Description of Work: We had a cook-top that was installed incorrectly and they fixed the problem.

Description of Work: Dishwasher under warranty had a number of minor issues that the technician fixed quickly and efficiently.

Description of Work: freds appliance was assigned to repair my stove (gas) by way of my home warranty company. during this visit i inquired of the technician if he would be able to quote a price on repair of my icemaker in my whirlpool side by side refrigerator. the icemaker in my freezer was not functioning correctly and needed to be manually stopped or started in the ice-making process. this service was not one covered by the home warranty (icemakers never are) and would be a separate job and price for me. josh, the tech, looked at the icemaker and surmised that he would need to order a new one. parts and labor cost 254.00. while this seemed high, i was tired of making the icemaker function, so.... as it turned out, he had an icemaker on his truck. he had the old one out and the new one installed in less than a half hour. i was happy that i could finally stop 'babysitting' my icemaker. three months passed and i heard strange sounds from my freezer. i looked in to see that the new ice maker was not stopping when the arm was telling it to (the ice piles high and lifts this arm to shut off). seems the arm has come out of the hole it was inserted into. how this happened i dont know. in the past few months i have had to keep an eye on this 'new' ice maker and reinsert the shut off arm many many times as it comes out all by itself. i have sent emails to freds about this but never received a reply. i happen to know that the bulk of the charge to replace this icemaker was for labor, as an icemaker itself does not cost more than $100.00 at the best stores (sears, for instance). i was not in a position to make this repair so i sucked up the cost as a lesson in life. i bought this home with the refrigerator, i wont buy a side by side with ice maker in the future, so as to avoid this cost again. i should have saved my money and left my manual icemaking set up alone, however, as i am in the same boat i was in before this repair, except i have $254 less in my checking account.

Description of Work: I had called Whirlpool for service to my dryer because it said the "control locked". They referred the call to Fred's Appliance. I received a called that same day and Fred's set up an appointment for a service call. Fred's explained what the service call fee would be. The service tech came out and told me I apparently had pressed the "control lock" button and all I had to do was press it in and hold it for ??? minutes. It worked. For this I had to pay a service fee. I did ask him a question about my washer (which is working) he gave me some advice, started a cycle (without laundry) and left. It took less than 20 mins. They were very punctual on their appointment and very professional but I don't know if I would have them back because they did not do anything. Also I was uncomfortable with signing a electronic device rather than a paper copy and receiving a receipt.
