The maintenance is very good and I would get my cooling unit maintained right before the summer start or early summer and then my heating unit. They also put in a nice air filtration system in house which was very good. My house was built in 1995 so the coils were leaking and they replaced that, so they replaced pieces of my furnace very well. Usually, I get real quick service which I appreciate. They have some turnover but the people that they usually get in replacement are good. So, all the maintenance people are very good. I am very happy with my heating and cooling unit operation and they do a very good job. So I like Thomas & Galbraith Heating Cooling. I don’t know if they are the cheapest but they provide me good service so I wouldn’t want to move away from them. They gave me the new coolant. They were proactive, as you know there was an ETA regulation that changed all of our coolant and I went to a system that was way before time which would be the new coolant and they provided me the and maintenance it very well. They provided advice on maintenance. I wish the window was smaller when they came out. Their window of when they are going to be coming out should be narrowed but I understand that you don’t know who or how the other person before you, how long it is going to take. So I understand the issue. They will call me from the truck so the will know I am here.

We put our house on the market in the spring, and when scheduling our AC checkup, we asked if we should cancel now since we were likely to sell the house after this service. The woman said, no, keep the contract going just in case it did not sell. She promised that if we sold the house after a few months, then they would refund those months. We sold the house, and called to cancel and ask for the refund. This time everyone we talked to said that this was not their policy, but they would escalate the issue and call us back. After 3 phone calls, they gave the same story each time, and NEVER called us back.

I guess their tone, I mean I'm just rude because I'm a customer service person, so it takes a lot for somebody to get an A from me. Because I've been with customer service for 22 years of my job. Not very mini companies now or businesses that give that kind of customer service that ours require to give so it's very hard to get an A from me.

Good work. We have been using them for 15 years.

It was fine. They did good. They fixed the light, but they didn't do anything with the light on the back porch. They said they didn't have the part. They did okay. My son was here and I wasn't. When I called they were already done.

We've had them for years. They are not cheap.

Tech was late to arrive. Spend a good half of his time answering cell phone calls to solve other remote problems while on the clock at my place. Apparently my purchased Angie's list discount payment was worthless, as the tech shoved my paid paper work in his pocket and said that will just barely cover the cost for him to show up at $89.00 locally. Then I was really reamed with a $505.00 service charge to install a $130.00 replacement generic fan. To try to make me feel better the tech signed me up for a $185 one year maintenance plan so I could save 15% on the $505. The actual worked performed for this service plan that could see is nil and not worth even $60. It is just an excuse to get the tech back out there to up-sell more over priced services. Don't make the same mistake I did. Choose another HVAC provider for simple repairs like mine. I have requested a refund of the extended service plan and will be monitoring my credit for it. It cost a couple of hundreds for the capacitor. They responded almost immediately. I tried several others and they never even called back.

Called Jacobs and they were able to send out a tech the next day. The tech replaced a part on my AC and took about a half hour, my AC has worked fine since.

Thomas & Galbraith put a lot of work into my HVAC system. They did a good job and I would use them again. There were problems in the lines of communication between sales and the installation crew that led to some haggling and oversight that I would rather have avoided. However, Thomas & Galbraith was responsive to my concerns (including redoing some work at my request). When it was all said and done, they got the job done right. They have also been quick to answer questions and respond to service issues after they got paid. I believe their reputation and the quality of their work matters to them, and despite some challenges getting the job done as specified I wouldn't hesitate to use them again.

Our air conditioning system was not cooling the house as it should. I replaced the capacitor myself on the outdoor unit but there was still an issue as the air was not coming out cool from the vents. The technician arrived right on time and quickly got to work. He quickly let me know that the unit was low on coolant, somewhere in the 2-4 pound range. He also visually inspected the indoor and outdoor components. He let me know that since the coolant was low that there was likely a leak somewhere. He let me know that a leak search could be performed for $120, but I declined this service after talking with him. Once we realized that the outdoor unit was from 1999 (older than I thought) I made the decision to just go ahead and recharge the coolant as a temporary fix and then to start budgeting for a full replacement of the unit in the next few years. The technician was very professional, friendly, and gave his honest opinions helping me to make what I feel was the best decision at this time. The service call was purchased through a discounted price on Angie's List for $64. The unit needed roughly 2 pounds of coolant added, which was $136 charge.

They were prompt, and did an excellent job. I would surely recommend them for anyone who needs their heating or air units fixed

I had Jacob Bros quote me for a whole house dehumidifier installation, Jack Erb did the quote. Beware they overpriced by 250% over other providers quotes! They were knowledgeable, but wasted my time with an outrageously high quote, and first by having to have 3 (yes 3) different techs come out to give me this quote and service/clean my furnace, that was 3 different appointments I had to be home for! Then when they gave the quote to my extreme shock (as they never indicated it would cost this much when we met in person) the price tag was $3,999. I couldn't figure out why they would try to charge so much when I could google the parts and see the actual costs, the dehumidifier they quoted was only $1200 (you can find ones as low as $950), the thermostat $150, all with free shipping and 0 tax online. They would have less than $100 of ducts and other misc parts and maybe $100 electrical wiring hookup cost. So how was their labor for what they told me was a 6-8 hr job so incredibly high like $2,449? Their response when I asked why it was so expensive, was simply "there is shipping, and tax..."and stuff that was incredibly irrelevant especially since I saw online I could buy the parts myself with 0 shipping and 0 tax, and I would assume their wholesale pricing would be even better but at worst i saw the max retail costs. So frustrated I did what every homeowner should do anyway and I priced it elsewhere to get competitive quotes. The dehumidifier can be bought for as low as $990, and in total labor and all, was quoted by two other firms between $1550, and $1850 TOTAL....thats nearly 1/3 the cost Jacob brothers quoted...how is that possible? They either use a really poorly setup mechanics quoting tool that just generates a generic cost and they don't think about how much they should actually be charging for that time or they are just trying to rob people and assume some will pay it, some won't. For me even $1550 to dehumidify my home is a lot of money, but what they wanted was insanely way too much to pay for the received benefit, I wouldn't have done the work if it was truly that expense to do. Heck you can get entire furnace and ac units replaced for that kind of money! If you want to flush $2 THOUSAND dollars down the drain for no reason then call them, if not then call one of the other hundreds of providers in Cincinnati.

As expected the experience was outstanding. The response was immediate. Quality of work can not be beat. The workmen were professional, punctual and the guys always had my needs in the fragrant. I could not have asked for a better experience.

It went great. They were able to fit us in in a few days after we called, and they showed up on-time and fully prepared. We had many obstacles in the way of getting the old unit out and new unit in, but they were able to move or work around them. I let them in and answered a few questions, and let them know where things were and what our priorities are, then I left for work. When I returned they were gone and the furnace was working well, very effectively connected to our duct work and heat pump system. The unit has worked great since. I have no complaints, and we were pleasantly surprised. The bill was as estimated - lower than an estimate we had for a lesser unit from another contractor.

They did a great job, were really responsive and easy to work with.

He was very prompt and didn't try to over sell. He is somebody I would definitely use. The price was really reasonable. It wasn't a lot for that kind of a service call. It was just a track charge. I don't think he charged her anything to flip the switch. She was a foreign professor and a little older. She would be an ideal target for unscrupulous contractors to try and take advantage of. He didn't try do anything shady and I thought that that was really good. They are amazing, fabulous!

On Wednesday, the first tech diagnosed the problem as lack of proper airflow due to a corroded heat exchanger caused by water in the intake/outflow air pipes. The lack of airflow would not allow the burners to ignite. The company initially said they could not get the required parts until Monday, and Friday was forecast to be a very cold day. Late Thursday morning, the company called and said they were going to have the parts by early afternoon and could get someone out to install them. It was a major job, practically disassembling the entire furnace. In the process, another part was found defective and had to be ordered (it was installed on Friday). The tech stayed late until the job was completed. Throughout the 3-day process, both the techs and the dispatchers were very empathetic, stayed in frequent contact with me, and did all in their power to restore my heat as soon as possible. The company provided outstanding service by expediting parts, making several trips to parts suppliers, staying late until the job was done, and explaining the extensive process of the repair. Finally, and also very much appreciated, they spent extra time researching that the numerous parts and many hours of labor were covered under warranty resulting in no additional charges beyond the service call. I was extremely happy with the service that Jacob Bros. provided and would highly recommend them. I will use them again next time I need my HVAC system serviced.
