Jeremy Johnson was polite , professional and very knowledgeable. He worked through a few issues (gas line needed installed , wrong burner sent by distributor) with patience and got the job complete , for our house warming party.

terrible...no cleaning of fire box gas logs, glass etc...as outlined in offer...tech even mis-diagnosed type of fireplace we have...

These were two separate jobs but Angie's list didn't have that listed on the service. The Owner accepted responsibility without a second thought. That is remarkable in this day and age. The tech came out and was very thorough and finished without any mess left for us. These guys are great!

They did a great job. The fireplace and chimney were cleaned, the gas logs cleaned, and it was done in a short amount of time and there was no mess.

The man who came was punctual and congenial. He took time to carefully explain the status of my chimney and fireplace. The cleaning process was thorough and he left my living room as clean as it was before he came. He also gave me great info re: fireplace inserts as I had been considering purchasing one.

Jeremy Johnson, of Kicking Ash Chimney Service, arrived a few minutes early and set to work inspecting our 15 year old gas logs. He also inspected the chimney. Three days later Jeremy sent an in-depth report of his findings. He was very thorough and specific when it came to the report and letting us know what we needed to do to protect the chimney and gave a recommendation of where we could buy gas logs. We will contact Jeremy again for noted repairs to the chimney and to install replacement gas logs. He was very considerate and knew his business. I appreciate his thorough assessment and responsiveness.

It worked out well. I was satisfied with the service. I had this type that didn't really need to be cleaned. Initially, the reason I had them come out was because I couldn't get it started. They took care of that for me. That's what they came out and did. For $99 to start it was probably expenive. I was still satisfied with getting it taken car of.

Purchased a chimney inspection and cleaning deal. Scheduling was prompt. Guys arrived early and performed inspection and sweep. Extremely knowledgable and gave me many use and maintenance tips to avoid creosote build up and prolong the use of the fireplace and chimney. Service was above and beyond! Highly recommended!

Jeremy - discovered and issue with our main burner that needed fixed and was under warranty. Rather than making us have to involve another party to get the warranty work done he took it upon himself to call the manufacturer and made a trip back to fix it for us. Excellent service

Excellent. Jeremy did a very good job of completing all repairs. The estimate that he provided was very reasonable compared to several others that I obtained. I was given a detailed receipt of all work completed that included warranty information on the crown coat, water seal and patches. Jeremy came highly recommended to me and I would definitely pass his name on to others.

I had Jeremy come out to reseal the flashing on my chimney. I thought it was leaking. I was getting water damage on the soffit. He convinced me it was not the flashing that was leaking, it was a gutter problem. He could have resealed the flashing and made some money, but he chose to be honest. He was also very friendly and personable.

The brick work looks great and they matched the existing bricks beautifully. I am definitely planning to use Kicking Ash again. They are a small family company that takes great pride in their work.

Excellent customer service- very responsive!! Came out on his day off to get the work done by Christmas for us. Just an all around great company to work with.

I'd highly recommend Kickin' Ash. These guys were great to deal with, did excellent work and offered a lot of tips about how to maintain the chimney as well as the masonry on the house. They gave me prices for the services they could perform to prevent expensive damage down the road, and also advised me on things I could do myself to save money. I enjoyed having Chad at the house, and would not hesitate to have them work on the house again. They've been doing this for a while, and I trust their expertise.

The guy showed up a little late but apologized and was very courteous, professional and friendly. He swept the chimney quickly and updated me on all of the entire system, noting a couple of instances that need repaired before using the fireplace again. He was very informative and took the time to thoroughly explain everything and how it all worked together. I'd highly recommend them again and, in fact, will use them for the necessary repairs in the fall. Highly recommended!

next steps (I got surprised with those guys last Saturday... They did a chimney cleaning on February, 27th in a very professional way and performed an overall inspection providing a list of things I should do to keep my chimney. We agreed on the crown coat, water seal and floor repair and they told me that, if the weather got warmer, they would be back on the 26th to work on that. Last Saturday (26th), I had another guys working at hom and I was sitting in my office when someone knocks my door: it was Kicking ash chimney (Jeremy) saying he had just finished the crown coat and water seal and was ready to weork on the chimney's floor. It was a huge surprise, as we hadn't talked since last time. Their service was great, time perfect and very clean. Coming from another country where service is crap in general, I was absolutely happy to see how professional those guys were. Being new in country doesn't allow me to judge how their pricing is compared to the market, but when you talk about service quality and trust this is a secondary issue. Thank you guys.

The guys were punctual. Arrived early. Did a nice job of cleaning the chimney. Gave some good tips about how to keep it clean in the future. Told me how I could perform some simple tuck pointing myself to save money.

Great experience. I purchased the $99.00 Big Deal for cleaning and inspection of my chimney. I was bracing myself for considerable cost because I could see sprawling of 2 bricks outside, cracks on the crown, and I needed two chimney caps. Replacing bricks that have parts broken off can be very expensive. Fortunately, Chad thought the damage was not bad and the chimney was in good shape. He recommended watersealing the chase to prevent further damage and coating the crown to take care of the cracks. He agreed that I needed 2 caps. All of this will keep most of the water from rain/snow from soaking into my chimney and causing further cracking and damage to it and even my walls inside. I have a very large chimney. I thought the price was very good considering all the work. The total cost of $670 includes the initial $99 for the Big Deal and a senior discount (which I always appreciate), so I spent an additional $571 after the Big Deal. The Big Deal included up to $100 in mortar work so they filled in the crack that had formed between the porch and the chimney due to settling of the porch at no additional cost to me. Jeremy contacted me I think the next day after I bought the Big Deal (purchased (Feb. 17) and we scheduled the cleaning and inspection for February 29. After the cleaning and inspection, we scheduled the remaining work for March 9 at 1:00 p.m. They were booking up quickly and to work on my chimney required temperatures around 60 and dry weather. Jeremy looked ahead on the weather forecasts and saw that warm, dry weather was predicted for March 9, so we scheduled for that day. As it turns out, rain was forecasted to arrive later March 9, so Jeremy called me in the morning and said they could work me in earlier in the day so everything would be dry before any rain arrived. I really appreciated that! They arrived on time, were very friendly and informative, and answered all my many questions clearly and patiently. Clean up was good, no problems. Very friendly, thoughtful, and easy to work with. I love the way my chimney looks now! And I'm thrilled to have it all sealed up from water and animals. Thank you Kicking Ash!

Excellent service - The two gentlemen thoroughly cleaned out the flu and fireplace and suggested a possible fix to the flooring of the fireplace itself. It is severely cracked and will probably require a replacement in the next year or two.
