Worst experience ever! To start, the installers left my property a mess, broke a lawn chair, never told us, stained our brand new poured concrete with what was in the gutter, didn't clean up, next their receptionist EDITH VEGA called the next day, not once, but four times to yell at us for not paying or paying with a credit card, which was never the discussion, we paid the installers when the job was completed, yet she didn't believe us and continued to call us asking to come over to pick up a check, RUDE, RUDE, RUDE, third, their salesman is completely rude to our neighbors who inquired to have gutters installed telling them that if they could not make a decision to get them at triple the price we were paying (for a much smaller house) that he didn't want to offer them to him, very insulting, I would never had used this company had I know how they treat others or their customers, they ruined my property, and don't try to call them, they don't return phone calls, I have called three times for a manager and corporate and not one return phone call to me. WORST COMPANY EVER!! DO NOT USE Amendment: Leaf Filters was very responsive to my review, they contacted me and made it right by paying to have my new poured concrete patio power washed back to its original condition, I appreciate their response to my requests and they made me happy, I would highly recommend the gutters they have been a noticeable improvement in our home and look wonderful. If i could pick 0 stars i would. This is the worst company I have EVER dealt with. We had gutter protection installed November 2019. Guys came late in the day (2 pm). Were told they would be early....so my wife waited!! I was out of town and they took full advantage as I would have sent them packing. Then fewer men came than promised by sales guy (Daniel). They left debris ALL OVER OUR property and damaged the roof to boot. These guys have made a lot of money off of us and they don't really give a ****. Still waiting for them to fix our roof and final paperwork which we NEVER signed off on, but were charged anyway of course. Again, this company is a complete RIP OFF!

It did not go as smoothly as I anticipated. I was supposed to get a phone call when the installer(s) arrived to begin the installation, at least that was the plan, according to the salesman. The installer arrived to start the work on a Monday and completed the work on the first and second floor of my home. I was never advised that the installer performed the work. I finally received a phone call late in the afternoon from an employee who stated that they couldn't find one of the ladders they had left behind. The third floor of the house could not be done because a longer ladder was needed. A couple days later another employee arrived to finish the gutter covers on the 3rd floor. I was called this time. The house was completed. However, about 3 weeks later, I decided to check the back of my garage to see if the gutter cover had been put in place, and there was no gutter cover. I was disgusted. I called the company and they sent out their employee who stated that when he came out the first time he did not notice on the contract that the gutter cover also had to be installed on the back of my garage.

Beware, the sales staff is extremely aggressive. So is the staff scheduling the work. The workers, all Mexican immigrants, did a wonderful job even if it was close to freezing and the gutters were still full of ice. The office staff did not return my phone calls and messages. I am glad we had this installed but I caution others. it is a very expensive system.

I should’ve called off the free quote when the person on the phone asked me when my spouse would be available to be present at the quote as well.... That highly offended me, as I am a 49 y.o. divorced woman and I’m quite certain I do not need a “spouse” to help me make decisions. True even if I were still married. Then I expected someone to just come out, measure the gutters and give me a quote, not take up 1.5 hours of my Saturday with a high pressure, sign right now for the best deal, sales pitch. The price started out at $14,000 (yikes!) and somehow, after many calls to his manager, went to $6100. I felt like I was buying a car. And, is this still the best they can do? Something just feels wrong about this whole approach. Then he is also telling me how busy they are at this time of the year, the crew doing almost two installs a day, but he can get me in in the next 5days, but I need to sign before he leaves. I signed just to get him to leave! I will be submitting a written letter to the company canceling this transaction well within my 3 business days. And you can not just call and cancel, it must be in writing, postmarked by the third day of signing the contract, or they can still make you pay 25% of the quoted cost! Funny how he wanted to sell me on everything else, but didn’t go over this part of the contract.

Very dissatisfied customer. My wife and I (elderly couple) needed a better gutter guard protection system. I could no longer get on a ladder to maintain the system we had so I checked out Leaf Filter Gutter Protection and set up to have some come out. Of course they could get someone out right away. Salesman came out pronto, I explained things and since I told him I could no longer get on ladder to maintain the current system told me everything I wanted to hear - no ladders needed - no hiring someone to clean gutters - my wife was excited - I was excited because I would no longer and she would no longer need to worry about the gutters - all our problems solved and no more up on roof or tall ladders. All was fine - paid for installation - installation completed and then it rained. Water leaked on all three corners, overflowed in two valleys had more problems than the previous system. I was upset but contacted the company and they set up an appointment for a service appointment – no problem – just inconvenient twice and were prompt both times. The service rep was very pleasant individual, climbed up the ladder at lowest area said right off the bat quite a bit of debris I need to clean this out real good – he remove filter and worked on the corner. My heart just sank – he said you know there is some maintenance – I said no – he said you have to take a small brush and wipe away debris every so often – that was not what I was wanting to hear – I bought the system so I would never have to climb on roof or ladders - I already had a system that I could get someone to come out once or maybe twice a year to maintain the system. I guess the this old fool should have known everything was to good to be true. So now I have new system that still leaks in three corners, three corners that overflow when it rains a little hard, and have to hire someone to maintain system plus being out $3800 retirement money. What they advertise is they have never allowed a gutter to clog - which would be true because nothing can get in gutter but they don't advertise that the guard that protects gutter gets clogged and water flows over the top of gutter. They also advertise like you never have to get on ladder plus salesman said no more climbing ladder but when the service tech came out the first thing he told me was that the guard was plugged and you need to brush the guard off every so often and this was only a few weeks later. I'm trying to get the word out so others don't get fooled like I did. If your trying to stay off ladders forget this product. I'm now looking at new gutters plus guard for less than half the cost of LeafFilters. You be the judge!

We needed to have out gutters cleaned, one was missing and end cap and a downspout fell off the garage. After visiting Angie'sList LeafFilter called me to schedule a quote. On the day of the appointment, however, I looked up online and saw that their product is out of my price range, google showed prices between $1000 - $2000. So, before the appointment I called to cancel. The man on the phone said that the high prices I saw online were put there by LeafFilter's competitors to scare off customers, so I decided to go ahead and give them a chance. The salesman arrived, and took measurements for a while before coming inside to speak with me. When he came in he went into a lengthy presentation with a flip folder talking about how the company has grown, how big it is, etc, he showed me competitors product and then showed me their product and did a demonstration showing how water bubbles up on the steel mesh. I appreciate the time he took to do all that. I kindly stopped him and asked for the estimate. He quoted over $6000 to service 207' of gutter. I thanked him for his time and sent him on his way. Perhaps it may be a good product for some but it is beyond the scope and price range of what we were asking for. I feel badly that man did not make a sale but I was not the one to be paying that much for a gutter cleaning.

This is a “BUYER BEWARE” Review. I requested three quotes for “Gutter Cleaning” on Angie’s List. The three requests did not include Leaf Filter Gutter Protection. A representative of Gutter protection called almost immediately after I posted the request for quotes and we made an appointment for an estimate at 1:00 on Wednesday. The gentleman who showed up was not an estimator but rather a salesman for gutter guard installation. Leaf Filter has no interest in gutter cleaning – they are using the gutter cleaning category as a lead producer for their gutter guard. To his credit, the salesman was on time, was courteous, and did measure the linear feet of gutter accurately. He then proceeded to pitch the Leaf Filter product which is priced at the high end of the various products available. He offered three prices – a 12 month plan for $4,955, a 90 day plan for $4,655, and a “Flex Plan” (which allows Leaf Filter to set the installation schedule – but which is really a pitch to get the homeowner to agree to the deal immediately – the deal must be agreed to on the day of the salesman’s visit) for $3,555. I told the gentleman that I was skeptical of claims by gutter guard manufacturers that no debris would ever get into the gutters and that there would be no overflow of water and debris in the event of a very hard rain. He assured me that the Leaf Filter product was guaranteed for life of the owner and one successor owner to resolve both of those issues. He also assured me that the installation crew would include an “Engineer” to make sure that the pitch and drop of the gutters was correct for maximum effectiveness. I asked the salesman about local references – he replied that I could Google and find “hundreds of references” but he did not offer any references locally. I told the salesman that I would discuss the proposal with my spouse. He asked if he could call later in the day to learn of our decision and we agreed that he would call at approximately 8:30 on Wednesday evening. After he departed, I searched the internet including Angie’s List and several Consumer Reporting Services for information about the Company and buyer ratings. I found that although Angie’s List gave the Company an “A” rating, more that a third of all ratings were less than “A” and that 17 ratings (12%) were “F” or “D”. The consumer reports sites led me to conclude that there were several issues with Leaf Filter Gutter Protection as follows: 1. Questionable sales tactics – presenting themselves as a “gutter cleaning” company, pressure to sign immediately, overstating the performance and guarantees of their product and the performance and qualifications of their installers. 2. Responsiveness in installation and follow up issues – especially cleanup and post-installation issues. 3. The cost of their product versus value. On completion of my follow-up research, I called the salesman to inform him that we were not happy with our findings and would not be doing business with Leaf Filters Gutter Protection.

Installation was in October. Installer was rude, and they were in a hurry. We realized in the spring that there was an overflowing buildup of maple tree debris in some of the gutters. Al, the man who came, checked and found multiple problems with the installation (not attached properly and at the wrong angle). He cleaned out the backed up gutters and said they would send someone out to correct the problems, but as far as we know, no one has come. Within a few days, the gutter was backed up again. The price of the product was supposed to include clean-up, but ever since it was installed we have kept finding many long attachment nails that were removed from the original gutter installation and dropped in our yard and flower beds. Even if they send someone to clean our gutters by hand every time they get full, that is not what our warranty is supposed to be about. This product is not performing as promised. We'd be interested in a follow-up review a year later by people who gave it a good rating right after installation, to see how the system is performing. It was windy the day that Al cleaned out our gutters and the next. I took this photo the day after that.

Along with the estimate, the salesperson filled out an application for bank financing, quoting an interest rate a fraction of the rate actually listed on the application. I refused to sign the application. I also decided against having this company do the work. A week later, I received a credit card with a limit of more than $10,000. I called Leaffilter's regional director, who told me the salesperson was no longer employed because he was "unproductive." I insisted he contact the bank on my behalf. Although he later claimed to have withdrawn the fraudulent application made through his company, he did not. Not only did I have to open a fraud investigation with the bank, but I also had to contact each credit reporting agency to make its own investigation, to correct the effects on my credit score.

They don't actually clean gutters. They sell gutter guards. They are listed as gutter cleaners. They called me telling me they clean gutters and then install gutter guards. I told them I only wanted the gutters cleaned. They don't do that. The salesman then got aggressive and angry and I had to hang up on him when he wouldn't take my polite refusal. Don't list yourself under gutter cleaning if you don't offer that service.

I'm a woman who called this company for a quote. On the phone I was asked to set an appointment time for a quote. I gave a date option, I was asked if my husband was available at that time. What? When I asked why that question was asked, I was told "we like to have both the husband and wife there at the same time to make a decision." The implication that I could not make a decision on my own (which, by the way, is one of my "money manager" roles in our relationship) was the ultimate insult. And what if I was single ... would they even come out for a quote? My response to the question was "you just blew this deal." I will NOT deal with a company that doesn't respect my ability to make a simple decision!

They were very willing to quickly send someone out to get a quote. Unfortunately it took the sales man 2 hours of my time to measure and give me the sales pitch. I believe the product is probably the “Cadillac” of gutter guards but not necessary for my home ( no pine needles etc). He first quoted me a price that was 2x the price he finally left with. He was pressuring me to make a decision right away which I did not feel comfortable with. His pressure and the large difference in the starting price and they final price they offered was so far away from each other I did not feel I could have trusted all they had told me about the quality of their gutters. Later I talked with a neighbor who professionally installed gutters and he was surprised at the final quoted cost and recommended a gutter that would be a good economic fit for my home. The next professionals I got a quote from “Cincinnati Gutter&Roof Protection” gave me a quote for the same product my neighbor suggested and 1/2 the price of the final quote from GutterFilter. If you have pine needles or a lot of grit from your roof consider GutterFilter otherwise don’t take their offer first!

We had Leaf Filter installed at the end of September along with our neighbors. The installment went fine however a couple weeks after the installment the rain came, and we noticed in the front of our townhouse there was an overflow of water coming from the gutter where Leaf Filter was installed. Let me state for the record before Leaf Filter was installed we have absolutely zero issues with our gutters. On 10/11, we called Leaf Filter to schedule an appointment on 10/22 to have someone to come out and fix the issue. On 10/22 someone from Leaf Filter called and said that the person assigned to the appointment call in sick and that we had to schedule so we rescheduled to 10/29. On 10/29, a Leaf Filter person showed up but could not get on the roof to look at the issue because of the height of our house he needed 1 person to hold the ladder and another to climb up the 40-foot ladder due to safety laws. I was supposed to get a call back a day or 2 later to let me know when they could come back out and complete silence. I called on Thursday 11/1 and spoke with Rob from the Fife office and he said that someone would come out Monday 11/5 in the morning to fix the issue, a no show in the morning. I called in the afternoon to their Fife office and spoke with Rob again and he said his guys were finishing up a job and that they would be out at 5pm. Received a call at 4:52pm from one of the installers apologizing that they could not come out because it was getting too dark, which is understandable and that I would get a call back from Rob to schedule the reschedule. I called the Fife office towards the end of the day next day and spoke with Rob and he was not aware that the guys did not come out the previous day. I asked yet again to get an appointment scheduled ASAP, he said he would call me the next day to reschedule another appointment, no call back. On 11/8, I called their corporate office and filed a complaint with the regional manager Dave and I got a call back that they would be out on Monday 11/12 in the morning. I received another call on 11/9 saying that the installers are taking a day off because they are Veterans, which is completely understandable. The installers finally come out on 11/19 to look at the problem and said that the gutters were not pushed back from when they initially installed the gutters and that pushing the gutters back would solve the problem. On 11/21, it started down pouring and now there is a new issue the water overflow has moved to the back of the gutter, so none of the water is catching and going down the spout, like how it should, which is causing all the water to go down the sliding of the house and spill into our covered entry way. I would like to state again WE NEVER HAD AN ISSUE BEFORE LEAF FILTER WAS INSTALLED. I called Rob at the Fife office on 11/21 and he said that since it was Thanksgiving the next day, he would call me back Monday 11/26 to get an appointment rescheduled, no call back. On Tuesday 11/27 I called the regional manager David, the Fife office to Rob and left messages to call me back and also called the 1-800 # to talk to a manager but that section of the business just ended of the day, but the person who I spoke with sent an email to the manager of the service request department, but still no call back from Rob or Dave the regional manager or the service request department manager. I would also like to note that 95% of the time you call the Fife office you get a voicemail box that is full and cannot leave a message. Besides the issue that we are having with the front gutter, there is a new issue with the gutter in the back of the house where Leaf Filter was installed. For this issue I called the 1-800 # and spoke with someone on Friday 11/23 and she filed a service request and said that someone would most likely call me back for this issue on Monday 11/26, again no call back to get an appointment scheduled. On 12/3 Leaf Filter came out and “fixed” the front and back gutters. However, when it rained on 12/9 the issue in the front of the house still exists. The water is going down the sliding of the house and spilling into our covered entry way and is causing a consist drip that we can hear inside the house and every time we leave the house we constantly get dripped on by the water that is coming down the siding. Who knows if this issue is causing damage to the siding, foundation of our house, roof or gutters. I messaged Rob on 12/10 with the video of the issue and he said that he sent the information out to his corporate office to figure out our options. He mentioned that one option is to replace the existing gutter with a larger gutter, I wanted to know if that doesn’t work, what are the next steps. Do we get a 100% full refund if this doesn’t work? He also mentioned that it’s hard to get someone do put new gutters on a house with a 40 ft ladder, which was very off putting to hear. It would have been nice if someone like the sales person or if a disclaimer was put on Leaf Filters website that clearly warns a potential customer that if you have only 6ft or less of gutters, do not purchase our product and if you do you are basically out of luck when it comes to servicing your issues. On Wednesday 12/12 Rob texted me back saying that his corporate office is still trying to determine the options. On Tuesday 12/18 I texted Rob at 10am and he said he is still waiting for a response from his corporate office on options to either get this fixed or get a 100% refund back. He stated he has not heard back from his corporate office and that he was going to reach out to this regional manager to have him call me. Again, this issue has been happening since 10/11. OVER 2 MONTHS without the issue being resolved. On Tuesday 12/18, I spoke with Dave the regional manager for Leaf Filter North and he said if he worked in the Fife office and received this job, he would have cancelled the job and never would have taken it. Good to know now, right!!!! He said doing a job like this is a waste of Leaf Filters time and money especially if they have a service request. What about my time and money that I have taken talking to these people, taking days off to be home when the service folks canceled due to various reasons??? The regional manager also mentioned talking to me at that moment over the phone is wasting time and money on a job that installed only 6ft of Leaf Filter. Right there shows you the integrity of this company. I highly suggest Leaf Filter to update their website with a disclaimer if you have 6ft or less of gutter you do not quality to have this product on your gutter. Maybe add a questionnaire for customers to fill out to see if they qualify. And I also suggest investing the time and money wasted on this job in re-training your Sale force to decline a job instead of thinking about the commission and making a sales quota. Dave said he was reaching out to his manager on the process it will take to get a 100% refund back and that I would hear back from him by the end of today 12/18. On Monday 1/8 Leaf Filter came and removed the product from our house. I reached out to Regional Manager Dave and he said that once another “Manager” enters the removal in the books which was supposed to be in the next day or two, we would receive a check for the full refund of $516 with 7-10 days. It’s January 29, 2019 and we will have not received the check in the mail. This morning (1/29) I texted the Regional Manager and called Leaf Filter and left a message asking for the status of the check. The regional manager got back to me via text and said that the Ops Manager did not send the proper paper work to corporate which mean no check was ever sent. He updated me and said that the proper has now been completed and accounting will be sending out a check tomorrow 1/30. We finally received the check around the second week in Feb. This company does not stay true it’s word on ANYTHING. I would never recommend Leaf Filter to strangers, neighbors, family, friends or my worst enemy. I know I should have stayed away when Debbie the sales person told me that the “installer” was complaining that he had to do a $516 job.

I cannot comment on the product. Recently installed. I'm commenting on the service. The installer had to clean out my gutters before installing guards. Trash was dumped on my stairs, ramp and deck. They did not clean up their mess. On my deck that was completed a few months earlier they had to move my furniture. One of the chairs had accumulated rust water in one of the legs. They dumped the water on the new furniture and deck. They replaced the furniture and made no effort to clean up the mess. When I asked them about this they indicated it was not their fault the mess was created. After having to argue with the installer and calling the sales person, Tim Gossage, they made a token effort to clean up the deck mess. I now have stained furniture and deck. The sales person only apologized for the mess. As a senior citizen it will be difficult for me to get the rust stains off my deck. The furniture will remain stain while in use.

The salesman was nice, The installers were 3 hours late getting started so they did not finish until after dark in the pouring rain. The installers were nice and cleaned up well after themselves. After the sun came up and I was able to inspect the work closer I realized they did not install the product to my expectations and did not use end caps, just globbed silicone on everything. They removed the original spikes holding up the gutters, while doing so, they bent up the gutters and now there are exposed holes in the gutters and the house where they removed the spikes. I called the sales representative and he pawned me off to the mail office and I am still waiting on them to get in touch with me. I do not and dought i would ever recomend this product due to the installation I received. My house is now worse off than it was prior to installation.

Ludovic (Rick) Fodor Angies List Dear Sir/Madam My name is Rick Fodor, I’m 75 years old and since claimbing is not anymore one of my favorite past time, this spring I decided to cover/protect my gutters so I don’t need to clean them every fall. By searching the Internet I found good references for the LeafFilter Gutter Protection system and their “Manufacturer’s lifetime, money back, no clog guarantee”, their BBB “A” rating, Angies List and being #1 professionally installed gutter protection (their claim) were good indicators of their professionality. Unfortunately I was wrong, advertised guarantees and real guarantees are be different. Please find below the short version of my story. On 3/3/18 the LeafFilter Company installed the gutter protection screen on my front gutter. I was thinking if it will work, I will install it around the whole house. A few days later it was raining, and at least in 2 places the water was overflowing the gutter. In one point it was really bad, lot worst than before the screens were installed. Called 3x and called with their secretary and wrote 3 e-mails with the complaint but I got no response within 10 days. Since nobody returned my calls, I filed a complaint with the Sacramento BBB (#12798816) and I asked my money back, as the guarantee mentioned it. Next day I was called and started to negotiate not to return my payment because they didn’t know if the gutter was filled or not. Didn’t make sense, because it was overflowing. Anyhow I accepted they send somebody to fix it. On 4/24/18 Somebody came, took off a piece of screen and it had some dirt on it. I was told that is the cause of the overflow. The technician cleaned it, mounted in place. When I sprinkled with water it overflow as initially. The technician didn’t know what was the problem so he called his foreman. He was told the foreman forgot to give him a piece that he needs to install. So basically he just wasted my time. Anyhow we set another appointment for 5/1/18 between 10-11:00. Since he didn’t show up till 11:30 I called the National Manager in Ohio (Michael 614-226-1723) and left a message that I don’t have all the day to wait for his technician. Five minute later a technician was calling he had another work to do and will be late. I told him I’m, available till 13:00 if he can’t make it we need to reschedule the appointment. And we did it for 5/8/18 between 10-11:00. On Appointment on 5/8/18 between 10-11:00 the technician could not fix the problem. Wanted to install a splashguard visibile from street. Since my house is in an HOA community, deviations from the standard of the HOA are not allowed. On the other hand in the company’s leaflet they claimed a special screen to solve the gutter overflow, no splashguard was even mentioned. On 5/10/18. Called the company’s varranty office, and asked for my money back. Promised to be called back in a day or two. I called two more times, same promise, but nobody called. On 5/18/18 the manager from Ohio called, insisting to install a splash-guard. I didn’t agreed so he came-up with the idea of replacing the leaf-guard mesh with another one with faster down-flow. I agreed and he promised to do that. A technician installed the new mesh with larger wholes, but without any visible effect. By watering the roof with a standard garden hose, after 3-5 min. started to overflow the gutter. The manager from OHIO called again and wanted to set another appointment to see how to fix the problem. I told him that I was very forthcomig giving him 4 chances to fix the problem, but my time and my resources are limited. Since the LeafFilter is not working as promised I requested my money back again, but it was denied. My opinion is that LeafFilter company is not acting honestly, they do not deserve Angies List support and definitely I want my money back. I had already left for work, he was supposed to start at 9. I got off at 3 and he was still here. He left about an hour later. He cleaned up after himself. He even cleaned out everything out of gutters before he started the job and put everything in the trash. Very professional. Even the salesman was very professional and very knowledgeable. He even had samples of other companies systems so that you could compare it to theirs. Which was very helpful in making my decision to go with them. So far the system is operating just like they said it would. Would DEFINITELY recommend this company.

The charming salesman won’t tell you this major flaw with this product, so I will. Be forewarned: if you have trees on or near your property consider their competitors. Anything that falls off the trees stays on top of the filter and the waters flows right over the gutters, and lands right by the foundation. I STILL need to get on the roof and clean gutters. I feel like purchasing this product from this company wasted a great deal of money.
