Detroit Shoreway Renovation

It went wonderfully. Things that impressed me: Jennifer and John arrived to review the house for estimate when they said they'd be there. Work began when they said it would begin. We received a discount for agreeing to a start date that was convenient for the company, and helped get the job done earlier. Jennifer and John are personable, professionable, and knowledgeable. Very easy to work with. The crew was polite and friendly, and worked well, even when John wasn't there. They had no boom box to blast loud music as they worked. The crew cleaned up after themselves. They didn't leave cigarette butts on the ground as another company had done. Yeck. Work was started right on time every day, and even stayed late to complete the project. Job completed in four days. All in all, a great experience. Detroit Shoreway is definitely worth every cent we paid.

There was a situation where a contractor had reneged on me taking some of my money. Detroit Shoreway was really good. I though they could have done better with some of their prep work. The finished product is good, although they did miss some spots that I had to get them to come back to finish. The communication, and customer service were great. They were nice and kind people.

They did a good job. They replaced some of the boards and did a different procedure to help the paint go on smoothly where there has been problems in the past. They were very quick, polite, pleasant, neat and worked around my schedule. Were able to paint in high up places of my home. They provided their email address and cell phone number of supervisor which was a nice touch and made communication with them very easy. This is the third time that I have used them. A week after the project was completed he came back by to check on the work and decided that he wanted to add another coat to one side of the house. I was completely satisfied with the project in its current state and had not complaints. There was no charge and he just wanted to make sure it was perfect.

Steve and his team did a great job. The home looks great and the quality was second to none. They were punctual in responding to my initial request for an estimate, provided a very detailed proposal, addressed my follow-up questions, scheduled the work promptly and did a great job. After they were done they followed-up on a few touch-ups. Great job by the group from Detroit Shoreway. I will use them again and highly recommend them.

I would highly recommend Detroit Shoreway Renovation to any property owner, business owner, or landlord who is looking to have a their property painted by a true professional company. I cannot say enough great things about John and his crew. John is one of the owners of the company who oversees the painting crew and was on the job the entire time from start to finish. John called me the week prior to painting to verify we were all set for the date we had agreed upon to start painting and doing work for us. He said he would be at the house at 7:45 AM on Monday and he was there at 7:30 AM to get things going. From the first meeting he scheduled to do an on-site audit of what we wanted to do to the house he was nothing but professional and courteous. John is the best contractor we have ever used and had the fortune of encountering in all the years we have owned our rental properties. I am a big fan of communication and John was very conscientious to explain what his team was going to do and why they were going to take those actions. He did a recap each day of what they completed and what they were planning to do the next day. We thought the house was going to take a full week to prime and paint but it was completed in 3 full days and we could not be happier. John is a perfectionist of sorts and that only bodes well for his clients. He saw some things he did not like so he had the work redone and did not charge us for the correction. He also took it upon himself to touch up the front side of our detached garage as well as spot prime and paint a sun beaten side that looked like it was in need of work. He did all this without charging us because he wanted the garage to look comparable to the house. They also took down the old antenna on top of the house at no charge to us. I must say that at first we were very hesitant to spend this much money on our rental property but after we got a chance to see everything they had done we felt it was worth every dime and would use Detroit for any job we have for inside or outside paint work. With the two year warranty they offer we hope to get 8-9 years out of the job they did for us. I would always suggest getting a few quotes for large jobs like we did but you cannot go wrong with John and Detroit Shoreway Renovation.

This was a big job. We have a 1929 cedar sided colonial that required a lot of prep work consisting of sanding and some carpentry repairs. The end result is that the house looks like new. John, the owner and manger on the job, did an excellent job communicating with us throughout the job. His entire crew was friendly and professional. The crew kept the premises clean and did an excellent job cleaning up afterward. The estimate given was right on target. There were no surprises at the end of the project. I would highly recommend Detroit Shoreway Rennovation.

The estimator, Jennifer, arrived punctually and we discussed what was required. She provided a detailed estimate. The crew leader, John, called about a week before work was to begin and he and I went over what was to be done. He made a few really good suggestions and the next week, the crew arrived exactly on time. The work was done in an amazingly short time given what they had to do. It took them only two days. They left the work site with nary a paint chip in sight. I was extremely pleased with the work. The crew went to great lengths to protect surfaces and areas where they walked. I was impressed with the painter selected to paint the porch frame. He was steady as a rock and didn't even need tape to protect the screens. The painters were courteous, and quiet. All in all, this was a really pleasant experience. I am really happy with the result and would certainly use this contractor for other painting jobs. The contractor even left me with a couple of gallons of the two paint colors used for future touching up.

They did a lot of woodwork and the price was fair. I thought I would have had to pay more for that amount of work. They quality of work is good; they were on time and cleaned up after the job was completed. I was very pleased with their work, and would use them again if I needed that type of work done.

They worked with my schedule when they came out to do the estimate. They did a good job matching the pain color. They finished the whole thing in one day and the estimate was correct.

I think their price was very good. I couldn't have been happier with their professionalism overall, they did a wonderful job. They were very helpful in picking out the paint. They were the nicest people. They came quicker than they had anticipated. One of the columns had a couple of knots in the wood and you could still see it through the paint. John came back out and filled these knots in with caulk and repainted them at no additional charge to me. I would absolutely use them again.

We were very satisfied with them and recommended them to the neighbors.

They were very responsive. They showed up on time. They were very good at helping us find a color that we liked. They actually made a color mistake but caught the problem and got it fixed for.

We have been so impressed with this company from start to finish. Jennifer came out and gave us a quote which was very fair. She was very detailed and made us feel very comfortable right away. Before the work began, John (chief painter) and Eddie (the guy who did the painting for us) came and walked all around the house with us to make sure they knew everything that we wanted done. They even pointed out some things that they would do that we hadn't even thought of. Eddie did an incredible job and worked SO hard. He was professional and very detail oriented. He constantly walked me around the house to show me the progress and what he'd done. He put in very long hours and was able to finish the whole project in 3 days. We couldn't be more pleased and we highly recommend this company for any future painting needs. We will definitely use them again in the future!

Went very well. Jennifer Moore showed up as promised for the quoting phase. John Savage and his crew of 5-6 workers showed up promptly at 8 AM every day and worked steadily until 4 PM with a half hour break for lunch. At the end of each day, John reviewed what had been completed and what was planned for the following day. We had a 46 person wedding reception right in the middle of the job and they left their work gear and ladders neatly stored so that they were no hindrance to the festivities. All the workers were diligent and courteous.

Detroit Shoreway painted (and provided carpentry repair) to the exterior of our home last year. They were our first call when we were ready for some interior painting and once again they met our expectations for good work. They painted three rooms, ceilings, a stairwell and upstairs hallway, in addition to some other touch-up work. John and his crew are extremely knowledgeable and professional. John was helpful in thinking through parts of our project and coming up with solutions. We could totally trust them being in our home over several days and doing high-quality work, which they delivered. The communication flow was constant, letting us know what was going on every step of the way. They are a true pleasure to work with.

They were fabulous from start to finish. The lady that came to do the estimate was great - she was extremely thorough. The paper estimate we received was very detailed. She responded quickly to emails and questions I had. The crew boss came a couple days before the project was to begin to introduce himself and again answer any questions. When they came to do the work they showed up on time. They were here six days to do the work and were very professional the whole time. They were not the cheapest company we got an estimate from but we choose this company because they had a couple painters who were certified to work with lead based paint. This was very important to us as we have two young children. They kept the areas clean while painting and vacuumed up the paint chips from scraping every night. They were willing to do anything for us to improve the exterior of our home. They were up on all the new products and how to use them. They were always courteous and professional. The painters that were at our home were all professional painters who have been painting for long time. The crew boss helped us choose a color that we were pleased with. They provide a two year warranty with their work. I undoubtedly got my money's worth. The price listed includes materials and a small roof repair.

They were great. They were quick to respond and they took care of our stucco issues quickly with no additional charge above the original estimate. We were very happy with them.

Extremely competent people. Very responsive from quote to completion of the job. Quote was very detailed and followed to a "T." They made valuable recommendations and covered every detail including caulking joints between the Tudor trim boards and the stucco. They painted window mullions and even reglazed a window for us at no charge. Now, I just wish they did masonry work...

I thought they were excellent. The whole company did such a great job. The contact person, Jennifer, was very professional, prompt, and resolved any problems immediately. They did an A- job, they did have to come back to fix some things, but overall they did an excellent job!

They did a very good job. They were very helpful. I felt their prices were very reasonable. I would use them again.

Guest Bedroom Second floor: 1) Re-glue loose plastic tiles. 2) Install 8" baseboard. 3) Patch plaster, prime and paint bathroom. 4) Install safety bars in both showers. It was like a dream to be away on vacation and return to a "renewed" house. Loose ceiling plaster in three rooms repaired with plater dust cleaned up!

Install a strip of vinyl or aluminum to bottom left side of garage, to match bottom right side of garage (keep animals out). Double prime and apply a second boat of paint to garage. Remove brush from behind garage, bundle and remove to tree lawn. It was an overall pleasant experience with John and Jennifer Moore, the owners. John went above and beyond his agreed upon duties to help me choose colors for inside painting that is being done by another contractor. He also advised me to severely trim my oak tree as it was ruining my wooden gable in front of house. Immediate response to any calls I made with questions.

I think they did an excellent job. They were responsive and punctual. They were also available to paint a last minute request. The only problem I had was they told us about some rotten spots while they were painting, but not before.

WOW!!! Great job! Jennifer came out quickly to give the estimate, returning the estimate by snail mail and Email. The crew was prompt, thorough, and neat. Not to mention very polite. They also fixed my husbands weather station and radio antennas on the roof. John came out each day or called to make sure things were going Ok and if we had any questions. He also suggested a maintenance schedule. Eddie addressed our concerns about our pets getting onto the freshly painted stairs by using japan drier so we were able to let them out without worry. They even worked around the birds nests in the roof overhang that still had baby birds! They moved all of our porch furniture off the deck and porch, including one very stubborn market umbrella that wouldn't let go of its stand. They are coming back this Friday to check the work once more and clip the nails INSIDE the ATTIC!! House looks great!!They were neat to a fault, and detail oriented. They made a tedious job very pleasant!!

Fabulously --- No issues. John and his crew also repaired several rotted areas, always with a phone call to explain the reason(s) before any additional work was done. We knew there would be a few questionable areas, based on the prep work and how things cleaned-up. We appreciated John's honesty and feedback on whether something should be done immediately and/or if there were alternatives available.
