We had a wonderful experience with Chris and team at Dr. Energy Saver. We had quite a bit of work done and it was completed in one day. There were 4 people that showed up the day scheduled and they went right to work. Not only did they arrive on time, but went above and beyond to get the job done. It had just snowed the night before and I didn't have time to shovel before they arrived. Jason, one of the crew members, took it upon himself to shovel my deck for me. I have a very energetic 14 month old black lab that everyone took the time to pet and make him feel comfortable so that I didn't have to crate him all day. They cleaned up when they job was done way more than I had expected them to. Truly, the customer service far exceeded my expectations! Chris checked in with us a couple of days after the work was completed to make sure we were happy with everything. We immediately noticed our furnace not working as much as before the work was completed and I'm very excited to see the difference in our electric bill now that we had the insulation added to our crawl space, rim joists, and attic. I would recommend this company to anyone!! You will work with professionals that really care about how they can help you and you will get your money's worth of craftsmanship and work. You cannot go wrong with DES!

I am thrilled with the changes in my home since the install. I felt the difference before they were finished with half of the house. I no longer feel as if I have left a window open somewhere. The drafts are gone. The difference in the basement is just as dramatic. I mentioned I could see daylight out of several holes due to installs over the years. The recent snow stayed on my roof, hurray. That means my heat stayed in my house. I am glad I did this first thing after moving into my new home, rather than living with this cold and drafty place for years. Great investment.

The installation took 5 full days (Chris had estimated between 4-5 days) and at no time through the process did we ever doubt our decision! They were professional, gave us regular updates and cleaned up at the end of each day. A huge shout-out to Jason – Chris, whatever you’re paying that guy, it’s not enough! In the end, everything we wanted to achieve has been accomplished and Chris has followed-up with us 2-3 times to see how we’re feeling in our home. In fact, not only has our upstairs gone from the coldest part of our home to the warmest, we just got our first full Duke Energy bill and it was almost HALF of what I expected. The bill, less than $400 (for a 4800 sf home), was also the smallest winter energy bill we’ve ever received and it was for a very cold December. Chris and Jason clearly love what they do and we certainly enjoyed working with them. I can’t express how glad we are that we waited for the right company. Also, based on how things feel now, we don’t plan on getting any new windows and that will save us almost twice what we spent on insulation). My husband and I live in an old house in Mt Lookout. The 2nd floor spare bedroom/closet and 3rd floor attic space were uncomfortable during extreme hot/cold. We had 5 different companies come out to give us estimates on how to make those living areas better insulated. We researched all 5 companies but in person there was no comparison. Jason with DES was great! We specifically chose him because he gave us great information on why we were having these problems and offered a 2-step solution to fit our budget. We were impressed with his knowledge of older homes and his attention to detail. The job itself took place over two days and Jason and his team were very professional. We can already tell a difference in our home and look forward to working with DES in the future.

Dr. Energy Saver Cincinnati is a first class organization. I needed to replace insulation in my attic and called multiple different companies to get a quote on the job. I had several companies give me a quote over the phone or through an email, and one that came to my house and gave me a quote without even stepping through the front door. Jason, with Dr. Energy Saver Cincinnati, came to my house, listened while I explained what was going on, and thoroughly evaluated my house and attic. He brought me along and showed me all the potential issues. After the evaluation, he went through all options on how to remedy the situation. He explained in depth how each option worked and emailed me literature on the options. The quoted prices were among the most competitive. He and his team were extremely professional and contentious. They were true to the times they said they would arrive, and if they were even going to be 10 mins late, I was notified. They worked efficiently and respected our home as if it was theirs. When the job was done, I was shown all the work they did, and they left without a trace of them being in our house. (Probably did a better job cleaning than I would). The team even followed up with emails the following day to see if we were happy with the work. I recommend Dr. Energy Saver Cincinnati to anyone as I had a wonderful experience working with them.

Chris (owner of Dr. Energy) and his employees did a great job on everything. They all are top notch!!! Before Chris came out the first time I had met with one other person from a well known company. I got their name from the Home and Garden show down at the convention center. Their guy came out, did all his measurements and basically recommended just blowing in cellulose. Granted he came in a fair bit under your price, but he didn't go through everything as thoroughly as Chris did with every part of the house. Plus, I did a ton of research about how to properly insulate a house so I knew a few things that are a must. When I asked him about air sealing the house he said it really didn't need to be done, so right away I knew he wasn't the person I wanted to do the work. In my research, I watched a lot of videos on youtube about insulation and really kept turning to the ones by Dr. Energy. They were well done and gave a lot of information. I was really happy when I saw that there was a branch here in Cincinnati. Here are the things that really impressed me about Chris and his company: 1) Before even meeting Chris, I received the folder you sent out with your information as well as the booklet all about energy saving. 2) Usually a person interested in getting an estimate gets a rep from the company instead of the owner. That in itself was impressive. 3) Upon meeting Chris, I really liked his personality. He is very knowledgeable about all this stuff and he worked with me and came up with a plan to best fit my needs. I liked how he looked at this house - and every other house he has done - as different from the rest. Each one is individual and a unique puzzle to figure out. A lot of companies know what they are going to do ahead of time and look at every house as the same. 4) His crew was top notch. I'm a pretty trusting person by nature and I can read people fairly well. Working with him initially and putting the puzzle together really put me at ease and I felt that I could trust that Chris and his crew would do an excellent job. I also know that people don't get the appreciation they deserve. Sometime a thanks isn't enough so in this case I thought food & drink might work! I'm glad that it did. 5) His follow up was great and I feel good knowing that if anything doesn't work properly then he'll come out to tweak it. 6) Finally, Chris worked with me on price. It came over what I originally intended to spend, but I know that what he did is the right thing to do and in the long run will save me money and the environment a lot of CO2 released into the air.

Everything went great! I'm a DIY guy with an engineering background, and I tend to be skeptical about these services, but his method of evaluating the house for issues gave me 100% confidence that the source of my problems were real. In addition his guarantee that the recommended solutions would solve the problems gave me more confidence. The evaluation of the house included an air blow test where they put a large fan in the front door and pull a slight vacuum on the house. We then walked around with a smoke wand to visually see where air was leaking into the house. He also had an infrared camera that showed the heat loss areas around the house. His quote provided a menu of recommended solutions where some were optional and others were highly recommended. In the end, the work was completed well and after going through a winter and summer after the work was done, I am pleased to say that I don't need the space heaters that I used to use around the house and I can actually make it cold in the house during the summer. These are things I was never able to do in the past. The leaky fireplace that made my family room uncomfortable all the time is no longer leaky and I don't need blankets to watch TV anymore. My only regret is that we didn't do this 20 years ago!

I cannot tell you how grateful I am for Dr. Energy Saver. We have been in our house now for over a year and the cooling/heating bills have been crippling. With the colder weather we have been spending crazy amounts of money to heat the house and our daughters room was the coldest room in the house. We would have to have a space heater on 24/7 in her room to make it just livable. Plus our floors would be so cold you would have to have socks and slippers on all the time. I was fed up with it and so I contacted two companies USA Insulation and Dr. Energy Saver. USA was only in our house for less than 15 mins, while Chris was in our house doing all sorts of test for over an hour. So the decision was an easy one! I contacted Chris at Dr. Energy Saver about helping us fix the problem. Chris, Jason and their crew showed up right on time and I was shocked they took the time to introduce me to each of their crewmembers. Which was extremely comforting since I’m a stay at home mom with my husband at work when they were here. HUGE plus in my book, team was so kind and extremely professional. They were at the house for a day- working on re-sealing the attic and placing new insulation in the attic, as well as working in the basement on the “rim joist” I believe that is what Jason said it was called. After they left I was curious so I turned my heat off- and OMG my floors are warm and the biggest plus is that my daughters room is warm and the space heater doesn’t have to be on all the time. I am extremely grateful to Chris and Jason. Thank you so much for making my house more enjoyable. Can’t wait to see the difference in the summer! I contacted Dr. Energy and received a return call from Chris. He set up an appointment and was prompt. He did a thorough job of seeing what we needed to make our home more efficient and comfortable. He took pictures and showed us what things looked like in the attic and went over everything on the estimate and gave us the option of doing some things ourselves or having them complete them for us. The workers were prompt and very professional when they came and did an excellent job. Chris has also followed up with us several times to see how our home is now.

In 2015 I bought a new house, a 1970’s brick ranch. During the first big snow storm of January 2016 I noticed severe ice dams forming on my gutters near the front of the house and half of my front living room was ice cold. After investigation in the attic I discovered that the old fiberglass insulation was barely reaching the height of the rafters, air leaks from the walls (gaps of 2-3 inches), I could see into my house via the recessed lights, no insulation or covers over my soffits and in some parts of my home no insulation (front living room) which explains the cold living room. After doing a lot of research on the subject of fixing these issues I discovered Dr. Energy saver. I watched the videos and started doing more research on cellulose vs. fiberglass, price comparisons: between Dr. Energy Saver vs. other companies vs. even doing it myself. I came to realize that Dr. Energy Saver was not only the best option but provided services on everything I was looking at fixing. I set up a meeting with Chris and he came to my house, very friendly, no pushy sales pitch and no “You must sign today to get this deal.” He inspected my attic and identified all the problem areas that I already identified plus others that I did not. His price was great and we decided doing the following: 1. Remove old insulation 2. Cover and seal can lights with TightShell covers – Ended up doing this part myself. 3. Seal all air leaks in dry wall, cracks etc.. 4. Place catwalk with corral down the center of the attic for easy of access. 5. Install 4 inch rigid foam over soffits and under catwalk. 6. Install 4 inch rigid foam over attic access door. 7. Blow in brand new cellulose insulation with a R-Value of 60 (about 18-20 inches in height) 8. Placement of measuring sticks to assess the R-Value. The project did not get started until the spring due to money and scheduling on my part. Chris and his team were very flexible making changes to the project as we proceeded (I decided to do the cover and seal of the can lights myself with Tenmat recessed light covers and great foam fire block) and very honest in terms of what my attic needed. When asked about attic baffles for venting they did not try to sell something I did not need. They explained that is not how your attic vents itself and then went into detail how my attic actually does vent itself and why they were not necessary. Any other company probably would have sold me and installed the baffles to make a profit. During the removal of the old insulation they ran a vacuum hose from the outside into the attic so there was little to no mess and absolutely no dust in my house. After the placement of the rigid foam, catwalk, corral and sealants the insulation was blown evenly throughout the attic to about 18 inches in depth or so for the R-Value of 60 as promised. There was no off gas with the cellulose insulation or the foam sealant. The job took about 3-4 days and at the end of each day they cleaned up everything. I held off on their review until this winter (2016) to see if what they did worked. I can now honestly say it 100% does what was promised. The ice dams have not returned the house is warmer; the energy bill is down (Summer & Winter) and most important of all that front room is no longer an ice box. I do not regret hiring them, one of the best things I spent my money on and I plan on hiring them again next summer for another project. They are an excellent company with exceptionally hard-working employees (I don’t know what they get paid but you should give them a raise) and I highly recommend their services. You will not be disappointed with the results and the money you will save with them. Keep up the excellent work Chris & Jason.

The end result easily speaks for itself. My soffits located in both bathrooms and above each tub, which had been previously cold to the touch, are the same temperature as the rest of my ceiling. The morning after the job had completed was one of the first where I had stepped into my bathroom and it didn’t feel like an ice-box anymore. For an evening where the lows were already dipping into the low 30s this was great to see the work already paying off. In our house we keep the thermostat set to 70, and up to this point the first floor was 70, and the upstairs settled to 67-68F at night. The new normal is now 70-71 upstairs and 70 downstairs, with the furnace barely turning on overnight! Easily the best money I’ve spent on the house to date.

Exceeded expectations! Prompt response to the initial phone inquiry, everyone arrived on time, worked hard, kept us informed. We were given a thorough assessment which included photos, and were given choices of services that would help us save energy and be more comfortable. We were given information as the work was being done and a final report that also included photos. Work was very professional and included information regarding tax incentives.

It went well. A bit loud at times, but expected. They cleaned up after the job. Team was courteous and professional.

we have a new born baby at home so it was very important to us that this project is completed not only with high quality and quickly, but also while keeping things very clean in the master bedroom/bathroom. Chris' team did a great job. Being an engineer myself, I was very impressed with Chris' process and the system for showing me what needs to be done. His system was very detailed in showing how the estimate is calculated and how he arrives to pricing options. Since we have a small baby at home we minimized the scope of the first project but we have more work that needs to be done around the house and we definitely look forward to working with Chris and his team in the future.
