+ 0 moreI love that when you call, you talk to a person right away! The lady I talked to was so polite and professional. She got us scheduled quickly (within a day or so). The plumber who came was the same guy, both times. He was also polite and professional. He gave us a lot of good insights during the plumbing inspection, including some estimates for replacing our aging water heater and toilets. I was a little disappointed that he didn't know right away that the leaky toilet needed to be replaced -- mostly because he then had to come back a second time. Fortunately, he took the price of the initial repair off the toilet installation, so we paid a total of $600. The new toilet is working great and our water bill is less than half what it used to be with the leaky one! I would definitely recommend Service Pros for quick response and polite, quick, professional Service.
Description of Work: Service Pros initially provided a whole-house plumbing inspection (we bought the Angie's List "Big Deal" for this). Upon inspection, the plumber diagnosed a leaky toilet as needing a new flush valve and he replaced it ($208). Unfortunately, this didn't completely fix the leak, so we had to call him back. At that point, he suggested we install a new toilet, as the cost to fix the old one was around the same price. He replaced the toilet with a new, water-saving one.

Two technicians arrived (3) days later to do the work. They arrived on time , very courteous, wore booties in house, worked constantly and left the house in order.
Description of Work: Installation of New heat pump, air handler, heat strips and digital thermostat. One small scheduling problem, otherwise, a very professional company. Highly recommend.

Description of Work: I used The Service Pros for a whole house inspection about 3 weeks to a month ago. They checked all the plumbing in the house and they checked the hot water heater which was an old one. They checked a couple of problems what we had and gave us estimates on them.

Description of Work: evaluated plumbing, replaced outside hose bib & expansion tank on water heater. Afterwards I questioned if the waterheater should have been replaced as it its11 yrs old. .I was pleased there were no surprises when the bill was prepared. There is a toilet that does not flush well enough, but it was not worth $1250 to replace with a high efficiency one. He suggested there was not enough air getting to it to flush, & we might never find out why or where.

+ -1 moreThey were the ones who put in the heating and cooling in this house initially. They did a fine job. I have a service contract with them. They come twice a year and call and remind me when its time and send notices in the mail when its time to do things which is kind of nice. So I can't forget about it. They already have my money and they don't have to do that, but they do and that's nice. They put on life into my heating and cooling system so that's nice. They do a nice job. They came for a routine maintenance, but they went over every thing with me to let me know what everything looked like, if ever thing was okay, if there was anything they saw impending problems with or anything. I felt pretty comfortable with their assessment and service call. I don't remember the price, but it must have been pretty decent otherwise I would not have done it.
Description of Work: I used the service of Thomas & Galbraith Heating and Cooling Inc during the winter for the furnace.

+ -1 moreWe had a coupon with them for a free furnace cleaning so we did not have to pay anything. We got into an issue with them whether they were trying to scam us about cracks in our furnace. They gave us an estimate what their work would cost. We called a local consumer reports guy on a local TV station and that got The Service Pros attention to be honest. After 3 furnace companies looked at it through our insurance, The Service Pros ended up being right. 2 out of the 3 other companies agreed with their findings. Our insurance company had us complete the work through another company. I would defintely recommend them. They were definitely thorough. One of the companies that came out complimented The Service Pros on how clean and lubricated the furnace was after they had serviced it.

I picked them up because the owner's son just happened to work for me and he made a recommendation that they just started out the company. I have gone with him. They always call me and they are good, when they come out.

+ -1 moreThey called to set up appointment. Gentleman arrived promptly after calling on his way. He wore a uniform, covered his shoes with "booties" went downstairs and cleaned and checked unit. He cleaned up all his debris and tools (cleaner than when he arrived). The furnace has performed beautifully since then.
Description of Work: Came to service furnace prior to turning on. They also have installed our latest air conditioner.

+ -1 moreNot well. Though I was told he would also complete some repairs while at the house he clearly had no intentoin of actually doing any plumbing. He said the scheduler didn't know what they were talking about when she told me that he would do the inspection and complete a few - 3- minor repairs to leaking faucets and a valve replacement in our garage. In the 45 minutes he spent sitting in his truck quoting the repairs he could have completed the work if he was actually a plumber. Intead he wrote a very high quote and left since he knew we were not going to buy a maintenance plan for our home.
Description of Work: The BIg Deal was a way to get into the house to sell a maintenance plan. The person the showed up appered as though he was not a plumber at all but simply a salesman.

+ -1 moreThe Service pros charged me approximately $680 for 3 hours of work (including troubleshooting and driving time to get a new control panel) to replace the control panel. This price is very high, coming out to $183 per hour for labor alone. The Service Pros knew they could take advantage of a customer with a freezing cold house in the middle of February, so they decided to do so. The work was done on a weekday during normal business hours, so there were no additional overtime charges.
Description of Work: My home furnace stopped working in early February. The Service Pros accurately determined that the furnace control panel needed to be replaced. I later discovered that the cost of this control panel was $130. The geniuses who designed the furnace placed a condensate drain tube junction directly above the control panel. The drain tube leaked, which eventually shorted the control panel. The Service Pros acquired a new control panel, installed it, and the furnace worked normally again.

I asked about routine maintenance, and he made recommendations for summer and winter. Tech offered their service plan, which I purchased. The actual repair was only about one-third the total cost.
Description of Work: Our furnace was not heating properly. Tech cleaned the igniter switch.

+ 0 moreThe Service Pro service tech (Eric) was very professional, on time, respectful of my house and demonstrated great patience with my dog. His work ethic was excellent, efficient and clean. With each item on my punch list, he explained the 'why and how' my problems came to be and how to best resolve them with minimum impact to my house, space and budget. When he completed an item, the showed me what he did and explained again why he made the changes and how this resolved my issues. Service Pros will be the only plumbing company to work on my property as I cannot see how anyone else could have been more professional, done a better job, with a better price!
Description of Work: I called my home warranty company for slow drains in my bath and kitchen, who in turn connected me with The Service Pros. The slow drain in the kitchen was due to improper (not to code) plumbing by the previous owner of my home. The Service Pro tech (Eric) re-plumbed the pipes under the sink to install a vent and also corrected the slope of the adjacent sink drain (it is a double sink). The kitchen sink now works excellent! The bathroom sink needed a good drain clean to remove years of stuff, and now works excellent. I also had a problem of sewage gas entering the bathroom through the tub drain. Upon inspection, it was discovered the bath drain was not to code as it was not vented nor did it have a trap. He was able to resolve both of these issues, in very tight confines, without having to make any cosmetic changes to my walls or closet access areas for the pipes.

Called Jacob immediately; they had a cancellation & could fit me in that night & came about 8:30 pm. Problem was a cracked igniter; installed another; took abt 1 1/2-2 hrs. I was pleased I got a $58 discount for having purchased their yearly maintenance program previously, for net of $325 paid. Repairman very nice & professional & speedy.

+ -1 moreOn Sat 12/4/10, we began having issues with our furnace.. the fan would come on, but not the heat. I placed a call in to Jacob Bros since they are the ones who replaced our HVAC system back in 08. The lady who took my call was very nice & assured me someone would get back to me right away. Within the hour, we got a call from Mark. I explained our problem to him & he was at our house within 45 mins. He took a look at our furnace & was quickly able to identify the problem & fix it right away. Turns out, it just needed a good cleaning. He was very nice & answered all our questions & explained things to us. These guys have been to our home a few times, each technician that has been here has always been top notch!

+ -1 moreWe had a great experience with Jacob Brothers. We used them because of a good report on Angies List and recommendations from several friends. Their price was also much more reasonable than another estimate we received. Our salesperson was friendy, informative and knowledgeable about all of the equipment and systems in our house. It did not come across as a 'sales pitch', I felt like he really spent time to explain what they would do and give solutions to other problems we were having. The crew that came out were friendly and professional and did all of the work that we discussed, cleaned up after themselves and walked me through the new equipment and how to operate it. I had to call Jacob Bros to come back out and address one minor issue that was overlooked and they came out without any questions or hassle and quickly fixed the issue. Very very happy with everything and will use them again.

+ -1 morePoor! Installation took twice as long as promised. Was initially interested in only A/C unit replacement. Based on contractor's recommendations, decided to also install new furnace in order to take advantage of higher efficiency. However, after several months of Winter cooling, came to realize my new furnace was no more efficient than old furnace. Contractor claimed to not understand how to calculate furnace efficiency, but it is a simple process. Contractor did not return phone calls and finally had to show up at their door to get owner to speak with me. No apologies ever offered for misleading sales practices, nor was any offer ever made to compensate me for being sold a new furnace which ended up not saving me any money at all. Considered taking contractor to Small Claims Court over the matter, but did not. Shady contractor. Not trustworthy. Avoid!
Description of Work: Replaced gas furnace and A/C unit, including relocation of outdoor cooling unit.
