Fantastic service!! This garage door is our primary entrance to the house and the inability to open it caused some heartache with kids and a dog going in and out. So, getting it repaired quickly was important. I called and left a message Wednesday evening. My call was returned early Thursday morning and work was scheduled for Friday morning at 7:30, even though their normal hours start at 8:00 am. He arrived Friday morning at 7:20, the work was completed by 8:15 and he was very friendly, knowledgeable and efficient. I explained to him that I only use Angie's List contractors because of the service that they provide. Residential Door is a company that I would highly recommend and will call him when it's time to replace the garage door.

He tried to fix the door opener but it was not able to be fixed. He was very nice. I would recommend him to anyone.

Responded immediately to phone call, gave an estimate on the spot. Started job the next day. Cleaned up job site completely. Very professional and innovative in replacing door in older garage. Excellent overall. Have used him before and would recommend him for any garage door service.

He arrived on time, finished within an hour, charged what he quoted over the phone, was professional and kind.

Joe came out exactly as promised to find out why the door had stopped working. We had a brand new system, and nothing was blocking the rails, but it simply wouldn't go up all the way, or down all the way. Joe spent about 2 hours here fixing the problem - a short in the main drive panel. He then cleaned and oiled and tested the entire system and the door, and had me test it - it works perfectly. Then - he REFUSED PAYMENT!!! He wouldn't let me even pay him for his time or his gas or for anything! He said he felt the fault was with him for not double checking everything when he had installed it and he refused to let me pay him anything. I was so surprised and so impressed. I would recommend Joe to ANYONE. You don't find this kind of professionalism and honesty very much anymore.

Manually lifting a frozen door stuck it in its track in a partly open position. Residential was one of 3 contractors from Angie's List who was contacted. They were the first to respond and came out in bad weather the next day. They were able to go to the site while I was at work and communicate by phone. Due to the age of the door and equipment, the settling of the garage and floor, and the bad weather, a temporary solution was agreed on and done. I did not get a "hard sell" on any major repair I was not ready for. By the time I returned from work I was able to garage my car.

Joe is excellent and he is very personable as well. He came out on a Saturday morning and did not charge us for an estimate as most company s do. We thought that our home warranty would pay for it but they did not because they do not cover anything to do with the motor if it is over 12 years old and ours was 14. He did an excellent job and was very reasonable.

Joe is the man! He did an excellent job at a fair price. He came when he said he would and the quality of his work was outstanding. It was a real pleasure to hire him. Definitely would recommend him to anyone!

I was very pleased with the service I received. The garage door opener malfunctioned and I had to lift the door manually. I called Residential Door Co. and Joe was able to tell me over the phone what the problem was and how much it was going to cost to fix it. He came out the next day, arrived early and fixed the garage door in about 30 minutes (and his diagnosis was right on). He was prompt, courteous, very responsive and explained everything in detail before doing the work. He even showed me a few things to watch for in the future. Overall, my experience with this company was great. I will definitely use them again in the future and will recommend them to family and friends.

The contractor was very professional on the phone and in person. He arrived on time and performed the work well. We appreciated his attention to detail.

On a Saturday afternoon with my husband's car in the garage, one of the springs broke on the garage door. We were not able to lift the door manually which meant my husband's car was stranded. I called Joe on Saturday afternoon around 3 p.m. He called back within 10 minutes of my call and agreed to come out to repair the spring on Sunday even though he does not normally work on the weekends. He was at our home just when he said he would be and worked an hour to repair the springs and adjust both of our doors so that they worked much better (the adjustment was at no additional charge). He was very professional and courteous. I would recommend him very highly.

Joe returned my voice message within 20 minutes. He came out the next day. He was polite, friendly, and professional. He thoroughly inspected the garage door and opener. He said he was uncomfortable making any small repairs to the door because it was an older style spring that was unsafe. He said he could just install new springs but that any small repairs would just be delaying the inevitable. (The door is in very bad shape.) He quoted $675 to "furnish and install one 16/6'3 "Amarr Stratford Garage Door", white, torsion, 3 struts, 1 opener bracket, vinyl trim and $20 more for emergency disconnect since there is no door to our detached garage. He answered all my questions, gave helpful suggestions, thoroughly explained the details of the quote, and even pet our scary dog! He seemed very honest, trustworthy and never made me feel like I was taking too much time. He was awesome! At this point we've just gotten a quote but will definitely use him when we're ready to replace!

He was here exactly when he said he would be (a little early even). He even called to ask me if it was okay if he could come early. He was very friendly and I really liked him. Very reasonably priced, too.

Joe was wonderful to work with. He gave us several options including fixing our old door (at a very small cost, under $100). We decided to just replace the entire thing since it was very old and in bad shape and we really wanted to upgrade to an energy efficient door. Since we chose windows in our door, it had to be shipped from the manufacturer, which took a couple of weeks. As soon as it arrived Joe called to install it the very next day. He showed up right on time, worked through the day, attended to every detail, even helped me program the keypad. He gave us detailed instructions on how to operate and maintain all the systems, from giving it an oiling every couple of years to replacing light bulbs and batteries. Nicer still, everything was spotless when he left. We could not be happier with Joe. He is a true professional: honest, hardworking and detail-oriented. We would recommend him to anyone, and already have.

He did a great job. Reasonable price. On time and the job was done in one day. I would recommend him.

Joe called back promptly the day I left a message on his answering machine. He allowed me to explain my problem and then offered me a solution which included his patient explanation step-by-step of how he felt I might resolve my own problem and re-set my door openers all 3 of which had failed. I took his advice and now have 3 working door openers. All without the cost of a service charge.

I called Residential Door at 8:00 am on Monday, January 15, 2007. My one spring had broken on Sunday. Joe Chervenak gave me his price for replace the three springs which I thought was very reasonable. He gave me the option that he could be at my home in either an hour or at the end of the day. I was going out shortly so I asked him to put me down for the end of the day which he said would be between 5:30 pm and 6:00 pm. He was running a little late and called about 5:15 pm to let me know he was just leaving Bay Village and would still come out that evening to fix the springs. He arrived and proceeded to fix the springs. He informed me that the downward force on my door openers was to high and that he would adjust. He also noticed that the handles on the doors were loose and replaced them. Both of these additional services he did with no additional charge. Joe was very pleasant, professional, and charge a very reasonable price. I already recommended him to a co-worker.

Company was very quick to respond to our phone call and we were able to get same day service, which was great! Did an excellent job and have already recommended them to our neighbors.

Joe responded to our call promptly and arrived for the scheduled appointment promptly. He diagnosed the problem and suggested two options for correcting it. The lower cost option involved repairing the existing system, but because it was an older unit with only the most basic functionality, we decided to have Joe replace the opener with a new system. Not only did he do a very thorough installation job, he also adjusted the door alignment and made reinforcement repairs to the door track suspension system, which had been poorly installed at some point prior to our purchase of the home. Joe worked a full afternoon on the installation and repair and then made sure we understood how to use the new system and its various components. Our door now operates very smoothly and quietly. We are extremely pleased with the results.
