We cannot use the Big Deal because the windows are still under warranty. The Big Deal would void the warranty because the windows or home is less than 10 years old. I contacted Angie's List for a refund.

The window and door are not time tested, but no sign for concern. We got three quotes and the Window Universe cost was in-line with the other company that we considered. The third company's cost was very high and had a high pressure sales presentation (cost decreased as you listened, month later and they offer you a "limited time" sales goal deal!). Research of the different vendor manufacturers seemed that the products were comparable. Chad was not high pressure during the visit and provided good information. We would use again.

They were good, we didn't have any issues.

Everything went exactly as planned. They delivered and installed as promised with no surprises. The windows look great and have helped keep the house warm this winter.

We chose Window Universe and Chad Wilson came and explained all facets of the window including the limited window and labor warranty with transferability provisions. It was a great deal. Lily Richard gave us updates concerning the making of the windows and when they would be ready. Also, she sent e mail reminders as to when the crew would be arriving. The crew came on Saturday, January 10, 2015 and installed the windows. They arrived on time and were professional and courteous. I noticed after the job was done that a window spacer was uneven and a strip bowed on the same window. Window universe made a new top half of the window and Sam came and replaced it. He also replaced a screen that had a little hole in it. I was extremely pleased with the service and would recommend Window Universe. I might add that since the new windows have been in we have had no freezing moisture.

I would recommend Universal Windows to anyone. They took on a nightmare job that the builder messed up and did a horrible job. They not only fixed the window and replaced it they did a beautiful job. They moved furniture laid down sheets so they would not get the carpeting dirty when they were done the moved everything back and clean up after them self. The window looks beautiful I could not be more pleased with the Job that they did. They arrived at 8:15 in the morning and did not finish until 4:00 with no breaks. I can not say enough about this company. I would use them again in a second.

It went great! The windows are excellent. Last year we had a huge problem when the temperatures dipped below zero with ice forming on the windows but not our new windows. I can't really tell yet on how much our heating bill will go down but our humidifier is on a much lower setting because of the windows. The service was excellent. They had some challenges with high winds the week of installation but everything was still completed on time. They were flexible and did the inside work when the conditions outside were bad. Also, they did everything possible to keep the house warm while they were working. We couldn't be happier. Thanks!

They were honest, and they were up front with the cost. They didn't lie and didn't stretch it. We had another company that came out and gave us twice as much, and I didn't feel comfortable with the guy who came out. They were really good, they were responsive, they cleaned up really well afterwards, and they had to put the windows from the inside of the house, and they were really careful with their shoes, and not making any mess from the inside. They put furniture back that they had to remove to put the windows in. They were really good, you wouldn't know as far as the mess inside the house. The one thing that they did wrong, was that I had wanted them to put a different frame for the sliding door in the kitchen, and they said that it was a special order, and they apologized profusely about it. They said that they would put this one now, and then they would change it once the other one came, and I told them that we would stay with this one for now, and I don't even notice the difference from what we wanted. It has a narrow frame, and we wanted a narrow down the side, and deep down the bottom, but it looks fine. It saved us some money and the aggravation of them having to come back out. They were very responsive about any questions that we had, like about the color as we have different colors in different rooms, and they followed up. They cared about how I felt. The people who came out were really fun, and they chatted with me. I had surgery a few weeks before, and I couldn't move around, so if I wanted them to move anything they would move them. They worked for the price too.

It went very well and was very quick. The crew was quite good, and Sam Steinecker (the sales rep) was very accommodating. Will, one of the installers, was very good. They missed a few things, but it was very cold, and they came back to fix them. We do have a slight issue with the quality of their product, though.

They showed up on time,and got the window out replaced in a timely manner,as the day was pretty cold. As I inspected the window after they left, I saw that the vinyl track on the bottom of the window was split.I called the company up and told them the of the defect ,They sent a representative out the next day.Sam (the rep) looked at it and decided the best thing to was to change out the whole frame.A couple of weeks later they came and replaced the frame.I think they went over and above what I thought they would do,and for that I appreciate what they did.Good work guys

Overall the installation was good. They were fast, and the quality of windows they had to offer was great. We were able to order wood windows through them to match the style of window we were replacing, which few other vendors could offer. We are very happy with all of the windows and we're glad we had this replacement work done. However, we had issues with how they did the installation. We needed this replacement work done because the old windows and doors were both falling apart, and were covered in lead paint. They told us they were certified in safe lead removal, however they showed up to remove the lead contaminated door and windows without even a hepa vacuum and no plans to isolate their work area. We ended up providing the hepa vacuum and had to push the work crew to put up plastic to isolate the work areas. Throughout the install, we had to keep reminding the crew of how to safely handle lead. I would hire them again for replacing windows only if lead were not involved.

Window Universe was very clear and honest with their in-home assessment and estimate. Their prices were very competitive and they provided us weekly updates while the windows were being constructed. The installation went well and the new windows are working beautifully.

It was a perfect installation from our initial contact in September right through the installation in October. This was our fourth estimate and we had had enough of other company high pressure tactics, high prices or just no response at all. Window Universe was punctual, friendly and knowledgeable, they provided us with a lot of information and took time to explain all procedures that would take place. With all of our questions answered we were satisfaied and felt comfortable to go ahead. As promised they kept in touch weekly via email to let us know how things were progressing. One week prior to the installation they provided us with complete information as to the time they would arrive, all procedures for the day and what would be necessary for us to ensure it would be a successful installation all the way around. The installers were on time and went right to work, though it was an all day procedure they kept the work area clean as they moved along. When the men finished I can't begin to tell you how pleased we were, it was better than we had ever expected. Their workmanship, attention to detail and professionalism was superb, as though they were working on their own home and not just a job. Thank you Window Universe, we have already scheduled another project with them that they will be able to complete before the holidays. You won't go wrong with this company we HIGHLY recommend them. I took advantage of Universal Windows big deal. The salesman stopped by and we discussed my needs and the options available to me. A week later the installer came by to make the official measurements. The window was ordered. Three weeks later the installers came by and did an excellent job with the install. The lifetime warranty for these windows is pretty good. Even if we accidentally break this window, they will replace the glass for free. They are expensive but you know the old adage... you get what you pay for.

Chad came out to our house and gave us a no-nonsense estimate without wasting our time on unnecessary demonstrations. He provided us with helpful handouts, and wrote up our quote on the spot using the company's transparent pricing worksheet. Lily from the office got us scheduled and coordinated payment with our purchase of the deal on Angie's. Then Seth came out to install the windows within a few weeks, making sure to limit the impact of the install to our family. He strategically focused on installing the windows on the house first, then moving out to the barn to finish up. They were all installed in 1 day. Everyone from the company was professional from start to finish and they had the best price for the most energy efficient window in our price range, compared with at least 6 other quotes from other providers.

Adam and Scott were very professional and helpful. The job was completed in 2 days (we had a lot of windows). They totally cleaned up before they left, and we are extremely pleased with the new windows.
