Kicking Ash Chimney Svc

Went great. Original appointment had to be rescheduled due to weather, but they quickly set a new date and time for us and were on time and did a great job. Made some suggestions for upgrading our fireplace that would make it more efficient for heating if we wanted.

It was super fast and everything seemed to go okay.

I was amazed at the amount of soot that was removed from the fireplace. This is an older house that we just bought. I was also amazed that there was no mess. All around an excellent experience

Awesome, he recommended that we will need a new insert. We ordered it and waiting for it to come in. This new insert will be using a remote control.

They were prompt, professional, knowledgeable, diagnosed the problem quickly and gave provided good advis.

They said they couldn't fix the problem without a costly replacement of the entire log and burner system. Overall, they weren't worth the money.

Service is fast and service person seemed knowledgeable

Showed up on time and did a nice job on inspection and cleaning of chimney. Left no mess and provided advise on care of chimney forward.

The owner of the company thoroughly inspected our chimney both from inside the house and from outside on the roof. He wrote a complete assessment of the chimney and said it was in good condition. He gave us a tip how to take care of this fireplace. He did all of this for us at no charge.

Great. The fireplace was repaired and works. There was no additional charge for the repair as I had purchased a coupon.

Well, it’s my fault for buying an Angie’s list deal for something we couldn’t use. The service man was professional though. We paid $40 and then the balance for a tune-up. But really it was a consultation. The gas log in our new house was broken and could not be tuned up.

Fast, efficient, thorough service. They got my fireplace cleaned up, thoroughly checked out and ready to safely use for the season. They also gave me helpful recommendations for taking care of my current system and recommendations for eventually replacing my aging gas fireplace equipment.

The young man who performed the cleaning was polite and respectful. He cleaned up after the cleaning and kept us informed of what he was doing.

Actually needed to replace all pipe work. The wood burning stove hits much better and the fires are much easier to start. Will have cleaning completed annually in the spring as recommended.

They were on time and the work was performed professionally.

The cleaning went well. Unfortunately, the technician removed all of the glowing ember material and forgot to replace it, but we did not notice until after his departure. After calling them back to discuss, they acknowledged the oversight and scheduled a return visit to install some new ember material. Also, the pilot light spark igniter does not always light the pilot. Instead of attempting to correct, the technician used a manual lighter to ignite the pilot. As part of the tuneup, I expected the technician to diagnose any issues, provide an estimate to correct, and give us the option to have that additional work done. The technician did not attempt to diagnose, but rather found a temporary workaround, that I'm not necessarily interested in doing every time I want to ignite the pilot light.

I have used Kicking Ash twice for sweeping and also for parging the smoke chamber. The technicians are very knowledgeable and personable. They know their stuff and give you options of how to best repair and maintain the fireplace. It is amazing how many folks pass up a $100 chimney sweep annually and end up having costly repairs down the road. Using Kicking Ash is money well spent. Call or email in advance to get the best scheduling. At busy times, email response can be a bit slow.

They did a great job cleaning chimney, sealing chimney and installing new damper. Would hire again for any chimney needs.
