Horrific. Worst company ever. They tried to cancel the morning of the move, even though we had sold our house and closed that day and needed to get out. They said their workers were hung over. They then had a crew that was tired from moving all day show up mid afternoon to try to move but could not finish. They charged me 3-4 times the estimate, and refuse to unload the truck at the new house until I paid, and they were only about 1/2 half done with the move. The didn't finish the move that day, and drove the truck away with our expensive grand piano. The returned the next day but did not put the piano, beds, and other furniture back together. They severely damaged three hardwood floors, one brand new and one that was historic (the original 130 year old floor). They have refused to fix either or pay the damages. When I tried to make a claim, they asked me to sign a form with a non-disparagement clause saying I would not write a review...this was just to submit the claim, not settle it! I refused, and now I am suing them. Their customer support was horrible and they don't seem to care about much of anything other than getting paid. They had me sign a form before the move that made it clear that there was very little insurance unless I paid for additional insurance they offered. I tried to get the additional insurance, but was informed that they don't actually offer it. They would not move unless I signed the form.

DO NOT USE THIS MOVING COMPANY!. I signed up for both packing and unpacking (I was going to be reimbursed by my employer so money was not an issue), but they did neither. I was told to "sit back, relax, and they will take care of everything", but it was nothing but a nightmare! They only sent 2 men to pack, move, and unpack a 3 bedroom house. I was told they could possibly do it it 1 day but 2 at the most. They didn't show up until 10:00am and they were no where near finished packing by 5:00pm and we were moving to Michigan from Ohio (3 hour drive). So my husband and I started to help them pack and we still didn't finish until 10:30pm. They showed up unprepared...they didn't have enough boxes. They didn't bring wardrobe boxes or book boxes. Our professional clothes had to be taken off the hangers and shoved into regular boxes. One of the men didn't even know we were moving to Michigan. He thought it was a local move. They didn't know how to disassemble or reassemble any furniture. We had to do it for them. They arrived at our new house in Michigan 3 hours early, and they didn't even give us phone call to say they were leaving earlier. So they just sat around for 3 hours until we could get there. And when we finally got there, they said they weren't going to unpack! I told them that I signed up for unpacking and it was on my estimate. So I called their boss and he was totally inconsiderate and condescending. The man that did our walk-through and inventory pretty much told me a bunch of lies. We used this company moving from Chapel Hill, NC to Columbus, OH and had a great experience, which is why we used them again. But the company based in Hilliard, OH is terrible!!!

This company is the absolute worst. Mike and Danny (the people who we had to talk to about all our issues) were very inconsiderate, they treated us like we were idiots. Let's talk about the endless issues that occurred with this company shall we? First of all, we had to call them the day of our move to confirm they were coming... THEY DID NOT EVEN KNOW THEY WERE MOVING US THAT DAY. We called a week in advance to check the time and date to make sure everything would go smoothly. Mike and Danny on the phone are the most unprofessional. They told us it was our fault we did not schedule correctly, (which is just rude and disrespectful, how could we not know the day of our move? the day was like memorizing a birthday, of course we knew what day to move, those idiots just did not care and did not schedule it, its like i am dealing with teenagers with attitudes, its crazy. Next thing, all my silk and nice work shirts, work suits, evening dresses, and nice clothes were thrown into boxes not even cared for. HERE WE GO ANOTHER ISSUE, THE LIST GOES ON ON and ON... Walls were damaged heavily with scuffs, dings, chips, I MEAN THE PAINT WAS COMPLETELY SCRATCHED OFF IN OUR BRAND NEW HOME, THE DRYWALL WAS RUINED, NOTHING WAS PROTECTED, THEY DID NOT EVEN WRAP THE DOORWAYS UP IN MATS. NOW I HAVE TO HIRE SOMEONE TO RE PAINT MY WHOLE HOUSE WALLS-- ITS INSANE. ANOTHER ONE, alright so Danny and Mike are the most unprofessional people ever, they told us our move would not take long (I WAS FURIOUS), they brought 3 guys at 1 o'clock (THEY WERE 4 HOURS LATE) then realized OH S*** THIS GONNA TAKE ALL NIGHT, so they bring 5 more guys and they finished moving around 12AM THE NEXT DAY. These movers were so fed up that they put all our stuff in the garage, SO WE HAD TO MOVE EVERYTHING THE NEXT DAY- IM NOT JUST TALKING ABOUT BOXES, THEY PUT CHAIRS, DESKS, TABLES IN THE GARAGE LIKE WHY. HERE WE GO AGAIN RIGHT? yep. I just want to be clear that the 8 mover guys were very nice and respectful but just tired and drained out because mike and danny are idiots and thought our move would take little time. So these men were working their butts off. 9:30PM rolls around and these men are taking up a big a** armoire upstairs to the bedroom, they get up their with it and say "This things is just not gonna fit, its no possible" so my response was "well you guys are just going to have to take it back down stairs if it does not fit" i was not trying to be rude, an armoire cannot just sit upstairs blocking the hallway/loft area... so these guys said they would come back the next day. NEVER CAME BACK. THEY LEFT DOLLEYS, MATTS, EQUIPMENT AND EVERYTHING AND PRACTICALLY RAN OUT AS FAST AS THEY COULD AND NEVER COME BACK. SO when you guys read this, i guess we can sell the equipment online and make money from them since you ripped us off... this one is for you mike and danny. ALL in ALL, the 8 mover men were truly amazing people who should be working for better people than mike and danny or whoever their bosses are. To the guys who worked their a**** off for us, THANK YOU. To the company who screwed us over and mike and danny and whoever is a part of management, please learn respect, customer service, and just find new jobs cause you suck at this one. I hope you enjoy this review, because you really screwed up my move and basically put me through h***. Also, just to let you know, I had 2 teenagers, 19 years old, move the armoire into the bedroom with ease, sorry fellas but you guys could have but a little more effort into it. Last but no least my friends, I paid so much money for this move, I am talking thousands of dollars to this crappy company, completely wasted. I called All My Sons for a price estimate to move less than 20 larger items to our new home. They told me with 3 movers they could get it done in 2 hours. I asked them if there were any additional fees aside from what they explained to me on the phone. I asked this question twice because we had an issue with another moving company in the past. Again they reassured me there were no additional fees. When they got here the three men were nice but slow. I told them I was told this would be completed in 2 hours. They said it might be closer to 3, which would have been fine because I planned for a little extra. Then as their moving they become slower. One of the guys had never moved anyone before--it was his first day. So when I made the comment again they told me they write trying to teach him so they were not up to their normal speed. While I understand they need to teach new people, they should have told me ahead of time or taken time off the end. To make their job EASIER we had many items in the family room ready for them to take out to their truck. I was never told that I had the option for them to wrap my items. They wrapped them, which took for ever and was an additional fee, which I was not told about after I asked. They asked if they could take a 5 minute break to get a drink on their truck. When I told them it was ok, they came back 15 minutes later. The last large item they had was a family heirloom, which was my piano. They told me that the two guys, who had moved before, had moved several pianos. Then I overheard them talking later only one of them had ever moved a piano and he had only moved a couple. Had I'd known this they would not have moved it. When we arrived at our new house I was given the total of $800. I have planned around $400 max based off the information I was quoted. I was completely shocked. It had take. Them 4 hours to move, plus they charged me an addition HOUR for DRIVING when they were less than 10 minutes from where we live. On top of that I had to pay gas and wrapping fees which I was told NOTHING about after I specifically asked about on the phone on two different occasions (the first time I spoke with them and the day before the move). I had also pulled cash out from our savings to pay them. The day before when I spoke with them on the phone they said I could pay cash, check, or card. Then when they asked for payment, I told them I'd do half cash and put the rest on my card, they said they didn't take cash. I was livid with everything happening, especially the price. I asked to speak to a manager on the phone. The man o spoke to claimed he was the original "sales man" I had spoken to the past two times, but he was not. He was extremely rude and acted like I was stupid and didn't know what I was talking about. I had all of my notes in front of me from my other conversations with them and nothing matches up. He continued to tell me I was wrong. One of the guys moving us was nice and told me he would have that original sales man call me. He never did. I would never use this company again. They were terrible and such a waste of money. I feel like they ripped me off because I was a female and I was alone and doing the moving while my husband was at work. Don't use all my sons!

When it started off things where great, they showed up on time and worked hard. My issue is they took little to no care with any of my furniture. They took a door off and put the greasy pins on my cream colored carpet, they moved a leather couch with the cushions on and tore the couch and have yet to response on how they are going to correct it. I requested them to put the boxes in the marked rooms and instead they just pilled them in my garage. NEVER AGAIN.

I would not recommend them. They're terrible. They promised to come and they didn't come. They cancelled on us twice. The first day, it was fine because there was a major accident in Columbus and they shut down the highways. They did it on the following day. We got it done at 8 o'clock at night.

From my very first interaction with All My Sons Moving & Storage, I knew this was going to be a good experience. I requested a quote online and within less than 5 minutes I was receiving a phone call from the company to answer all of my questions and provide an estimate. Everyone I spoke to on the phone was so incredibly helpful. One day I even got a phone call just to say, "welcome to the family!" How nice?! I only ran into a couple of small issues. My moving time was switched at the last minute [reason I'm giving them a B in punctuality]. There was also a charge for packing materials that I was not made aware of until the movers arrived. With both of these issues, I was able to call the office where the staff addressed these concerns and quickly offered solutions. They really did want me to have the best possible experience, and couldn't have been more apologetic for these added stressors. The best part of the whole experience was my moving team. Mike and Eddie were AWESOME! To say they hustled would be an understatement. They could not have been more helpful in explaining the whole process and making sure I was happy with the moving experience. From making sure my mattress stayed nice and clean to putting down rugs and runners to protect my flooring, they were so careful and attentive. They certainly exceeded all of my expectations for the job, and I can't give them enough kudos. Overall my experience with All My Sons was really good and definitely worth the investment. They weren't the most inexpensive option out there [reason I'm giving them a B in cost], but customer service like this means a lot.

When I was initially contacted by the company, I spoke with a woman that quoted me a rate of $99/hr which included 2 men, 1 truck, and 1 hour of travel time. She stated that the time "on the clock" for the 2 men would start when they reached my destination. She also stated that if I needed them to pack my items or additional packing materials the day of the move, those things would be available to me from the movers. I told her I would not need the items as everything would be ready to go when the movers arrived. She went on to state that I did not need to empty the drawers for the dressers as they would be moved full of their contents. She stated that she would estimate the total for the move to be "somewhere around $350" after I told her everything that needed moved. The day of the move, the movers arrived, 1 experienced guy and 1 guy that was "in training". They emptied the apartment in approximately 1.5 hours. I noticed that the movers wrapped the dressers, with all of their contents, in plastic wrap. They also wrapped the mattress and box springs prior to loading them on the moving truck. Upon arrival to the home, after a 1 hour drive, the experienced guy approached me telling me that he was going to go over the bill with me. Apparently, it is the company's policy that payment must be received prior to them unloading the property at the new location. This had not been discussed with me prior to agreeing to this company's bid. I then asked what the $45 packing materials charge was for, as all of my materials were packed prior to the movers arrival? I was told it was for 2 rolls of plastic wrap and 2 rolls of tape used to load my possessions. After strongly stating my objection to paying the fee, the mover suggested it be may be able to be cut in half. I stated I was not going to pay a fee that was not explained prior to the move. Additionally, had I known that leaving the dresser drawers full would require the use of these items, I would have emptied them and packed the items, just as I had the prior 3 times I had moved. I attempted to contact the office but there was no answer. The mover stated something to the extent of he would call from his phone as the manager had not been having good interactions with customers lately. Once the manager was on the phone, the mover explained my objection and again offered to cut the fee in half. Again, I stated I would not pay for a fee that was not part of my original quote. The manager then spoke to me on the mover's phone, trying to explain why the fee was necessary and part of what they usually do. After strongly stating my position that the quote I received was all I was paying, the manager stated that "the branch would absorb the cost" and waive the fee. While going over the rest of the bill, the mover explained that I was getting "quite a deal" by only being charged for 1 hour of travel due to the distance between sites. I stated that I wasn't getting "a deal" but instead, that was the quote provided by the company. He informed me that he drove an hour just to get to me, and the travel time usually covers moves in town. I again explained that I provided both addresses when I requested a bid for this job; if the distance was not understood, that was a poor job by the company. I was not getting any favors by the mover with the bill for travel time. He was following the company's policy. His response was "ok, ok whatever." When the bill was finalized, with my possessions still on the moving truck behind closed doors, I again expressed my disbelief that I would pay for a job prior to it being completed. He stated that he estimates it will take half the time to unload the truck (45 minutes) as it did to load it. At this point, there was no option but to pay the bill so the items could be unloaded. At the end of 45 minutes, the truck was no where near unloaded. After approximately 55 minutes or so, the experienced mover asked if the items could be unloaded into the garage instead of being placed into rooms. He explained that he "gets in trouble for going too far over the estimate" and didn't want to charge for another hour to unload the items and place them in the appropriate spots in the house. The bed was left unassembled, mattress & box springs still wrapped, in a bedroom. The leather chairs, the couch, a dresser, a lamp and the washer/dryer were brought in the house. The rest of the items were all left in a hodge podge arrangement in the garage. The guys that were on site were very good about moving items. I would have paid them for the time it took to actually move the items into the house. However, once the bill was paid as a requirement for moving the materials off of the truck, I feel that I paid for the job to be done correctly at the rate that company set, not me. This was not done. I have used movers several times previously. I have never had my possessions "held captive" on a moving truck with payment required for the movers to unload them, just to be told that the time to do so was underestimated and could they just be left in the garage for me to move myself later. Appalling! It is also noteworthy that I had taken a side trip on the way from the apartment to the house in order to get cash to tip the movers. There was another adult at the house so I didn't think this was a problem. Apparently, they told the person at the house that they would not be unloading my possessions until I arrived to pay the bill. As I was unaware of this, I was paying for them to sit in the driveway and wait for me. As I said, the guys that moved the items did an OK job and received a tip. However, the questionable, at best, fiscal practices of the company have left the proverbial "bad taste in my mouth" regarding All My Sons Moving and Storage.
Description of Work: The company responded to an email request regarding a bid to move me from a 2nd floor apartment to a house. The drive between the two locations was about one hour. This zip code for the locations was submitted as part of my original request for the bid. The items moved included a washer/dryer, double bed, 2 dressers, a chest, 3 night stands, tv stand, leather 3 person couch, leather chair, leather recliner, and packed boxes.

They did get the job done. It was a miserably hot day and they worked until almost 7:00 or 8:00 in the evening to get it done and I appreciated that. They did show up a couple of hours late in the morning and that's one reason why they had to work so late. I would possibly use them again.

I contacted the company on their website to get a quote for a local house to house move on Nov 7. They called me the next day and the person on the line got the basic information. He then said that we were on the border between being able to give a quote on the phone and needing to have an estimator come to our home. We finally decide to have the estimator come and set an appointment for Nov 13. I arranged to work from home on that day. Never heard a word - no call, no estimator, no e-mail, nothing. As of today (Nov 20), I still have heard nothing. Fortunately, there are plenty of other movers who want my business.

I was unhappy because they dragged a mattress across a hardwood floor and left a scratch 6-8 feet long. I should have comolained, but it was the end of a long day... My daughter was unhappy about the careless way they stacked boxes in the storage unit and that they dragged a kitchen table across the concrete floor.

An All My Sons Employee came to my home and wrote an estimate calling for four men and two trucks to move a piano, fridge, furniture, etc. Confirmed the move date two weeks before we were scheduled to move. No one showed the day of the move. The company's dispatcher never called us the day before to confirm our move. The crew assigned to us was sent out on another job. After multiple calls, the Dublin office staff offered to send out a crew at 4 p.m. the same day. We declined and asked for a crew in the morning. In the meantime, my husband and I moved all of the boxes and furniture we could to our garage and first floor of our home befor. The next day, a three-man crew showed up with one truck. The movers busted their butts to get our items loaded and moved. They couldn't fit all of our items in the truck, leaving some for us shuttle from our old house to our new home. Honestly, the guys working the truck were hard workers. The office staff was horrible. I won't use this company again.

I received a phone call after finding this company through a moving search website. They called and scheduled a time to come out yesterday (06/22/2013) for an in home estimate at 3. The man called at 1 and said his car was broken down and he needed to wait for Triple A to come out and wanted to know if we could reschedule for Monday. I told him I couldn't do Monday because I was working but I could do anytime on Saturday or on Sunday. He said he wasn't sure about Sunday but would possibly try. I asked him to please call me throughout the day to keep me posted on the progress and possibility of him still being able to make it out. He never called back. After seeing some of the less than enthusiastic reviews on Angie's List I will not be using them.

I used a service called MyBuddy.com to get a list of movers that I could get quotes from to move me from Columbus to Dayton. I put the request in online on a Sunday evening. Upon arriving home Monday, all businesses contacted me. This business, however, called me 5 times in the first day. Apparently, they don't understand that some people work and cannot take calls while at work. So, I called the other businesses to get my quote started and figured I would call them last. Before I got done with my list, another call. So I decided not to call them. Joke was on me, because Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, I received five calls each day. Talk about hard up for business. Finally, the calls seemed to stop. Now, I am moving in two days. Yesterday I received another call, no message, but I know the phone number by now. Today, another no-message call. Then a text message asking me to call or respond to the text massage if I wanted to use their service with a note about their price ($85 an hour for two men) and that this was a discounted price. I deleted the message and proceeded to go about my packing. Just now, I received a phone call from a different number than the businesses number. I didn't recognize it, and with the move figured it could be something related. It was from All My Sons. He asked if he could schedule a move with me. I said, "No and I would never use your services after..." HE HUNG UP!!!!! What great professionalism. Not only would I never use this company, but I would also never EVER recommend them to anyone. Harassment, rudeness, an extreme lack of professionalism, and EXPENSIVE!! The company I went with was cheaper than their discounted price by $20 an hour!!

They moved us within about 5-1/2 hours from a 2,000 square foot house with all furniture. I disliked that they really did not give me a time frame as to when they were going to show up until the actual day, and then I did not hear from them until about noon. I had to call them a few times to figure out when they were coming. Since they did not give me a specific time I was kind of up in the air. They did not show up until about 1 or 2 p.m. so I could have spent some time at work instead of taking the entire day off. But, they moved quickly and were very nice; nothing was broken and they made sure everything was covered. They did not spend a whole lot of time messing around; so that was a big plus. We just needed a little communication as to when they were going to arrive and stuff.
Description of Work: I used All My Sons Moving & Storage of Columbus for a whole house move.

All My Sons Moving & Storage of Columbus were late getting there and we were not happy with them. They were pretty atrocious. First and foremost they were late, they were supposed to be there at 9 or 10 in the morning and I had to call them every two or three hours because they just weren't showing up. They kept on telling me that they had a truck that had broken down and that's why they were taking so long. When I went on Angie's list to look at the comments after the move, it was like a common thing, others had the same complaints, so they never showed up until 10 at night and even that, I had to beg them to come. They were loading the truck at 1am and they said that they would be at the destination in the morning, which they were but our stuff had been stored in their truck overnight and we were unhappy with that.. We wrote fragile and we had written on the boxes, where certain things were supposed to go but they disregarded that. We found the tops of the fragile boxes had collapsed so we were unhappy with that. They didn't give us any discount in fact they came back later and said that their boss had instructed to get another hours work from us. I have had family members move since then and they were thinking about using them and I have been telling them, please don't.

It made me feel like they thought they were doing me a favor. It was very poor service. We had an appointment for noon that we scheduled a week in advance. They waited until the last minute to cancel. They weren't even apologetic. So much for Angie's List.
Description of Work: We had an appointment scheduled with them for a week. Fifty-five minutes before they were supposed to arrive, they called and left a voice mail saying they weren't going to make it. They said if we wanted them to come back out to give an estimate, they wanted us to call them back.

Response from All My Sons Moving & Storage
Our estimator, Andrew, was enroute to perform the free estimate at the requested time, but had a family emergency develop. Approximatly an hour prior to the agreed time, Andrew called the customer several times. Recieving no answer, he left a message stating that he would need to rescedule with apologies, and asked her to call back with what time or day would be convinient for her. The General Manager, Nick, attempted to reach out to the customer and apologize for the inconvinience of having to reschedule. Upon contact with Susan, she politley transferred the call to her husband, who promptly began using explicit language and hung up the phone. Nick called back, and spoke with Susan's husband, who explained to us how we can improve our services. His response has been noted and we will adjust our services accordingly to reduce such inconviniences.
