New Buck Chimney Sweeps

I was contacted by the company, we met and an estimate followed in about 4 days. Their estimate was mid way between two other estimates, but guarantees were better. They contacted the city so that arrangements were made to get the electrical line to the house out of the way. The work progressed on the schedule that they said it would. All work was completed as scheduled and the cleanup was excellent.

We only got an estimate. We did not have the work done by New Buck as two other companies said the work New Buck proposed was not needed. Both of the other companies from Angie's List said only the crown needed repaired. The company we went with charged $185 ... a vast difference from the almost $3,000 New Buck wanted.

Mike came out to provide an estimate and discussed our needs and concerns. He recommended a few options and provided an itemized estimate. He was very professional and answered all of our questions. They came out and did a very good job on our chimneys (on a roof with a steep pitch). Other companies we talked to said they would not be equipped to do this work.

I called New Buck because I wanted a second estimate for the chimney work. Jeff came to the house on 3/15/12 and I told him what needed to be done according to the other company's inspection. After looking over the chimney, he gave me an estimate which was about $100 lower than that of the first company. I was impressed with Jeff's professional appearance and demeanor and the appearance of the truck he drove and the BBB and Angie's List ratings of New Buck., so I told him that I wanted him to do the work. which was completed on 3/22/12. I was informed via telephone and email when the work would be done and Jeff called before he came to the house and arrived on time. Although the price for the work was expensive, I felt that it was fair considering the cost of materials which I had checked from two suppliers on the internet, the risk of working on a ladder, and the skill involved with the masonry work.

Work went fine; clean-up inside was thorough. Staff was personable and professional. Felt the $325 fee for the "Crown Coat" was excessive, as the work required about 15 minutes of brush application of the material on the cap.

Good job and I would use them again.

I received outstanding service. I was so amazed by their clean up and everything else. I did not even know they were here. They were on time for their appointments, very courteous and I would recommend them to anyone who needs this kind of work.

I am a real estate agent and had one of my seller clients call new Buck for an estimate to get some chimney work done. They were prompt with the inspection and also the estimate. Because my client was under a time crunch, New Buck was able to juggle their schedules to commit to doing the work in a timely manner. As it turned out, we were unable to use their services and when I called to cancel, they were VERY understanding and professional. My main contact was Trent and the person that was going to do the work was Jeff. I appreciated their efforts. I will call on them again when I have other needs of their services.

The technicians were very knowledgeable of the work they performed. the work was excellent. Their punctuality was impeccable. On the day of the appointment, they were scheduled for a 10 AM appointment. They called at 8:30AM and stated they would be at the house in 30 minutes. They showed up promptly at 9:00 AM, and had the entire job completed in 3 hours. The job was originally scheduled to take a full day. The only problem we encounter was after the initial visit. They were supposed to call with an estimate and price, and after week, we had still not heard. We began calling the company, but could not get a return call. We eventually got into contact with Trent, and explained the situation. He jumped right on the situation and called back with information needed for the job, and a scheduled appointment time. Having owned my own business, I was extremely impressed with his ability to handle the situation. Thanks to New Buck, we should be able to cut our fuel bill down by using our wood burning stove that we have been unable to utilize that past few years. I would highly recommend New Buck Company for their services, and intend to continue to use this company myself in the future.

Everyone was extremely friendly and professional. Originally I was to have the flew to the furnace cleaned and a cap installed on the chimney. Rob arrived in the allotted time and cleaned the flew to the furnace. Once inspecting the chimney, Rob told me the chimney needed dire repair and further explained his findings, along with an estimate. (I have an older home and the chimney had not been looked at for probably several decades.) I was able to make an appointment for a couple weeks later. They arrived on time and completed the rebuild within a day. The flashing was replaced around the chimney and the cap was installed at no extra charge. The workers did a great job cleaning after themselves (couldn't even tell they were there.) They kept to their estimate and the new chimney looks terrific. Will definitely call them again for any chimney concerns or problems.

Overall very good. Easy to make appointment, prompt, helpful, very thorough explanation, honest assessment. Would use them again for sure.

The service was of high qaulity, clean, honest, and very customer oriented. I would use them again when needed, and recommend this company to any one needing chimney and fireplace checking or maintenance. The price was reasonable.

Price was reasonable and they waterproofed the chimney crown for free. Jeff was punctual and pleasant. I had some difficulty getting my questions answered in the weeks following the sweep - I had emailed Trent regarding receiving a report of the inspection and regarding smells that persisted even after the cleaning. Jeff did get back to me approximately two weeks after I sent my initial email.

Sweeping and inspection were professionally done. We have a wood burning stove that we have never used since moving into the house because it was clearly misaligned. Stove was thoroughly cleaned as well and properly reset. We asked for an inspection and estimate of the chimney because it was clearly in need of repointing. Received and estimate for repair of the tuckpointing and crown. They also let us know that they noticed while they were on the roof that our gutters are not installed properly. The only negative was that I originally scheduled for Friday, but received a call on Friday from New Buck saying they were overbooked and asking if we could reschedule to Saturday morning. I rescheduled for Saturday morning, but it was after noon before someone arrived. Other than the scheduling issue, very professional service.

They were really nice and helpful when estimating on my fireplace.

I called two weeks prior to arrange to have New Buck Chimney Sweeps out to clean and inspect our chimney between the hours of 9 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. I was told at that time that, because they have a service person that lives close by, he would be able to be out early. I thought I was scheduling the appointment for the following week (last week), but when my wife contacted them, she was told that we were on the schedule for the following week (this week). I figured it was just a miscommunication on my part so we were ready for them to come this week. Because I had not received a call and because of the miscommunication last week, I called them at 10:30 to make sure that they had me on their schedule for today. I was told by the person who answered that she was at home and did not have today's schedule, but assured me that, if I was on the schedule, they'd be out. At noon I called them back to let them know that nobody had showed up, nobody had called, and that I'd wasted an entire morning waiting on somebody to show up. I'd used this company about two years ago and was very pleased with their service. I'll probably need to find another company.

I may have got them from Angie's List but I am not sure. They did well in educating me in terms of what I needed to do. Their price was competitive and their scheduling was relatively easy. I was happy.

I have had them do a sweep and an inspection for me. Every single time, they were perfect. When I had them out for a sweep, they found out that they didn't need to do it, so they inspected it for free. They were professional. They basically did what they said they were going to do. The work was very well done. The guy who did the stucco on the chimney after them was praising the cap up and down. He couldn't say enough good things about how it was going to help the chimney. Based off of his evaluation of the work, we were really pleased with the craftsmanship of the work. They do very good work. Overall, they were very easy to work with. They were pretty honest with me. I asked to have an estimate done for some extra work, but they recommended that I have some stucco work done to be more cost-effective.

As usual they called ahead to let me know they were on their way. I was at work, and they were willing to wait until I got home. I was impressed right away because it was raining and the insepector took off his boots when he entered my house. The cleaning took about 45 minutes and he cleaned up all around the fireplace when he was finished. There was no attempt to sell any additional products or do additional work. I appreciate it when service folks don't try to push products on you.

Repairs completed within the estimated time period. Technician very helpful and took time to make sure my questions were answered. I would definately use New Buck again for any future repairs.

GREAT! I called New Buck last week to see if they could give me options for fixing my fireplace/chimney drafting problem and converting it to a wood burning w/gas start. They came out the next day, we talked, we came to a solution, and he ordered a new lock top damper. It came in this week and he called me Tuesday to set an appointment to do the repairs. Thursday afternoon was the soonest I would be available and he was here promptly at 1pm. He did everything he said he would AND he taught me how to use the new fireplace, how and when to buy wood, what not to buy (pine), and where he had recently seen fireplace supplies that were on clearance!!! How about that! lolol. Very nice man and I would highly recommend his services. Oh, and he cleaned up before he left. I think my money was very well spent.

There was an ice storm which resulted in a two-day power outage. The temperature in the house was down to 42 degrees before the power came back on. We've lived in the house for 6 years, but had never gotten around to having the chimney inspected to see if it was safe to use! New Buck was able to come out on very short notice (called on one afternoon, met with them the next morning), and let us know where we stood. Due to the ice, they weren't able to inspect the chimney from the roof, but they said they'll come back to do that once the weather is better at no extra charge. I am very thankful that they could come out to see us during the middle of the storm, and the advice on chimney caps, fireplace screens, and gas vs. wood setups was very helpful!

The metal plate from the chimney damper became dislodged and was dangling in the fireplace. We called other providers first and got no answer or were told that it would be 3 or 4 days before a service person could come out. This provider said they could send a worker that very morning. Within an hour, he was there. He put the plate back in place (a difficult job because it didn't go back in quickly). He also removed a dead squirrel (!) that he found there. Polite, professional, punctual. The price for this work was as quoted, and very reasonable.

I was very pleased with them. I thought they were very honest. I had a situation where I was buying gas logs, so I had them out to have my chimney swept and they said it didn't need it. That impressed me. I thought they had a reasonable price. My chimney was covered, so they had to special-order a cap. I had a good experience with them.
