were very good in explaining what they were going to do, what their option were when they uncovered a bit of issue with the floor itself. They called me in and showed me what they were doing and again, what they could do but laying the choice before me. They were very clean as far as cleaning up after themselves. There was no issue there. I did not have to worry about it and the floors turned out really nice. I was not disappointed with them at all. I have recommended them to others. I will use them in the future.

 + 1 moreThey had to order my flooring and I think I waited about a week before they came to lay it, the installers were really NICE guys.I should have had one of my girls with me,because they didn't think I picked the right design and color. But, I love it!!! It is such a good floor and so easy to keep clean, just changed ny wallpaper in my bathroom and I now have a beautiful bathroom. I would recommend Harms flooring to any one. They did my living room carpeting in 1998 and it still looks good.
Description of Work: Had linoleum laid in my bathroom, they did a wonderful job. I wish I would have had them for my kitchen carpet,instead of another company. Live and learn.T

 + 0 moreMostly good (see above), and the carpet and flooring looked good in the end. Very pleased with how it looks.
Description of Work: We got carpet for our house and one finished basement room. We also got new vinyl flooring for 2 bathrooms. John was our salesman, not pushy, very helpful and patient. Their measurer was prompt and efficient. When the carpet/flooring job was complete there was not too much of either left over so that was good. The installers did a very nice job and cleaned everything when they were done. HOWEVER...... one of the reasons we chose Harms was we were assured that old padding and staples would be totally removed prior to new going in. Had a recent experience with carpet from a big box home improvement store weher the installer insisted the chunks of padding and staples left were fine. Well, you can feel them! and I am sure over time you may be able to see those lumps. So even though we could have done better on price from a big box store, we wanted a quality installation so we chose Harms. On the day of the install, they tore up the carpet and pad, then proceeded to tell us they do not take the staples out, "you'll never feel them". Well, we know if you are moving heavy furniture and there is something underneath to catch on, the pad can possibly tear (even though we got the top of the line pad). You should not have to fight with a carpet installer over this, it is the proper way to do it, they have a tool they use to quickly scrape them off. They complained about it, but they did it. And I was in the basement working and I could hear them carelessly sweeping them into the heat duct, c'mon! There were two guys, one was very nice and the other was kind of pissy (don't remember their names). I told Harms about this when I went to pay the balance, but it seemed to fall on deaf ears. Maybe big box store it is next time, justt make sure we prep the floor ourselves.

 + 0 moreThe initial visit for accurate site measurements was done by Steve Harm, Vice President of Harm's Flooring in Maume, Ohio who showed up on time and was very professional in every aspect. From receiving samples on the Bathroom and the Sewing room lino, to the the final choice of carpet in the finished basement, everything went wonderfully well, and the installation crews were fantastic in there care to detail and quality of workmanship. We are so impressed by this company's customer service , and there regard for making the choice's easy and less of a hassel we are now having the upstairs family room done in a hardwood of our chosing come the Fall. If there is another Flooring Company around like Harm's Flooring then I couldn't find it , and I'm sure you will not be disappointed with the service, quality of product and pricing that you will receive when using Harm's Flooring of Maume, Ohio.

 + 0 moreThey are an outlet store. I have been pleased with them. I had an independent installer that they recommended to me. I thought they were high and so they recommended someone else. I spent about $700 for all the carpeting. I would give them a pretty good rating. I thought they did nice. The carpeting was good. They were pleasant and helpful as well. The cost was a little less expensive than what I had thought. Their responsiveness, punctuality and professionalism were all good. I have used them in the past and I would use them in the future too.

Description of Work: Harm's was extremely professional throughout the entire process. When we first visited their showroom, they understood what I was looking for. They brought in a decorator who helped select three samples to take home for consideration. Their estimator arrived on time and the flooring was ordered and installed in good time. I especially like Tom, the floor installation expert. He is truly an artist. He worked hard for four days preparing and then installing the floor. Everything went great. Sometimes it was a little difficult getting in touch with our salesman to get him to answer my questions but everything turned out just great at the end.

Description of Work: They came out and gave me an estimate. Not the lowest, but not the highest either. They were very through in what they would do and how long it would take.  + 1 moreI have always been extremely satisfied with Harms. They are very professional and responsive to any calls I made to them. They have great quality carpeting, which I'm sure is why their prices are a little higher. I highly recommend this company, and will go back again when I need flooring.
Description of Work: We have used Harms Flooring several times despite the fact that they are quite a distance away from us. They made a large custom area rug for us and they did an exceptional job for a great price. I rated their prices as medium only because I feel their carpeting is a little pricey in general. (Be aware that I have no recollection of how much we spent for the area rug, but the site wouldn't let me put that in). Also, we have had their carpet cleaning services both in the home and we also took the area rug in to them to be cleaned. Their prices in this area are also somewhat higher, but the quality of cleaning is much better than other companies I have tried.

 + 0 moreWe had an insurance claim filed for our flooded basement, which allowed us to get replacement carpeting. We went to the Harm's showroom to pick out our new carpeting. The salesperson showed us carpet options which fit in our claim budget. He was very helpful with narrowing down the huge selection of carpeting they had to offer. We were able to set up a time for the installation, which was very convenient for us. The installers showed up on time, worked quickly, did a great job, and were very professional.
