+ -1 moreI purchased an AL Big Deal for a sewer rodding and drain televising for $79. The Service Pros communicated well and clearly explained what they would do for $79. They showed up on time and performed the service as described. $79 got me one pass all the way through with a spade bit and then they would stick the camera in the line to show me what's in there. NOTE: If you're having problems with your sewer line (in my case, water backs up through the floor drain in my basement after a shower or washing dishes) one pass is not enough. I didn't learn that until after they left. We are still having problems. This is NOT the fault of the Service Pros as they are capable of fixing our problem, but it comes with a much different cost than what we got with this Big Deal. A cost that we can't afford, and they weren't certain that it would even fix our problem. Overall, Service Pros are professionals and they can tackle most of the jobs out there.

+ -1 moreThe Service Pros have actually provided us with multiple drain cleaning services. We have many trees in our yard and have experienced sewer backup in the past. As a result, we have proactively had our sewer drain cleaned periodically from many different companies. About a year ago we contacted the Service Pros to clean our drain when they offered a Sewer cleaning as a Big Deal discount. They were fast, friendly, professional and the price was right. We were happy with them and called them to return 2-3 months ago for preventative drain cleaning. At that time they offered to use a camera to scope the drain for us. They informed us that the drain was actually PVC pipe extending into the front yard but stopped about 10 yards from the city line. At that junction, the clay pipe had shifted and it looked like our sewer problems were only going to get worse. They explained things clearly and gave a complete estimate for the work at that time. I was skeptical. It was a lot of money. Was the work was really that necessary? Just 2 weeks ago, the drain backed up a gain. Again, they were quick to respond, and their customer service was excellent. They helped us determine our options. After investigating a few other companies, it appeared The Service Pros were competitively priced. We decided go ahead with the drain replacement and they continued to be professional and dependable. I will definitely use them again.
Description of Work: Provided Sewer Drain Cleaning Service in a 33 year old home with 30+ trees. They have been subsequently contracted to perform sewer drain replacement for a portion that is yet to be converted to PVC. They have begun the preliminary work for this new project but are currently waiting for the city to mark utilities.

+ -1 moreThey were scheduled to show up on Friday. On Monday I called, they did not know why they did not show up and rescheduled for Tuesday. The Angie's List Big Deal was advertised as follows : $79 for Sewer Rodding/Drain Cleaning with Free Sewer Televising! $400 of drain cleaning for $80 The technician claimed the $80 was just for running their camera in the drain, and it would cost $400 to clean the drain. Eventually they agreed to do the job as advertised and the drain seems to work. It is frustrating having to fight to get them to honor their ad.
Description of Work: Did not show up the day promised then tried not to honor the Angie's List big deal.

+ 1 moreMy husband had most of the contact with the service person, and I think there were several different options discussed. I remember only that when the decision was finally made, the service went smoothly, and the sump pump has given us no problems since then.
Description of Work: I was sure we had written a review for this service before, and in all honesty, I can't remember much about it. I think Service Pros replaced our sump pump, but am not sure.

+ -1 moreThe service rep spent most of the time trying to sell me replacement parts. He was professional and rather polite, but I usually had to repeat myself when I told him that I wasn't going to replace those parts at that time. For example, there were some electronic parts that had about 40% of their life left, and he suggested that I replace them then, rather than wait a few more years. I don't know really which 16 points were "tuned up". Perhaps tune-up was the wrong word. I have had furnace tune-ups before, and the other tune-ups included a simple brushing/vacuuming/wiping away the dust inside the unit. The Service Pros rep mentioned several times that the dust inside the unit had contributed to the wear on the parts, but he didn't clean it, since it was not part of this "tune-up". This one fell into the category "you get what you pay for." Overall a "B" performance.
Description of Work: The Angie's List Big Deal said "$59 for 16-Point Furnace Tune-Up", but the service rep spent most of the time trying to sell me replacements for parts that still worked (and still work a year later), but had some wear.

+ -1 moreIt was a little rocky at the start because of some miscommunication but once that was corrected the entire experience was very positive. The company offered a Trane furnace which was to be fully installed for $1999.00 as a Big Deal. Since I have two furnaces in my home I contacted the company and they didn't hesitate in agreeing to sell me another one at the same price. I agreed to the contract and within less than two weeks the sizing was done and the furnaces installed. Since this all occured around Chritmas I was very pleased that they could do the work during the year 2012 because there was still an energy rebate being offered by the utility company and I qualified for that. My overall experience with this company has been positive..........the people I spoke with both over the telephone and in person were courteous, friendly and competent. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to anyone.
Description of Work: I purchased two Trane gas furnaces which were fully installed as per the Big Deal offered in Angie's List.

Instead of using them, I will just go with someone else.

He explained everything he did to me in a way I could understand, and made suggestions how we can maintain our unit and suggested other vendors to call (ie. duct cleaning etc). He performed additional services (cleaned and replaced humidifier filter) and explained the importance of doing so and keeping up with it. He recommended the "Elite" Service Plan for regular scheduled service. I bought it! I look forward to working with The Service Pros again in the Spring.

+ -1 moreI Purchased a 200.00 coupon for 99.00 The toilet was jammed with a bar of soap and the wall-mounted bathroom sink came look from the pipe to the drain. They used the auger to clear out the toilet and attached the pipe to the sink after rethreading pipe. This was less than 30 minutes and the main problem it turned out after all performed was the pipe behind the wall need to be augered out, that would be another 300.00. My total bill was 395.00 without coupon.
Description of Work: toilet would not go down due to bar soap clogging. Drain was cleared. Wallmounted sink came loose from pipe to drain. Needed to be rethreaded and same pipe attached.

Further service was required and the problem, a pipe dropped in my clean out stack, about 110 feet from the house needed to be removed. They followed through on the project with me paying the required additional funds to find and remove the pipe. They were very professional and concerned to see the job through and get my waste line in good working condition.
Description of Work: I purchased a certificate to check my toilets and drains. They checked the toilets for blockages, checked my stack for a blockage, and none were found. To find the problem it required the use of equipment that was not supplied on the big deal certificate.

She examine the piping and cleaned the kitchen drain with Super Vee. The water flows nicely now. She also checked the water heater and provided me with the estimate for suggestions to improve the plumbing system. Overall, she is very professional and helpful.
Description of Work: The plumber helped to clean the pipes to remeve the clog.

I had signed a maintenance agreement with the company last summer when I got my air conditioner tuned, so I got a little break in the price this time. It all went smoothly. (During the summer I was the last appointment of the day and got mad because they arrived several hours past what I was initially told - but this was June during a very hot spell).

Previously, another serviceman from a different company had suggested that the furnace had a crack in one of the burners. I mentioned this to the Service Pro who was inspecting the furnace. He was very thorough in checking that area closely and found no crack or defect. He took time to explain the condition of the furnace in all areas of the System Check. In addition, he explained what that meant in terms of expected life of the furnace in its current condition. He left a complete detailed report.
Description of Work: (Nov 2012) Heating season check by Service Pros serviceman: Cleaned, inspected and tuned furnace. Provided complete report of Heating System check, with readings and condition for each system.

He checked every faucet, toilet, shower and drain in the house. He was knowledgable and professional in his assessment of each plumbing feature. He communicated well, documenting the condition of the water heater and the pressure resulting from the regulator. He seemed to take a reasonalble amount of time to make a thorough and complete inspection. I appreciated his verbal and written report.
