Mr. Rooter Plumbing of Cleveland

Sent them 3 messages over one week here on Angie's list to set up some plumbing work. The vendor didn't respond at all. Very frustrating. Advice to all: don't contact them here on Angie's list; they seem to ignore messages here. I'm going with another plumber as a result.

Called and serviced on the same day. Work was performed quickly and quietly and the tech was really nice. Also sent out the restoration representative to provide a clean up proposal. Again, prompt service, personable rep. Both gentlemen gave me detailed easy to understand explanations of what was going to happen/needed to happen as well as any future considerations. Will definitely use them again.

Overall, i was very pleased. They provided a friendly repairman. He talked to us like regular people so we could understand what was going on. He was very knowledged. He fixed our problem that the last company screwed us on. They offered a warranty. They didn't even charge us a trip charge. I would use them again.

It was fine. It was satisfactory. I would give them all A in all the ratings. I would consider them again.

Came out right away. Very professional, got the job done. A little pricey but the last "deal" i got didn't really get the job done right, so if this works it will be worth it

We called Mr. Rooter and made an appointment for the next day. They came out as promised on time and diagnosed the problem. The problem area did not have access, so an access opening had to be made in the closet. The repair was made to correct a faulty vacuum breaker and a new access panel door was installed. All debris was cleaned and the leak is gone.

Our basement drains backed up water into the basement on Monday, April 7, 2014. I called Mr. Rooter and spoke to the receptionist who was very helpful and polite. Both times we dealt with the office staff, they were very courteous and helpful. The worker was scheduled for that day without an emergency charge. They called to tell me that the worker was running late and when he was on his way. The worker, Ian, came into our house. He did put on booties, I presume to protect our floors, but then he wore them outside in the rain and tracked in the dirt and water back in our house. He came into our basement, barely looked at the drain (the water was already cleaned up in the basement) and told us we could either snake the drain for about $275 with a 30 day warranty or use a jet stream of water to clear the drain for about $600 with a year warranty. As we had never had a drain problem in the 5 years we lived in the house, we decided to snake the drain. He brought in the machine to snake the drain and complained that he didn't like using it at all. He snaked the drain about 25 feet without encountering a blockage. The drain was draining at that point. We used the Angie's List coupon to knock the price down to $215. 5 days later, our drain backed up again late Saturday evening. We arranged for Mr. Rooter to come back out because of the warranty. We scheduled it for the next day as we had plans Saturday night. This time the worker snaked the drain all the way to the street. The drain was working correctly. He told us that the jet stream would likely have broken a pipe and that we should get our pipes underneath the house and in the yard replaced. To get an estimate from Mr. Rooter, it would cost us over $400. When I asked what the $400 would get us, the worker basically said they spray paint where the pipe is on the lawn. We declined to spend the $400, at which point we were told that Mr. Rooter wouldn't come back out if the drain backs up again. So much for the 30 day warranty. So glad I didn't spend the extra money on the jet stream service. The drain hasn't backed up in the 8 days since Mr. Rooter was out last. I think the first guy didn't really know what he was doing which is why the drain backed up again. I did feel like both workers were trying to upsell the entire time, and that we spent more than we should have for a drain to be snaked. Overall, I don't have confidence in Mr. Rooter and would not use them again.

The repairs went great. The plumber also did a free inspection of the rest of the sinks in the house. Also, got the Angie's List discount.

I called mr .rooter to set up an appointment.The job was set for 3/29/14 between 8-10 a.m.The day of the install came and after 10:00 a.m. nobody had arrived so I called Mr Rooter to find out the reason for the delay.I was told they were running behind schedule and they would be there as soon as possible but I felt I should not have been the one to make that phone call.They should have called me when they realized they would not be able to make it in the scheduled timeframe. The technician arrived at 11:30 apologized for being late and proceeded to unclog the drain.He was very polite and did a good job and cleaned up very well.The drain now flows freely. I just wish they would do a better job of informing customers when they are behind schedule.

I had a supposed appointment between 4 and 6 pm. I asked to be called before they arrived. I did all I could to make sure I was home between 4 and 6. I waited until 6pm with no phone call. When I called to find out where they were, I was told then, they were running behind and would be late. I asked how late and the woman advised she didn't know. I asked how late do they go and I was told 10pm. I advised her I would wait until 7 and then they could forget it if they could not make there by then. I received a call at 8:15pm (which was missed) then another at 8:45 pm advising they "just could not make it to my home". They asked if they could reschedule me for the next day. I told them never mind.

I called Mr. Rooter when another plumber could not fix our problem. They came out for a free estimate. When the plumber came out he was very professional and seemed honest. He fixed our issue. The next week he had to come out again for another issue. He did not charge us much since he was already out and gave us the Angie's List discount again. I am happy with the service

From what I remember, everything went well.

They were very good. They couldn/t reach any one at Home Depot to approve service since it was on a weekend. They did a great job

I checked the Angie's List book and got the name of Mr. Rooter. The serviceman came to my home and completed the installation in one day. He showed the work he had done and gave me information about it.

Mike came out and got right to work. He took a short time to break through some issues with dry pipes.

They were very professional and were able to get to the work right away. Before doing the work they explained what they were doing, gave me the prices of the work and I signed an agreement. They had to dig up landscaping that had just been put in a few months earlier and had their landscaper replant it, added and leveled topsoil and planted grass. They were exceptional.

On 12/13/13 we called them because the cold side was leaking at solder joint. Asked for a different guy to fix it. Didn't have confidence in work of first guy. The second guy did okay... no more leak.

I was very happy with him. I like him so much that I decided to put a sink in. Chris Gray was his name.

This was an emergency in the sense we needed it cleared sooner rather than later. Another plumber couldn't arrived for 10 days. Mr. Rooter Plumbing was available the same day we called. We used an Angie's List Deal so it was a great price and excellent prompt service. The drain was cleared quickly. The technician was polite and cleaned up after. If we have the unfortunate need to use this type of service again, we will definitely contact them again.

Work was done well and quickly - no more leaks.

I had a water heater that broke on a Saturday evening. I called this provider about 5:30PM on Saturday evening and was told that they were busy but that that they were scheduling someone to be at my house at 2 PM on Sunday. Having not heard from them by 3:30PM on Sunday, I called and was told that they were busy because of flooding and dealing with emergencies,(apparently my broken water heater and flooded basement wasn't enough of an emergency), but that they would place my name next on the list. I then received a call at 7:30PM and was told they needed to reschedule to Monday because they were still busy. I cancelled the service and had already contacted a contractor I had used previously for a referral to a plumber, but obviously at that point I could not get any help until Monday anyway. I was up all night moving things in my basement and unnecessarily missed a day of work due to this situation. I feel that the responses I was given by this company were deceptive and misleading. They surely should have some idea of their work flow in order to be able to regulate their schedule. If they would have simply been honest about not knowing when they could get to the job or acknowledged that they were unsure when they would be available then I could have explored other options.

It went well. They came out and did exactly what I asked them to do.

It was an Angie's List Big Deal that I purchased. It lasted a few days and then it clogged again. I was not happy with the results. He was sweet, professional and on time in every way but the results were not great. I didn't spend any additional money.

He is excellent. He didn’t do a single thing until he sat me down and told me what he needed to do, what it would cost and asked if I wanted it done then. What just one guy, Frank, came out. He was out here for about 2 hours. He did have to go get some supplies and was only gone for about 15 minutes.

I had issues again 3 weeks later with the same exact drain and they came back and snaked it for me free of charge. However, they assumed I did not pay when I paid with my Angie's list coupon; the customer service agent had not entered in the coupon we used to pay and they assumed we did not pay. That was very annoying because they were adamant that I did not pay. The technician was late several times and we had to reschedule about 3 times. The service though was affordable and good.
