Buckeye Mower Repair

It was great. He did a good job. They came out the one time and did the tune up on my mower and it’s running great ever since.

Russ sharpened the blade, changed the oil, replaced spark plug and air filter. He took the time to answer my questions and made sure everything was running well before he left. It was nice and convenient to have him come to the house.

It turned out fine. I purchased two of them. I got permission to purchase two of them. I gave one as a gift to my son-in-law. He didn't charge me extra for that. It turned out so great, that's why I bought the second one for my son-in-law. We liked the guy, he was really nice, and he is just starting out. We were happy that we had gotten a hold of him.

Tech was prompt, efficient, and very professional. Our lawn mower now runs perfectly!

BAD. I called and got Russ on Sunday, July 10th, when the mower broke. I had always used Sears but found Buckeye on Angies List with an "A". In fact, Russ talked me out of a perfectly solid appointment with Sears that I had already scheduled on July 18th, assuring me that his cost would be much less and he could also look at my push mower. He asked me to email him with the riding tractor serial number, which I did as soon as I got off the phone. He also said his assistant would call me to set up a time window but he would be on site to help me Wednesday, July 20th. After that, I never heard anything from anyone and called Russ again on Friday, July 15th. He acted as if he didn't remember our conversation, said he talked to dozens of people every day (understandable) but I was "on the schedule." Again, I emailed him the serial number of the tractor. Then, total crickets. In looking at their website I realized there is an actual office number. On Monday, July 18th, I called and left a message. A very nice lady named Molly called me back the next day, July 19th. She clearly didn't have any information on me, and in the background a baby had begun wailing. Over the screaming kid, she confessed that she had dental work the day before and Russ just gave her my info on Friday. She assured me she would "get with Russ" and determine when he'd be here on the 18th. Today is July 18th. It is 6:06 pm and here is the communication I've had from this business. (All texts): (After I texted Molly a picture of the mower and the serial number along with my address -- again! yesterday she said, "Thank you and I will get you a time ASAP.") Today at 1:55 pm, this text: Just wanted to touch base, still waiting on a firm time for you, but wanted to see about how late would be the latest you are available in the evening? Don't want to interrupt more than I have to. I responded that it gets dark at 9:00 - but I would be here all night. I am so frustrated with this unprofessional company. Hey - maybe they'll suddenly show up in my driveway and do a great job for a fair price. Miracles can happen. But if you were hiring a vendor to help you get a job done, would you put up with this? I've already called Sears and they'll be here tomorrow. I may pay more but I'll have a working mower and happy grass. One last thing - I run my own small business and understand how you can get overwhelmed. But maybe having your wife, who obviously has a baby, try to keep on top of your busy schedule is not the best way to do business. She seems really nice, but, like Russ, are overwhelmed right now. My recommendation? Hire a professional and not Buckeye Mower.

Russ did an excellent job! He was on time and had great customer service. He also took a look at an older mower we have and let us know what is wrong with it. Buckey Mower sent multiple notifications of my appointment and will definitely use again.

Fantastic. Russ did a great job! The communication from the office was great with many notices of the date and time. I know there have been issues with communication between vendors and the Angies List "Deal" purchases, as I have now heard this from multiple vendors, but once I talked to the office and got things scheduled, everything went great. Will definitely use Buckeye Mower in the future.

Awful. Took forever to respond to contact. Blamed Angie's list. Rescheduled appointment on day of. Claimed they went to house to knock on the door, was home all morning, and never called.

Perfect. Technician was timely and pleasant. Delivered an excellent service.

The relationship started out rough as there was apparently a failure of Angie's List to transfer deal buyer's information to Buckeye Mower. After I'd cancelled and had the deal refunded I received a very apologetic call from Buckeye Mower in which they offered to do the service for less. I will definitely use Buckeye Mower in the future and recommend them.

Responsive and convenient because he comes to your residence. There was some snag with an Angie's List software conversion so he wasn't getting notified of request for service (after I'd paid) but this was easily resolved. Appointment was set up a couple weeks out and he was punctual and performed the service I expected.

There was an initial issue with contacting them by phone for a few weeks, but they did respond to text for scheduling. They did good service on our lawn mower, however. They were a bit late arriving for the job as well. He did not provide a written invoice for the service until a while after the work was completed and had to ask for it. Overall, it was a good deal. Since the job has been done, he contacted us to make sure the lawn mower is working well.

They were okay. It took a really long time to get it scheduled. When I called to schedule it, I said that it's a very long time. She said, "Well, if you don't like it, I don't know what you want us to do." She was busy. I don't think that was the most professional response to that. I'd give them a C because of that major delay. They actually called me like 6:00 in the morning that they were supposed to come and then tried to change the time of the appointment. I said I have plans. They ended up coming anyway. My interaction with them was fine. I think the work went well. They did their thing. They did come early.

He discovered the problem and fixed it. He changed the filter & spark plug, cleaned the under-body and sharpened the blades. He even help me catch my run-away dog!! I love the convenience of him coming to my home as I do not have a way to transport a mower to another location.

They were able to pick up my lawn mower, get it running and tuned-up, and bring it back to me in the same week. I even missed the appointed drop-off time, and they were able to meet me later that day which was amazing.

There was no communication what so ever. Was unable to get scheduled. He was impossible to work with.

Russ was great, plain and simple. First he called me because he was in my area and was able to come early, which helped save me time in the evening. When he arrived he was super nice. My young son was home and Russ even "fixed" my son's little toy mower because he had to have his mower fixed too since my mower was getting fixed. Russ was very efficient and was able to show me a few things on my mower I didn't know. I would absolutely hire him again, and will for my snow blower service and repair.

There were some communication hiccups but a date and time were nailed down. This was a package deal that included a general cleaning and tune-up. I asked if the self propelled mechanism could be fixed and a cable was adjusted. The mower moves along much better. But it is an old mower and some parts need to be replaced so I was given a cost estimate if I want the work done at a later time. Since the cost was such that a new mower might be considered, I asked for advice on buying a new one and brand/model features/price was given. I am very pleased with the work. The convenience of having the work done at my home is great.

Scheduling was very easy via the website. I received a reminder email of the appointment a couple days prior. The technician, although very ill, was on time, early actually which i didn't mind at all, professional and quick. I didn't have any gas in the machine or on hand so couldn't test the machine to see if it would start but Russ said if I had any issues to call or email. When i finally did get gas later that day and found that the machine would not start i emailed Russ and he came right back out. A simple spark plug issue that had i had gas on site would have been addressed at the appointment. I will definitely use this company again.

This turned out to be a good experience. My request for service was routine annual maintenance. My mower was running well enough and I was okay with waiting in line for service. Russ Myers came to my home, was prompt, pleasant, very efficient and apparently very effective. I could see an difference in mowing performance as soon as I took it out for a spin later in the morning. The house-call is a big benefit for many people and clearly it is offered by a company owner who cares about his work and his customers.

Superior great job. Would definitely recommend and use Russ again. He came on Sunday to our place on late notice. What great service and fast response to our problem. He didn't charge us for even coming out. The problem was an easy fix just a piece of bark lodged , but still could have charged us for coming to our house. Just a great person to know and he knows his lawn mowers. Thank you and I think he should get an A+.
