Saturday night - Easter weekend. At 6:30pm I discovered my garage door would not open any further than about 6 inches. After determining that there was nothing around the door and the lock not engaged, I decided to call someone. I thought, there is no way anybody is coming out to fix this door on a Saturday night, much less Easter weekend! And, if I was lucky enough to find someone, they would probably gouge my wallet. So, with both cars in the garage, I thought I was trapped and probably would have to call in to work on Monday morning - most likely being the soonest that someone would come 'rescue' me. I Googled "24 hour garage door service" and happened upon Precision Door. I called and got their answering machine. I left a message thinking I would probably not hear back until Monday - totally bummed. I received a call back from Precision about 10 minutes later. John said there was NO PROBLEM to come out and he would send someone right away. He wasn't kidding! Someone was at my door WITHIN THE HOUR and this young man fixed the broken coil and replaced the other side as well (since they should always be done in pairs) in 30 minutes! Total time from my initial call was LESS THAN TWO HOURS. I was saved. Precision Door is THE BEST. I highly recommend them and will use their company again. They got my vote -- 5 stars!!

After my initial call for an estimate, they were able to come within a few hours on a Saturday, since they happened to be in the area. I live about one hour from their company. They were able to install the new door and fix the opener within a week's time - being very prompt. When I came home from work, the new door was installed and the opener worked! I was very thankful for their prompt service since I had scheduled for a lawn tractor to be delivered on Saturday and needed to go into the garage. The house had been a rental for 6 years, and the old door failed to open any longer. I would recommend Precision Door Service to anyone!

Heard the loud boom of the old spring on the garage door about 10 pm the night before. Precision Door was out by about noon the next day. Very professional, friendly, and knowledgeable. Can't ask for much more when something goes wrong and somebody is out roughly 12 hours later on a weekend to fix your problem at a reasonable price. Would highly recommend.

He was quick and very friendly. Saved us from purchasing another opener. Awesome! Still works months later!

Tom came out yesterday afternoon to view the mess I was in. The garage door was completely bent in half and just hanging there by a thread. The garage door was not a standard size however by 8:00pm that night I had a new door installed with everything new, springs,rails and the works. Kevin the Tech who installed it was very polite and answered any questions I had. I would hire this company again without thinking twice. Thank you for the great work and installing it so fast and professional.

The job was performed quickly and professionally, the only issue I had was with the online scheduling tool they had. I scheduled the appointment online and received a confirmation email however when I called to confirm they were coming there was no record of the online appointment. They still came out that same day just later in the day, so if you are going to use them call them to schedule the appointment. If the online scheduling tool would have worked they would have gotten an A for responsiveness. With respect to the price, I rated it a C because the only product used in the tuneup was a lubricant and it only took about 15 minutes. $90 for an easy 15 minute job just seemed a little pricey to me.

Our garage door broke tonight at 5:30 with both of our cars already in the bay. We could not raise the door, even manually. I immediately got on Angie's List and searched for someone who had emergency repair services for garage doors. I found Precision Door and called. I spoke directly with Mr. Hidy, the contact listed, and he stated to me that he believed that our spring broke and he could come out tonight to repair it. Mr. Hidy arrived at 7:00 and went right to work! We did indeed have a broken spring. He also let us know that we should actually have two springs for our type of door although ours only had one. He gave us an estimate to fix it which included the option to add the second spring. We chose to add the extra spring. Mr. Hidy put on two new springs and fully lubricated the door. He also let us know that the springs have a life time warranty on them and that he would come out no charge if there is ever a problem in the future. Upon completion we tested the door and were amazed as it has never sounded better nor been so smooth!! Mr. Hidy was very professional, prompt and did an overall outstanding job! I would highly recommend Precision Door to anyone who is looking for fantastic service!

The response to call was immediate which was fantastic due to the emergency! The consultation visit was within hours which was astounding considering it was a weekend! The problem definition was clear, no gimmicks, no complex nebulous language....resolution offered was permanent one. The cost was pricy but one could argue justified with the guarantee offered. Overall excellent service!

Came on a Sunday which was wonderful! On time and very professional--explained everything and gave suggestions for other things we should get done in future.

. January 6, 2014 Arrived home on Christmas Eve to a non-working overhead garage door. Was able to open manually but a problem existed that needed a repair. Not my forté, especially in cold and darkness. Called and spoke with Heidi, a customer service representative at PRECISION O VERHEAD GARAGE DOOR SERVICE ON COMMERCE DRIVE IN FRANKLIN, OHIO. SHE SET UP FIRST A VAILABLE APPOINTMENT FOR THE FOLLOWING DAY. BUT SHE SAID IF A TECHNICIAN BECAME AVAILBLE BEFORE THEN, SHE WOULD CALL AN D SET UP AN EARLIER APPOINTMENT. SURE ENOUGH, A TECHNICIAN (THE ACTUAL BUSINESSS OWNER,BECAME AVAILABLE THAT MORNING TO CHECK ON THE PROBLEM. ONCE IN THE GARAGE, HE QUICKLY ANALYZED THE OPENER’S PROBLEM. WE DISCUSSED THE ECONOMIC OPTION OF DOING ONLY A REPAIR VERSUS A COMLETE OPENER REPLACEMENT. HE RECOMMENDED THE MORE EFFECTIVE AND COST EFFICIENTREPAIR ROUTE TO TAKE BECAUSE OF THE EXISTING QUALITY OF THE GARAGE DOOR OPENER. WITHIN AN HOUR A NEW GEARED SPROCKET WAS INSTALLED AND THE DOOR COMPLETELY OPRERATIONAL. MR. HIDY CHECKED THE DOOR’S BALANCE AND THEN LUBRICATED THE DOOR’S ROLLERS AND HINGES. THE REPAIR WAS DONE IN A TIMELY MANNER, EFFICIENTLY, AND HANDLED PROFESSIONALLY FROM START TO FINISH. EXCELLENT WORK!

Called at 9:00 am on 12/26, Heidi answered the phone and scheduled the service call for 1:00pm. I mentioned that I had sent a message via Angies list. She experessed concern that they hadn't received it and said she'd folow up to be sure there was no problem. Good level of interest was shown. Tech arrived on time four hours after I called. Tech examined door and springs. Door was out of balance, undersized springs were in place. Fifteen year old carriage had stripped gears. Tech recommended against adjusting springs for fear of breaking springs and risk of a greater out of balance condition. He did not recommend replacing springs at a $300 cost. He figured if it took 15 years to wear out the carriage it would take another 15 years. Carriages are cheaper at $25 than springs would be. He did recommend buying a coupler joint to have on hand as that would be the next part to wear out and it would be an easy home repair not requiring a service call. Online cost of that part $3.00 All in all I was impressed by the professionalism of the tech and office staffer and the custopmer service attitude displayed.

I contacted Precision Doors on Monday and set up an appointment for Tuesday to repair our problem. Our only disappointment was that they did not show up for the Tuesday appointment. I must stress, however, that we are NOT unhappy with Precision Doors and how John the owner handled the situation. I called about the missed appointment, John checked into it, called back & sincerely apologized and agreed to show up first thing the next morning. My wife was here when John showed up this morning and said that he was one of the nicest, friendliest contractors that she had ever dealt with. He fixed our garage door quickly and told my wife that it is their company policy that if they can't make an appointment, their service charge is free when they do arrive. Good to his word, John charged us nothing ($0.00) since no parts were required to fix the electronic glitch to the opener. We gave the owner a chance to resolve the missed appointment and he went above what we would have expected; next-day service free of charge! Therefore, we are VERY happy with Precision Doors and plan to call them back to repair the cracked rubber seals around the garage door to keep the cold air out. My wife said John left by saying "Have a Happy Thanksgiving!" after our free service call. He actually restored my faith in in that there are good business owners who care about their customers. I think I feel the holiday spirit kicking in a little early this year... Thanks John!

Apparently things have changed at Precision Door Service. On Sunday my garage door opener broke and would not move my door anymore. After looking on Angie’s list I found Precision and they talked about same day service so I called. I explained my problem but they did not offer to come out the same day which wasn’t a big deal because my door did open manually and I figured maybe that same day thing was reserved for emergencies, so we set up an appointment for the next day, which I was fine with. I told them I would be home about 4:30 or 5:00 and was told someone would call before they come out. At about 5:15 or so no one had called so I called back. Something was wrong with their phones because it kept picking up but no one was on the other end. After about three tries someone from Precision called me and asked if I have been calling. I explained that an appointment had been set up but no firm time and was wondering when they might be out. I was told they were just about to call me (aren’t companies always about to call you) and asked if they could reschedule because the tech that was supposed to come out was out of openers. I found this to be a bit strange since I am not sure what not having an opener has to do with not coming out to take a look at one that you might be able to fix. I agreed to a new date but because of my schedule it had to be a couple of days longer. Needless to say when I got off the phone I was not impressed. I figured one of three things was going on. 1. They already knew my opener could not be fixed which if that is the case then just say something. 2. They had no real intention of trying to fix it and didn’t want to come out without one to sell me. 3. They did not want to have to make two trips to my house in case they couldn’t fix it which I understand but doesn’t really help me does it? I figured odds were they were going to have to replace it so why don’t I just go buy one and do it myself and save me the $75 trip to have them try and sell me one. I might have to wait a couple of more days to install it myself but I save a few bucks, their loss. I just wasn’t impressed with what looked like a place that had great customer service so I can only assume things have changed. I forgot to add that I had called today to cancel the appointment since I went and bought an opener to install myself and when i called the lady I spoke did not appear to see an appointment for me. While she didn't really say it she seemed to ask questions that clued me in that they had no appointment for me. So it seemed clear to me after that i had made the right choice.

It was good. They fixed my garage door and I spent about $150 with them to do it.

John reviewed the job and provided his recommendations for the new door, rails, spring system and color. He recommended keeping our existing 20 year old door opener rather than adding the cost to replace it, since it was still in good condition. The removal and installation went very well. Kevin did a professional job. He went over the installation with me and then made a couple of minor adjustments, to be sure that I was satisfied. He took away the old door and left the job site in good condition.

Nothing's worse that coming home on a dark and rainy afternoon only to find your garage door is not working! It was nearing 5 p.m. and I was furiously thumbing through the yellow pages when I saw "Precision Door"'s ad. Not only did the company answer the phone call, but offered to come out if I didn't mind a short wait. The gentlemen arrived, surveyed the problem of the overhead spring which was broken, fixed it in a timely manner and was on his way. This company delivers with quality service! I wouldn't hestitate in calling them again. Thank you Precision Door for coming to my rescue.

Garage door operates properly. Completed the job within an hour. Very satisfied thus far.

Just the way I like work to be done. He ordered the special order door I wanted and when it came in hung it replaced the mechanics, cleaned up and left. Very satisfied.

Last week our garage door, which did not have an opener, became jammed and we couldn't pull it up. This is an old, single-car, detached garage that has no regular door, so we literally could not get into the garage to access or lawnmower, etc. (thankfully there wasn't a ca in there!). I called Precision based on the Angie's list scores and reviews. They had someone come out on Saturday morning who was able to get the door open and assess the problem (that cost $85 for a service call). He gave us an estimate for repairing the wood frame the door was connected to, which had become warped, and for installing an automatic opener with two transmitters and an emergency release. He returned today, Tuesday, to complete the work and charged exactly what he had estimated. This company seems very professional and fair. I would definitely call on them again for garage door work.

I will definitely use them again, if necessary.

Contacted Precision Door after 5PM when old garage door opener failed. Representative said that they could have someone out around noon the next day and would call before arriving. I received a call the next morning stating the repairman could be here around 10AM which was fine with me. Repairman arrived right on time and immediately set to work removing the old opener and installing the new equipment. In less than an hour all the work was completed, the new opener installed and tested, outside wireless access panel installed and programed. Repairman left no mess to clean up and took the old equipment with him so that I did not have to worry about proper disposal. I was amazed that service was provided in such a timely manner with the entire project from call for service to very satisfactory completion of the work taking less than 24 hours. I try to deal with small local businesses whenever possible and am very glad that I found a company like Precision Door Service. I would recommend Precision Door to my friends and neighbors without hesitation.

Garage door broke. Called Precision Door. They came out the same day and fixed the door the same day. Great service and great turn around! Having a broken garage door for more than a day is too annoying to shop for the best price. For $265 they replaced both springs ($110 per spring plus $75 for the service call, less a facebook coupon of $35 off). I think that is just a little higher than what I could've paid if I shopped around, but again, they repaired the door the same day I called so I was very happy. The springs on the door came with the house which was built around 12 years ago. So with two brand new springs we should be good another 12. Also, the garage door opener attached to the outside of the garage was broken and the technician, Kevin, took the time to help us reset it at no extra cost. Overall, Precision door is a trustworthy company, will do business again, just hopefully not too soon!
