They responded quickly to our initial call for emergency services. There was a time lag before our new carpet was ordered and installed, while we waited for our insurance company to approve the expense. I did have to call Clarke for updates a couple of times while this was happening. The workers were always polite, and they left everything clean when they finished working. There were a couple of small things that needed fixing after they finished (a bump under the carpet from a scrap of padding that was inadvertently left under the new carpet). It took a while to get someone back to do that, because they were on another job, but they did fix it. My basement looks like new again!

They were wonderful. I initially called them for an estimate to see how much it would cost to do the repairs to the property where we had the mold. I am in a wheelchair and I can’t get inside the property. They were the ones who told me about the mold in the property and that they couldn’t do the remediation. They were more than willing to come out and do the work afterwards like the other construction and repairs. I knew that there were a lot of repairs that needed to be done on the other property. I asked for an estimate because they had done such a good job on the property that I live in. So, I called them to come out and do an estimate on the other property with the mold. That’s when they told me that they don’t do mold remediation, but they told me that the stones at the property were solid and good. It was fairly cosmetic, but there was extensive cosmetic stuff that needed to be done which was consistent with everything that I heard from the mold people who came out. So, they were right on the money. I don’t know to what extent the mold remediation would require further work on the property. They do consistently good work every time I contract them for anything. They have been very responsive, knowledgeable and fair. They tell me exactly what they do and don’t do well. They don’t do roofs and gutters. The guy told me that he would be happy to tell me what could be done and the cost once the other work was finished. It was going to be an estimate, but he couldn’t do the estimate because of the other two things. I liked the manager that I dealt with for my house better than the manager that came out to the other property. However, that was just more of a personality thing. I would most definitely use them in the future.

My experience with Clarke Contractors Inc. Company was good. We liked the man they sent out for the work. He did a real nice job. I would use this company again in the future.

They are great. They did an excellent job. They were quick, efficient, clean, and respectful. I couldn't ask for anything better. Their prices were reasonable too. It was a good deal. I got another estimate, and they were a lot more. Their efficiency and their professional manner stood out the most to me. I liked their professional manner as far as the estimates and observing job. I even had a problem with the roof, which I thought, but it was not. He came back speedily, checked it, and showed me where the problem was, which was not the roof. They came with their nametag, and they showed their identification. They were very respectful as far as speaking to me. They were professional in knowing their job. They did their job. They cleaned their job, and there was no thrash left. I was very pleased. They are good company to work with.

They gave a very competitive quote. They seemed very knowledgeable. They had to replenish around the leak and it appears to be that they had done a great job. I just want to wait for a few rains to see if it holds fine. I picked them because they gentleman who quoted me seemed very straightforward and knowledgeable. The price was very good. They did exactly what needed to be done.

Last February my house suffered interior and exterior water damage from ice dams in my box gutters. My insurance company recommended Clarke Contractors as one of their preferred contractors to do the interior and exterior scraping and painting repair work. This work was done in July 2010. In addition to the agreed on scope of services I asked a Clarke representative to look at my top roof and gutters and let me know if they were in good condition. I was told by Clarke that my gutters were in good condition and that my damage was due to an ?unusual weather event.? These statements were false and because Clarke did not tell me the truth I had to contract for emergency gutter and downspout repairs following only a 4 inch snowfall mid December 2010 that resulted in interior damage to my walls and exterior damage to my soffits. In addition to the insurance claim work I signed a separate work order with Clarke to scrape and paint the second floor porch soffits. Unknown to me, the soffit boards were rotten and beginning to sag and affect the slant of my gutter linings. Instead of telling me that the boards needed to be replaced, Clarke spread on a layer of drywall mud -like substance and painted over it. This was discovered when I noticed paint peeling off and when the roofer doing the emergency work pulled up the gutter linings. This is one of those disputes where it is Clarke?s word against mine since I did not ask them to do a separate scope of service for roof and gutter inspection. Because they were recommended by my insurance company I trusted them to be honest and do a thorough job. Clarke has refused to acknowledge any blame and denies that anybody from their company inspected my gutters or told me that all was well with the gutters. I learned my lesson the hard way on this one. I do not expect Angie's List to resolve this issue. I just want others to know that I would definitely not recommend Clarke Contractors.

Very well pleased! There were a few blips and glitches,however the overall quality and craftsmanship of the workers were to be commended.

The workers were very sweet and considerate. When working inside they readily accommodated my husband's unusual work/sleep schedule. They arrived early and worked all day. I am amazed at how well they did on creating stair rails that matched the porch's handrail!

This is an honest company! They take their work seriously. They meet their schedule. They are just an overall excellent company to deal with.
