When they come in well they were expensive, their very good though, very professional if I had the money I would only hire them. The sink was not functioning that well and I expected it to go and one day I turned on the water and I couldn't turn it off and I had to turn the water on in the whole house, turn it off in the whole house and so I called them and they were right there punctual and everything. the service provider was very polite, very professional, I really love that company, it's just that they a little expensive. I think their price is fair for the service they provide it's just that not everybody probably can't afford them but I think their price is fair. When you call them they come when they say they gonna come. If you can afford them hire them.
Description of Work: I used Mr. Rooter of Cleveland for plumbing service. They replaced the entire facet it was just one person and he replace the entire facet.

I called them this morning, and they gave me a window between 3-5 when they would come out. They didn't call me, and they didn't show up. I called them, and they said they would be here. I kept waiting, and when I called the last time, they said they would try to come on Monday and gave me another time window when they would show up. I said this was an emergency and I have no water and no gas, but they said they still could only give me another window of time, not a specific appointment.

The installer was unable to give me an estimate on his own. He had to call his supervisor who was never on-site and did not visit the work site. The installer never opened his rate book. He only gave me the estimate provided by his supervisor who never visited the work site. I agreed to pay for the reconnect service as my family and I had been without a working kitchen for one week due to a kitchen remodel. As it was already Friday afternoon and I knew I would not be able to get a reasonable plumber on the weekend, I went ahead and had the work done. Big mistake on my part. No plumber is worth $1045 per hour!!!!!!! Mr. Rooter is a ripoff. Do not use their services under any circumstances. Final note - I had used Mr. Rooter in past years for plumbing work and was satisfied. However, in this case they took advantage of seniors on a fixed income. So sad. Shame on you Mr. Rooter of Independence.

So the wife dumped a bucket of tofu down the garbage disposal on a Saturday evening which was the final straw that broke the camel's back so to speak. We called a competitor who came in Sunday and assessed the issue. The price was a bit high so my wife wanted a second opinion. We called Mr. Rooter on Monday morning who came out the same morning, assessed the issue, and came up with the same diagnosis as the competitor -- that the drain was plugged badly and/or broken and needed to be excavated as it was located inside the cement basement floor. Note that this drain was for the kitchen sink, dish washer, basement utility sink, and clothes washer. The technician, Chris Balogh gave us a price that was $300 less than the competition. We said 'OK' and he immediately went to work. He found that a p-trap had been installed under the cement floor and it was badly plugged and corroded. Chris replaced all the metal pipe runs under the kitchen floor with PVC pipe and used straight pipe where the p-trap was previously. Besides, all the appliances mentioned previously already had separate p-traps. Chris was there for around 6 hours. Before he left, he cemented the hole, cleaned up the work area, and instructed us on what he did, how soon we could start using the appliances, and also how soon we could move the clothes washer back into place over the newly cemented hole. With that said, we're very happy with Mr. Rooter's responsiveness, professionalism, and of course price compared to their competition. Will definitely call Mr. Rooter in the future if necessary.

I purchased a garbage unit from Home Depot, and prepaid for installation. Mr. Rooter called me that evening to schedule an appointment for installation. The day of the appointment the service tech Nick showed up promptly. He was very professional. The install took about an hour. Once completed. Nick went over the instructions with me. He also cleaned up very well.

Called Mr Rooter of Cleveland to quote snaking out the drain pipe from the front of the house out to the street. (aprox 40 feet) A man showed up and knocked on the door. I showed him the drain in the front and he actually used his cell phone light to look into the drain. No flashlight?! He says "Yup it's clogged". I ask how much and he says "$891.47". He offered no explanation such as number of billable hours x hourly rate etc. Just "EIGHT HUNDRED NINETY ONE DOLLARS AND FORTY SEVEN CENTS"! Which I just know that he pulled right out of you know where. I said "Wow! Thank you for stopping by". Then he tried to negotiate a different price, saying "Well I guess I could do it for around $600". I still said too much. Then he lowers it down to around $300.00. What a scam! I felt like I was in the sales office at some sleazy used car lot haggling over the price of a car! VERY UNPROFESSIONAL! What an insult to my intelligence! Obviously this guy just throws a price out there that is different for every customer for the exact same service. Whatever he thinks that person is willing to pay - that is the price he quotes. I can rent a professional 3/4 inch self feeding auto snake from Lowes for less than $80 and do it myself in under an hour.

They were very helpful! I had tried calling a plumber that I had a card for a few times in the previous week and always had to leave voicemail messages with no response. I called Mr. Rooter and was able to speak to someone right away who dispatched one of their plumbers to come out immediately. Chris who came to our house was very nice and informative. He took care of it quickly. Overall I had a great experience with them. It was so nice to be able to reach someone on the phone immediately and get it taken care of the same day! I also like that they have a coupon available to Angie's List Members!

The first time I checked on the plumber her was sitting on the steps and the pump was barley running. The pump that he used was very small. It looked like one you could go to the hardware store to buy. It took him 3 or 4 hrs to pump out the basement. He said that he snaked the piping out about 800ft but I was told by my son that there was no piping there to be snaked. I really felt I was taken advantage of

I had a kitchen sink with a clogged drain. More precisely, I had a clog in the drainpipe somewhere beyond the p-trap under the sink, which I had removed and found to be clear. I tried a plumbing snake, but about 10 feet in it just stopped, in the straight part of the pipe. When I found the pipe in the basement and tapped on it, the whole thing sounded clogged, which didn't make sense. Having run out of options, I called Mr. Rooter at about 4:00 pm; they arrived by 5:30. The plumber, Mike, was great-- a wealth of information. I told him what I had done, and he asked if I found any whitish gunk on the snake when I pulled it out-- which I had. "Hardened grease" was his immediate diagnosis, which proved to be correct. Years of pouring grease down the drain, which eventually hardens and accumulates-- can clog the whole pipe; in my case it clogged at least a good ten feet of it. Bad news? The only way to fix it (which I have since confirmed with other plumbers) is with a pressure hose contraption that requires its own special truck. Worse, it would cost $590.00. I was shocked by the price, and told Mike that I could replace the pipe for that much. He actually agreed, and showed me how I could improve the angle of the pipe when replacing it. But in assessing the problem I could see that replacement would have been a real pain because the pipe was under AC ducts, near a gas line, etc.-- and I didn't have the time (or the inclination) to do it. So I opted for the $590 pressure truck-- which worked like a charm, and I was able to see a bucket of grease/gunk that had come out of the pipe. Mike did a great job and thoroughly explained everything. The lesson here? No grease in the drain!! Let it harden and throw it in the trash. And run lots of hot water down the pipes before and after running a garbage disposal.

The work that they did was really good. What they charged was ridiculous. They wouldn't give us any kind of discount for the fact that my husband had already dug the hole for them. There was a difference between what we were quoted and what we actually ended up charged, separated by about $500. It was quite surprising. We used them in the past before and they are pricey. We're definitely looking for something better and less expensive.
Description of Work: We had a tub that was backing up and plugged and my husband dug up the yard to find the pipe. They then came out and dug a little bit more and found a broken pipe.

The Mr. Rooter representative proceeded to snake the drain from the exterior clean out toward the house. The Mr. Rooter representative broke through a minor clogged area and the sewage which then proceeded to flow past the cleanout and then completely stopped flowing. Then, he attempted to snake the drain from the clean out to the street and was unable to clear the drain. He realized that he should have snaked from the clean out to the road first before snaking from the clean out to the house. He repeatedly tried to get the snake to clear the blockage with no success, after several attempts there appeared evidence of mud on the end of the snake. He attempted to snake the drain from inside the house but was unable to reach the clogged area because he only had a 100 foot snake and the clogged area was beyond that distance. Not equipped with a longer snake, he attempted to hydro blast the drain from inside the house and the result was sewage back up through the floor drain. What should have been a routine procedure taking approximately one to two hours resulted in a costly, unsanitary, and inconvenient mess that lasted for several days. That evening, the house smelled of raw sewage and the floors were covered in sewage residue. I was told that the Mr. Rooter has a cleaning service available 24/7 for on-call emergency clean up service but they could not get here to clean up the mess until tomorrow morning around 9AM. I asked if he would contact his manager to resolve the clogged drain issue and clean up the mess tonight. He told me that his boss/manager was unavailable to address the situation tonight but in the morning, he told me and the other representative present with him, that his boss/manager out at a bar for the evening. The Mr. Rooter representative used a shop vacuum to clean up the standing sewage on the basement floor and dumped the sewage in the street. Mr. Rooter left the house that evening with wet, damp, stinky floors. In order to minimize the odor, I began to clean up the floor mess with bleach and disinfectant to minimize the smell until they could clean up in the morning. On Sunday, March 1, 2015, the same Mr. Rooter representative came back the next day with his manager; the manager determined that there was something wrong with the clean out tee and proceeded to tell me that he could repair the problem for $3,750.00. On Monday, March 2, 2015, I contacted several sewer excavating companies to evaluate the problem. Upon excavating the clean out area, there was no break or damage at the tee but a blockage a few feet from the cleanout/tee area. Had the Mr. Rooter representative correctly proceeded to check the drain from the clean out to the street and if he was unable to successfully snake to that area, the use of a camera could have then been used to determine the cause and avoided the unnecessary excavation costs and the days without use of allowing any water down the drain. In summary, the Mr. Rooter representative was unprepared with the lack of necessary equipment to solve the problem, appeared programmed to sell their company?s added services of hydro-blasting and usage of a camera, incorrectly snaked the drain resulting in a worse problem then a slow drain, and created an unhealthy and unsanitary mess by attempting to snake from the house to the street. The response or lack of immediate resolution from the Mr. Rooter Manager was very unprofessional. The Manager showed no concerned with the problem or situation because he failed to immediately remediate the problem that night, why?, because he was unavailable (i.e., busy drinking at a bar). He further made an inaccurate evaluation and stated that the drain tee was broken and his solution was to charge me $3,750.00 to fix it. He failed to apologize for creating a bigger and more costly problem. I had to pay for Mr. Rooter's mistakes. I would not recommend using Mr. Rooter for any services. Currently, the basement clean out fitting leaks a small amount of sewage water every time the toilet is flushed because the fitting was incorrectly installed by Mr. Rooter.
Description of Work: On Saturday, February 28, 2015, at approximately 2PM, I, Tim Shirilla the homeowner, contracted with Mr. Rooter to snake a slow/blocked sewer drain at a cost of $270.00. The result was that they made the problem worse and then the cost was going to be $800.00, created a unsanitary mess with backed up sewage in the basement and did not want to immediately correct the problem that evening but wait until the next day. The next day Mr. Rooter made an assumption that the Cleanout Tee was damaged/broken and wanted me to pay them $3,750.00 for them to fix the problem.

They really scare me. They were terrible. They told me all kinds of things were wrong in my plumbing from the house to the street. They also told me that it would probably last me for two days unless I spend nine thousand dollars. I got my iPod out and I showed them how much this cost all over the country like the national average is like thirty-six hundred to do the job they quoted me and they said it's a special environmental loss in Cleveland. They charged me 650 dollars to clean it and I haven't had a problem since. This thing that supposed to last me for two days lasted so I'm going on for like four months.

I told him I don't have that much money in my house and that I just had surgery and got home on Sunday and found the pipes totally frozen. He didn't care that I wasn't well enough and that I don't drive. I told him I have an appointment to get picked up to go to the bank in two days, and he said he wouldn't be able to help me without having the money. I told him I had some money, but then I wouldn't be able to pay my household bills on time. I told him then I would give him the money and I would pay the late charges for my other bills, and he called his dispatch manager and made it sound like I was lying about not having the money initially. Then after all of this debate about the money, he said the water is in the pipe and it could burst when he puts the heat through, which would cost more money to then have it repaired. I asked why he didn't tell me that before, and he said it was common sense and then kept insulting me. The dispatch manager called back and I was told the regular manager wasn't available. He was very disrespectful, wasted my time, and scared me about my pipes bursting.
Description of Work: He came out and he said it would cost me $660.00 to unfreeze the pipes.

They did a really good job and did it very fast. It was at the time when everything around here was flooding so given that, they were very responsive. It was a fine experience. When I explained the situation to them that I had just got out of the hospital and had a lung problem, they came out right away so that I wouldn’t have mold and mildew. I don’t remember what I paid and I don’t know what the average cost would be. I couldn’t go downstairs at the time, so my grandson that was visiting me handled most of it.

The guy came to our rental house and tried to snake the bathroom sink. He was unsuccessful getting the drain unclogged. My husband and the plumber went to the basement to look at the pipes. He then proceeded to tell my husband that all the pipes needed to be replaced from the bathroom sink to the stack. My husband was surprised then to hear that they would charge us $1200.00... His unwillingness to try and snake the drain other position in the pipe system was unacceptable. My husband called me while I was at work and we decided we needed to call for a second option. After being charged $125.00 and paying him $100.00 ($25.00 off coupon) We called another company from Angies List, and the very next day a team of two guys came and snaked the drain in fifteen minute - a success.. We called Mr Rooter to speak with the manager, left a message and did not hear back. We will NEVER use them again...

From the time I called until the time the job was finished was just over an hour, which was amazing. I did get lucky with timing, but same day appointments are always available. With my Angie's List coupon I feel I got a very good price. I used to have a home warranty with which all service calls started with a $100 fee, so this service was competitively priced in my opinion. I am glad I didn't waste any more of my own time fiddling with this and instead called a pro. I would use this company again in the future.
