Precision Door Service

The company said they would give me an estimate between 4:00 and 5:00. The owner came out about 4:15. He gave me an estimate and did not take advantage of me by selling me more than I needed. He was very polite and courteous. The installation happened the next day. I left the garage unlocked and they had it near completion when I arrived home from work. The installer had me come out and try the door to make sure it worked to my approval. (The installer cleaned the connections on the light socket so it worked properly again) This company comes highly recommended. They stand behind their product 100%. I have recently had another home improvement job that went south. Therefore I called Angie's list and I am 100% sold on Angie's List recommendations and approve of their endorsements.

Everything went well and works great. Much quieter than before... They also tuned up the other 1 car garage door. Cost was 600. 300 for the spring replacement (2 springs) and 300 to put new rollers on the 2 car car garage door. As a side note, I could have replaced the roller for about 30 myself, which I did on the 1 car garage door. They did guarantee the 2 car garage door for the life of the door, whatever that means....

It was a good experience, He was helpful in explaining Our problem, He told me what he was going to be replacing and why. He also explained the benefits of the better rollers and recommended that I replaced all, but gave me the option of only replacing the currently bad ones. He had everything replaced and was ready to leave in just over 1 hour. I was surprised at the cost( He was up front and told me what it would run before he got started) But, Listening to the whisper quiet door makes me think it has been worth it.

Call company to fix damaged garage door. They made an appointment the same day, Saturday Christmas weekend. Gentleman called and confirmed the time of arrival that afternoon. Technician showed up 15 minutes early fixed the door within an hour at a very resonable price. ON the weekend before Christmas, I didn't expect such on time service.

I called for an estimate and the owner ,John came out and gave me an estimate the same day. He was very knowledgeable and honest about the job. All though he was not the lowest on price he had the parts in stock and could have them installed the next day. The Company also warrantied all the work and all parts they installed. The installer ,Kevin arrived on time and had everything installed and working in 3 hours . He did a very good neat job and cleaned up and took old door and parts away. All in all a very good experience .

My garage door was hit by my car backing out that morning taking children to school and daycare. It had come partially down and hit the back of the hood, not causing much car damage but much damage to the door. Upon returning I got on my laptop and checked Angie's list for a dependable and reliable garage door business. After checking reviews I choose Precision and placed the call. I received a callback immediately checking on my problem and letting me know that they would try to get someone out the same day. I received a callback from technician informing me about an hour later that if okay with me he was on his way to check the damage. He arrived within minutes and I was informed that a new door would be necessary and the rest is history. Door installed the next morning, working great and I have no complaints.

The whole experience with Precision Overhead Door was excellent. We had originally bought a LivingSocial deal for a different company and when they cancelled and then refused to call me back we got onto Angies list for another Garage Door service company. POD answered the phone on the first ring, they answered my questions, and promptly scheduled a repairman to come out to my house the next day. Kevin called when he was 10 minutes out to give a heads-up, when I said I was a couple minutes behind him he politely waited until I arrived home. After introducing himself he quickly got to work replacing the rubber seal and performing the inspection. He even helped us program our garage door opener and garage key pad! When he was done with the tune-up we discussed how the parts were wearing out but he didn't push us into replacing anything immediately, just told us to call whenever the spring did break. It was a pleasant experience I will definitely be calling them whenever we need another repair.

Very efficient, very nice and did a great job. They offer 24 hour a day service.

Technician arrived on time and called prior to arrival. He assessed the problem and told me that since my opener was an Overhead Door opener he would have to get parts through them or I could have them come out and repair. It would have been nice if the person setting up the appointment had asked me the type of opener we had. That way I would have known that Precision could not get parts for Overhead Door openers without ordering through Overhead Door! Since I was already paying for a service call and did not want to buy an expensive part through Overhead and have to pay them an additional service call fee, I decided to go the route of having the opener replaced. I am very happy with the new opener. It works great and the technician put it in quickly and did a good job.

They are fantastic and they don’t try to sell you anything you don’t need.

Showed up the day I called. Very professional. Serviced door and gave advice for future self service.

The overall experience was excellent. John arrived at the appointed time, explained what the problems were, and proceeded to fix the door openers. I couldn't have been happer with his responsiveness, knowledge, attentiveness, and overall professionalism. Next time I have an overhead door problem, I'm calling John without hesitation.

The bracket on the lower panel of my garage door had broken thru the wood. I asked it it could be repaired. Unfortunately it could not so Kevin showed me my available door options and the cost to install. The door I ordered was not in stock so Kevin upgraded me to the next level at no additional cost. He accepted my Angies List Coupon. Door was installed the following day at a time convenient to me. Kevin noticed one of the sensors on my electric door opener was loose so he tightened it up. He did a great job installing my new door, and he even cleaned up after himself. Kevin was a very polite, knowledgeable, friendly man and I highly recommend his work.

Garage door left side cable came off of spool. Called to schedule appt., scheduled me for the same day 1-4. Didn't get there until 5:30 and had to call after 4 to make sure service person was still coming. Once tech was there, service was very good, and my garage door works great now and is very quiet for a chain drive.

Very punctual--and on a Sunday no less! The only less-than-A rating I give is for price. The reason for this is that the final price of $300 was outside the estimate range of $160 to $260 provided over the phone.

There was an accident and my garage door window was cracked. He fixed the problem that caused the accident and suggested a glass repair shop. The serviceman was professional otherwise and very personable, so I don't think it was intentional.

I was leaving for work on Monday morning and my garage door wouldn't open. I don't have an outside door on my detached garage, so I was stuck. I called Precision Door Service and Allen Lainhart came out within the hour. He was able to wedge himself into the garage and get the door open. He then installed a new door the same day. I was really happy with the quick service call and my new door.

Our 1920 built garage door needed replacing, and we contacted Mr. Hidy for a quote. He was prompt and personable, told us our options, and explained the doors & hardware he uses in detail. He has a very good warrantee on his work. We decided to go with his company, and agreed to have one simple overhead garage door installed. He came with another fellow, and did a great job. They cleaned up so well you'd never know they were there, and didn't take long at all. He explained how to use the door in such a way as not to stress the hardware (it's a manual door), and how to lubricate it when needed. Even though our garage is quite humble by today's standards, Mr. Hidy treated this job with as much consideration as if it were a more expensive install. It's an impressive thing when you encounter this kind of character in today's world. We would definitely recommend his company.

I called the company on Monday and talked to John about my garage door that had started sagging and would get caught on the track. He came by my house that same evening to look at my door and explained my options for fixing this door. After figuring out that there was no long term fix for the door, I asked him about replacing it, and he explained what the price was and what all goes into that price (new door, track, springs, removal of old door, etc.). He also said that his guys could come the following day (on Tuesday) to remove the old door and install the new one. I took him up on the offer and had a new door installed and waiting for me on Tuesday after work. The door looks great and opens and closes very smooth. They were very meticulous when installing everything: they rewired my door opener (no more visible wires on the ceiling) and redid the outside trim with caulking to ensure a proper seal of the door. John came back on Tuesday evening (after I got home) to make sure everything looked good. I really appreciated their timeliness and quality of work. I would definitely suggest them to anyone needing repairs or a new garage door.

The torsion spring (large spring above our garage door) broke and we thought the cables on either side of it did too. I searched Angie's List looking for "garage door service" and found Precision Door. I noticed that they were a 2011 Super Service Award winner and called them after 5:00pm on a Thursday. I talked to John (the owner) and told him our issue - he quoted us a price and said he would have someone there the next day between 2pm - 4pm and would call first. John called, on Friday, just after 3:00pm and was at our house a few minutes later. He assessed the situation and explained the issue: broken spring, cables OK and did not need replacing, where to lubricate, and gave me the option to replace the rollers that keep the door in the frame and help it raise and lower. I opted to replace them. Our garage door is a 16-year old "builder's basic" so he told me what to look for as it ages and told me I did not need to replace it. The final cost was consistent with his quote. He also provides basic garage door tune up services, replacement doors, and replacement door openers. John was polite, informative, professional, and composed working in a hot garage on a hot day (we couldn't open the door until he replaced the spring). I will hire him again for any garage door needs and recommend him to our neighbors.

Excellent. They showed up in person before any other company returned our phone calls. Speed was critical and they met that need. Many companies didn't even return calls until Monday. It was a little strange because they didn't call first, they just showed up, but we were delighted.

First, they serviced my opener the day before Easter. Not many companies would have come out on a Holiday weekend! Kevin the technician was very pleasant and professional. After examining the opener he told me exactly what was wrong and what it was going to take to fix it. I feel he went beyond what was required. He even programmed my car to open the door (since I couldn't figure it out :)

They were kind and personable. He did the work efficiently, especially since the garage doors were tricky to program. They were more expensive then I was anticipating, but they did take an Angie's List coupon. I would use them again.

It was Saturday afternoon and many garage door servicing companies were closed for the weekend. Precision garage door was not only open but they showed up for servicing within less than an hour. In another hour the spring was replaced and the door was operational again. The person who did the work was very professional and I think the price was fair.

Fantastic job! John (The owner) set up an appointment with me for a quotation and arrived on time. We talked about several options as far as repairing the existing door and/or replacing it. Since the original door was cheaply made and was obviously on its last leg, I decided to replace it. Set an appointment for the following day (Friday the 16th) Service Tech (Kevin) showed up and did a fantastic job! Very clean cut and professional ( a people person -which is hard to find).The door is heavy duty,super quiet and looks/works perfect! Kevin took the time to adjust my garage door opener which had been acting up off and on for over a year. I have used this company Since 2006 for everything from Broken springs to worn out guide wheels. They have always treated me fairly and the service is outstanding. I will definately tell family and friends about them if the need arises! I also like the fact that they give you different options on repair or replacing. Its nice to deal with a company that isnt trying to upsell you on everything!
