Joe has the winning combination: very fair prices, great work, pleasant to work with, and outstanding service. Thursday night, the old torsion spring failed. I meant to call all day Friday, but forgot until 4:45pm. I never expected to get service that same day, but Joe still offered!!! And if that didn't work for me, he offered to come Saturday afternoon!!! While talking on the phone, we realized that I had a non-standard garage door requiring special parts that he couldn't get until Monday. So, he proposed a time early Monday morning. He was on time, efficient to finish the job, and kept to his initial over-the-phone estimate EVEN after I told him that I understood the price could rise based on our discovery of my non-standard door & any special parts he might need. He even oiled other parts of the door, leaving it quieter than it has been in a while -- a very nice touch. Joe is a stand-up person who clearly deserves a spot on your short list.

They did a very nice job with the installation. They used good quality products. They were also honest and did the work at a reasonable price.

We couldn't be happier with the perfect operation of our doors now that the repairs are done. Joe showed up on time, gave an estimate that was on the mark and worked diligently until everything was completed. He attempts to make a good repair and not just sell a new install. He is the most courteous person to work with and is very knowledgeable. We believe him to be honest and appreciated his recommendations and going the extra mile.

They gave us an estimate which was 10% below the estimate we got from another company. Residential Door actually upgraded several things like hinges . They put on a heavier duty door hinge. They price on the new opener they installed was about 20% lower than the competition. Things have worked flawlessly. He made sure that several potential problems we had were solved and we couldn't be happier.

When we came home the prior night and put the car in the garage, we used the garage door opener, but when we hit the button to shut it, there were horrible noises, and the cables on each side of the door came undone. After searching Angie's list, I settled on Residential over other highly rated companies because it had no bad reviews. I was at work when I left a voice mail, and Joe returned my call promptly and gave me an estimate based on the info I gave him about the problem. Joe was able to make a house call that afternoon but we were not able to be home at the time. It wasn't a problem for Joe, who agreed to take a look at the door and would either repair it or call us back with an assessment. He gave us an idea what time he'd be done and that he'd either meet us after our workday, or he would leave a bill. Joe called us when he had fixed the door and told us he'd leave a bill for his work. The price was slightly less than quoted because the spring had not snapped. Since he did not replace the spring, he noted a future discount on our bill should anything happen to the spring in the next year. The garage door purrs when you open it, thanks to the lube job and adjustment. And the sticker with the company contact info placed on the inside of the garage door is a clever and appreciated touch! I would highly recommend Joe for your garage door needs. He's one of those "nice guys" you don't always hear about. Thanks Joe!

This guy was wonderful! we set up an appointment for the next day- he could've been there the same day but I wasn't available. my door was closing crooked-open 2" on one side and closed on the other side. he diagnosed the problem in minutes, gave me an estimate of cost and went to work. The price was so reasonable for the work done, and he didn't try to sell me a new door! he was here for about 45 minutes. Definetly call Joe before going to one of the big companies.

This was one of the best service experiences I have ever had. Joe called me back immediately, scheduled an appointment for a Saturday morning, came on time, gave a detailed estimate, did the work quickly and efficiently--in 10 degree weather--and charged far less than I had expected.

One man did everything, but it was quality work. He helped me pick out the design. He was thorough and the cost was reasonable.

Garage door opener failed to lift the garage door. Residential Door Service was called on Sunday afternoon and came out to fix the opener the next day (Monday).

The project went very well and our garage door is working better than ever.

The spring on our garage door broke on Thanksgiving day. I called the next day at 9:00 AM and Joe was here by 10:00 AM! The estimate he gave over the phone was exactly what he charged. Very nice professional guy - highly recommended.

Our overhead garage door would go only halfway up and then stop. We called Residential Door Service at 1:00 pm and the owner Joe was at our home to service the door at 4:00 pm the same day. After inspecting the situation he said that he could adjust the springs but in the process a spring might break causing the door to fall. He suggested and we agreed that the best remedy was to replace the 2 torsion springs on the door. The springs were replaced and adjusted by 6:15 pm that same day.

It was a great experience. He did a great job. He was very prompt in arriving. He was very upfront about the cost. He was thorough and was very neat in doing the job.

I called for service on Thursday and I was scheduled for Saturday. Joe arrived 10 minutes early and was done within an hour. Very polite and professional. We needed emergency key release installed, but after his service on the door, the door is quite again. I will recommend this company to others, including my neighbor with a noisy garage door.

Joe came the same day and stayed late (!). Joe tried to save me money by installing some old spare springs that had been in the garage from the previous owner. But those weren't the right springs and the door didn't lift right. So he replaced them with the right springs he had in his truck. He tried to save money any way he could, didn't try to "sell" me what I didn't need, like a new door. The old door works way better than it ever did. I watched him the whole time: super honest guy, very professional, polite.

My overall experience was wonderful. During my initial phone call with Joe, he told me he does not usually work with the type of opener that I have. Because this opener had a bad history with me, I was thinking about replacing it, even though it was fairly new. Joe told me that if I wanted to check about repair I could call the company that installed it and ask about the cost of the service call and the cost of the most expensive part of the opener. Checking on the most expensive part was a great tip. I would not have thought about the part and asking for the most expensive part would eliminate any surprises on my final bill. This amount would give me a basis for comparing replacement versus repair. After I talked to the company, I decided to replace the opener and called Joe. Price was not the only reason that I decided on this. The person I talked to on the phone did not seem to be as knowledgeable as Joe. When Joe came out, he could have taken the easy way and installed a new opener for $350.00. Instead, he fixed the problem and only charged me $58.00. Joe is not only competent but also honest. I will recommend him to my friends.

They came out and he did adjustments on my garage door, he also fixed some other problems I was having on my garage door. He was very reasonable and I loved the work he did.

I called Joe and he came that evening and quoted the job. After a few days I called him back and accepted his bid. He said it would be about 4 weeks for the doors to be delivered. When the doors arrived he called and scheduled a day for installation. He arrived with a helper at the arranged time. H and his helper worked professionally. They cleaned up after their self. The doors look great and work perfectly.

I had a good vibe from Joe (the owner) from the very first visit. He was punctual and professional. His price was competitive and most importantly he seemed to know exactly what he was doing--no film-flam either or silly hard sell tactics. I love the door he installed and the new opener. I also feel safer with the new opener since I have small children. I trust the guy and he's punctual.

I didn't get a chance to hire him, but I would have in a second if he serviced my location! VERY responsive and helpful!

It went well over all. They came to do the work on time. They were extremely friendly with me. He is in business with himself and he was dressed very well.

Responded immediately. Gave the best quote out of 3 competitors. His top of the line door/opener quote was cheaper than the others mid quality doors and openers. Installed garage door on my schedule. Very professional,knowledgeable,polite and clean. Left the garage floor looking better than before he arrived. Would hire again in a heartbeat.

Joe came out within 20 minutes of a Friday night call. Although the exact problem could not be duplicated he did installed a key release system which was not in place before and since the garage has no other access other than the door, this alone was worth the call. He tried to recreate the problem and tested the load capacity and did general maintenance on the system.
