Overhead Door Co of Greater Cincinnati

Had a number of issues: * Called on a Saturday and declined weekend service to avoid extra costs. Left message to call back on Monday. * Did not call back on following Monday but called on Tuesday as we were preparing to call them * Company quoted a cost of $161 for one spring or $206 for both we wanted to replace both (we did) * Brother was at the home when repair person arrived * Service person was pretty unfriendly. Better once he found out they were from Texas * Rep said he did not have the proper springs (home is about 10 years old and standard garage door and springs) * Told brother that it would be $280.00 to come back with proper parts to replace the springs or $350 to go with a a different spring set * With a winter storm warning issued, he chose to pay the $350 to get the repair done * The company should have had the available parts to do the repair - feels a little like a bait and switch - knowing a storm was coming and not wanting to have to leave an auto out in it. * Called the company about this issue. Their explanation about an almost doubling of the quoted cost was different from what the rep had said. They talked about some $30 charge for having to do it that day instead of later, etc. It did not explain the additional $144 in cost (70% higher than quoted) * So, no call back, unfriendly repair person, and cost was $185.60 higher (after Angie's List discount on $206 quote) or 88.8%. Nothing about this went well other than the garage door is now working.

Both the repair person & the install person were great. Both arrived on the scheduled day, within the scheduled time frame. Both called before arrival so I could work up to a few minutes beforehand. I think the amount of time it took to from my initial call on 11/21 to final repair on 12/4 was a bit too long.

It went well. The receptionist was professional and helpful. The technician got back to me quickly. It was a middle of the night call, so the price was probably fair, and they were booked for days otherwise. He got to our place around 10:30 and did his work rather quickly. He provided me a discount because I mentioned Angie's List and I was not able to print a coupon.

We had two garage doors not working properly. One had recently been fixed by another company and they did a poor job so we called Overhead. In a very brief period of time, both doors had been fixed. The gentleman who came out was wonderful - very nice, patient, professional and thorough. I would definitely use them again.

Service was completed although the rubber seal replacements failed and have to be replaced. They were very responsive on rescheduling a repair of the seals.

Great experience. I called over the weekend, got a callback, decided I didn't need emergency service so - as promised - someone called me first thing Monday morning and was at my house before 10:30 a.m. I received a heads up call when the repairman was on the way. He immediately identified the problem (a broken roller) and fixed it in minutes. He was professional, knowledgeable, and honest. He did not try to sell me anything that wasn't needed and my garage door is now fixed for just under $100 (would have been less if I"d used coupon). Completely satisfied with the service and will definitely use them again.

Mr George Schiller came out to the house on Oct. 15. He arrived on time and quickly confirmed by garage door was beyond repair. He was able to get the door closed and had a great suggestion to secure it until the new door could be installed. The person who installed my new garage door the following week was prompt and professional. He got to work quickly and had the new door installed within a couple hours. He did a great job! I would use Overhead Door in the future.

The technician called to give an approximate arrival time and arrived early. He greeted me with a smile, inspected the door and began to work. He completed the task in 1/2 hour and the door operated perfectly.

The salesman and the installer were both very punctual and here on time. The installer, who worked on the doors for about 2 1/2 hours, did an excellent job. Everything was cleaned up leaving no mess behind. I just wanted to give them a great recommendation on Angie's List.

Everything was restored to way it should be and both garage doors are working well

Three days ago, I jumped on Angie's list and looked for names of potential companies to invite to my home to give me a bid on attic insulation. The write up for Angie's on Overhead Door Company of Greater Cincinnati stated "no subs .... thermal insulation for attics .... service the entire area [of Greater Cincinnati]," and this company showed an overall rating of "A." I was impressed. I called three days ago and reach someone named Bob, who explained that estimates are free, but he said he would give my name and number to his field rep, "John Smith." A couple hours later, I got a phone call from a man -- just said he was from some company by the name of " Monroe Company," or something to that effect, and said he was calling about the insulation job. The man may have said this is John Smith from Monroe Company, but the "Monroe Company" thing threw me off. Told him I had not made any calls to a company by the name of "Monroe," then I read him my short list of names of companies I had called that morning. When I got to the name of "Overhead Door Company of Greater Cincinnati," this man said yea, that's me. Okay fine, I was a little confused but I was still interested. Then I asked him if he could come out to my home to give me a bid -- I explained that evenings or weekends would work better for me. Then I got the RED FLAG: this man, John Smith, said to me, 'look, you have to work around MY schedule,' and proceeded to give me his banker-work hours. If a ordinary person treated their employer that way, they would not be employed for very long. Right before I was ready to tell this John Smith, thanks but no thanks, he told me he was actually out of "DAYTON" and he said he would call the company to see if someone in Cincinnati could give me an estimate on a evening, etc. Again, that was three days ago. Overhead Door Company of "Greater Cincinnati," is showing their address just minutes from my home, at 9345 Princeton Glendale: how is it that their field rep for my Cincinnati home is some separate company based out of DAYTON, OHIO, which is more than 50 miles away? And how is it that Overhead Door Company of "Greater Cincinnati," just minutes from my home, needs to send me to a company located out of Dayton, which company is apparently not willing to work outside of their banker-hours, and needs to channel me back to Cincinnati, where Overhead takes more than 3 days just to find someone wiling to talk to me about the insulation job at my home? Thanks Angie's List.

Efficient and prompt service - done in less than 30 minutes! Excellent job!

My efforts to diagnose the problem failed and I called for help. They sent a Tech out within a couple hours and, he was able to figure out why it would fail to close or reverse and go open again. He checked out a couple items and found the issue and it was corrected. The Tech was very friendly and quick, he also checked out the lubrication points, lubed a couple and it works perfectly. I'm sure if I had the time, I would have eventually found the problem, but why mess around, time is money. Call the experts a garage door is part of the house security and they have to work when activated.

I was very happy that we were able to call on a Saturday and make an appointment for Monday morning. Only slight glitch was they told us the time frame would be 9 to noon and the arrived at 1 pm. The did call when they were on their way. They gave the best price from 3 other companies we called. In and out in less than 30 minutes. Very professional, no complaints.

The first time he came he said the motor needed more oil. After doing this I was still having problems. They came back to replace the button. He said if I was still having problems to call them and they would come out free of charge. They came and fixed again. They gave me a 10% discount for being a member. They were courteous. polite, and on time.

Called night before was able to get appointment by noon the next day. Repairman called to let us know on his way. Fixed problem quickly and courteously. Will definitely call Overhead Door for any garage door issues in the future.

The salesman was very professional and showed up right at the appointed time. He asked my wife and I questions about what we needed in a garage door opener and recommended a model that was the lowest maintenance, most economical, and quietest. We set up the appointment for the installation and that day, as promised, the installer called to let me know he was 20 minutes away from our house. I left work and met the installer. He replaced the torsion spring and installed the new garage door opener very quickly. Unfortunately, I had to get back to work before he had completed the job. Nick, the installer, apologized that he couldn't't complete the job during my lunch hour but told me he could finish up and close the garage door or he would come back later when someone would be home. I left him to finish the job and returned to work. I have to report that my co-workers thought I was crazy to leave the installer at my home unsupervised. When I got home that evening, the new garage door opener worked beautifully, and the garage was cleaned and showed no trace that the installer had been there. I will use Overhead Door exclusively from now on.
