Good. LED lights on our new Whirlpool refrigerator weren't working. It wasn't the control module, but the wiring harness. Clean, quick, courteous performance. They call the day before with the service window. Customer Must confirm.

A friend recommended Fred's Appliance so I made an appointment online, which was very convenient. I got regular updates and follow-up regarding the confirmation of my appointment. Also, they e-mailed me a link to follow the progress of the tech throughout the day so that I would know about what time to expect him within the 3 hour window I had been given. The tech was courteous and knowledgeable. There were a few pieces of broken glass in the drain pump impeller, which were impeding it's function. He was able to diagnose the problem, remove the debris and get the unit functioning properly. He also fixed a minor issue with incorrect installation of the drain line, although this was not part of the problem. The overall experience was very good, especially when my usual experience with any kind of service is lack of responsiveness.
Description of Work: My 1 year old Frigidaire dishwasher was not draining properly. The technician diagnosed and fixed the problem.

The office called several times to confirm my appointment and then called when the technician was on his way, which was well within the window I had been provided. Brian arrived, and we had a very friendly greeting before I showed him the washer. He knew immediately what caused the issue I was experiencing with this washer that was brand new. He took pictures, explained the issue, directed possible solutions, entered all the information on his computer, made sure I understood, and then took his leave, after asking that I review as I am now doing. My only complaint would be the experience of calling to confirm the appointment. My only options were to either confirm or cancel the appointment. I had a question. I think what I heard was to call a number if I had questions, but when I called, it was the same computerized line I had reached to confirm or cancel. I only wanted to know whether I would be called when the technician was en route, so that I wouldn't have to take off work all afternoon(since I only work three minutes from home). Because I didn't get that answer, I did have to take the time off (although I was able to bring home work), only to find -- as noted -- that they did call to let me know. Brian was extremely personable and helpful. He left me a magnet and some calling cards, and I will not hesitate to share them with family and friends.
Description of Work: He showed me why my new washer wasn't performing and explained how to rectify the situation. While he was onsite, he also went over peculiarities of this particular machine and explained things I might expect to see and hear that are different from past appliances.

Chris arrived exactly on time with a smile on his face and a very professional look. He tore apart the washer almost completely , working non stop and doing it very quietly. I checked in with him from time to time and he informed me that all was proceeding as expected. It took about 4 hours which was amazing because the entire washer was apart. After he got it back together he ran it through all the cycles and informed me that he was satisfied that the repair was complete and it should be as good as new. This was a very difficult job , partly because of the confined space he had to work in and the difficulty of the task itself. I'm doing some clothes as I write this and it seems to be working great. Fred's Appliance will be my first call for sure should I need any repairs in the future.
Description of Work: He completely disassembled our 6 month old Whirlpool Cabrio washer to replace a bad bearing.

Fred's appliance was outstanding. They are very organized and provided the most efficient handling of service the customer. We amazed by the employees. They are ALL courteous, knowledgeable, polite, and care about helping their customers. Our technician was (Eric M) was on time, courteous, knowledgeable, and friendly. The whole experience was a pleasure. The company cares about their customers and hires people fulfill that caring. I would recommend this company to anyone who needs appliance repairs.

Ben is very professional - he came out a week ago and diagnosed the problem, ordered the part, and then came again today to replace the part. The washer works great. And we love their automated system. We get a call the day before giving us an approximate time that the technician will arrive. And we get an e-mail with a link to their online schedule. I can click on the link and get a better idea of when he will arrive. And I can change the appt online very easily. We love working with Freds, and would recommend them to anyone that we know.

My appliances were covered under warranty, I contacted the warranty company and they in turned contacted Fred's Appliance. Fred's appliance then contacted me to make the appointment. They asked for my email address, and sent me a picture of the technician and the date and time window he would be arriving. He was right on time. When the technician, Brian found the problem with the washer (which was the belt), he found that it had to be ordered. He ordered the belt and had it shipped the next day to our home. When the belt arrived he came back and completed the job. I was very happy with the very professional manner Brian worked while in our home. He always had covers on his shoes and a tool blanket down while working. He also had a very friendly manner and cleaned up after the work was completed. When Brian worked on the Amana Dryer, he found that the problem was the timer. He also found that due to it's age the timer was no longer available, so the dryer could not be fixed. He contacted the warranty company and told them of the situation. The warranty company then contacted me and made arrangements for a new dryer. Overall I thought the work Brian did was outstanding, and that Fred's appliance was a very good company to work with.

Fred's Appliance was great and easy to work with. They were professional, prompt and easy to work with. We were especially impressed with our technician, Brian. He was knowledgeable, professional, ethical and answered all of our questions. He went out of his way to answer all of our questions and go over our alternatives. As a result of his service call, we had a satisfactory resolution with the appliance manufacturer, despite the dishwasher being ten years old. We would use the service again. Note: The service call was paid for by Whirlpool, so I can not comment on the price.
Description of Work: Provider checked out the cause of our dishwasher fire and reported the findings to manufacturer.

The scheduling process is smooth. Call in or log in to set up a date and time period ( morning, afternoon etc) they contact you the next day with your scheduled time plus a 3 hour window when they will arrive. The day of service they call to say they will arrive in the next 15 min and they do.) Tech Shawn was friendly and informative, telling me what was being done. Wore booties over shoes, put protective pad on the floor where he worked, was very careful using a protective plastic pad to slide dishwasher out and protect wooden kitchen floor. Service was great, the part was shipped right to the house in 2 days and he returned the next to put it in. The best part was just letting me watch and chat with him while he worked. This is the second time I have used Fred's. Only one service fee was charged even though he returned to put the part in. I then paid for the part and installation. The work is guaranteed.
Description of Work: Found that the pump needed replacing in the dishwasher. Ordered the pump, it was delivered to the house in 2 days and they came the next to install it.

Was given this company through my home owners warranty for a fridge that was freezing. They used a great amount of technology and were quite prompt. The only problem is that it took 4 visits to fix the problem (2 diagnosis and 2 repair after ordering parts), each of which I had to miss work for. I would have preferred evenings or a weekend after the first failed attempt.

..Fred's contacted me to fix the repair, I had called Kitchen Aid , the bottom of freezer would collect water freeze and drain onto floor, we would break the ice and dry the bottom. and repeat . Kitchen Aid would pay for repair . The part came the next day,and the repair was done in the afternoon. It was great. If the repair works I will stay happy.

iShe attempted to negotiate the price lower and repairman offered to go down $10. She reluctantly agreed to the repair. He went to the truck and got the part. My girlfriend got the part number off the box and looked up the cost online. She found it averaged $76.00. She again asked if he would lower his estimate based on the 100% markup. He said that he was not authorized to negotiate furher. She paid the $86 service fee and sent him off. She ordered the part and looked on line to see how the repair was done. It seemed to be fairly simple. There was also quite a few comments about the pump getting clogged with coins or lint. The part arrived and we set out to replace it. Long story short, we removed the cap to the pump and found that it was indeed clogged with lint! The repairman NEVER checked. He totally lived up to the sleezy reputation of repairman. NEVER AGAIN FRED.
Description of Work: Through Sears, my girlfired contacted Freds Appliance for repair to her Maytag front load washer that was not draining properly. The repairman arrived 30 minutes after the window of time specified. He claimed that he was unable to read the house address due to the recent snow. He offered to put on booties and made his way into the basement. He tilted the machine and took off the front panel. He quickly got on to his computer and wrote up an estimate of $360. He spent more time wirting the estimate than examing the machine.

After several reschedules due to an ever changing parts delivery date, the washer lid was dropped during installation and was chipped as was the washer top. Solution was to send paint with no explanation; and yet another lid had to be ordered. More about the handling versus the shall chip!

They replaced one burnt out heating element in our double oven. The oven worked ok unless you tried to use both ovens at the same time and then it took 45 minutes or more for both ovens to get to temperature. We called Fred's Appliance back in and they came out and checked things out and couldn't find anything wrong, so the repair man told my wife that it just takes that much time and there was nothing wrong with the ovens. Well, we have owned this oven for many years and my wife certainly knew that the ovens never took more than 10 to 15 minutes to get to temperature. At that point we just lived with the problem for awhile but after 6 months the oven got worse and now was not even able to get up to temperature when both ovens were being used. We called Fred's Appliance again and complained and asked them to send a service man out as they never fixed the original problem. They said they would have to charge us a service call because it was over 6 months. I explained that we should not be charged a service call because your serviceman never fixed the problem correctly in the first place. They would not budge on the service call fee. Well if I have to pay a service call fee to someone it certainly won't be to the same company that can't fix the problem after being given two chances. I called Toby's Appliance and Toby came out and had the problem figured out within a matter of minutes. It needed a new control board and that is why the ovens were taking so long to heat up and never worked right after the heating element was replaced.

Eric was professional and competent and completed the repair job in a timely manner. He was respectful of my floor and cabinetry and made every effort to leave the repaired work in better shape than when he found it. He leveled and balanced my refrigerator, something that had not been done by original installers.
Description of Work: Eric arrived 1/2 hr. into the time frame given after a call had announced that he was coming. He knew what my problem was, immediately brought in all his equipment to keep the area clean and safe while he was working, and made the repair to my refrigerator in a very timely manner. He needed to install a new drain tube because the old one was forming ice and leaking into the freezer. He explained the old vs. new pieces of equipment and how they worked. He cleaned the area more thoroughly than I expectd, and acted professionally in all he did.

The company gave me a three hour window the day before the appointment. Eric called about 10 minutes before he arrived within that window. He put on shoe covers and asked me what the machine was doing. I left him to his work and soon he came back with the diagnosis. He had the $50 part in his truck and fixed it quickly. I was glad to have a company that knows and is trained in the new technology of Whirlpool's Cabrio. The total cost seemed high, but the work was done well.
Description of Work: The Technician, Eric, diagnosed the Cabrio washer. It had not been spinning all the water out of the clothes. He determined that the latch assembly was broken.

In a brief word ... GREAT! Fred's is a very professional operation ... they are A+ in my book ... Tim and Eric are excellent tech's that always worked for the total satisfaction of this customer ... they made multiply trips here to complete the repairs of the board and never seemed "put out" due to the problems encountered during the repairs since the board was sent out to a third party ... Our refrigerator with ice maker in door was leaking. Luke arrived right at 8:00. Knew what the problem was right away and got to fixing it. The small plastic "valve" that he replaced looked like it cost perhaps 35 cents to make. He pulled out the refrigerator/freezer, took off the old plugged valve and put in the newer and larger one which he said should keep it from plugging up in the future. He spent the bulk of his time with a steamer, removing the ice that had built up in the freezer and near the condenser that was caused by the plugged up valve. I know one must pay for a technicians expertise and his drive to one's home, but the amount charged seemed excessive. The bill was sent electronically, but only 1/4 of it showed up on the screen so I'll have to call the company and ask that it be resent to us.
