Prompt. Listed all the issues. Made suggestions for solving the problems. We bought the house but are delaying the project for later.

It went fine. Very nice, very helpful. There was additional cost and we paid it and they discovered they didn't need it so they refunded it. It does need repair, but it's very expensive so we're going to wait. They came out within a couple of weeks. They called and we scheduled an appointment. I thought the price was excellent. Their responsiveness was very good. The punctuality was a little off because they had another job that ran them behind. The worker was very knowledgeable and very thorough. I mean they went over everything step by step and what repairs would need to be made.

The cleaning took about 2 hours to remove a large blockage built up by squirrels. They returned on Sunday to install a new cap.to prevent a recurrence. They did excellent work.

Excellent. Provider was very honest and answered all my questions relating to the fireplace and even helped explain the best way to have a fire without the smoke being pulled back into the house.

It went really well. Tech was punctual which is important. They were very professionL plus they provided a detail report of the results.

They showed up right on time at 2:00. They laid down a very generous sized cloth over the wood floor to protect it from ash and other debris during cleaning. He did a thorough inspection, then cleaned out the fireplace, inspected the inside and even showed me how to use the flue (which was not a normal flue!). He patiently explained how it functions and showed me exactly how to use it. He did this all while being chatted up by my 5-year old daughter and still managed to be done in a reasonable amount of time! He did an outside inspection and made some suggestions for the spring time to extend the life of the chimney for the future. Great guy, great service!

We were very pleased with the work done by Jeremy from Kicking Ash Chimney Service. We had an estimate for the work from another company and we called Kicking Ash for a second opinion. Jeremy was able to look at what needed to be done, to get our fireplace operational and up to code. By creating a unique solution with a tool he made, he was able to do the work for a cost of more than a 1/4 less than the other company. An honest business man, with a strong work ethic has become rare in this day and age. We appreciated the work that Jeremy did and his willingness to think "outside the box" to find a less expensive solution to fixing our chimney.

Jeremy was super responsive with emails as far as questions...we must have sent almost 20 emails! he was on time and very courteous. He explained everything and made sure I knew exactly what was going on during demolition and construction time. the two of them knocked through our closed up fireplace and made it a see-through, widened the entrance and then framed both sides so that my husband could lay the stone and hang the mantle. I would definitely recommend and we would work with his company again! when all other companies we're saying it couldn't be done or were wanting to charge us tens of thousands of dollars, Jeremy came in with confidence and knowledge and made our fireplace dream come true! choose small businesses like this and you won't be sorry!

Kicking Ash carefully reinspected our fireplace and chimney and found no problems. They were very thorough and knowledgeable and we were very comfortable in their assessment. We had a home inspector a few months ago who gave us the same positive assessment. Kicking Ash could easily have done what we asked and given us a quote on installing a chimney liner but they chose to be completely honest and charged us nothing. Will definitely recommend this company.

After several years and many visits from another provider, Jeremy finally addressed the real problem we were having. He took the time to explain what needed to be done and provided the necessary services on a timely and efficient manner. I would use Kicking Ash again without question.

Excellent. I gave a deposit for the parts, which arrived within a week. Jeremy (owner) contacted me and arranged a date for installation. He arrived on time and completed the work quickly and efficiently. Costs for labor and pipe was a little north of $300. When finished he cleaned up and explained to me what he did. Kicking Ash is a small family owned business. I found the costs to be very reasonable. Jeremy was responsive and professional. He did what he said he would on time and within budget. I will continue using him for on-going maintenance of my wood burner.

We were in the market for a new stove, and while we were shopping around town, a salesman at Scioto Valley, the home resort products store in Hilliard, referred us to Jeremy. Before we had even committed to a purchase, Jeremy and his brother made multiple trips to our house to evaluate what work would be involved, advise us on installation options (we were considering purchasing a free-standing stove as opposed to an insert), and move our old stove to our garage. They went above and beyond what I would consider a proper consultation without money exchanging hands first. Once we'd bought the stove, Jeremy and his brother were quickly available to make the installation. The work itself was very tricky in that the insert was a tight fit and required a clean-out door be installed from the outside of the chimney so Jeremy could reach in and connect the liner to the stove. Jeremy did the brick cutting and Chad did the rest of the masonry work. The results were a very tidy (no cracks or mortar drippage) and attractive chimney door. In the end the insert was installed to our satisfaction and for a very competitive price. The brothers worked efficiently and finished up in a reasonable amount of time (especially when you consider the complexity of the job) and were pleasant and courteous throughout. I might add that the Johnsons are pretty interesting guys, having just returned to Ohio from Nashville where for years they were working musicians and song-writers. We're very happy with the end result (we've been burning wood every day since) and next year won't hesitate calling Kicking Ash Chimney Service to come clean our chimney.
