I selected this company because of their rating here, and because of a trusted coworker's recommendation, and I have to say I'm very happy that I did. Their technician Frank was right there when he said he'd arrive, and he was extremely pleasant to deal with. He answered all my likely-ignorant questions, took the time to explain how my furnace worked, and good and bad points to my particular furnace (a VERY low-budget brand), and when my rambunctious dog decided to supervise the entire operation, Frank had several dog bones handy, which immediately made him my dog's best friend. Selecting a good contractor who specializes in the human touch is always one of those hit or miss propositions, but I think with Lakewood Furnace, I've definitely got a hit. The peace of mind I have by selecting this company is key to me, and I look forward to having a long relationship with them.

It went very well, they came the same day and did a nice job. It might have taken a little longer than normal because they were working around other jobs but I was so glad they were able to do it that day I really didn't care. They drained the old water heater, hauled it away, installed the new one. The job released sediment into the pipes which clogged up a couple of faucet filters in other parts of the house but they came back and cleaned them out at no additional charge. Total job was kind of expensive but there was no way we could do it ourselves, plus they installed a good water heater and they stand behind the product and their work, did a great job of cleaning up and hauling everything away so it was worth the expense.

All of the workers were very professional and polite.

Bryan arrived on time and got right to work. We have an old furnace and were concerned it was time to replace it since the pilot kept going out. When Bryan couldn't find the problem, he called someone who was more familiar with the older models. He was able to find the blocked regulator; the hole was smaller than a pin that was blocked. He worked at it to unblock it and was successful. He saved us from having to get a new regulator. It works great now!

Ductwork is gorgeous (replacing old white asbestos covered ones) and furnace, although it had a few issues at first (it was continuously blowing hot air, and got the house up to 97 degrees, they came out and rewired the next day). We are pleased with the look and the performance of the system. They were also cleaned and picked up after themselves.

Wonderful! Fixed the drainage problem on my furnace that another company ignored (told me I had to manually keep draining it). Called before arrival, arrived at scheduled time, and worked effectively and efficiently.

The process was very smooth from the phone call to request an estimate, to completion of the job. All employees of Lakewood Furnace were very professional. The job was completed on time. They cleaned up both days of this two day job leaving no work for the homeowner. This company is highly recommended.

The furnace was out at 5am Sunday. Checked Angie's List for two possible candidates. Called Lakewood Furnace at 6am. They called back at 6:30am stating they would be there in an hour. By 8:15am the guy was out the door and the furnace was running. Five days later the furnace was out again. Called Lakewood Furnace at 9:30am. They would send someone as soon as they could, was their reply. The fellow showed up about three hours later. He didn't have the exact part needed. He improved, adapting and installing the part he had. He was there approximately 20 minutes. There was no charge.

My A/C stopped working at the end of the summer 2005. So since we didn't use it too much I decided to wait until we really needed it to schedule a service call. The first half of the summer was bearable. But then we had a July heat wave and decided to bite the bullet and fix the a/c. I called to schedule an appointment with Lakewood Furnace and was expecting the standard we're slammed, we'll get there when we get there. To my surprise, they were willing to come out the next day. We had to go to a funeral that morning but I gave them my cell number and asked them to plan on coming over in the afternoon. The tech was very helpful in fitting us in around their other jobs. He came over and quickly deduced that the problem was a loose wire. Then, since there was a one-hour min service call. He cleaned out our outside A/C unit. After he left, the A/C wouldn't turn off. They were able to come back in a day to replace the contractor and didn't charge us another 1st hr service charge.

Everyone we dealt with, from Joe Miller who gave us the estimate to Brian and Matt who did the installation, was very professional, prompt and considerate. Everything was done on schedule and the heat was back on the same day, as promised. They went above and beyond what was expected, and we would highly recommend them.

They were a little bit late, but the serviceman called to let me know he was on the way. The work was completed in 30 minutes.

Overall he talked down to me. Really seemed to have no desire to bother working on this project and overall really got my blood pressure going.

Kent called to let me know that he was on his way. Per an earlier request, Jim Sancin made a point of putting me first on the list of appointments for the day, and Kent arrived right on time. He was friendly and diligent in his work. He was very polite, taking his shoes off every time that he entered the house, even though I had told him that he need not worry about it. Kent was very thorough in servicing the furnace and A/C. I was impressed, and will definitely be recommending Lakewood Furnace to others without hesitation.

The service man was punctual. Based on what I stated in the previous section, the prices quoted to me were NOT reasonable. I am disheartened as this is the second provider that was highly rated by Angie's' list that attempted to dupe me.

My experience itself was good overall. I was able to get the earliest appointment out of the eight companies I called on Angie's List. They arrived on time and gave me a call at work so I could leave to meet them, so I didn't have to wait around. I did feel however that 90 dollars was high for a call that lasted, at best, five minutes. I blame myself for not finding out the cost of a visit before hiring. I would not use them again, because I would go with someone less expensive next time.

To say that Lakewood Furnace does an excellant job and is easy to deal with just doesn't say enough. Brian installed my furnace and air and it is actually a work of art. The entire company has its act together from the office staff(Laura). Joe MIller vp. and all the workers that came to my home. They were prompt, quiet, exceptionaly clean, (Brian wiped my steps down and vacuumed)and very serious about pleasing the customer. I can't imagine having anyone else doing HVAC work for me. A honest, competent, and high quality company.

I was rather disappointed with the estimator. He only spent ten minutes in my home. He didn't take any measurements. He asked what I was looking for, and who else had been in to make estimates. When I told him the other companies, he just had bad things to say about all of them. One of them was another Carrier dealer. He asked what equipment they had quoted us. I gave them the model numbers; he wrote them down, and said he would have a quote out to us within a few days, but didn't think he could come anywhere near the ballpark figure of the other companies. He was right. Lakewood was over $2000 more than the other Carrier dealer.

I called the Lakewood Furnace Co. after I called about 20 other businesses to see if they could repair it. Lakewood was polite and told me they would look at it. They said the A/C was dropped because things were broken on the inside. They fixed it and did not charge me anything. I was surprised they did not charge me anything, and they were real polite and very nice people. Every time I called, they were nice. The service was excellent.

The service provider was actually a bit early -- which was a plus for me. He was very polite and sociable without being overly so. He did an excellent job and was in and out of the house in less than half an hour. The invoice gave a detailed description of the work.

Called the 24 hour line at 6:15 AM. Received a call at 8:00 AM that repairman was on his way. Bud arrived approx. 8:30 AM and was finished approx. 9:00 AM. He was prompt, explained the problem to me, and was very professional. I would highly recommend this company. I am going to call in April(as advised) to set up an air conditioning check. The price was very reasonable, and the company really came through on a very cold day.

They were very professional, doing excellent work, helpful with my questions and one last minute change.

We woke up last week on one of the few cold Cleveland nights, so far this winter, and the furnace was off. I called Lakewood Furnace as soon as they opened and they were at the house soon after. They replaced the thermocouple and inspected the furnace. They were in and out quickly, explained the issue and shared advise on what to do in the future. Would definitely use them again, and recommend them without hesitation.

Rapid response, excellent communication, fair prices. An excellent contractor.

I called Lakewood Furnace after an unpleasant experience the previous day with another HVAC company. The other HVAC company recommended replacing the furnace or purchasing $600 worth of replacement parts. I didn't feel confident about their ability to diagnose the problem, so I called Lakewood Furnace for a second opinion. Lakewood Furnace came out on a Saturday within a reasonable amount of time. Although the furnace appeared to be working when they arrived, the technician listened to me when I explained that it would stop working after reaching a certain temperature on the thermometer. He replaced a $120 part and was gone within an hour. I will begin to use this company in the future for all HVAC service.

I received a call early in the day that they were running a little behind. The appt. was for 3pm, and they said it would be closer to 6pm. He showed up at about 3:30. Mike did the service and kept the area very neat. He was very polite. I would call on them for anything to do with my furnace.
