Description of Work: I purchased a $59 deal for 16 point furnace tune up with filter replacement in 2011. They did a fine job and I have nothing bad to say about the service.

Description of Work: Upon purchase of the coupon I was informed that someone would be getting in touch with me within two days. Day three came (day five if counting the weekend) and I received and email from Angie's List asking if I had heard from Jacob Bros., and I replied that I had not. Approximately three hours later I received a phone call from a lady at Jacob Bros. who from the very start of the call seemed to not want to be on the phone. She was very short, curt and seemingly impatient. She sounded frustrated having to explain that I misunderstood the coupon to be an "inspection and tune up" when it was actually for a "service call." When I asked for an explanation as to whether certain needs of mine would be part of the call she quickly reminded me that it was a "service call" with out clarifying the details I needed. She did eventually explain that an AC tune up had to be performed in warmer weather. At that point she stated that she read that I wanted a technician as early as Monday the 2nd of February and offered that one of the Tech.'s lived near me and could come in the morning. We scheduled it for 8-830 am Wednesday. In my notes for the coupon I listed a call before coming and that was not relayed to the technician who showed up within the 8-830 window as scheduled. He was polite and informative. However had to be persuaded to actually get up on a ladder to inspect potential causes of our issues. Once that took place he informed me that he discovered a gap in the furnace construction meant for a filter that could very well be a contributory factor as well as a condensation pan that was too small for the unit, also a possible contributor to our issues. If I had not encouraged the ladder an peak in the attic none of this would have been discovered. |Overall I felt that I was in some way inconveniencing Jacob Bros. and didn't feel my problem was important to them. Perhaps because I was using the coupon. I have no idea. To be fair, This was one experience and in no way should be used as an overall rating of their company. But I doubt that I'll be back.

Description of Work: We have worked with Thomas and Galbraith for years. Their servicemen are knowledgable and respectful. They installed a new HVAC unit four years ago, and return to monitor and maintain the unit twice a year. We always receive clear communication on current needs as well as future items that will require attention so we can adequately plan and prepare. They take the time to teach and train us on different functionality (whether with the unit or the control panel). With their attention to detail, we have built a relationship and believe they have out best interests at heart.
