Very good communication. Appointments were kept. Work was done in a timely fashion. There were minor landscaping issues but when we informed Mitch, he made sure they were addressed and was very good about making in convenient for us. When completed, the job looked great and I would recommend this company.

Mitch came out and did the initial look through and the guys were very professional. The driveway looks good and I think they did a good job. I will know more when winter comes. I was not happy with the way they left the garage and I told him that. He said that shouldn’t have happened but he did not offered to come back and clean that.

The job went as expected--the concern we had about the water under the old asphalt ment that there was some uncertainty about the time and cost to provide a solid base. After the old asphalt was removed they showed the problem and dug out "truck loads" of wet clay. The new stone seems to have stabilized the base. The asphalt installation crew did an organized and neat job. Since there are stone walls on both sides of the driveway the process required care and hand tamping. There was no damage to the stone work! At the end of the project they cleaned up everything and the yard was in great shape.

They graded and laid a base fill on one day and paved the next. It looks terrific. They were very careful not to damage anything on either side of the alley, including some plants and tree that I really don't know how they managed not to damage. The alley has a significant slope over the course of the block, and they made great, smooth transitions into the two garages that are accessed from the alley. All of the neighbors are very pleased with the quality of the work. I thought the estimate was quite reasonable given the amount of work involved, and the invoice was exactly for the amount of the estimate.

We decided to replace driveway with concrete instead of asphalt resurfacing.

They were professional from day one. They have the equipment to do the job as well as the professionals to run them. We are more than pleased with the time frame as well as the finished product.

.All aspects of this job went very well, from initial contact with office personnel to the laying and rolling of the asphalt. They were quick to make minor changes and additions that I requested during and immediately after the job. For example, they added a low ridge of asphalt where rainwater tends run toward the garage, and they adjusted the position of the elongated drain grid to make it exactly parallel to the garage door before they laid the asphalt. I'd recommend J.K. Meurer Corp. to anyone and have recently asked them to apply the first coat of sealer in a few weeks.

JK Meurer did an outstanding job throughout the process. They came out to give me the estimate on time, arrived with equipment and people when they promised and did an excellent job on the driveway. The people on site were exceptional. I would definitely recommend these guys to anyone.

Everything was great. They did exactly what they said they were going to do. They came out the day before to prepare the driveway and then they got it done the next day in the time frame that they said. The quote was exactly what they said. I am pleased with the job considering that some of the other quotes that I got were considerably higher. They gave the lowest quote and they did quality work. I did not directly deal with them when they were working because I was at work but my wife did and she said that they were very professional.

We had been deciding for about a year what to do with our old tennis court and driveway in disrepair. Mitch had come to our house 8 months prior to give us an estimate on excavating the tennis court then repaving the driveway. At that time, we were thinking about getting rid of the court and making it lawn and landscape. Mitch was very forthright and said right of the bat that, since we were located an hour away, his bid would not be competitive with local excavators since he would have to travel far to dump the excavated material. He still spent time giving us advice on how to go about what we wanted to do. Though we did not want to resurface at that time, after asking Mitch about it, he said that would be something his company could do and be competitive with their bidding. Fast forward 8 months later after having changed our minds to keep the tennis court and repair it. We called JK Meurer again and Mitch came out within a week or two to take another look at our tennis court and driveway. He gave a prompt proposal, which was competitive with a handful of other bids we got. Given his stellar reputation on Angie's list, we gave the green light and he was able to schedule us within 2 weeks. Can't say enough about the crews that came out. The first 2-man crew, Alan and George, came to prep the areas, clean debris and take out areas of asphalt that would impair proper water drainage. They were friendly, personable, fun to work with and very helpful. We were working along side them the entire day digging some trenches to lay electrical conduit that needed to go underground before the asphalt was laid. Though we probably got in their way, they were never bothered by it and even ended up helping us out after they were finished by taking out an additional 30 x 4 foot strip of asphalt so that we would be able to trench easier! The second crew that came two days later (we got rained out the day before) were top notch. Eddie was the foreman, very friendly, easy to work with. His crew was stellar - George, Jim, Alan, Willy, Bob, Steve and John. They clearly knew what they were doing. They were efficient and worked with precision. The end result was fantastic. Smooth blacktop with clean, neat edge lines and the tennis court especially was as smooth as could be. For the tennis court, we requested virgin asphalt mix with no recycled content and, though it was more expensive, it looks better and, more importantly, we're hoping it will prevent the rust spots that we had pop up continually with our old court surface. This really is a top-notch company and I would recommend them without hesitation.

Mitch from JK Meurer surveyed my crumbling driveway and provided a written quote by email within a couple of days. After reviewing all the estimates I received and talking over the details with each, I went with JK Meurer because Mitch took the time to explain the process thoroughly. I did not have a long driveway, but it was in very bad shape. The crew came out as scheduled and removed the old asphalt, added a new foundation layer and packed it down. The next day they came out and poured the asphalt. This job was the smoothest thing I've scheduled all year! And my driveway is beautiful. I am happy with the work. The crew was pleasant and professional.

I first contacted JK Meurer last summer. They had a full schedule, and were not able to get to our job until late fall. We decided, mainly because of weather, to delay the job until late spring of this year. Mitch Meuer gave us an estimate last summer, and that price was still good this spring. I talked to Mitch on the phone, and we set a tentative job start date of May 6, and that date depended on weather conditions. They actually started the preparation work on May 2, and with rain over the weekend, they weren't able to pave until May 8. Everyone from Mitch on down was friendly, accommodating, and professional. They were all eager to please and made sure we were happy with the job they did. We were, and are. Because it's so new, we have not yet driven on it, nor have we seen how it sheds water, but from the care they took in measuring the fall of the driveway, I'm sure there will be no problems. I'd like to single out a few guys; Bink excavated and prepared the driveway with help from Bob who drove the dump truck to remove dirt and deliver gravel. Bink came back a second day, and this time Kim was the dump truck driver. There was a larger crew for the paving. Eddie, the foreman, was the main one I spoke with, but the other guys were friendly too. Care was given to make sure no asphalt was allowed on our adjoining paver sidewalk, nor on our garage floor. We made some minor changes to the curvature of the new lane during the excavation process, and all changes were met with smiles and action. Mitch stopped by during the work, and afterwards to make sure we were happy. I may have done the company a disservice by giving them a B for price, but I think everything is expensive, so that's the reason for the grade. I'm sure they are very competitive, and more to the point, we would not hesitate to use them again, and strongly recommend them to anyone who is looking to install or repave an asphalt driveway.

I'm really pleased with the job they did. The driveway has been in for six months now and is great (Taken me a while to post this). The old ribbon driveway was original to the house and about 100 years old and cracked and sinking and so had to go. The Meurer team did the job in two days. They excavated and put in gravel on a Friday and laid the driveway on a Monday. They compacted the gravel so well that Mitch told us it was fine to drive on it over the weekend. It was! None of that gravel moved at all despite our driving on it. Our yard is quite flat and the challenge with such a long driveway was getting enough slope to drain water. It drains great. When it rains there is only one small puddle about a foot in diameter over the entire span. What impressed me the most was how the driveway merged with existing sidewalks and the garage. There are five places where the driveway meets concrete and the transition to each is flawless while maintaining that smooth slope. There was no mess, none of the concrete was damaged. They even dug out some old gravel for me that wasn't part of the driveway project. I had to work each of the days so I only got the see the finished work each day, but I was very impressed. I thought I would be from the other work they had done that had been reviewed on Angie's List. They did great work. When the Norwood Building Inspector heard they were going to do my driveway (I needed a permit), He said 'good; they do nice work, not like some of the other contractors we get sometimes.' I'd definitely recommend them.

He came out in a timely fashion and evaluated the situation. He said he'd call me back with the bid in several days. I heard nothing for 3 or 4 days. Finally, I called him and said they'd been having issues with their email and also had a company party so he hadn't gotten to it yet. When he finally emailed me with the bid, it was over $1000 than what I was expecting, based on previous experiences having my driveway re-graveled. When I got a second opinion, the bid was significantly less and more in line with what I was expecting.

Bryan came out on the day I called for an estimate. I received a detailed estimate within a few days. The scheduled job was in a reasonable time period. They had scheduled a 2 day plan but rain prevented that and the job was thoroughly completed in one day. Bryan was there at start-up and returned at the end of the day to survey the job. He agreed to replace a slab of cracked cement at no charge and finish the job with a sealant between an adjoing driveway and ours. I will use them again when and if needed.

JK Muerer Paving did a fantastic job. Our driveway was in terrible shape and way past time to be repaved. The prep crew came in the day before to prep the surface and widen it 18". The next day the paving crew showed up right on time. They had some real challenges due to the condition of the old driveway but they took extra care to bring it up to the proper grade and condition. During the work, Mitch came out to provide that extra oversight and ensure we were satisfied. The finished project looks great and we are extremely happy with both the driveway and the overall experience. We would highly recommend J.K. Muerer to anyone.

The quality of their work was outstanding; it exceeded my expectations. I think they actually did a little more paving work than what the estimator had listed, but the final result looks great. Frankly, had their sales or customer team had any communications skills what so ever, I would have given them a straight A report card. Sadly, their inability to community is what caused me to give them lesser marks for responsiveness and professionalism. Call me petty, but here are my gripes: 1. I signed and e-mailed back the contract to engage them. Did they call to thank me or even acknowledge that they received my order? Nope. After 10 days I called them and they confirmed that it had been received and that someone would call me to discuss scheduling. 2. I can't remember how long it took for the return call to discuss scheduling, but it was more than a few days. Some think that I am too critical because I, too, am a sales person, and that could well be the case. But, come on guys, when a customer says, "I choose to do business with you and here is your order," how hard is it to call and thank them or send out a post card acknowledging and thanking the customer for the order. Best part is my salesman made a special call to me asking me to post on Angie's List about my experience. I told him that I planned to do that and explained exactly what I was going to write. Please don't get me wrong, I will definately use this company again. Their work was terrific. I just hope that from this or other feedback they begin to as much pride in their ability to communicate as they do with the quality of the work that they perform.

Despite having come all the way from Loveland to give us the estimate, he took one look and told us flat out that, given the travel involved, his company would not be competitive with more local asphalt companies for the services we were looking for. Nevertheless, he spent about 1/2 hour with us going over what to look for from companies giving us quotes and what would be involved in the jobs we were looking to do. We were impressed by his knowledge, his ability to make a quick assessment, not to mention his honesty and forthrightness.

Mitch Meurer responded promptly and set up an appointment to give me an estimate. He described in detail the work he would recommend. Since I had other work going on, he was able to be very flexible about the start date. I received an email of the estimate the same day that he inspected the job site. The work required 2 days. The first day, the crew cleaned the old surface and cut back the old asphalt at the garage and lane ends. On the second day, another crew came to apply the asphalt. Both crews were able to perform their work without disrupting my neighbors on the narrow private lane. After completing the work, they provided instruction on how to treat the new surface until it had thoroughly cooled as well as for future care.

Chad Miller came in March to measure. He emailed me an estimate in a few days. We had to wait for concrete and some storm drain work to be completed before scheduling the paving. Excavation started July 26th all day and extended half a day on July 27th due to a drain pipe that was too shallow and had to be lowered and difficult to excavate tree roots. Bob did an excellent job with the excavation work and letting me know what was going on. Pavers came in the afternoon and were done in about 2 hours with no problems. The drain problem was extra time and cost. The drive looks good!

I was happy with the work done. There was some miscommunication initially with getting the estimate done, but Mitch Meurer was very apologetic and was very accessible via email after that. His crew was very knowledgeable and worked quickly.
